The Sims Freeplay- Teen Life Event

THIS EVENT IS NOW OVER!

Early Access to Beta Provided by EA/ Firemonkeys- may differ from actual version

This brand NEW event is only here for 7 days from the 27th May! You will need at least one teenager in your town to be able to participate in this event!

To get all 7 new teen furniture and hairstyle packs you need to complete the teen idol hobby collection 7 times! You get a new pack each time you complete it, once you unlock a pack you get to keep it even if you don’t find them all.

NOTE: you need to have completed The Road To Fame Quest AND have a teenage sim to be able to start this event

You are completing the Teen Idol hobby so will need to buy teen idol instruments from the teen section of the home store

You need to firstly accept this quest, it will remove the teen idol notes you have already created from the collection so you don’t get a head start.

If you say no you can start it from the goal tab

Once you have said yes you now need to complete the collection 7 times in 7 days!

NOTE: previously you could only have 1 teen idol but you can now have up to 5 teens working on this event!

Confused about time limited hobby events? This video explains how they work:

NOTE: YOU NEED TO COMPLETE ALL FIVE ROWS TO GET ONE PACK!!

15 NOTES= COMPLETE COLLECTION AND UNLOCKS 1 PACK

TIPS FOR FINDING THEM ALL IN THE TIME LIMIT:

-have more than one teen working on it- you can have a maximum of 5
-it is easier if you have all the sims in one house, maybe build a room for them so they are all together but you don’t have to!

-you don’t have to level up for this hobby you just need to find all 3 notes on each instrument:

  • first row- keyboard notes (1 hour, 54 minutes or 48 minutes)
  • second row- bass guitar notes (2 hours, 1 hour 50 minutes, 1 hour 40 minutes)
  • third row- drumkit notes (3 hours, 2 hours 40 minutes, 2 hours 20 minutes)
  • fourth row- electric guitar notes (4 hours, 3 hours 40 minutes, 3 hours 10 minutes)
  • fifth row- microphone notes (5 hours, 4 hours 30 minutes, 4 hours)

SELECT THE WRITE NOTES OPTION ON AN INSTRUMENT

to complete quicker have one teen on each instrument if you can! The times shown are for the different star ratings each instrument has, if you buy the 3 star instruments you can find the notes quicker.

-remember to click start new collection on the teen idol hobby collections list once you have got all the pieces
-most importantly: just keep going! I know it’s annoying when you get the same one constantly but you will eventually get the ones you need.

There is a new element now, from the hobby collection screen you can now use LPs to finish a whole row instead of using the lucky spin to find one at random. The LP price varies depending on the row you are completing and how many you have left to find in that row:

Definitely a great option if you have the LPs to spare and want to complete this event really quickly! BUT you have to complete the previous row before you can use LPs on the next row, this video shows you how this works:

Prizes:

Study Desk Prize Pack- the study desks can be found in the teen section

Party Hair Prize Pack– find these in the wardrobe under hair for teenage sims

Moody Headphones Prize Pack- find these in the wardrobe under hats for teenage sims

Poster Prize Pack– the posters can be found in the teen section

Simtone Wallpaper Prize Pack– the wallpaper can be found in the walls section

Pro Gamer Prize Pack– the gaming stations can be found in the teen and preteen sections (they are the same two gaming stations in both sections)

Bunkbed Prize Pack– the bunkbeds can be found in the teen section

This is all the prizes!

YOU CANNOT GET THESE PRIZES IF YOU DO NOT COMPLETE IN THE TIME LIMIT

The Sims Freeplay- Guide to Teenage Sims

This is just a quick post to tell you about teens.
image

How do I create a teen?
To be able to age a preteen into a teen you need to have completed the teenagers quest
You will then be able to bake a birthday cake on a stove which takes a day and costs 5LPs. Once the birthday cake is made click on it and then you can click on your preteen and select the option to have birthday, they will then age into a teen. This post explains in more detail birthday cake ageing

If you have completed the life dreams and legacies quest then you no longer need to bake birthday cakes, they will age automatically.

What is next?
They will probably look strange so take them to a wardrobe to change their hair and clothes.

How do I look after them?

Needs– teens can look after themselves without an adult to help using the items below to increase their needs:
Hunger- fridge
Bladder- toilet
Energy- bed, chair, coffee machine
Hygiene- bath, shower
Social- talking to another sim, phone
Fun- lots of things including tv, computers and trampolines!
image

If you click on the teen you will see the option to have birthday, only use this when you want to age them.

They can drive but they need to have an adult with them!

What hobbies can a teen do?

