The Sims Freeplay- Dream Daycare Live Event

ONCE THE 11 DAY TIME LIMIT IS UP YOU WILL HAVE 3 DAYS TO PURCHASE ANY PACKS YOU HAVE LEFT– you will not be able to collect anymore arts and crafts items or coins, you have to use the resources you have, if you don’t have enough resources all you can do is use social points to buy the requirements or wait until the event returns!

If you want NEW toddler and infant content then this is the event for you! This is the second live event- if you didn’t partake in the French Romance one then it is very similar to a community event but this time you don’t need help from everyone who plays the sims freeplay to unlock the prizes, there are only personal prizes this time! You firstly need to update your game to the daycare update for this event to appear

This event is only here for 11 days and the aim of it is to collect enough arts and crafts items from the arts and crafts stations (found in the event tab of buy mode) to unlock all the items in this event

NOTE: if you did the French Romance Live Event then you will find your arts and crafts stations in your inventory, you will only be able to use the candle ones until you unlock the other stations in this event

Place a crafting station (find the candle station in the events tab of buy mode (or your inventory)- you can only buy 4)

Make some arts and crafts items (click on the candle station to make)- 23 seconds

This takes you to the prize progress tab (you can get to it by clicking on the playground event button in the corner of the screen)

Here you will see you have collected enough items to unlock moonlight siesta! When you unlock each pack, before the items are available in your home store you need to purchase them with the arts and crafts items you make- this goal is coming up!

Restock a crafting station (when the stock runs out you will have to restock before you can make anymore arts and crafts items)- You can restock instantly for 18 uses for 10SPs or restock for 2 uses which will take 10 seconds this time

Buy the moonlight siesta pack (click on the playhouse event button, scroll down and click purchase- this will cost you 50 candles)

Use a coin flower patch (buy the coin flower patch from the event tab and select the spin plant option)

Check the daily goals (click on the playhouse event button and find the daily goals tab- claim the ones you can!)

Remember to claim your rewards each day!

Collect bonuses (while collecting after a certain amount of time you will see the arts and crafts item appear above that sims head, click to collect the bonus item!)

Continue collecting arts and crafts items- this is the last step but the event is not over, keep collecting the arts and crafts to unlock everything!

If you want to speed up a collecting arts and crafts action it will cost you SPs, you will get the bonus gems as well if you speed it up!

I will add information on all prizes as I unlock them!

The grand prize for claiming all the prizes in the event is the Toddler Playground House Template, you can see how it looks in this video:

Constructor Coins

You earn constructor coins by:

Personal Progress prizes

Completing Daily Goals

Coin Plant Patches

Earning Construtor Coins? Previously on these events I used social points on the Mega Spin Plant to win constructor points. I earn social points by completing the cooking hobby and earning LPs, I can then turn the LPs into SPs using the social point plant on a normal garden patch- this was when it cost 5LPs- the social point plant now costs 20LPs so you may want to try the option below first instead:

Or you can use 450 candles for the Spin Plant (a good way to use up any spare candles) which will also earn you constructor coins but the amounts are less than they are from the Mega Spin Plant

Laura Craft? You may have noticed at the front of one of your houses there is a board with a bubble of a person holding arts and crafts items above it, this is Laura Craft, you can buy her for real money to help you complete the event. When you buy her, you select the item you want her to make from the options: 480 candles,  720 pottery, 1080 jewelry or  1190 glassware (the amounts seem to differ for most of you and I have no idea why that is!) (you will unlock all the options once you have unlocked all the stations) and you will be able to collect them after 8 hours.

Thank you for everyone who let me know what Laura Craft does!

Do I think she is worth it? Definitely not! If she made constructor coins too then maybe but I’m really struggling to see how she is a good investment- even if I could afford her! I am shocked at how many people brought her before even knowing what she did!!

If I brought Laura Craft in the last event do I get her for free or do I have to buy her again? Unfortunately you will need to buy her again for this new event.

  1. Has anyone noticed that the game tends to be too focused on Events? Usually when you update, an Event will start right away and this has happened with the past updates although some like Police, Movie Star, and Doctor, Doctor didn’t add an Event upon update. I understand that the Event is the replacement for the Quests that the update would add.

