Happy New Year Everyone! This brand new live event unlocks items for small dogs and puppies and if you complete the whole event in the 10 day time limit you even unlock a pug! This event starts on the 1st January

This event is only here for 10 days and the aim of it is to collect enough arts and crafts items from the arts and crafts stations (found in the event tab of buy mode) to unlock all the items in this event
NOTE: if you did another Live Event then you will find your arts and crafts stations in your inventory (or in the house you left them at) you will only be able to use the candle ones until you unlock the other stations in this event
Can’t find your arts and crafts stations? Click on the craft station in your event tab to get the option to find your station, it will take you to the house where your stations can be found!

Place a crafting station (find the candle station in the events tab of buy mode (or your inventory)- you can only buy 4)
Make some arts and crafts items (click on the candle station to make)- 23 seconds
This takes you to the prize progress tab (you can get to it by clicking on the pug event button in the corner of the screen)
Here you will see you have collected enough items to unlock the fetching frisbee! When you unlock each pack, before the items are available in your home store you need to purchase them with the arts and crafts items you make- this goal is coming up!
Restock a crafting station (when the stock runs out you will have to restock before you can make anymore arts and crafts items)- You can restock instantly for 18 uses for 10SPs or restock for 2 uses which will take 10 seconds this time
Buy the fetching frisbee (click on the pug event button, scroll down and click purchase- this will cost you 50 candles)
Use a coin flower patch (buy the coin flower patch from the event tab and select the spin plant option)
Check the daily goals (click on the scissor event button and find the daily goals tab- claim the ones you can!)
Remember to claim your rewards each day!
Collect bonuses (while collecting after a certain amount of time you will see the arts and crafts item appear above that sims head, click to collect the bonus item!)
Continue collecting arts and crafts items- this is the last step but the event is not over, keep collecting the arts and crafts to unlock everything!
If you want to speed up a collecting arts and crafts action it will cost you SPs, you will get the bonus gems as well if you speed it up!

- Collect 1260 Glass- 8 hours 30 minutes
Restocking
Each station (apart from the first candle one) comes with a stock of 9 which means you can use the station 9 times before it needs to be restocked (if you got your stations out of your inventory they will all need restocking first (apart from the first candle one)) When you need to restock you will have two options:
- Restock 18 uses which happens instantly but will cost you 10SPs
or
- Restock 9 uses which will take you 2 hours 30 minutes but will be free
NOTE:
- if you store the station you will lose all the stock so when you place it again you will need to restock
- if you cancel making something using a station you will lose that stock so if you had one stock left and then you cancelled that action you would need to restock before you can create anymore arts and crafts items
Your Progress:
Click the pug button in the top corner of your game to see your progress
Daily Goals
Check on the first tab every day because if you complete all the daily goals you will get additional constructor coins
NOTE: remember to click CLAIM once you have completed a daily goal to collect the reward and remember to claim your free constructor coins and free items each day!
Prize Progress
The prize progress is how far you have got on this event, the more arts and crafts items you make the more prizes you will unlock
NOTE: the bar at the top of the personal progress tab shows you how close you are to unlocking an item, the more arts and crafts items you collect the more the bar will fill up. Once you have unlocked an item on the bar at the top you will be able to use the arts and crafts items you have collected and constructor coins to purchase that pack which you will then be able to find in the home store.
Prizes: all prizes except the Pug Life Pack can be found in the pet section of the store once purchased

All dogs can play with the pig toys but only puppies and pugs can use the tug of war toys

Use the pet wardrobe to enter the Pet Salon and buy clothes for your pets

You will need the pet store to buy the pug, the first one is free after this they cost 120SP each, the pug outfit can be found in the pet salon costing S1,000 and the matching female adult outfit is in the wardrobe under outfits
I really love the prizes but they are all really expensive!

Earning Constructor Coins? Previously on these events I used social points on the Mega Spin Plant to win constructor points. I earn social points by completing the cooking hobby and earning LPs, I can then turn the LPs into SPs using the social point plant on a normal garden patch- this was when it cost 5LPs- the social point plant now costs 20LPs so you may want to try the option below first instead:
Or you can use 450 candles for the Spin Plant (a good way to use up any spare candles) which will also earn you constructor coins but the amounts are less than they are from the Mega Spin Plant
What is the minimum and maximum amount of coins you can earn on the mega spin plant? The minimum is 10 and the maximum is 500
Now on the coin flower patch you can see the chances of getting the different combinations on each spin plant, click on the green i button to see:
Laura Craft? You may have noticed at the front of one of your houses there is a board with a bubble of a person holding arts and crafts items above it, this is Laura Craft, you can buy her for real money to help you complete the event. When you buy her, you select the item you want her to make from the options: 200 candles, 300 pottery, 450 jewelry or 500 glassware (the amounts seem to differ for most of you and I have no idea why that is!) (you will unlock all the options once you have unlocked all the stations) and you will be able to collect them after 2 hours.

