The Sims Freeplay- Missing Claus Christmas 2018 Quest

THIS QUEST IS OVER

Are you ready to save Christmas in the 2018 Christmas Quest? There are 13 sets of goals to complete in the 13 day time limit so there is a set of goals to complete each day, if you complete the quest in the time limit you win the gorgeous Farmhouse template! Make sure you update your game to the 2018 holiday update to be able to start this quest

You have to wait between completing each set so you complete one set per day, after completing a set you have to wait for a certain amount of time before being able to continue with the quest unless you are behind then you will move straight onto the next set once you have completed the previous.

Watch my step by step walkthrough video of this quest here

TIP: there are lots of tasks that need to be done more than once, use the maximum sims you can to complete the task, if you just use one sim you will run out of time

NOTE: it is not possible to build a house with the veranda (roofed porch) it is currently only available on the Farmhouse

The only difference between the Farmhouse on a standard and a premium is the garden and one different object in the basement. You still get the chicken coop, table and barn on the premium like you do on the standard, you just get an extra picket fenced area on the premium:

The standard comes with a candle in the basement and the premium has a lamp to match the one on the other table:

I think I prefer this house on the standard rather than the premium as I don’t think we really need the extra picket fenced area that you get with the premium

Watch my house tour of the Farmhouse here:

You also unlock the A- Frame Roofing which is a new style of roofing for all your houses:

I think they have done an amazing job on this quest and the prizes this year, the farmhouse is gorgeous and I really love so many of the items we unlock in this quest but as usual the prices are just too expensive- at least not everything costs social points this year as they did last!

Merry Christmas to you all!

190 thoughts on “The Sims Freeplay- Missing Claus Christmas 2018 Quest

  1. Thank you for this walk through and all the others you have done. You are my first stop! On day 7 I will probably be asleep when the last task, waking sleeping elf, finishes. Will I still get credit tomorrow morning when I open the game?

    • So will my Sims find just one sleigh piece each time, or something is it like the coal where they find more than one at a time? If it’s just one at a time, I’m not going to get the house in time I don’t think (as of this post there’s 35 hours left to complete it). I’ve spent all my life points with no more money to buy more. I’m going to be so upset if I don’t win it, I really want it 😭😔

  2. Hi. I followed all the suggestions. It would not let me give soup no matter what I did. So I thought to try to force close the game, which I did, and then it let a sim give soup immediately.

    • Forced stop worked for me as well. I accessed it via settings under app of my device. I also restarted my device.

Thank you for the tip. I’m catching up by using lps due to loss time.

  3. I’m on day 7 and I’m not able to give ms Claus the soup it anyone have advise. I’m already on that part of the quest

  4. For some reason, my ‘Missing Claus’ quest only gave me 8 days to complete it. Now I only have six days to complete the quest and I want to know it it’s possible to beat in six days or not without using lp. I hope it is, because I really want to win the farmhouse. Also, I have only four adult sims. Will that interfere or slow down the process in any way? Thx

  5. What items from this quest will be available through in app purchase?

I know, the stairs, Bedroom pack, & kitchen counters?

Do you know if they’ll have us purchase the White/Beige planters and Bathroom Pack items as well?

    • I kind of went here to ask the same question you did, or rather in relation to it.
I just got the bathroom pack, although when I did I only got one of each item, it didn’t actually unlock anything. Since you seem like you would get the packs as well, if you did, did you get a proper unlock or was it just the items? Because if it is the latter, I am going to be really annoyed. I am willing to pay money for the unlock, but absolutely not for just one of each item. That would be seriously cheap of EA/Firemonkey. Those packs are not that cheap, if it cost like 2-3 euro, it might MAYBE be worth it, but not what I paid for it. The overprized wallpapers was unlocked though. And in related “seriously EA?”, why do they have to cost LPs? That’s really not cool.
      #whiningmakesthingsbetter

  6. hi im a bit confused but do the new days start at the same time every day? and then how long do we have to complete the daily tasks before time runs out?

    • Yes they will start at the time you started on the first day so for example you start at 7am and complete the days goals by 11pm you will have to wait until 7am to start the next day. However you don’t need to complete each set in a certain time, if you run into the next day you won’t get the task to wait it will go straight onto the next day once the previous is complete. You just need to complete all goals before the 13 day time limit is up to get the farmhouse

  7. I’m at the point where I need to give Mrs Claus the soup… but none of my Sims are at Santa’s House. How do I get back there to give her the soup??

  8. I have tried twice to collect the onions. The first time I didn’t stay away from the house. The second time I did. I’ve even grown extra. I grew onions in 13 patches. No luck. 😦

  9. Will the new house only fit on the larger lots? Would some of the scenery get cut off if I build the farmhouse on one of the smaller lots?

  10. When digging for coal, my 4 sims only found 1 each. If it takes 3 five hour sessions to find 12, I’m in trouble timewise!!! ☹️

  11. I haven’t been getting updates since the bump-y ride, but before they came automatically. I only found out about the Christmas quest because of your post (thanks!). Any idea why some devices no longer get the updates?

