  1. If you have leveled up all the way in a particular hobby, and then you lose all of the Sims who are doing that hobby, either by dying or by giving them different hobbies, the next time you have a Sim do that hobby, do you have to start from scratch to unlock each level of the hobby to get all of the collectibles? Or do all of the collectibles remain forever unlocked after the first time you level up a Sim in that hobby? By the way, I use your blog as a sort of Bible to this game… Your posts are eternally helpful! Thank you

      • When ship is coming and when we are trading with our goods, we can built the monument of goddness or sth like this. And after collecting rubin, gold and emeralds the monumet is growing and bonus of hobby points is increasing. And after doing any hobby interactions, the symbols is appearing (sth like figure of chess and number). What is it?
PS. Sorry of my bad english. I’m normally speaking polish 🙂

      • When you build the monument your hobby skill level increases so the symbol is just showing you the increase you receive.
If you are doing the fashion designer hobby and you were on level 2 (this is your hobby skill level) building the monument will help you get to level 3 faster than without the extra increase. The point of the skill level is so you can unlock the next pieces in a hobby so you can find them all.

  2. Sorry to bother you but the horse vaulting and showjumping categories aren’t working as a hyperlink on my iPad. Love the whole blog though! Xxx😀

  3. I don’t know if you got to this point, but for the broomstick flying hobby or whaterver, I wouldn’t worry about completing it in time for the magic cleaning mop. It costs $888,888 in the kitchen home store! I used a lot of LPs to finish the hobby in time, thinking that the mop will be in the 10,000s. Boy was I wrong!

  4. What do you do with the hobbies? I feel like they take forever to level up. I don’t really have the time to play a lot. Are they good for competing and getting money? Is that it? Right now all I have available are hobbies I have to go to (fishing, swim center, horses) except for sewing. It’s so annoying. 😦

  5. Do you have any idea why the ballet and karate hobbies for preteens have disappeared from my hobbies section? Thanks

  6. Is there any button/option where I can see collections? E.g. cooking spatulas and knives, artifcats, everything on general, to have some overview, or I have to wait to gain something in orser to see the whole collection?

    • I’m working on that hobby at the moment!
But as you get certain collectibles at certain times of the day and as I’m not awake in the early hours of the morning to get those ones it is going to be tricky 😛
      You’re welcome!

  7. I am a new recruit to freeplay sims but your blog has been amazing, where do you find the time!
I’m becoming a little obsessed, tonight linked to my first neighbours through your blog, wow those places are fantastic! Guess what I’ll be doing this weekend. I really like that you’ve completed the tasks and now I can set my sims on some of the stages early, poor Sam is baking for the next 20 hours, who does that!!
    Thank you, much appreciated

  8. Do you have any info on the cat show hobby? I’ve been doing it for several days but can’t get the experience level past level 1. Wondering what I’m doing wrong.

    Thanks!

  9. I just noticed there is a hockey net /puck hobby. Have you tried this one yet, I have 2 more medals to collect for my next 3LP then I’ll have a look myself ( click on the hockey net it’s self not the ice rink)

  10. Is the bowling hobby just impossible? I’ve had a Sim working on it nonstop for days without getting any new medals, even though he’s now competing at the highest level. Are you also having this problem? Thanks for all you do. This blog is incredibly helpful!!!

    • It does seem to take forever to complete the bowling hobby I agree! And have you noticed how they throw it and celebrate even if they have a gutter ball? 😛
You’re welcome, I’m glad it helps!

  11. I don’t know if you’ve made a post for bowling (I didn’t see it). When do you think you’ll be able to do that one? Thanks, btw love your posts!

  12. I just sent a SiM to the Competition center, for an Athletics Compitition which I guess you get that from the athlete job, and my sim was a 5/5 Highest level, and he got 4th place. I was expecting at least 2nd but I don’t really get how he lost so bad if he was the best he could be ;-;

    • Yeah the competition center seems to be much harsher than it used to be, previously if you were the highest level you were almost always guaranteed 1st now though you can’t always be sure what you are going to get

  13. Were there any other one-time hobby completion quests (like the hair one we just had) that could potentially come back? I don’t want to be caught at level 2 again.

  14. Can i have one sim have ANOTHER hobby after she becomes a teen? ( before hobby is seashell collecting)

  15. I love your blog, it’s. So helpful. I have a question about hobbies.
When you get a sim to the last level of the hobby, should you have them do a different hobby like the ghost hunting, then go back to the original hobby? I read on your blog about the cooking hobby and you mentioned about once leveled up to change to ghost hunting then go back to cooking…

    • I only do this for hobbies that I know I want to complete again, so I always do with cooking and ghost hunting but I don’t like the fishing hobby so I would just leave a sim at the highest level for that one

  16. I have a question about hobbies, not sure if it has been answered somewhere already or not? I currently have a preteen doing the ice skating hobby, however I am likely to make her into a teenager before she reaches level 6. Will her level remain at what it is now or will she need to start from level 1 again once she becomes a teenager?

  17. I have a preteen that does figure skating, when I age her up to a teen will she still remember everything or will she have to start from the beginning again? X

      • Hello, I wanted to commend you on taking your time out to make such a detailed and informative blog. I use it like the official bible to this game! I wanted to also let you know that I think the cooking has changed in rewards. When I completed my first collection I received a cutting board instead of 5 LP. I did your routine that you demonstrated with several sims cooking which was great btw!

