The latest Sims Freeplay update continues the family farmhouse theme and there is a big change in store. Keep reading for more information

COMMUNITY MARKET

The Community Market is the new way to earn simoleons, customers will request items that you will need to trade to make simoleons. Gardening has been moved to the community market so your sims will be able to grow seeds that customers ask for and fufill their orders to earn simoleons and other rewards, this means you can no longer grow seeds at your own houses. What else is new?

This update is the first of the ‘Freeplay Series‘ which means more than one update will have the same theme so Spring into Life is the first Family Farmhouse theme update which will continue into the next update. This allows the makers to add more items with a similar theme to the game without being restricted by how much they can fit into one update.
The in game lighting has had an update called ‘Enhanced Lighting‘ which improves the lighting on house lots, you will be able to see light streaming through windows and the warm glow of fireplaces as well as the shadows moving through different times of the day:

This feature can be turned on and off in the options settings, under graphics:

NOTE: older devices will not have this feature, you will only see the classic (original) lighting option

Lights also have more options when you click on them. Auto lights are now called sensor lights, you can turn all lights in a house on or off at the same time and night lights turn on at 7pm and off at 7am:

The Paperboy will be giving double rewards between 13th-17th March, 28th- 31st March and 17th-23rd April

‘NEW’ CHRISTMAS QUEST

Technically this Christmas quest is not new, it has a new name A Claus for Reunion and unlocks new prizes but the quest is the same story as the Hearth of Stone Christmas Quest from 2019. I am incredibly disappointed by this, the Christmas Quest is what makes the Christmas update the best one of the year, the house you unlock is gorgeous but I don’t know why no effort was put into the quest itself.

To celebrate the launch of MySims there will be a free gifts available to claim from our inbox until 4th December:

Once claimed you will find the ‘MySims DJ Candy Supergroove Decor, MySims Pigglez Decor and MySims Bobaboo Decor’ in your decoration section inventory (you only unlock one of each)

Technically this isn’t a new Sim Springs event, instead it is a new area called Rocky Heights, the event works just like a Sim Springs event. The first neighbourhood available is called Rustic Acres, read my post here for more information

The Opulent Oasis Live Event (available now) starts on 25th October for 13 days, complete to unlock resort themed items and the Regal Riad house template

NEW HAIR HOBBY EVENT

The Mane Attraction Hair Hobby Event (not available yet) will start on 31st October for 7 days, complete the fashion designer hobby 8 times in the time limit to unlock all the hairstyles for your adult sims (post coming soon!)