Also I feel that the game gives you little time between Events as by the time one ends, another one is going to start and the game often tends to start SimTown Market while an Event is running. This gives you little time to work on other things such as Professions, Hobbies, Life Dreams, etc. as well as reducing the rate you earn Simoleons (having less Sims to plant) or Lifestyle Points (from Hobbies). This was bad before French Romance removed the LP requirement to reserve aging as you had to deal with your Sims aging since they would constantly be working on Events. Sure you can choose not to do the Event but the items are permanently missable even though Events will return unlike Quests and Hobbies where you only get one chance.

  2. Is this update available NOW (4th April) – or is this another one where Windows Phone players get left out 😦

    • It may be a little late for windows and amazon like normal, this is due to those app stores though, not the developers.

      • thanks… whilst searching for this, I found this news…

So, if we ever get this update… it will be the last… for Windows Phone… (and the end of almost the only reason I’ve kept the phone….)

Fortunately, my total expense has been my time… and £0.00 cash…

So, before I uninstall the game in disgust, I’d like to thank you for your blog – its been very useful over the years….

      • They did this once before, they stopped updating windows phones and for some reason they started again so you never know!

You’re very welcome, I’m glad I could help!

      • On the positive side… the update arrived today… along with confirmation about this being the last windows update…. but… we get a full 11 days to attempt to complete it… and I’ve got no reason to save my SPs !!

  3. First of all, you are amazing. You make playing the sims even more fun. And I can’t believe you already have stuff up about this event!

My question is, if I have 2 sims making candles, should I always choose the 2.5 hr option? Is this how I will eventually unlock the other stations like glassware and jewelry?

I haven’t quite figured out how you get so many LPs and SPs. I keep my sims inspired and busy either at work or growing beans. I’m working on saving money for more houses so I can have more sims. So I think I mostly have to complete tasks without using LPs.

Ok maybe that was more than one question. Thank you for any help!

    You’re the best!

    • Thanks! Glad its worth the time and effort it takes 🙂
If you are in a position where you can do the shortest option throughout the day then I would recommend it as you will be able to collect more arts and crafts items than if you do the longer options. But if you are going to be busy it would be better to do one of the longer options to make as many as you possibly can.

Earning social points is quite hard unless you have neighbours as you earn them by completing social tasks in a neighbours town but you will earn some in this event and you can also use LPs on the social point flower to spin for SPs but this is expensive- it will cost you 20LPs and sometimes you will only win 3SPs in return so it isn’t the best use of your LPs! I rarely use social points in these events as I don’t have a lot, but just remember if you don’t manage to complete this event this time then don’t worry as they usually bring them back!
LPs are easier to earn, completing the cooking hobby after the first time earns you 5LPs, you can do the 1 minute option over and over until you complete it, this post explains this in more detail:

      • I’d like to add that hunting ghosts also brings a lot of LPs. Apart of 5 LPs per collection (18 ghosts), you also have a chance of ghost dropping 1 LP each time you tap it – other times it drops Simoleons or XP – and it does it more often than the big fish does. Right now I have 10 Sims cooking, 3 Sims hunting ghosts, 2 preteen Sims diving (3 LPs per collection, 12 diving medals), 2 infant Sims playing xylophones (3 LPs per collection, 12 melodies) and one teen Sim doing the Teen Idol. Other 11 Sims are busy doing crafts (4 each candles and pottery, 3 jewelry). Once I unlock the glassware, two of the ghost hunters are going to glass. Overall, this way it’s possible to earn 40-60 LPs daily without staring at screen 24/7.

  4. Hi! First of all, I wanted to thank you for your awesome blog! I have a little problem… I can’t seem to place more than one pottery station after unlocking them, might it be a glitch or is it something common? I bought them all for the French romance and now I’m losing time because I can’t use more than one 😦

  5. Oh great… another task you won’t be able to finish on time. Oh, and the sp spin is so not worth it. A coin cost 1 sp to purchase, but 25sp’s on the spin plant only get you 15 coins (most likely outcome based on spin ratio of the candle spin plant). Only use this if you’re desperate for the daily prize and can’t afford to spend candles.

  6. Any advice on how to collect all the bonus items?

    • The best way to make sure you get all the bonuses is to wait until the last minute or so and then speed up the task with SPs, when you speed up one of these actions you will collect all of the bonuses.