  18. Hey I have a great idea for Sims Freeplay! It’s that when you complete the cooking collection you get a new clothing item for your sims and it only comes once every 3 months. There are 6 clothing items to win. Every time you complete it and get every clothing piece next time there are new clothing items! Please reply what you think about my idea.
P.S. Love your website really helpfull!!

      • Hi, weightlessmagic

I came across this question, looking for a solution because I have the same issue. In my case, it’s with the Survivalist challenge, in the campground. I clicked “not now”, and now I can’t seem to find a way to launch the quest.

While I await your answer (which is always amazingly quick!), I’ve gone ahead and assigned a Sim to the “Explore” task.

Thanks for creating this excellent site, and for all of the help you’ve given your fellow gamers! Kudos to you, Girl, you rock!

      • Yep, you have done the right thing, the explore task is how you start the hobby!
(Sorry my answer was a lot slower than normal!)
        You’re welcome, thanks 🙂

  19. Update: I just checked my app, about a day later (I’ve checked it a few times throughout the day), and the Survivalist notice is back, this time with 6 days left! Yes indeed, you had said that the timer would start even if one clicks “Not Now”. Seems that once that thing pops up, you’re scr3wed, because either button starts the timer!

      • Thanks for your responses, W.M., and no worries about the delay. You have your own life! 🙂
BTW I’ve now completed the Survivalist challenge, built the suspension bridge, and am in the process of cleaning up on the other side!

  20. Hey! Love your blog. I have a quick question! I’ve been leveling up in various hobbies for forever and just now noticed that when a sim reaches level 5 of a hobby, they earn 10,000 points for the value of your town and not XP points (which is what I thought it was). Do you know if once the sim dies, does the value go back down again? I just think it’s weird that if you have sims that are pretty good at their hobbies, the TOWN gets more value rather than like ME with XP points. Thanks!

  21. Hi. Thank you for your site. It is AMAZING and is basically my sims bible. I have a question about hobbies. I’ve read all I could find that you’ve written but don’t see this answer. Do you have a sim that can do every hobby? If not, which hobby/hobbies is/are best to let them “forget” and not have a sim for? I’m about to run out of sims to use for new hobbies.

  22. Hey! Show jumping us a hobby isn’t it? It isn’t that important but I was wondering about it maybe I wasn’t seeing it up there or if it isn’t? I REALLY appreciate your blog. It helps alot and I’ve been able to get alot of timed items because of it! Thank u! 😊

  23. I have just completed the fashion designer hobby and it said I had unlocked outfits. What does that mean? As I start the collection over, will I actually gain those items or something else?

  24. My preteen had learned karate and completed all of it. But when I leveled it up to a teen, the hobby disappeared. Will it still show that I competed it or do I need to have a new preteen complete the hobby again. And does that apply to all my sims that if a certain hobby needs to be done in their age, that I should not age a sim and just use a different sim for a new hobby to be able to keep all the hobbies.

    • It will show as completed yes
No you don’t need to do that but I would recommend completing a hobby before you age a sim, or a new sim is going to have to get to the highest level to complete the hobby that the previous sim didn’t complete. Once you have completed the hobby you can age the sim and it will remember you completed it

  25. What happens if you give a toddler a hobby and then them turn into a preteen? Do they get another hobby or something?

    • If they have a hobby they can do as a toddler and a preteen then their hobby will stay the same, if they don’t then it will say they have no hobby and you will need to pick a new one

  26. Hi, I have a question related to competition, if I have a sim that is the on highest level in one hobby (let’s say figure skating) and I started a new hobby with the same sim (broomstick flying), when there is a competition for figure skating arrives, can I still use this same sim to compete?

  27. I have finished the survivalist hobby and won all 12 badges and it said I can now unlock the suspension bridge and bird feeders. But they are still grey and locked and have not changed to green? I don’t understand.

  28. How long did you spend your time on the game to have already acquired that many hobbies? I’ve just started like a few months ago and it’s really challenging to gather everything…

  29. Is snowboarding one? I know it says you have to get a key from doing the figure skating hobby, but I haven’t got it yet.. so it a hobby? Or just something to do?

  30. Hey can i be your neighbor please…
Add my facebook “kikeiy nag’h bandits”.
Or give something i can add to be your neighbor

  31. I just started the urban furniture event and I’m wondering, if I have more than one sim doing the hobby at the same time, will it count per sim each time I complete the sets so i get more prizes? I think to unlock all the prizes it says to complete the hobby 7 times. Or do I have to only use one sim at a time and do the hobby over and over to get all the prize packages?

    • You can use as many sims as possible to complete this event, you need one to get to level 6 so you can unlock all the collectibles and then you can use as many sims as you want to find all 12 collectibles which unlocks you one of the prize packs so you will need to find all 12 collectibles 7 times to unlock all the prizes

  32. Just wanted to say how thankful I am to have found you! You’re awesome and your hard work is truly appreciated.

  33. Can I just say that this blog keeps me going in the darkest of times? Thank you. Thank you so much for the help!