Do I think she is worth it? They have improved Laura Craft a lot since the first event (although it would be great if she made constructor coins) she used to be able to collect every 8 hours, they have now changed this to 2 hours so she is more useful now so if you are struggling then you may want to splash out and give her a try but remember you will only get her for this event, you will have to buy her again to use her for a live event in the future.
If I brought Laura Craft in the last event do I get her for free or do I have to buy her again? You have to buy her again for this event.

I’m looking at prices for new content in Sims Nobile and Free play and wondering if the team is doing okay. It’s quite high for the simplest things.
Wondering if I need to have built the salon to do this event? I haven’t yet and haven’t got enough simoleons!
No the salon isn’t needed for this, if you unlock the outfit you will still get it once you build the salon
I have not played in a long time and am quite overwhelmed with all the new stuff.
I was just wondering. If I have not built the pet salon and unlocked the stuff in this live event, can i still purchase the items when i have enough simoleons to build the salon? I needed 800k simoleons and i’m down to 300k when i purchased the private island.
Yes you will still get the outfit from the pet salon once you get around to building it.
I was excited at first until I looked through the prizes…they’re all for dogs. My sims like myself are cat people. I only have a couple of dogs for the occasional weekly task. Cat stuff would be nice.
I’m hoping they are planning a similar one of cats too!

The 2 hour 30 minute one is your best option if you can play that often as you will earn the most arts and craft items that way. You’re very welcome, I’m glad it helps!
I’m really upset with thus event. I spent 29 dollars even got Laura Craft. I still didn’t have enough to get the very last thing. Thinking these are just a rip off. I’m still to finish one.
Honestly I don’t like live events as they are just impossible to complete in time, in future I would recommend saving your money and just wait until the event returns

So, I got the pug of war package but can not use it with my dog. I’m not sure if it’s a glitch or if you have to use a certain aged sim with it. Any advice? Also, I love your blog so much! I always cone here first whenever I’m doing a quest/live event for sims freeplay

Am I just getting bitter or have the last few live events required a lot more candles for the prizes? I usually save up the candles only spending enough to get the 10 from the spin plant for the daily goals and then will purchase all the candle prizes so then I can just use them for the spin plant after that and it just seems like it’s taking longer to achieve that.
It also probably doesn’t help that I’m having issues with my device charging and staying charged so I’m missing collections which can also be skewing things for me.
I also think it’s a bit much to do the task to get the prizes just to then charge us social points for the majority of them. It seems like a lot of the prizes cost 10SP after the initial free one or an insane amount of simoleans. It takes me at minimum about 7 minutes (average) to finish the cooking hobby. I can maybe get it down to four minutes if I use 20 sims (which isn’t possible during most events due to needing the sims to complete event task) but it just seems to be such a daunting task after you do it so long that getting 20 LP to then use them to get maybe get 7 SP at most just isn’t worth it. I definitely appreciate the addition of the dishwasher even more for these cooking hobby extravaganzas I have though. haha
I really didn’t intend to vent but a lot of my games (not just sims freeplay) seem to be getting progressively harder and thus a lot less relaxing to play and it’s making me bitter because I’m not enjoying them much anymore but have also put a lot of time and effort into them and don’t want to quit. Even though I understand from a business aspect that they need to make money, I don’t think it should be at the detriment of the people who signed up with the notion that they wouldn’t have to pay to play.
I haven’t commented in a long time so I also wanted to add that I greatly appreciate this blog and the time you take to create the post that have helped me on countless occasions. I also like the new look and appreciate the changes you made.

I was thinking the same! It used to be only about 10,000 candles that we needed to buy the packs but now it seems to be over 20,000 which like you said means we have less to use on the spin plant so less of those annoying constructor coins we need! I have never been a fan of live events and they have always been impossible so I am not really surprised that they have decided to make them harder.
Again I completely agree about the prices of items, they are getting ridiculously high, while making the buy mode furniture catalogue it gave me the chance to look back over the prizes and prices and you can definitely see the difference between event items a few years ago and now, I just don’t get it

I have unlocked the prices like the frezebee and the beds but they do not show on home store. I haven’t bilt nrather the salon or the pet store.
I don’t think the pet section shows until you build the pet store but once you have built it you will find them in the store.

FYI All adult dogs can’t play with the tug of war toys or toy boxes, guess for pugs only (they can play with frisbee, pig toys and chews). I don’t know about puppies as don’t have any yet.
That is annoying, in the early access version the greyhound could use the tug of war and the toy box but puppies can definitely use all the items still.
Hi, will this event come again? I started the event late and got so close to finishing it, but sadly was unable to.
Live events do return so it will probably be back again one day

Hi please help! I’ve unlocked and purchased everything in this event except the last Item so I am unable to get the pug! I’ve played the game day and night so not sure how I didn’t accumulate enough arts and crafts! Is there a way I can still unlock the pug and purchase the last item without paying $150 and purchasing over 1,000SP to do so? Very annoying when I’ve been playing flat out!
Unfortunately the only way without spending such a large amount of money is to wait until they bring this event back again in the future, you start from where you got to so you will be able to complete it quickly next time
