The Sims Freeplay-Palm Perfection Live Event

Early Access to Beta Provided by EA/ Firemonkeys (Presented by EA GameChangers) may differ from actual version

Starts 13th May 2021

Complete this brand new live event (starts 13th May) to unlock pool party themed items and if you complete the whole event in the time limit you unlock the Palm Perfection house template. This event is only here for 10 days and the aim of it is to collect enough arts and crafts items from the arts and crafts stations (found in the event tab of buy mode) to unlock all the items in this event.

Check out my Guide to Completing Live Events (including tips!) HERE!

NOTE: if you did another Live Event then you will find your arts and crafts stations in your inventory (or in the house you left them at) you will only be able to use the candle ones until you unlock the other stations in this event

Can’t find your arts and crafts stations? Click on the craft station in your event tab to get the option to find your station, it will take you to the house where your stations can be found!

Want to skip the tasks list? Click here to head straight to the prizes!

Place a crafting station (find the candle station in the events tab of buy mode (or your inventory)- you can only buy 4)

Make some arts and crafts items (click on the candle station to make)- 23 seconds

This takes you to the prize progress tab (you can get to it by clicking on the button in the corner of the screen)

Here you will see you have collected enough items to unlock the Chantilly Flooring pack. When you unlock each pack, before the items are available in your home store you need to purchase them with the arts and crafts items you make- this goal is coming up!

Restock a crafting station (when the stock runs out you will have to restock before you can make anymore arts and crafts items)- You can restock instantly for 18 uses for 10SP or restock for 2 uses which will take 10 seconds this time

Buy the Chantilly Flooring pack (click on the event button, scroll down and click purchase- this will cost you 50 candles)

Use a coin flower patch (buy the coin flower patch from the event tab and select the spin plant option)

Check the daily goals (click on the event button and find the daily goals tab- claim the ones you can!)

Remember to claim your rewards each day!

Collect bonuses (while collecting after a certain amount of time you will see the arts and crafts item appear above that sims head, click to collect the bonus item!)

Continue collecting arts and crafts items- this is the last step but the event is not over, keep collecting the arts and crafts to unlock everything!

If you want to speed up a collecting arts and crafts action it will cost you SP, you will get the bonus arts and craft items as well if you speed it up!

Check out my video of the prizes available in this live event here:

Constructor Coins

You earn constructor coins by:

Personal Progress prizes

Completing Daily Goals

Coin Plant Patches

Earning Constructor Coins? Previously on these events I used social points on the Mega Spin Plant to win constructor points. I earn social points by completing the cooking hobby and earning LP, I can then turn the LP into SP using the social point plant on a normal garden patch- this was when it cost 5LP- the social point plant now costs 20LP so you may want to try the option below first instead:

Or you can use 450 candles for the Spin Plant (a good way to use up any spare candles) which will also earn you constructor coins but the amounts are less than they are from the Mega Spin Plant

What is the minimum and maximum amount of coins you can earn on the mega spin plant? The minimum is 10 and the maximum is 500

Now on the coin flower patch you can see the chances of getting the different combinations on each spin plant, click on the green i button to see:

Laura Craft? You may have noticed at the front of one of your houses there is a board with a bubble of a person holding arts and crafts items above it, this is Laura Craft, you can buy her for real money to help you complete the event. When you buy her, you select the item you want her to make from the options: 200 candles,  300 pottery, 450 jewelry or 500 glassware (the amounts seem to differ for most of you and I have no idea why that is!) (you will unlock all the options once you have unlocked all the stations) and you will be able to collect them after 2 hours.

Do I think she is worth it? They have improved Laura Craft a lot since the first event (although it would be great if she made constructor coins) she used to be able to collect every 8 hours, they have now changed this to 2 hours so she is more useful now so if you are struggling then you may want to splash out and give her a try but remember you will only get her for this event, you will have to buy her again to use her for a live event in the future. I personally don’t ever buy her, if I don’t manage to earn enough items or coins in the time limit I just wait until the next time the event is available!

