This post is about pets; it will explain about dogs, puppies, cats, kittens and rabbits, what accessories you can get and how they interact with your sims. If you want to know how to buy a pet please read the Pet Store post.
REMEMBER: you can only have two pets brought from the pet store living in a house

How can I get my pet to use the accessories? Most items you click on the item and select call over, most of the time if they aren’t busy they will use it but they sometimes use items without being prompted.
NOTE: food and water bowls need to be filled up once a dog has emptied them, you can either get a sim to click on the bowl and select fill or you can store the bowl in your inventory and get it out again and it will refill.
Do you need to buy accessories? Not if you don’t want to, no. They do use them sometimes but they are mainly for decoration. It doesn’t increase their happiness if they have these items.
How do I play frisbee with a dog? To complete this task you need to buy a frisbee and place it on the ground at a house where the dog lives, a sim can then click on the frisbee and play with the dog.
Dog Hobbies
Once you complete the life dreams and legacies quest and build the pet park your dogs can partake in Dog Agility and Dog Obedience hobbies (to take a dog to the pet park they need to be wearing a collar from the Pet Salon)

complete the A Puppy Odyssey quest to unlock puppies and the Puppy Pals Hobby

When Adults, Seniors or Teens select carry puppy they will get the option to hug the pet and if they click on a chair they can also relax with the puppy:

Do puppies have accessories? Puppies don’t have their own accessories at the moment but they can use the dog accessories such as bowls, frisbees or kennels, you cannot call them to use them though, if they want to use them they choose to.

The Puppy Pals hobby is a timed hobby that unlocks once you complete the Puppy Odyssey quest

The Internet Kitten hobby unlocks once you complete the Puppy Odyssey quest
Collecting Treasure
Once you have brought the pet they will wander around the house and garden and collect treasure.
Collecting treasure using dogs
A dog will run off and a shovel bubble will appear above their head, click on it and they will dig up simoleons or LPs.
Collecting treasure using cats
A cat will run off and a exclamation mark bubble will appear above their head, click on it and they will pounce on simoleons or LPs.
NOTE: The higher the star rating of a cat or dog the more LPs and simoleons they should find
Puppies and Kittens cannot find treasure
Ageing Puppies and Kittens
On puppies and kittens when you click on them you will see the option to Age to Adult, to do this you need to bake some birthday biscuits on a stove (which cost 15LPs and take a day to cook)
Renaming a Pet
Click on the pet, select rename and you can then choose a new name for your pet
Relocating a Pet
Click on the pet, select relocate and select a sim from the list that appears, that pet will then move to that sims house
Happiness Bar
The happiness bar indicates how happy your pet is, the more unhappy they are the slower they walk and the less treasure they will find.
To make a pet happy you need a sim to click on the pet and select an option with a smiley face, for example on a dog you can shake hands or praise to increase their happiness:
Deleting a Pet
Click on the pet, select relocate and the first option is put up for adoption which will remove the pet from your game
RABBITS
can be found in buy mode under pets
What rabbits can you buy?
1 Star Rabbits cost:
- S15,000
- 12LPs
2 Star Rabbit cost:
- 20LPs
3 Star Rabbit cost:
- 30LPs
Rabbit Interactions with Sims
NOTE: the time the interactions take depends on the star rating of the pet
Adult, Teen and Preteen Options:
Senior Option:
Babies and Toddlers cannot interact with a rabbit
That is all you can do with rabbits, they do not find simoleons or LPs like dogs and cats
Can pets die?
No! Your pets don’t die, even when they are unhappy
There are a few other pets that you may have in your pet store but these are not mentioned in this post as not everyone has access to them as they were limited timed prizes
