Building the arcade requires 1 bronze geeky orb and 1 silver geeky orb

20151024-190242.jpgThis post explains how you earn orbs
Once you unlock the arcade you unlock the Arcade Gamer hobby for teens

There are two other hobbies at the arcade, Pinball Enthusiast and Skill Tester, these both require orbs to build the areas to start these hobbies:

What else can you do at the arcade?

Middle of Arcade (unlocks when you build the arcade)

Dance Mats- A sim can use the dance mat for 10 minutes on their own or another sim can join in

Foosball Area (unlocks when you build the arcade)

This area contains a foosball table for your sims to use aswell as booths to sit in and vending machines

All other areas have retro stools to sit on

Arcade Gamer has a snack vending machine and Skill Tester has a soda vending machine

 Outside

At the back of the arcade there are umbrella tables and toilets

Down the side there are benches

And by the entrance there are rocket rides for toddlers

The arcade is well worth building but there are three hobbies to complete and not much else to do. I would definitely recommend building even if you don’t complete the hobbies straight away!

Once you complete the Life Dreams and Legacies Quest you will be able to use orbs to build the Arcade, once the Arcade is built you will also need to use orbs to build the Skill Tester area (for more information please click here)

Once the skill tester machines area is built and you have a preteen sim at the arcade, click on the first skill tester machine:

  • Play ‘Bear’ Skill Tester- 1 hour

When you start you will only be able to use the first machine, you need to find all 3 different toys on bear skill tester to complete the first row in the skill tester collection to unlock the second machine to play dog and find those 3 toys to unlock doll, you then need to find the 3 doll toys to unlock the frog machine and find the 3 toys on that machine to unlock ragdoll once you have found those 3 toys you will unlock the final machine which is the piggy machine to find the last three to complete the collection

  • Play ‘Bear’ Skill Tester- 1 hour
  • Play ‘Dog’ Skill Tester- 2 hours
  • Play ‘Doll’ Skill Tester- 4 hours
  • Play ‘Frog’ Skill Tester- 6 hours
  • Play ‘Ragdoll’ Skill Tester- 8 hours
  • Play ‘Piggy’ Skill Tester- 12 hours

Once you complete the collection for the first time you can use the machines in any order but you will still need to do each option to find the different toys to complete each row

You can now complete the collection!

Once you complete the collection once you can use all 6 machines so 6 preteens can complete this hobby at once

After the time has passed come back and click the exclamation mark above your sims head to find one of the skill tester collectibles in that row. You still level up in this hobby but the hobby level up percentage isn’t important as the skill tester collectibles don’t unlock depending on your level, when you finish a row of skill tester collectibles you will unlock the ability to use the next machine to find the toys in the next row.

The table below shows you the level up reward that your sims will receive when they level up in this hobby:

LEVEL  TITLE 1st TIME LEVEL UP REWARD
1 Clawfumbler
2 Grabber 250XP
3 Prize Horder 500XP
4 Skill Bester S750
5 Machine Sweeper 10,000 Town Value
6 God of Claw 1LP

You won’t find a new collectible each time, you will get repeats, if this happens just keep going, you will find them eventually! If it is still taking too long you can use the lucky spin on the row where you cannot find the item, this will cost LPs, when you click on the LP button it will clear the row and give you a random collectible on that row so you aren’t guaranteed a new item (you will get back any other collectibles you already had in that row) Need to earn some LPs to use the lucky spin?

The completed skill tester collection is shown below, once you complete the collection you need to click ‘start a new collection’ at the top of the hobby collection screen, this clears the board so you can complete the collection again to earn more rewards (you will only get the option to restart the hobby collection when you have completed the collection):

The first time you complete a row you will unlock a new machine to find the next row of skill tester toys, further times you will earn XPs when you complete a row in the hobby but to complete the collection you need to find all 18 of the collectibles

The rewards for completing this collection are the skill tester machine and 5LP:

  • The first time you complete the skill tester collection you will unlock the skill practicer machine containing all 6 game options for your home, this costs 10SP and can be found in the electronics section:

  • From the second time onwards each time you complete the collection you will earn 5LP