If I brought Laura Craft in the last event do I get her for free or do I have to buy her again? You have to buy her again for this event.

Check out my Guide to Completing Live Events (including tips!) HERE!

Once the event is over it will convert your unused resources into simoleons, the conversion rate is half the amount of resources, for example, if you have 10,000 candles left over you will earn 5,000 simoleons, if you only have 1 of a resource left over you will only earn 1 simoleon. When a new live event becomes available you start from 0 resources

If I don’t complete this event this time will I have to start from the beginning when it returns? No, you will start from where you got to this time!

The Sims Mobile-Celebrity Life Update

Presented by EA GameChangers

Do you find it difficult building your own houses on The Sims Mobile? Do you hate LlamaZoom? Well this is the update for you!

Bye Bye LlamaZoom

Emily has said goodbye and the days of completing llamazoom tasks are gone for good! Llamazoom has been replaced by ‘Sim Festival’ and daily tasks. Llamazoom tokens are still a currency in the game (now called Llama Tokens) and can be earned by completing 5 daily tasks. Your daily tasks will refresh each day:

If you want to skip a daily task you can use simcash:

The amount of simcash needed to skip varies depending on the type of task

Types of Tasks:

There are 6 tasks to complete each day (including ‘complete 5 other tasks’)

  1. Random*
  2. Random*
  3. Eco Workshop (if you haven’t unlocked the eco workshop this will be a random task)
  4. Spend 100 Energy
  5. Sim Specific (has to be completed by a certain sim)
  6. Complete 5 Other Tasks

*Random tasks include purchasing items, completing sweet treat showdown or treasure hunt events and completing other types of events

Cost to skip with simcash:

  1. Random- 40 simcash
  2. Random- 40 simcash
  3. Eco Workshop- 70 simcash
  4. Spend 100 Energy- 40 simcash
  5. Sim Specfic- 100 simcash

My list of Daily Tasks can be found here

You can add 3 extra daily tasks a day for a price:

  • 1st extra costs S1,500
  • 2nd extra costs 20 simcash
  • 3rd extra costs 30 simcash

Sim Festival

Sim Festival is a new event that works with your daily tasks. Sim Festival Events aren’t always available so when they aren’t you can still complete your daily tasks but while sim festival events are taking place you can earn prize tickets by completing daily tasks and season tasks (season tasks are available during a sim festival event)

Prize tickets unlock rewards such as house templates (keep reading for more information) wallpaper, flooring and non playable characters.

I will warn you now that this new event is a huge money grab, you will have to buy the Festive Pass if you want to earn the higher end items, click here to read my Sim Festival post for more information on how to complete this new event

Demolishing a House

Want to quickly delete your sims houses? This is the feature for you!

Click on the bulldozer symbol in buy mode, it will ask you if you want to clear the lot, select clear all and your house will be removed and all the items will be stored in your storage:

Watch my Demolishing a House video here:

House Templates

If you don’t like building your own houses you can now place 2 premade house templates instead. These can be found in buy mode in the Designer Homes Catalog (click on the house on the scroll symbol):

You can preview each house before you decided which one to place. Watch my House Template Tours video here:

If you have a house on a lot already but you want to replace it with a house template you can, the bulldozer will remove the house already there and all the items from that house will be placed in your storage, the new house template will be added in its place.

If you love the new house template so much you want to place it on more than one lot then it will cost to place it again, also if you have any land expansions in the way of the new house template it will overlap these removing them so you can quickly build without clearing expansions. If a house is too large for a lot it won’t let you place it.

