COMMUNITY MARKET

The Community Market is the new way to earn simoleons, customers will request items that you will need to trade to make simoleons. Gardening has been moved to the community market so your sims will be able to grow seeds that customers ask for and fufill their orders to earn simoleons and other rewards, this means you can no longer grow seeds at your own houses. The Combed Back Eras Hair Hobby Event (available now) will be back on 15th May for 7 days, complete the fashion designer collection to unlock hairstyles for your adult sims

The Charming Cottage Craft Challenge (Live Event) (not available yet) will be returning on 22nd May for 10 days, complete in time to unlock cottage themed items and the charming cottage house template

What else is new?

From this update you will be able to back up your game using your EA Account from Settings> Account Manager and unlock prizes for doing so! This post explains this in more details

The Paperboy will be giving double rewards between 3rd-7th May, 9th-13th May and 18th- 23rd May.

NEW PREGNANCY PRIZES

Complete the 9 day pregnancy event in the time limit and earn the baby bonus between 8th-20th April to unlock these prizes:

If you start the 9 day pregnancy event anytime during the time frame you have the chance of earning the maternity items in that pack if you complete the event in the time limit, for example if you start a pregnancy event on the 20th April and complete in the time limit you will earn the items above

You need to have completed the first pregnancy event in the A Bump-y Ride Quest before you can earn the maternity prizes

Returning event?

Belle Hotel Craft Challenge (Live Event) will be returning on 8th April for 10 days, complete in the time limit to unlock the Belle Hotel house template

What else is new?

This update is the first of the ‘Freeplay Series‘ which means more than one update will have the same theme so Spring into Life is the first Family Farmhouse theme update which will continue into the next update. This allows the makers to add more items with a similar theme to the game without being restricted by how much they can fit into one update.
The in game lighting has had an update called ‘Enhanced Lighting‘ which improves the lighting on house lots, you will be able to see light streaming through windows and the warm glow of fireplaces as well as the shadows moving through different times of the day:

This feature can be turned on and off in the options settings, under graphics:

NOTE: older devices will not have this feature, you will only see the classic (original) lighting option

Lights also have more options when you click on them. Auto lights are now called sensor lights, you can turn all lights in a house on or off at the same time and night lights turn on at 7pm and off at 7am:
