A lot of events in the game are now time limited so you will have a certain amount of time to complete an event in order to get a prize or several prizes.
This post focuses on timed hobby events and community events and contains links to all of these that have previously been on the game. There are also timed hobbies which are hobbies you unlock by completing a certain quest but these are different.
What is the difference between a timed hobby and a timed hobby event?
-Timed hobbies are ones that need to be completed for the first time in the time limit to get a prize, for example, the time limit for the Spellcasting hobby starts once you complete the Book of Spells quest
-Timed hobby events are hobbies that can be completed previously then have to be completed a certain number of times during the time limited event to unlock new items, for example, Ringlets of Fire (completing the fashion designers hobby 9 times to unlock all 9 hairstyles)
All players complete the timed hobby events at the same time
How do I manage to complete timed events in the time limit?
Before a timed hobby starts (if I know about it in advance) and throughout the event I have all my cooking sims completing the cooking hobby as much as possible to get as many LPs I can (explained in this post) I then use these LPs to either speed up the timed hobby so I can complete it as quickly as possible or I will use LPs to do lucky spins on the last row if I am running out of time.
Tips for timed events:
- I suggest having a sim complete each hobby at least one so that when a timed event starts you don’t have to waste time levelling up your sims
- Again LPs are incredibly useful for speeding up!
- And if you don’t complete the first time, don’t worry, these events usually happen again!
Does everyone start timed events at the same time?
Yes, timed hobby events are only available for a limited time and all players have to complete them in the same time period.

Community Events- these have community prizes (the more items everyone across the world collects the more prizes we all win)
You do not need neighbours to complete these events
These events require you to collect lots of a certain thing such as fruit or gems to be able to unlock and build or buy new places or items on the game.
For these events you are going to need a lot of social points to help you through as you have to speed up using SPs not LPs, so using the cooking method to earn 5LPs as mentioned above you can then use these LPs on the Social Point Plant on a garden patch to turn those into SPs without completing social tasks at a neighbours to earn them!
