In this post I show you all of the options to increase relationships between your sims for every life stage, I have also included how many times you need to complete the options to get to the next level in that relationship.
The conversation picture will be a different colour depending on which relationship you choose, if you choose green options these are friendship, if you choose pink these are romantic and if you choose red these are rude. Not all life stages will have romantic or rude options and family members, for example, brother and sister, won’t start as strangers they will start as acquaintances and they won’t get romantic options.
The baby and the toddler have extra options such as change diaper or feed but in this post I have only included the options with the conversation picture.

I have two toddlers in my game. They were Good Friends when I read this, so I can’t test earlier relationship levels, but I did one iteration of Talk with them, and it looks like they added one sixth of the bar. My vague memories of the previous relationship upgrades is consistent with your model.

HI! Hermione again! I really want my teens to be dating, so I’ve been making them flirt LOAAADS! But they won’t become in a budding romance or any other financing stage! They’re staying as best friends!!! So frustrating! Is there anyway . Of creating a relationship? I don’t mind how long it takes I just RLLY want them 2 date!!!!!!!!

Well these are all the quests https://thegirlwhogames.wordpress.com/2014/02/11/the-sims-freeplay-main-quests/ when you have done them all and they update you get the latest quests like the horse one 🙂 but then you just spend your time gardening, baking, hobbies and sending sims to work (to level up) and building great houses!

I had the same problem. You literally have to have them flirting for almost all day before it’ll switch. My two were best friends -> budding romance about 6 hrs later
I upgraded my teen relationships through dating and serious dating by making them flirt (5 min option – and it takes a long time). The bar i not increasing after serious dating even after making them flirt and do naughty hand kiss, so i guess that’s the final level.
It took ages at first for me to go from best friends to budding romance until I used the red sofa in the restaurant. It fills up most of the bar in 8 mins. It’s soooooooo much quicker than 5 minutes of flirting because you only have to do it once or twice…

If you read the post for the next quest it says whether the prize is worth it at the bottom, if the prize isn’t worth it don’t spend LPs trying to complete it on time
Saving up for nice houses is probably your best option, you can read the houses guides on this blog to help you decide what is the best house to save up for 🙂

Hi! I realised that in order for 2 teens to develop the highest level of romance, they first must max out their romance, followed by friendship, then romance again. A new romance status would appear after you max out the friendship status. My teens have developed ‘serious date’ status, which I presume is the last stage of the relationship for romance between teens since the relationship cannot be improved anymore. But I have to agree with you, it takes really long to max out the romance between the 2 sims and it’s kinda frustrating to wait! 😦
Well i just got serious date after them just being romantic over and over and over- im so glad to hear that’s as far as it goes! 😛

Hi! I had two teens, one was teen idol, that were serious dating. When they became adults, they still show serious dating, but no matter how much romance, it will not change or give me option to move up to marry. They did not switch to good friends as I read here that they should have. Advice?
That sounds like a glitch, it should have gone to good friends, have you tried negative interactions so they dislike each other then been romantic again to see if it can fix this

I had 2 teens who were at the serious date level of their relationship but when I aged the boy to adult and went to interact with his girlfriend they were only good friends? I aged the girl aswell but had to build the romantic relationship back up. I was just wondering if you knew why this happened?

I don’t know why this happens, but I think its because you tried to interact when one of them was still a teen, as teens and adults can’t be romantic with each other

My teens entered into a budding relationship after they become best friends now im in serious date.
I had 2 teens on serious date status. I did not have them interact till they both aged and it still goes back down to good friends.
I noticed that if you have the restaurant, and go to the bar upstairs, and get two of your sims who you are trying to build a romantic relationship with to: 1st sim click on the stools and choose “scope room” and 2nd sim to click the stools and choose “hit on”, the relationship builds so quickly. It only takes 10 or 20 seconds and it got them to the max level in only like 4 tries. Very fast.
I tried it on two teens and that’s how fast it was. I did not try it on adults though.

I just had the task of making two relationships enemies, and now I’m trying to build them back to friends, but every time I have them do something like be nice or be funny, the red bar keeps going up. Why is this happening?
Just keep going, it goes up to go down if that makes sense, it fills up red but it is actually increasing their friendship
Hello, I was just letting you know that for a teenager to another teenager, they are able to get up to best friends forever. They do everything the same as what a preteen/ adult does. As for the romantic side they start off as a budding romance which turns into dating. Once in a budding romance they are able to have an awkward kiss or to keep flirting

Yes, be rude and mean and they will be able to get a divorce
I figured out a faster way to build up the relationship on the teens, instead of using the flirt use the bro shake, joke around, and chest bump and once to best friends forever the flirt seems to turn pink and move up more but still take long.

For Teen to Teen, you can raise the bar faster in a romantic sense by using “Awkward Kiss” in stead of “Flirting”. Granted that’s when the option comes up and you have to keep repeating it because it only last 3 or sometimes 7 seconds. I had trouble getting two teens to flirt until I made them best friends first. It was easier to get a romantic relationship started after that. But I do have a question and hopefully someone can help! Is there a way to get teens to move in with each other?? I have three teen couples “serious dating”, but the option to move in isn’t there. However, I’ve read online in forums that teens can move in together. Also, two of my sims were living on their own while they were pre-teens, so I figured they could move somebody in. Please help if anybody can! Thank you.

You can’t move someone in with the preteens, they will just have to live there alone and I have never been able to make teens move in together, you may just have to wait until they are adults to live together.

adults can’t be at the serious dating stage, are you sure they aren’t teens? If they are they can’t marry.

They can have two children if only the parents are also living in the house, as only 4 sims can live in a house at one time

Some quests just take a long time to do, I don’t know why.
You can’t buy them phones but when they sit down they do sometimes get a phone out and play with it.