Arcade GamerArcheryBowlingBreakdancingBroomstick FlyingCatwalk ModelCookingDivingDog AgilityDog ObedienceFashion HunterFigure SkatingInternet KittenJugglingMake up ArtistPotion BrewingPuppy PalsSnorkellingSpell CastingStorytellerSurfingSurvivalistTeen Idol

What school do teens go to?
Simtown High- once built you need to enrol them the same way you give an adult a job, use the teen study desk to increase a sims grade faster
image

Pros: Can look after themselves without help from adults, have lots of hobbies to choose from and can now plant too!

Cons: They don’t make a lot of money at school so I usually just have them plant beans throughout the day

Teens can interact with sims of all ages! Read the  Relationships post for more details.

Hope this helps!

The Sims Freeplay- Sim Sign and Teen Mansion

Once the Teen Idol Quest has been complete you unlock the sim sign (located next to the estate agency in the town) you need to get it to level 3 by finding the resources to upgrade it.

THERE IS NO TIME LIMIT FOR THIS

What resources do you need?

  • TV Show Cameos
  • Radio Interviews
  • Magazine Photoshoots

How many of each piece do you need for each level?

  • Level 0= 5 of each
  • Level 1= 10 of each
  • Level 2= 15 of each

How do you find the pieces?
Each time you find all 3 notes for the drum kit, guitar and microphone you get a piece of each
Drumkit Notes= 1 TV Show Cameo
Guitar Notes= 1 Radio Interview
Microphone Notes= 1 Magazine Photoshoot
image

Make sure you restart the collection once you have found them all to find them again!

You can also get them randomly when you do actions but be prepared to spend LPs or it will take you a long time to complete the sim sign without them to speed things up!

How many LPs will it cost if you decide to speed up?

  • Level 0= 42 LPs
  • Level 1= 90 LPs
  • Level 2= 135 LPs

Total= 267 LPs

My teens are ready to age but they haven’t completed the sign, what do I do?

Just start a new teen on this hobby and keep going to complete the sign.
Once the sim sign is at level 3 it will be lit up, as shown below:
image

And then you can build the teen mansion on a premium residence, the first one free! After that they cost simoleons, the price varies depending on how many other houses you have but it is cheaper to build the teen mansion, than to buy an empty plot to build on (as you are paying for each floor)

What does the teen mansion look like?

3rd Floor

Swimming Pool

THE FIRST TEEN MANSION IS FREE

If you didn’t unlock the volleyball net on the Its All Going Swimmingly Quest then don’t worry you get one in this house!

Personally I really like this house, I think it is well worth all those LPs I spent trying to complete the sign!

NOTE: teens cannot live in this house on their own even if they are the teen idol unless an adult lives there and they ask the teen to move in then you can move the adult out.

Anyone can live in this house, they don’t have to be the teen idol. It is just a normal house.

Want teens to live alone in this house? Watch this video to find out how to do that:

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS QUEST

please read before asking

I have missed this quest! Why can’t I start it yet?
You cannot miss main quests they have to be completed in order. You need to complete all previous quests (list can be found here) and reach level 19 before you can start this quest

Can I complete this quest even though I am passed level 19?
Yes, you just need to complete all previous quests then this quest will start automatically

Why are there two versions of this quest?
Some quests have two versions, as when the makers have updated the times for quests they haven’t updated them on all devices so some players still get the old times

I can’t afford the town hall, how can I earn more simoleons?

This post may help

Can I build the town hall early?

Yes you can

How do I give my sim a job?

Give this post a read

Can I use a BBQ at my house to cook pulled pork instead of the park?
Yes you can

What do you mean when you say a goal can be started early?
Any goal that you can normally do can be started early because you will have access to it and any goal that you can’t normally do you will have to wait until you get the goal to be able to complete it
The tip with this method is to put the sim doing that action early in a different house that you cannot go to until you get that goal or it will not work

I have completed this quest but it will not allow me to enrol my teen sim at high school, why?
You need to build the high school in sim town first

I don’t like this quest! Can I just skip it?
No, you have to complete this quest before you can move onto the next one

Some times are slightly different on my game, why is this?
Times may vary depending on the star rating of the item you are using, as the higher star rating an item has the quicker you will complete a goal

Some times are really off/ different goals show for me, why is this?

This will be because the quest has been updated recently, I try my best to keep these posts up to date but it is difficult as I cannot redo every quest each time the game is updated. If you notice any changes please let me know so I can update the post

Watch my step by step video of version 2 of this quest here:

NOTE: Last updated March 2017.