  7. I updated the game a day after and I got 11 days, not 12 days! 😦
    Live events are back?

  8. I find the restock feature for this event frustrating. I feel like it adds more of a challenge to an already challenging event. I hate complaining as it’s nice to have new content but I’ve barely been playing 2 months and I’m already finding it…what’s the word I want to go with here…stressful? and a bit more time consuming than I’d like. haha I feel like these games don’t have the right balance either. I quit Farm Story 2 for the same reason, it was event after event after event that you never got a chance to just enjoy the game or get caught up really. Sorry to kinda digress a bit but I feel like you’ll get it where as the people in my life who don’t play these apps will not. haha

  9. So I’m not crazy and 2.5 hrs gets more items per turn? I feel like a fool. I’ve only been playing since the first of the year, so French Romance was my first live event. When I looked over the craft time options, I must’ve looked at the XP instead of the # of items crafted, so I was crafting every 8.5 hours, figuring that was the best option. I didn’t figure things out until two days before the event ended and realized you get around 30 items per hour less at 8.5 hours than you do at 2.5 hours. Now I pick the 2.5 hr option throughout the day and the other options only when I’m sleeping or will be unable to play for a while. 🙂

  10. Hi! I’ve only been on sims freeplay for half a year so am not really sure what the annual Easter egg event is… thanks for any help!

  11. I don’t know if this will be possible to complete, I think a lot of the events have to come back a second time in order to complete everything.

I did get a spin of 125 constructor coins for the first time ever. I’ve played all the past events, and this is the first time that’s happened.

  12. I can’t find the playhouse event plsease help

  13. Really love coming here, you’ve been so helpful to me and my sims haha 👍

Anw, quick question. You know how there’s a limit to the number of stations used for this event, like for Pottery, it’s only up to four, right? I visited a neighbor of mine to earn SPs then I saw she had like 10 stations of the same craft. Is there a way to do it? Or is it prolly a cheat? I hope it isn’t.

  14. I feel like this event is one of the easier ones… I’ve unlocked 6 prizes so far by doing the 2hr all day and then one 8hr while I sleep plus it helps I already had the stations so I could buy extra stations since I had more money saved up during this even… btw your multi story blog helped me complete it in less than a day! Thanks 😊

  15. Does anyone know how much it costs to unlock the toddler playhouse once you’ve bought all the other items. I want to know if I can re-allocate my sims to other jobs once I have enough items for everything else.

I know I can use the spin planet to convert candles into constructor coins. At the end of the French event it changed spare items into simoleans but I’d rather use my sims for other jobs if possible.

    • It doesn’t cost to unlock it and the first one is free but it will cost you simoleons to build a second one on a house lot. And yes you can, you don’t have to complete this event if you don’t want to so your sims can do what they normally do!

      • I’m not sure if it’s different for other players, but my daycare template was free. It was the same as with the French chateau and teen mansion where the first is free and any additional cost simoleons. Maybe the cost structure was changed after the beta rollout.

Also, your blog is awesome. I use it for all of my quests, so thanks for all the great info! I’m working on the Grooving Guru quest now so I’m prepared for the Aerobics event. And I’ll also have to replenish all my LPs and SPs before the next live event rolls around. The Daycare event drained almost all the points I’d saved up.

    • The first playground template is free for me as well, like the spa after you complete the event.

BTW, Weightlessmagic, just have to say that your advice to do the 2 hour 30 minute option over & over when at all possible, is definitely the way to get the objects needed. I was able to do 2.5 hour option during the day & I did the 8.5 hour option at night while I slept & I wasn’t as frantic trying to get all the objects needed, with the exception of construction coins. They are so hard to get, even if you have tons of spare candles to use on the spin plant! I wish they’d make them easier to get or increase the amounts we get during the events; I used nearly all of my SP points to get the purchases because of the lack of construction coins. 😐

  16. So I’ve purchased the night lights, the two different sets of beds (because hey free beds for more babies! and prettier beds at that), the cubbies and the reader island thing. I decided to put them in a house to get a feel for how much space they take up, how they look, etc. only I’ve run into a serious issue with the night lights that I’m not sure if anyone’s mentioned at this point. Thought I’d throw it out there – for some reason you can’t have the night light next to anything if you want to access the thing it’s next too. Example, I put it on the wall next to a door and sims refused to go into the room with an access blocked notice. I moved it next to a crib, same issue. I’ve never had this issue with any other wall light so I’m not sure if it’s a glitch or something else. As far as I can tell, unless you’re able to have a large spot on the wall with nothing around it it’s rather pointless.

