The Sims Freeplay- Figure Skating Event

THIS EVENT IS NOW OVER

~~The figure skating event is now on for a limited time,~~ it started on the 5th June and will only be available for 9 days

You have to complete the collection just once in the time limit to unlock the ping pong table, basketball hoop and putting green

NOTE: You will not see this quest if you have no completed the an alien concept: weather machine quest yet

The only option for figure skating is 12 hours

Some tips for completing in time:

You don’t have to complete at the snow park but you need to build the snow park to unlock this event
You can use a swimming pool and a weather machine at a house set to snow, this then makes it possible to skate on the pool. This way you can also use as many sims as you can fit on the pool

- If you do have the snow park then 4 sims can skate on the dark circles on the hockey rink

You can also send another sim to a neighbours town if you have no more space to figure skate in your town
To complete the whole collection you need one sim to get to level 6 in the figure skating hobby, I have noticed they do level up fairly quickly but if you want them to level up even faster you may need to use some LPs as speeding up the action will still level them up, this post explains a good way to make LPs fast.

Are the prizes worth it? Yes! Complete the hobby just once to unlock the basketball hoop, ping pong table and putting greens

Basketball Hoop

Where? Preteen section

Cost? First one is free, after that they cost S5,000

Who? Only preteens can use this, the option is Practice Basketball for 1 minute 30 seconds

Ping Pong Table

Where? Living Room section

Cost? First one is free, after that they cost S7,500

Who? Preteen sims and over can play ping pong. 2 sims can play together, one select practice ping pong, and the other selects play ping pong for 10 minutes

Putting Green

Where? Outdoor Furniture

Cost? First one is free, after that they cost S5,000

Who? Teen sims and over can practice putting for 2 minutes 24 seconds

The Sims Freeplay- The Rainbow Rider Quest

THIS EVENT IS NOW OVER

This quest has a time limit of seven days from the 21st February, once the 7 days are up the quest will disappear whether you have completed it or not.

The aim is to complete the showjumping hobby collection in 7 days, if you manage it you will unlock the rainbow unicorn (which from looking at the picture doesn’t look very colourful!)

You can only partake in this event if you have complete the hidden unicorn quest and have unlocked the showjumping hobby (which you do by completing both the horse tricks and vaulting hobbies)

If you have unlocked it but have never done it before the showjumping hobby post may help.

If you select yes your show jumping collection will be reset, selecting no does not stop the timer (if you said no by mistake you can still start this event, the pop up above will probably be on the showjumping hobby page)

NOTE: You need a 3 star horse to do this hobby

Win a ribbon in show jumping- 6 hours
Have 3 unique ribbons (just keep show jumping until you find 2 more different ribbons)
Have 6 unique ribbons (find 3 more different ribbons)
Have 9 unique ribbons (find 3 more different ribbons)
Have all 12 ribbons (find the last 3 different ribbons)

Is the prize worth it?

Well the unicorn will cost you 120LPs (what is it with the super expensive prizes recently EA?!)

But it can inspire a sim instantly (like using a cupcake) once it has inspired a sim it has to recharge for 1 hour before you can use it again.

The Sims Freeplay- Long Hairstyles Review

This is my review of each of the long hairstyles you can unlock from the Long Hair Event, in all these images the sim modelling has black hair but you can also get each hairstyle in brown, red and blonde.

You can find all the styles you have unlocked for free from a wardrobe, the hair salon or create a sim.

I will be rating the hairstyles from 9 to 1 with 1 being my favourite!

9. Long Cornrows– There is just something about this hairstyle that I really don’t like, I think its that there isn’t enough hair! There are a lot of empty space without any hair, the tied back cornrows I already have is so much better than this one!

8. Long Straight Fringe– Now I like a good hairstyle with a fringe- this is not one of them! The fringe needs to be longer for this one to look better! (look at number 3 for a good fringe!)

7. Long Straight Over Ear– I like this hairstyle, but only from the side visible in the picture! The other side is less hair more ear.

6. Long Back Parted Ponytail– I like the hairband in it but I don’t like how it covers the ears with one bit of hair on each side.

5. Long Double Ponytail– the word long in this hairstyles name is misleading- it’s not long but saying that I do like this one (it probably would have been nearer the top if it was longer!)

4. Long Braided Ponytail– I like this one a lot! I would have just liked it to have been longer and look more like a plait in the dark colours (it looks so much better in blonde and red!)

3. Long Full Fringe Ponytail– I prefer this fringe to the one in the other fringe hairstyle, it’s a nice hairstyle but the way it curves is strange!

2. Long Shoulder Ponytail– It was a hard decision between this one and the one above for second place, this one was slightly ahead as the ponytail is longer, straighter and I like the extra accessories in this hair.

1.Long Straight– This is my favourite one, I just wanted a simple long hairstyle and this is it! It’s similar to my actual hair, which is probably why I like it!
