The Sims Freeplay- Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow Live Event

Early Access to Beta Provided by EA/ Firemonkeys- may differ from actual version

ONCE THE 10 DAY TIME LIMIT IS UP YOU WILL HAVE 3 DAYS TO PURCHASE ANY PACKS YOU HAVE LEFT– you will not be able to collect anymore arts and crafts items or coins, you have to use the resources you have, if you don’t have enough resources all you can do is use social points to buy the requirements or wait until the event returns!

Now is your chance to create an amazing Salon with the Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow Live Event! Unlock brand new hairstyles and salon themed items in this new live event available now!

Live Events are very similar to a community event but this time you don’t need help from everyone who plays the sims freeplay to unlock the prizes, there are only personal prizes this time! If you haven’t already you need to update your game to the Christmas update for this event to appear

Check out my Guide to Completing Live Events (including tips!) HERE!

This event is only here for 10 days and the aim of it is to collect enough arts and crafts items from the arts and crafts stations (found in the event tab of buy mode) to unlock all the items in this event

NOTE: if you did another Live Event then you will find your arts and crafts stations in your inventory (or in the house you left them at) you will only be able to use the candle ones until you unlock the other stations in this event

Can’t find your arts and crafts stations? Click on the craft station in your event tab to get the option to find your station, it will take you to the house where your stations can be found!

NOTE: I completed this on the Early Access Beta so some information may be slightly different but I will update the post as I complete the event.

Place a crafting station (find the candle station in the events tab of buy mode (or your inventory)- you can only buy 4)

Make some arts and crafts items (click on the candle station to make)- 23 seconds

This takes you to the prize progress tab (you can get to it by clicking on the hair event button in the corner of the screen)

Here you will see you have collected enough items to unlock the Fancy ‘Foliage’ pack! When you unlock each pack, before the items are available in your home store you need to purchase them with the arts and crafts items you make- this goal is coming up!

Restock a crafting station (when the stock runs out you will have to restock before you can make anymore arts and crafts items)- You can restock instantly for 18 uses for 10SPs or restock for 2 uses which will take 10 seconds this time

Buy the fancy ‘foliage’ pack (click on the hair event button, scroll down and click purchase- this will cost you 50 candles)

Use a coin flower patch (buy the coin flower patch from the event tab and select the spin plant option)

Check the daily goals (click on the closet event button and find the daily goals tab- claim the ones you can!)

Remember to claim your rewards each day!

Collect bonuses (while collecting after a certain amount of time you will see the arts and crafts item appear above that sims head, click to collect the bonus item!)

Continue collecting arts and crafts items- this is the last step but the event is not over, keep collecting the arts and crafts to unlock everything!

If you want to speed up a collecting arts and crafts action it will cost you SPs, you will get the bonus gems as well if you speed it up!

Constructor Coins

You earn constructor coins by:

Personal Progress prizes

Completing Daily Goals

Coin Plant Patches

Earning Construtor Coins? Previously on these events I used social points on the Mega Spin Plant to win constructor points. I earn social points by completing the cooking hobby and earning LPs, I can then turn the LPs into SPs using the social point plant on a normal garden patch- this was when it cost 5LPs- the social point plant now costs 20LPs so you may want to try the option below first instead:

Or you can use 450 candles for the Spin Plant (a good way to use up any spare candles) which will also earn you constructor coins but the amounts are less than they are from the Mega Spin Plant

What is the minimum and maximum amount of coins you can earn on the mega spin plant? The minimum is 10 and the maximum is 500

Laura Craft? You may have noticed at the front of one of your houses there is a board with a bubble of a person holding arts and crafts items above it, this is Laura Craft, you can buy her for real money to help you complete the event. When you buy her, you select the item you want her to make from the options: 200 candles,  300 pottery, 450 jewelry or 500 glassware (the amounts seem to differ for most of you and I have no idea why that is!) (you will unlock all the options once you have unlocked all the stations) and you will be able to collect them after 2 hours.

Do I think she is worth it? They have improved Laura Craft a lot since the first event (although it would be great if she made constructor coins) she used to be able to collect every 8 hours, they have now changed this to 2 hours so she is more useful now so if you are struggling then you may want to splash out and give her a try but remember you will only get her for this event, you will have to buy her again to use her for a live event in the future.

If I brought Laura Craft in the last event do I get her for free or do I have to buy her again? You have to buy her again for this event.

  1. Don’t know if I can reply to this address, but I need to ask something about your salon at the chalet. How do you add extra walls inside ( like for the toilet cubicles)? I can’t seem to add extra walls/rooms inside an existing room.

    Please advise if you can?

  2. I was excited about this event until I saw that everything costs LP or SP (and are really expensive). That’s disappointing 😦 Thank you for your updates tho, this blog is the best!

  3. You actually can use the indoor balcony in any house. You can take it out of the snow chalet, put it in your inventory, and place it in another house. Just a note. But it looks incredible. Did you submit it as an architect home? You should! I would honestly LOVE to buy it!!!!

    • Yes I am aware of this but I really wanted to use the snow chalet as I just love it! Thanks! I couldn’t submit it because it was on the early access version but I will build it again if I manage to complete the event!

      • Early access just means that I get access to the update before it is released so I can create posts and videos before they are released in the game to help you all straight away as soon as a quest or event is released instead of you haven’t to wait for me to complete it first. You can use these posts to help you complete events and let you know what the prizes are like.

      • Hi! I tried taking the indoor balcony out of the chalet to place it in my inventory but it wouldn’t let me click on it… I tried the house section, furniture section, etc, but none of them work. Do you know how to do it?

      • Once you stored it you should be able to find the landing in the stairs section of your inventory and then like stairs you place it on the floor below so if you place it on the ground floor you will see through to the ground floor from the second floor.

