There are new time limited prizes when you complete the 9 day pregnancy event in the time limit and earn the baby bonus between 12th-21st May

If you start the 9 day pregnancy event anytime during the time frame you have the chance of earning the maternity items in that pack if you complete the event in the time limit, for example if you start a pregnancy event on the 21st May and complete in the time limit you will earn the items above

You need to have completed the first pregnancy event in the A Bump-y Ride Quest before you can earn the maternity prizes

What else?

You can now assign your sims Pronouns! You will be able to change your sims Pronouns in create a sim either when you create a new sim or using the ultimate makeover. Click on ‘Hide Pronouns’ to open the Pronouns options:

To make use of the new Pronouns feature the ultimate makeover is free for this update!
Architect homes available to purchase can now be found in the online store as well as on house lots
The Paperboy will be back with double rewards (and 5 extra special paintings created throughout this update by the Sim Guru’s!) between 14th-18th March and 29th March- 1st April:

To celebrate Women’s History Month paintings to celebrate famous women will be available for FREE from the online store, they are only available for a limited time:
- Jane Austen- 10th-16th March
- Sojourner Truth- 17th-23rd March
- Frida Kahlo- 24th-30th March

Once unlocked they can all be found in the decorations section and cost S1,000 each

Players level 55 and over no longer have the free skip option
Level up requirement at the stables when the stables is already complete

TIP: If a level up requirement doesn’t complete when it should try visiting a neighbour and returning home, it sometimes completes the task.

NEW PREGNANCY EVENT

There are new time limited prizes when you complete the 9 day pregnancy event in the time limit and earn the baby bonus between 13th February-3rd March

If you start the 9 day pregnancy event anytime during the time frame you have the chance of earning the maternity items in that pack if you complete the event in the time limit, for example if you start a pregnancy event on the 3rd March and complete in the time limit you will earn the items above

You need to have completed the first pregnancy event in the A Bump-y Ride Quest before you can earn the maternity prizes

Returning Events and Quests?

The Embrace the Fro Hair Hobby Event (no longer available) will be returning on 1st February for 10 days, complete the fashion designer hobby to unlock all hairstyles for your adult sims

The Oh So Ombre Hair Hobby Event (available now) will be back on 16th February for 10 days, complete the fashion designer hobby to unlock all hairstyles for your adult sims

The Wedding Belles Live Event (available now) will return on 18th February for 13 days, complete this live event to unlock wedding themed items and the wedding venue template

The HANS On Player Favourite Quest (available now) will be back between 19th February- 2nd March. Start this quest during this time to get the full 7 day time limit to complete, if you complete in the time you will unlock the HANS lighting system and dishwashers

The game maximum level has increased from 55 to 60! But instead of just needing experience points (XP) to level up you have other requirements that need to be completed before you can level up such as adding sims, constructing buildings and completing quests:

The level up requirements will vary depending on how much you have already completed, if you have completed all quests, development sites (downtown developer, sim springs and super yacht) and community lots (e.g. campgrounds, castle or mall) the tasks will be to complete careers, hobbies and professions. If you are unsure what a task is asking you to do click the (i) symbol next to that requirement:

TIP: If a level up requirement doesn’t complete when it should try visiting a neighbour and returning home, it sometimes completes the task.

The green place marker button will either take you to a location or show you what quest you can complete next:

If you have already completed everything in the game you will only need XP to level up.

Is this the end of The Sims Mobile?

Yesterday a ‘what to expect from The Sims Mobile content releases‘ post was added to EA.com (read the post here)

If you are looking for good news about this game then you won’t find it at the above link, the second paragraph states: ‘Beginning on January 29, 2024, The Sims Mobile will no longer receive new events in our updates.’ Updates from the end of January will only include previous events but no new events will be added to the game.

What does this mean? Basically they have given up trying to improve this game and have just decided to put it into maintenance mode instead so the bare minimum needs to be done to keep the game running, it will still be online but nothing new will be added and it is likely that existing bugs will not be fixed.

It will probably be the case that it will eventually be closed so I would urge you not to spend anymore money on this game- it clearly hasn’t been the success EA were hoping for so spending money on it at this point would be pointless.

What do I think about this news? I am not surprised and have been expecting this for a while, there have been too many issues that have constantly been ignored.

Just to name a few:

The list of bugs not being fixed has become worse each update with some long term players unable to get into the game!
The lack of new features has been non existent- we got balconies and then nothing- we can’t even sell items to clear up storage space!
The communication from the team has been poor, the game has changed hands so many times it is hard to know who to go to for answers or whether suggestions passed on have been seen by the right people.

I had taken a break from making Sims Mobile content since early 2023, not just because I felt that more effort was being put into the expensive paid packs than actual game events and that was something I did not want to promote but also I just found the game had become stale. Back in 2o21 I made a post called ‘Is it too late to Save The Sims Mobile?‘ in which I said “I only make an update post for the game now, I got so bored of making Wumples posts and even the new events aren’t exciting enough to warrant their own posts.” but by 2023 it just became difficult to talk about a game at all that I was no longer enjoying.

However as much as I was expecting it I am disappointed they couldn’t sort it out. Back in 2017 when we first heard about this game there was excitement and so much hope but it has never been able to fulfil its potential. I don’t know if how the game was first developed that has lead to all these problems but what is certain, time is definitely up for The Sims Mobile.

Please remember this is about The Sims Mobile NOT The Sims Freeplay, they are two different games and Freeplay is still active!