  17. 11 days is not enough time if you actually have a life! I want nothing more than the contemporary changing table, because, well, nobody throws an infant into the air to change it, and it looks like that is NOT happening. 33 hours and change left and I still have sp’s and constructor coins ahead of that package. Ugh.

    • Lol, true. I’m glad I got farther this time by making my sims collect for 6-8 Hour brackets. But I don’t think it’s possible foe anyone to get everything unless they squeeze into an exact time frame and prepare LP and SP in the hundreds ahead of time.

  18. I updated the game a little late just today april 14th and i got 5 days not 11, why?

    • Because you updated late you get less days, the time limit is the same for everyone but you will get a bit of time extra because you updated late but not much as the easter event will be right around the corner and they set it up so you don’t complete two events at the same time.

  19. I didn’t have time to unlock all of the prizes before my time was up but now it’s saying I have another three days to collect prizes. The problem is it won’t let my Sims use any of the craft tables. So how am I supposed to collect the prizes other than purchasing social points?

    • Once the time limit is up you can only use the resources you have or social points to buy any prizes available. If you don’t want to or don’t have enough social points you can wait for the event to come back again.

  20. Do we lose all constructor coins and crafts after the even closes? As in, beyond the 3 days we have to use them? Can we use the unused constructor coins in future events?? Help. Ps, I struggle to see how people reasonably finish these quests…

  21. I lost big on the French Romance event but I was unwilling to believe what everyone was saying about not being able to collect all the prizes without spending real money. Instead I agreed with the game developers that the grand prize is only available to those that put in HARD WORK. So I listened. I got to work.

Ever since the French Romance live event ended I have been hammering away at hobbies and doing tasks in my neighbors town, collecting LP’s and SP’s, just waiting for the next live event. BEFORE the Toddler Playhouse event started I had 124 LP’s and 64 SP’s. Then I continued collecting LP’s and SP’s during the event as well. I spent ALL my LP’s spinning for SP’s and then used all my SP’s that I had before the event, collected from spinning, won as prizes during the event, and collected from my neighbors during the event to spin for construction coins. And yet, her I am, 461 coins short of buying the last two prizes and completing the event.

But of course, that’s not all. I set an alarm EVERY 2.5 hours for the past 12 days so that I could log on and collect my arts and crafts items. And yes, I lost a lot of sleep for this, and I was on my phone at school and during my practices WHENEVER AND WHEREVER the alarms went off so I could get the toddler playhouse. I completed all the daily goals and claimed those construction coins too. Then, after I bought all the earlier prizes I spent ALL my candles spinning for construction coins. I wound up short. Furthermore, I was 10,303 glass short of collecting the two prizes as well.

Can someone tell me how this happened? Am I missing something here? Is this not the picture of “HARD WORK” mentioned to me earlier?

I set out to make a point that you don’t need money to complete these live events. I stand corrected. I did EVERYTHING IN MY POWER short of pulling out my wallet and still, I don’t have a house for my little ones. If things don’t start to change, and I mean a HUGE move away from forcing players to hand over money to win prizes they desire, then I might have to log out permanently.

  22. I found this event to be more do-able, therefore much more enjoyable. I didn’t quite finish, I still had two more things to purchase, and the last constructor points to unlock, but I didn’t have the time to keep doing the 2.5 your option repeatedly. Did you manage to finish this one?

    • No I didn’t finish it, I thought it was easier to get arts and crafts items, I had all of them I needed but I kept getting 1 constructor coin so I was very short of those 😦 would be great if they added an easier way to get those that didn’t cost real money or social points!

  23. And I did it! Used up plenty of LPs for SP flower, but I cook a lot, so I have LPs to spare. And now I’m back to LP farming, as I’m sure there will be another event in some time. Next up: boutique hair event. “Coming soon”, it says.