  4. Hi, which time option do you prefer to use when collecting arts and crafts? Like which is the best choice. I do the 2hr 30 min option.

  5. Do you have any particular system as to what items you buy first? I have a couple I can buy right now but I don’t know if I should buy them now or wait until the end. Thanks!

      • Yeah, that’s what I do as well! I’m looking forward to unlocking the long hairstyles for my female sims before unlocking anything else. Any tips on getting constructor coins fast? That seems to be what I am struggling with.

      • Unfortunately they don’t make constructor coins easy to get, you need to keep making as many candles as possible and then use all the spare candles on the spin plant.

  6. Hello there, I just wanted to say that I’ve been fallowing your posts for over a year now, I believe you also have some sort of Wiki page with a free play guide. Thank you so much for this 😁 It absolutley helps.

    • You’re welcome, I’m glad it helps! I don’t have a wiki page, they tend to take information from sources and put it in one place so they have probably gathered information from here 🙂

  7. When you unlock the salon at the end of the event, can you create your own hairstyles or is it merely decorative? Thanks!

  8. Are the hairstyles unlocked for teens as well or just adults? I really have been wanting long hair for my teenage sims. Are they just for adults?

  9. How do you use up spare constructor coins? I cannot purchase any rewards because I have too many constructor coins. I dunno how to get rid of them.
    Please help!

  10. The next time there’s a live event like this, will I have to re-unlock pottery, jewelery, and glassware stations? Or will I be able to use them straight from the start?

  11. I did not purchase as i went along and now i do not have enough wrenches. Is there anyway to get them? I do not have the option to spin on the plant now.

    • Has the spin plant turned into a normal garden patch? If so buy another one from the event tab of the home store so you can keep using your candles to spin and earn constructor coins, the plant really is one of the only ways you can earn them.

  12. Hi, so do due to a progress issue, I wasn’t able to start until today with only five days remaining, I really want the washing hair station and the second male and female hair, do you think this will be possible to achieve or have any tips to go as fast as possible? Thank you!

  13. HAPPY NEw YEAR and thanks for all the hard work you put in to help us without our game experience

  14. Do you think they will ever bring back the Tropical Romance Island or the Magical Rainforest? I wasn’t able to complete the island and the only time I have seen the magical rainforest was when you had to pay $50 to access it.

    • 50?! That’s a lot! The tropical romance island has been brought back before so that will probably be back again one day but I am not sure about the magical rainforest as that was part of a Christmas quest and those don’t usually get repeated.

  15. What can you do with construction coins? I have hundreds from this event but no clear reason as to why I should want them

  16. Can I use the spin plant to turn my candles into cc, during the time I’m not allowed to earn anymore items?

  17. this is my second event, im still a newbie when i did french live events and heartbroken when i didn’t win the chateau lol! then i discover this blog if just i discover this gem earlier.. i just wanna say thanks for your hard work i already win the salon today ( or is this event is quite easy compare to french event? ) but still thank you!!!

  18. Hi. I am really struggling to earn enough glass crafts. I got enough from anything else, also many constructor coins. I have anything I need to purchase all the items, but not enough glass crafts. Is it possible to get or built them somewhere/somehow else ?
    Thank you

    • If you have enough social points you can use them to purchase the rest of the glassware you need (it will say get requirements on the pack and say how many SPs it will cost you) but personally I have one pack to go and it would cost me 44SPs to unlock it but I am going to wait for them to bring the event back again and I will complete it then without spending SPs!

  19. Hi, thank you for the helpful post! I just have one question. How do you build the Snow Chalet you mentioned?

    • You’re welcome! The snow chalet was the prize for completing the Christmas Quest in the time limit, that quest is no longer available so if you didn’t complete it you won’t be able to get the chalet.

  20. Thanks for your post, it was really helpful. I almost completed the event, with the exception of a few prizes. I did pretty well!! I also used the items I earned to create my own salon, which I am pretty proud of. Is there any chance you might be able to take a look at my salon and give me some pointers?? Maybe I could email you some photos of it and you could give some tips?? Thanks, let me know:)

  21. Anyone else having server connection issues? I’m not able to get back into the game and time is running out on the live event. so frustrating!!!

  22. Why did I only get 3 days on this? I’ve been playing The Sims Freeplay for a while now and it never let me do it for 10 days. I think the update came to my Android phone late… so unfair.

  23. Thank you for all of your hard work each quest time! I use your guides to plan out my game play…when to use LPs to skip past short tasks to get the longer tasks while im sleeping or at work and to make sure I have enough time to complete things. Even though I thought I planned well for this event, I was still very far behind (too much sleeping in on winter break!!) And ended up using so many SPs it hurt…should’ve waited for a reboot event to catch up, but oh well. I did get the snow chalet thanks to your guide!

  24. I just completed the grooving guru quest and now I am doing the aerobics event. It just started and I am left with 6 more days, but what will happen to the progress of the aerobics event if the street smarts takes place in just 3 more days? I am just scared that I could not be able to unlock all the activewear 😦 😦 😦

    • Just concentrate on the aerobics event you are on first, time limited hobby events return so you will be able to do the street smarts event when you are ready in the future 🙂

  25. The game wont let me use any of my open stands but the candles. Is there anyway to fix it.

    • I am having the same issue too. I have previous unlocked all the stations and the progress bar shows this but when I click on the stations it tells me it is locked and to check the progress bar. Frustrating, it happened on a previous quest to and I spent days just collecting candles and constructor coins for nothing 😣

  26. I had already finish the live event, but never used any of my items. Now that I look for them they are nowhere to find.. Do they go away if we don’t use them?
