Unlock classic rustic and distressed decor in the Shabby Chic update! Keep reading to find out what is happening in the latest Sims Freeplay update
I didn’t receive an early access build for the Shabby Chic update as The Sims Freeplay team are hard at work creating something big for the following update that needs all hands on deck! This means I am unable to take my usual screenshots and don’t have all the information I normally would, for example, the cost of items once unlocked in the game. I will only be able to add this information once it is live and I can complete these events on my own game.
NEW & RETURNING INFLUENCE ISLAND EVENTS
Influence Island Season 26: Shabby Chic Kitchen (no longer available) starts on the 3rd May for 10 days
These aren’t all the grand prize items in this event, some of the images weren’t the best quality so I haven’t been able to use them
RETURNING- Influence Island Season 7: New York Bedroom (available now) starts on the 26th May for 10 days
If you started it before but didn’t finish it you will start from the beginning (the clan progress will also be reset), if you unlocked any of the prizes before you will earn a free one of each in buy mode

SimChase Season 41: Competing Cottages! (no longer available) starts on the 3rd May for 9 days

NEW LIVE EVENT
The Lovely Lattices Live Event (no longer available) will begin on the 13th May for 10 days, complete in the time limit to unlock the Lovely Lattices house template

NEW PREGNANCY EVENT
There are new time limited prizes when you complete the 9 day pregnancy event in the time limit and earn the baby bonus between the 26th May- 11th June
If you start the 9 day pregnancy event anytime during the time frame you have the chance of earning the maternity items in that pack if you complete the event in the time limit, for example if you start a pregnancy event on the 11th June and complete in the time limit you will earn the items above
You need to have completed the first pregnancy event in the A Bump-y Ride Quest before you can earn the maternity prizes
Returning Quests and Events?
The Styles of Time Quest (available now) will be returning as a Player Favourite Quest* between the 12th-25th May complete this quest in the 6 day time limit to unlock hairstyles and hats for your adult sims

*What is a Player Favourite Quest? You will be able to start these within an open period date when they return if you haven’t completed it already. These are optional so you will need to click on the green play button next to the title of the event in the active tasks tab to start.
The Cafe Grande Live Event (available now) will be back from the 31st May for 10 days, complete in the time limit to unlock cafe themed items and the cafe template

The Boutique Hair Hobby Event (not available yet) will return on the 5th June for 7 days, complete the fashion designer hobby 9 times to unlock all 9 hairstyles for your female adult sims (the link is to the post from last time this event was available, I will create a new post when it returns)

- Some short actions in the game can now be skipped for free rather than costing LP, you will see the blue fast forward button next to these actions:
- 3 Star Wars packs will be returning between 3rd May- 13th June which can be claimed from the online store for FREE (you will not be able to claim them again if you already have them)

So, I only got the update today (the 4th) and here’s what I’ve noticed so far:
– Architect homes have disappeared for me
– The weekly tasks and the Simtown market event were both reset while I was maybe 1/3 of the way through both. I don’t think that happened before on previous updates. I think they usually time it to happen in between.
– Interactions between Sims and with Sim-eating plants (maybe other types?) have a new option that completes the action right away. You can see it before selecting the action where an icon resembling this [⭲] alternates with the original one. Once the action is selected, it flickers between the [⭲] icon and “Free”, both on a blue background.
– I think the only option I previously had for a toaster was “Cooking” if I’m not mistaken… In any case, there are now my options for a toaster; “Plain Toast”, “Fancy Toast”, “Parp Tarts” and “Make avocado toast” but the latter only seems to appear for some Sims 🤔🤷♂️
-Architect homes should be back by now, they were unavailable for a few days but did return
-That is strange, I am not sure what happened there as they don’t usually reset after updating!
-This is available on many short actions, it allows you to skip without costing LP. I have added this information to the post.

I figured it out! “Make avocado toast” only appears to some Sims because it seems to be linked to their life dreams. It only shows up for those with Sporty life dreams 😉

whats the little blue fast forward button about? if you click on it it speeds up the action but only shows up on somethings?? do you know anything about it?
This allows you to skip the action for free rather than costing you LP, it is only available on some short actions.
I hope they make the vanity a place-able-on item, it can be more elegant if only we can place the table-top combs, and the little table-top mirror on the two empty spots of it.

I don’t know what the something big is yet, those were the words I was asked to use to explain why we weren’t able to have an early access version for this update so we will have to wait and see!
I reckon the “something big” is palm promenade. If so, that’s great as I’ve nearly finished sandy suburbs

Hey, I noticed that I already had some items of the shabby chi update in an other set of color but I don’t remember from which update it comes from ? did you notice that ?
Which items did you already have?
When it states that you have 2 days left for cafe grande live event (I have 4 currently), are those days for collecting remaining items and you stop producing items via the stations? Or do you still get to produce the items in stations in the remaining 2 days but have extra day or so to collect any remaining items as the event is over?

You won’t be able to make any more arts and craft items or constructor coins during these two days, they are just for purchasing any packs you can and didn’t purchase during the event.
