To begin this discovery quest you need to find the nanny in the park once you have a baby sim in your town. If you complete this quest in the time limit you will unlock overalls for your infant sims, you can still complete this quest once the time is up to unlock the musical expressions hobby and new baby interactions but you won’t get the overalls
You cannot complete this quest at the same time as any other discovery quest

- Meet the Nanny- 1 minute (in park)
- Rant to Nanny Williams- 15 minutes
- Send a sim to an infants home
- Pick up an infant (adult click on infant in crib)
- Relax with an infant on the couch- 15 hours (click on couch)
- Let an infant crawl- 3 seconds (click on the baby while the adult sim is holding them)
- Make an infant crawl (tap anywhere on the ground when controlling the baby)
- Follow obsessively- 6 hours 30 minutes (click on baby)
- Clean infant mess- 12 hours 30 minutes (trashcan)
- Wash garbage off hands- 3 hours 10 minutes (using a sink)
- Ask Nanny for help- 5 hours 30 minutes
- Cry to be picked up (select cry for sim on adult sim)
- Rock to sleep- 1 Day (click on crib)
- Check simbook- 2 hours (using a computer)
- Pick up infant- 9 seconds
- Buy a highchair (infant section of home store)
- Place infant in highchair- 5 seconds (click on highchair) (if you can’t place the baby in the highchair try putting the highchair in the middle of the room with nothing around it)
- Search for soft food in the fridge- 8 hours 30 minutes
- Play with food- 9 hours 30 minutes (baby) (can be started early just start after previous task and you need to go back on the game to complete the previous tasks before this one finishes or it won’t work)
You need to control the baby to do this task so it may be easier to have all other sims in the house busy so the plumbob is over the babies head and you can select the option
- Ask the Nanny where she went- 15 minutes
- Feed soft food- 2 hours 30 minutes (adult needs to click on baby)
- Post photos on simbook- 13 hours (using a computer)
- Ask Nanny Williams to help a friend- 3 hours 30 minutes
- Hug the Nanny goodbye- 3 hours 30 minutes

Completing this quest unlocks new baby interactions, these can be found in my Guide to Babies
You also unlock the the Musical Expressions hobby for baby sims which requires a xylophone from the promotions r us store to complete. The time limit for the hobby begins as soon as you complete this quest. The option is 3 hours 10 minutes so I would definitely earn some LPs to try and complete in time

What do you mean when you say a goal can be started early?
Any goal that you can normally do can be started early because you will have access to it and any goal that you can’t normally do you will have to wait until you get the goal to be able to complete it
The tip with this method is to put the sim doing that action early in a different house that you cannot go to until you get that goal or it will not work

I tried doing the “play with food” option in advance, but when I go back to the game to finish the previous action (Search for soft food), the baby is no longer doing anything and.. The high chair is now inverted, facing a wall. My baby is stuck..
Have you tried restarting your device to see if this fixes the issue? If that doesn’t work can you move the high chair?
Can i start an objective of a quest in advance to save time?
On my posts it says next to the goal (can be started early) if it can be started early, the only goal in this post that can be started early is Play with food.

Sorry but the only way to complete in the time limit will be to speed up with LPs, even if it is over by a minute you will still miss out on the prize without speeding up an action
I really don’t know if other people are having this problem of just getting it done in seven days; but to post on sims book took me 16 hrs not 13hrs. Relaxing with an infant took me 18 hrs not 15.
Soooo this was no help and I got no xylophone
It says in the post ‘some times may vary depending on the star rating an item has.’ The higher the star rating of an item the shorter time it takes you to complete it, I always write those times as that is the time on the items I used. If you didn’t complete it you may want to get items with higher star ratings so you will be able to on the next quest
By the way you unlock the xylophone when you complete the quest whether you complete in the time limit or not, again it says this in the post.

Yes you can, after you reach level 10 you can find the nanny in the park to start this quest