  24. Now that the event is over I’m not able to use the spin plant anymore. I thought for sure we were still allowed to use it for the extra few days for other events, or am I just crazy?

  25. Are the cribs available to buy once the event is over if I unlocked them during the event ? Or do I have to buy them now ?

  26. The only item I didn’t get was the Cozy Reader. I wasn’t able to collect enough glass, and short maybe about 100 constructor coins.

I did do better with this event than the last couple, but I really think they’re designed so that you have to wait for them to come around a second time in order to get everything.

    • Did you know that this update is the last one for Windows Phone users? I’m at level 55. playing for about two years and now I am really disappointed. 😦

  27. Is it just me but with the last 2 live events we had 7 days to buy things after the event ended and this one is giving us 3.5 days? I claimed everything but the beds and I need 500 or so sp to get it so I can get the playground. I was going to buy it on pay day but clearly that won’t happen now. 😕

  28. I got only 4 days to finish! 11 days? To nice even imagining… 😦 In 4 days is NOT POSSIBLE, i find this unfair!

    • You would have needed to update your game earlier to get the full time limit.

      • I had no clue that i have to update the game 😦 isn’t it just hapening like any other app? I don’t know how to do that (stupid, i guess). I think i’ll have a lot of “surprises” on my way, in my comunity nobody riched as far as me, so… i can’t anticipate/ask. Plus, my neighbours are… behind, i have quests that i must pay with lp’s, because they don’t have what i need. Sorry for my confesion… conclusion: even a game is hard when you’re lonely 😦

      • Most apps on your device need updating occasionally when they add new content. This page explains how to update your game:
If you cannot complete the weekly or social tasks then I would suggest you just leave them right now, don’t waste your LPs on them, save your LPs for more important things until you get further on in the game. If you need neighbours you can find lots on this page: or you can comment on that post and I’ll add you to the list so other players can add you!
But don’t worry, I’m here to help! If you have any questions or issues then let me know and I will do my best to answer 🙂 and you may find this page really helpful to start you off as it contains the links to all my sims freeplay posts:
You’ll soon get the hang of the game! 🙂

      • Thank you, the blog is realy helpfull, i use it often to anticipate how to manage quests (i have a job and i am student too, so, time is not realy my friend, however the game relaxes me).
I am at level 54, but i remember an event i still feel sorry about, i had no experience and i wasted lps and social points buying everything came in row, and lost the wedding garden (it was that island, i have places or things i never use, but missing that wedding spot). Will i ever have the chance to get it?

      • You’re welcome!
If you haven’t completed some time limited events then these usually return so you can have another go at completing them (I think you mean the wedding venue from the romantic island community event so that event has been back once already so it may come back again!) If you missed out on the prizes in main and discovery quests then the only way you can get them now is if they appear in the simtown marketplace event, this post explains how those work: that is the only way to get those prizes unfortunately.

  29. If i manage to get enough craft items to unlock the playground, do i get it for free, or do i have to purchase all the prize that came before that? Because i dont have that much of constructor coins to purchase all of it
It if so frustrating and hard to collect that many constructor coins!!
This blog helped me so much, thanks for your wonderful help.

    • You need to buy every prize using the resources and then you will unlock the playground template. If you don’t have enough you can use social points or wait for the event to return.
      You’re welcome!

  30. Here’s a stupid question. Where do unlock my available prizes now that the game is over? I know I had unused resources but I can’t seem to find where to purchase them. Is the problem that I already put my little machine-type things in my inventory?

    • Click on the daycare event button in the corner of your screen to unlock the prizes you have left during the 3 days after the event, once the 3 days are up that button will disappear and you will have to wait for the next time this event is available.

  31. Hi! I managed to build the playground in a premium lot but there is not a house, just the playground! Do i have to build it on my own?

  32. Hi! I just started playing sims freeplay. My sister had this daycare update but mine didnt even though I updated it already. I’m currently in lv 11. Is there a specific level before I get to play inmthis event? I only have the boutique hair event now. And for some reason, they only gave me 3 days to complete it?

    • It may have been because you were on level 11, I am not sure what level you needed to be on to get this event but it is usually around 12.
You would have less time to complete the event if you started late.

  33. Do the items and construction coin carry over to the next event?