Event Start Dates (dates in PST)

  • Wumples Wishlist 53 Quest- 5 day quest starting 24th April
  • Sweet Treat Showdown: Charming Gardens (rerun)- 15 day event starting 18th May
  • Wumples Wishlist 55 Quest- 5 day quest starting 22nd May
  • Treasure Hunt: Modular Wardrobe- 11 day event starting 1st June

The Sims Mobile- Day and Night Update

Presented by EA GameChangers

THIS IS A PREVIOUS UPDATE, THE SIMS MOBILE HAS BEEN UPDATED SINCE THIS POST WAS WRITTEN

The latest Sims Mobile update (coming out 3rd February) is bringing day and night to our sims houses!

Day and Night Cycle

We can now set to always day, always night or day/night cycle in settings

This is just available on home lots for now so places like downtown or parkside won’t change

Lights Are Now Functional

We can now tap on lights to turn them on and off as well as turning on and off all lights from one light. Lights can also be set to automatic so they change with the day/night cycle

Transparent Windows

Transparent windows are now available to make the most of day and night

New Premium House Lot

1 Landgraab Avenue is now available to build in Briny Heights from level 18 for S500,000 with a 7 day wait to build (or build for 1,000 SimCash without having to wait) The cost amount doesn’t change.

The lot is 50×30 (regular lots are only 30×30)

This lot comes with two fountains, one is permanent and cannot be moved but the other can be stored and placed on another house lot if you wanted:

Sweet Treat Showdown Changes

You can now watch adverts using the knife block on the sweet treat bench:

Watching adverts can:

  • Give you extra rewards in your prize basket
  • Give you an extra chance in that round

You can only watch one advert per round but they seem to appear every round

The Sweet Treat Pro Ticket can be purchased with real money during a Sweet Treat Event for an advantage:

  • Comes with access to the Pro Mixer which has ‘better actions’ but only on rounds 1,3,5,7,9,10 (so you can earn more % and tokens than the normal actions)
  • You will get 6 extra sugar cubes for each challenge (so 36 in total)- if you purchase mid challenge you will get an automatic refill
  • Stores up to 6 attempts (so you can complete 6 challenges in a row)- if you purchase mid challenge you will get an automatic refill
  • Get 25 Royal Treat Tokens and 1,200 Sweet Treat Tokens extra

This only lasts for one Sweet Treat Event so if you wanted these perks every time you would have to purchase it each time a new event becomes available. This is a complete money grab in my opinion- just make it easy for all of us instead of making us pay!

I wasn’t really that bothered that we didn’t have day and night cycles to begin with so having a whole update for something so small is a bit of a disappointment!

What are your thoughts on this update?

The Sims Mobile Moves to Firemonkeys

Yesterday it was announced on Twitter that The Sims Mobile will be moving from Maxis (the makers of The Sims 4) to Firemonkeys (the makers of The Sims Freeplay). The statement said:

“To our mobile Simmers, we have some updates on the future of The Sims Mobile. The Maxis studio has made the decision to move development of The Sims Mobile to the Firemonkeys studio. The Firemonkeys have extensive and longstanding experience with The Sims having developed The Sims Freeplay for nearly a decade. Maxis and The Firemonkeys have worked closely to make this transition as smooth as possible and we’re all very excited about the future of The Sims Mobile. We continue to value and appreciate all the passion and enthusiasm you bring into this game! Maxis will continue to invest in The Sims on PC and Console and the Firemonkeys team will continue to expand The Sims universe through The Sims Freeplay and The Sims Mobile.

Moving forward, you will continue to be able to play The Sims Mobile as you do now. Given this transition, content updates will be delayed so please be patient as the Firemonkeys team ramps up and embraces The Sims Mobile.”

So what does this mean for both games? Well at the moment we don’t really know, all I know is there aren’t any plans to get rid of The Sims Freeplay right now and updates for The Sims Mobile may be delayed also most of the team who were working on The Sims Mobile are moving to The Sims 4 (as Firemonkeys is based in Australia not the USA)

Personally I’m not sure what to make of this news, I don’t want The Sims Freeplay to die because they are spending all their time on The Sims Mobile however at the same time I think they might be able to save The Sims Mobile because right now it needs a lot of work but we will have to wait and see!