  12. Super helpful blog as usual, thank you. Pity EA have made nearly everything we earn from this quest so expensive (costing LP’s and SP’s), I won’t be able to use most of it past the 1 free. Sims freeplay seems to be going the way of Sims mobile, where they just want us to spend more and more money. Plus am playing with glitches in my game where it crashes multiple times a day and my nurse sim won’t complete the ward task, but tech support have been a complete waste of time and couldn’t care less if they tried! Don’t think I’ll be playing much longer.

  13. I finished the quest. but now I am having trouble making my town stop snowing, is there any way I can make it stop because I’m not a big fan of snow, and I really don’t want my park and schools, and work places covered in snow. Thank you!

  14. I have 9 hours left to complete the quest but the final task still has 11 hours left to finish. Will I still get the house since the objective will be done by the time I next use the game or will I not get it?

  15. Man I’m so close to unlocking the farmhouse. I don’t have enough LP for the 12 hour one. Even though I don’t complete the quest within the time limit will I still be able to continue the quest till finish? Looks like I only got the prizes. Except for the farmhouse. So totally want the new roof. I hate using the same old roof all the time.

  16. One more thing can someone put the farmhouse on sale through the architect homes tab? I would like to purchase it on the architect homes tab.

  17. If they ever ask for your opinion, tell them it’s very frustrating to have short tasks at the beginning of the challenge and day, like resetting at midnight or 1 AM with 30 minute tasks, and super long task at the end of the challenge.

Some of the daily task I was waiting hours to get the next day challenge. When they put longer tasks at the end, you can’t even catch up without spending $, because the challenges at the end are so time-consuming and in this case because of the Christmas holidays I was getting ready for company and spending hours baking and prepping food IRL. Now I’m really angry I stayed up late to finish short tasks.u

  18. Hi 😀 Unfortunatelly i overslept today and didn’t finished the quest in time 😦 Do you think that the quest will be repeated next year so that it will be a possibility to get the farmhouse? Were all of the previous holiday quest repeated or were there one time?

  19. Sorry to use your comment space to vent, but I’m so annoyed at myself (and a little bit at Firemonkeys) right now. So I had only the say farewell to Santa bit left and being stingy I was going to wait until it was right after the 3 LP mark. Only I FELL ASLEEP. And missed out on the farmhouse. So I feel like I just wasted 13 days of my life for no reason. It’s stuff like this (not even being able to fall asleep like a normal human being) that make the game no fun sometimes. Yes I know it’s my fault for not realizing it might happen and just giving up that extra LP but also I do feel like the devs really need to have some kind of fail safe in this situation (like maybe allow the use of time extensions on these quests) and they also just need to be a little more practical in general. I feel like they’ve started to get really greedy lately (for example the Sim Town Market events are now impossible in my opinion) and considering they’re already not a newer game out there on the market and considering what greed has done to Sims Mobile userbase, they should probably cool it. I’m annoyed enough that I don’t even want to look at my game right now let alone toss any money down on the rest of the Farmhouse furniture they have for purchase. I just want the house. (Sigh but it’s just a virtual house and I’ll get over it eventually I suppose.)

  20. So I technically completed the quest. I was on the VERY last step which was having 6 sims eat dinner for 12 hours (this was to get the house with A frame) I had 14 hours left on my clock. So I should have gotten the quest completed and gotten the house. BUT! I check back just after that time, because it was at 11 at night, and it says I failed. Even though my sims would have completed the task in the background. What kind of cheap shot is that? It didn’t do that with the other days?

  21. All in all I did enjoy this quest a lot, but I’m sorry— the “wait until day whatever” limitation was kinda bad. I spent actual money to buy LP for many of the days so I could work my job, prepare for the holidays, and still participate in the quest. The last day being on Christmas Eve was unrealistic for anyone to complete, I had so many other obligations and when I finally laid down to look at it just after midnight it had expired. Pretty disappointing. I think they should offer people who made it through part of day 12 some holiday leaniency and a second chance 😦

  22. I had completed this quest on time and saved to move to new device and it took me back to day 10 not sure what happen or why asked firemonkeys to look into it but nothing. Do you think this will be brought back as a repeat event??? Thanks for all the useful helps and tips you provide.

  23. I love the house, but am disappointed that the balcony railing and the verdanda are not available on their own, at least for this template. I put the house on a premium lot so I could expand it, but can’t expand the veranda. Also I added a second balcony and couldn’t use the same railing to match.
Also the artwork and rustic items are pretty limited which is a shame because I really like them, unfortunately I can’t get more to fill out my expanded house. I wish there was a way for them to unlock these items just for use in this house template. I’d love more beds, bathroom fixtures, and artwork.

Overall I think they did a great job, but they didn’t leave much room to get create and expand their template.
