9 Years of The Girl Who Games

Today I have been blogging for 9 years, it still feels like yesterday when I sat down to write my first post not expecting anyone to read it but 9 years later and this blog has had over 93 million views!

The past few years have been very difficult for me, for those of you who don’t know my mum died early 2021 and this year I was diagnosed with depression. My mum was my best friend and I miss her every single day, I spent 2021 keeping busy, bottling it up, not thinking about it and this year it became too much. I felt lost, overwhelmed by even the simplest of tasks and isolated myself.

The good news is I got help and today I am feeling much more like my old self, I still have a long way to go but things are looking brighter.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for sticking with me over this hard time, I know I haven’t been around much recently and I hate letting you all down but I had to focus on myself.

Looking to the future; I’m committed to keeping this blog up to date, I will try harder to reply to comments quickly and some posts will be getting a refresh including my catalogue posts (there will be more catalogue posts, covering separate aspects of the game so they load better and are easier to keep updated!)

Thank you again for your support and kindness for the past 9 years ๐Ÿ’›

8 Years of The Girl Who Games- Sims Freeplay Contest Winners!

Thank you everyone who entered my Sims Freeplay contest to celebrate 8 years of The Girl Who Games, I received a lot of really great entries!

The winners are..

Favourite Room: Nanna with Nature Inspired Room

I picked this room because it looks like a relaxing bedroom, full of nature and wooden furniture. I would love to spend time here!

Favourite Sim: Dominic with Jean-Paul LeBlanc

I picked this sim because Jean-Paul means a lot to Dominic, he was the first sim he created and is the character in a story Dominic writes. It is great that this sim inspires creativity and provides happiness whenever Dominic opens the game!

The winners have been contacted and have received their SP or LP prize. Thank you again for everyone who entered and a big thanks to The Sims Freeplay team for making this contest possible!

8 Years of The Girl Who Games

Today I have been blogging for 8 years however it feels very difficult to celebrate after the year I have had. I would firstly like to apologise for being so absent, for those of you who don’t know my mum died in January so this blog hasn’t been my main priority. On this day in previous years my mum made me a ‘Happy Blogday’ cake, my blog anniversary was in her important dates diary so she never forgot. I know a lot of you are still waiting for replies to questions asked long ago and I have no right to say I have been very helpful recently but I am trying hard to change that although to be honest I still have many days where I don’t really want to talk to anyone.

Most importantly I would like to thank all of you for your continued support, some days your kind words really help me get through. It may seem like I have given up on this blog but I have no intention of doing that, in the past couple of weeks I have noticed my motivation returning so hopefully that will continue in the months ahead.

To celebrate 8 years I am holding a Sims Freeplay Create a Sim & Building Contest, click here to find out all about it

News: I’m Back!

As a lot of you know my mum died in January and I took some time off. Today I will start working on my blog again- I have a lot of comments to reply to as well as content to make so please be patient while I get through it all.

I also want to say a huge thank you to everyone who sent me messages of support at this difficult time, it means so much to me and I am so lucky to know all you genuinely lovely people ๐Ÿ’›