Ugh…I’m stuck without a nanny!
One sim was at work. I played the original sims & you could lose your baby to child services if “neglected,” so I didn’t want to send the sim home with the baby to the park. The next thing I knew, the dancers showed up in the park. I tried to interact with the nanny, but she needs “undivided attention” & said to finish the dancing quest first. Now there’s a real estate agent and a puppy in the park and I’m still working with the dancers because every single one of their activities takes MULTIPLE HOURS to complete! A 10 hour chat? 19 hours of hibernation? Really??
What am I supposed to do with the baby? The diaper icon is almost empty and there’s nothing I can do to help without the nanny. I can’t stand the idea of using points to speed through the dancing quests.
Any advice?
Firstly the nanny is only there while you complete the quest, once the quest is over she will be gone again
Secondly you cannot complete the nanny knows best quest while you are on another discovery quest (the dancing one) once that has finished you will be able to start the nanny knows best quest (you do not have to complete those quests in the order they appear at the park)
Thirdly, a baby will not be taken away if you neglected it on this game so you don’t need a nanny, just have a sim interact with it when they are free.
Is there a way to recreate the follow obsessively and then clean up infants mess part of the mission or can I restart the entire mission? I cleaned up the garbage can instead of selecting the mission option and now I’m not sure how to follow obsessively again! I’ve tried the steps above but may have to restart the mission if it’s a one time only thing…
No there isn’t, you cannot restart quests. Have you tried knocking over the garbage can again and finding the right option?

So I started the “search for soft food” and “play with food” like 2 minutes apart and then went to sleep, when I woke up, it said I only completed the “search for soft food” and it won’t let me search again so I can have my baby play with it. so I’m completely stuck here..
Just select the baby and click on the baby to select the option to play with food in the highchair

Once you reach the goal in the quest you will be able to buy a high chair, you cannot get the high chair before you get this goal.

On starting the “Play with food” early, does it mean I start the baby on that activity first, BEFORE I start an adult sim on “Search for soft food in the fridge”, and then come back on the game before the adult finishes?
And, I just have to make sure that there is nothing around the highchair, right? To avoid the glitches previous posters have encountered?

You could do but you would need to make sure that the baby one doesn’t end before the adult, if that is going to happen put the baby on after, that way you know you have an hour to get on the game and complete the fridge goal before the baby will be ready

I did the quest but not in the time limit and I didn’t get the overalls even tho I completed the quest what should I do?
The overalls are the time limited prize, if you did not complete in the time limit you do not get the overalls.
I clicked on the Nanny as soon as the baby was born, but I did not meet her. Now I can not find a way to meet the nanny.
Is she not in the park? You will need to send a sim there to click on her to get the option to meet her.

It should come back again one day, time limited hobby events usually reappear often to give everyone the chance to complete them!
Don’t have any other quest aside from the OceanView but cannot talk to the Nanny. No option showing to talk to the Nanny. Have sent the Mom and Dad at the park to to try to talk but there really isn’t an option to do so.
This is a known issue, the makers are working on a fix so hopefully you can start the quest soon.

I turned the baby into a toddler before the nanny task was finished! Now it wants the baby to cry for a sim but I only have the toddler. I’m seriously stuck. Will it help to get another baby? Or would that not count?
The only way you can complete this is to have another baby then you will be able to finish this quest.
Do you have to have the home store to get a high chair
You can buy one from the childrens store but everyone has access to the home store.
The “post on Simbook” has changed now to 16hours instead of 13. Its crazy there is hardly no time to complete this quest with the time they give you! I have been plaging every day to not miss a minute and now I only have 9 hours left and doing a quest of 16 hours, no way. What a mistake they didnt realize?
Post on simbook is 16 hours 30 minutes if you use the cheapest 1 star computer, on the 3 star computer it still takes 13 hours. If you are struggling to complete quests in the time limit you may want to invest in some higher star rated items as they allow you to complete actions quicker.

Uhmm, @weightlessmagic , have you ever heard about the “Baby Onesie” event? It appeared as a quest for me and the only requirement is to complete the Nanny Knows Best quest and I think you will then get the prize after.

It actually takes 15 hours to post the pic on Simbook. I completeled this task just now.
It takes longer if you use a computer with a lower star rating, a 3 star computer takes 13 hours.

Sorry but are you saying you started the toddler quest or you haven’t started it yet?

So I’m doing this quest and it said to give the baby the soft food and for them to play with it but I selected the one to just feed the baby. I don’t know what to do now because it doesn’t give me and option on the fridge to get soft food and the baby doesn’t give me an option to let her play with the food so what do I do I’m freaking out😫😫😫😫
The plumbob needs to be above the babies head and then you click on the baby to get the option to play with the soft food and an adult needs to click on the fridge.
Every time I try to make my baby follow obsessively or whatever she never finishes that task and the bar that tells her how long it has been never moves and if it does it stops at a curtain point. Why can’t my baby do this?

I’ve completed a bumpy ride quest and I wish to start the nanny knows best quest, despite having no discovery quest in progress and meeting all the requirements for the quest ,the option to ‘begin quest’ doesn’t show up for me. Is it some sort of glitch?Please help!
