Early Access to Beta Provided by EA/ Firemonkeys (Presented by EA GameChangers)
Sim Springs is a new location event (available from 15th June with the Coastal Living update) the aim of this event is to complete daily tasks to renovate house lots in the new neighbourhood. There is no rush to begin this, it will be available in the future when you are ready to start.
In this post I will explain the first neighbourhood Sandy Suburbs, this is the only one currently available but there are plans to add new neighbourhoods in future updates.
GLITCH: there are so many glitches in this update including the game crashing when you try to visit another Sandy Suburbs lot, most players are having this issue and the makers are working on a fix.

Click here to see all the Neighbourhood Tasks
In Sandy Suburbs there are four house lots that need some TLC:
Click on the links above to see the daily tasks and prizes for that lot

3 of the lots are house lots and the final lot, Wellspring Library is a community lot which once unlocked can still be customised like a normal house lot but your sims cannot live in them. You will also be able to place any item from the living room section of buy mode in the community lot for free!
The lots need to be renovated in the order listed above, you cannot do up more than one lot at a time and the next won’t unlock until the previous one has been completed. The time limit to complete a house is 10 days (14 days for community lot) with tasks to complete each day in Sim Springs, similar to Downtown Developer Events if you don’t complete in the time limit you will have to pay to be able to move on but there are prizes available, the grand prize contains a house template that can be placed in Sim Springs or Simtown.
Once you are at level 20 or above you will be able to find the bus stop near the Science Lab in Simtown, click on this to go to Sim Springs:

When you first visit you will see this pop up:

Click start and a tutorial will begin:
- Visit the Sim Springs home lot (click on the pulsing house in Sim Springs)

- Talk to Johnny Zest- 30 seconds (he will be at this house lot, bring a sim here to talk to him)

- Listen to Johnny Zest’s plan- 30 seconds
- Agree to Johnny Zest’s scheme- 30 seconds

- View Sandy Suburbs (tap on the button the town navigation menu to see all of Sandy Suburbs in Sim Springs):

- View the neighbourhood overview (click on the button in the top left corner):

This screen shows you all the lots and your progress in completing them
- Go to Tumbleweed Terrace (this is the house lot we were first at, click on the go to button on the neighbourhood overview):

Tumbleweed Terrace is the first house lot we will need to do up in this event
- View the renovation plan (click on the button in the top left corner):

The second tab is the renovation plan and it shows the tasks you need to complete and the prizes available for completing
- View daily tasks (click on the button in the top left corner and scroll down to view the tasks):

Your aim is to complete the daily tasks in 24 hours, keep reading to see all the daily tasks
- View development deadlines
There are padlocks separating:
- Day 1 and 2 (meaning you have 48 hours to complete all tasks)
- Day 3, 4 and 5 (meaning you have 72 hours to complete all tasks)
- Day 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 (complete all tasks within 5 days)

If you don’t complete a section in time you will have to purchase a ‘deadline extension’ which means you will have to pay to be able to progress, the more days you are behind the more expensive it will be to progress but the timer doesn’t restart until you have purchased to move on. This is very similar to how the Downtown Developer Events work:

- View the Zest Zone:
For Day 8, 9 and 10 it works a little different, if you complete each of these days tasks within 24 hours you will earn an extra prize once you complete the event:

The Zest Zone differs for each house lot:
- Tumbleweed Terrace- Day’s 8, 9 and 10
- Dusty Dwelling- Day’s 7, 8, 9 and 10
- Arid Apartments- Day’s 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10
- Wellspring Library- Day’s 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14
- View leftover tasks:
Each set of daily tasks has a 24 hour timer (you have 24 hours to complete them) If you don’t manage to complete all tasks for one day these will still be available for you to complete the next day as ‘leftover tasks’ these can be found below your daily tasks and must be completed before you can progress past the deadline. For example, if you fall behind on day 1 you will see day 2 tasks as your daily tasks and the tasks left from day 1 as leftover tasks, if you complete all of day 2 tasks but leave the day 1 tasks you will not be able to progress but if you complete all the leftover tasks and daily tasks before that 24 hours is up you will be able to progress to day 3 without paying for a deadline extension:

- Start the renovation plan- 30 seconds (click on Johnny Zest)

Once you have completed Start the Renovation Plan task the 24 hour timer for day 1 will begin
- Start a task at Tumbleweed Terrace (start your daily tasks)
Daily Tasks
- Daily tasks must be completed at Sim Springs
- You can only complete one task at a time, unless it is a build task (buy items etc) then you can complete at the same time as another task
- You can complete these tasks in any order
- The tasks you need to complete will have the Sim Springs symbol on them:
![]()
- More than one sim can be used for tasks that require multiple sims
- You will need to buy some items such as trees, couches and computers to be able to complete tasks in Sandy Suburbs, if you have a 3 star item at a house in Simtown you can store it in your inventory and place it in Sandy Suburbs rather than buying a new one
- Trash cannot be removed until you get the task to remove it
- If you skip using SP on tasks that require you to clear up items it will remove those items
- For tasks that require you to find items in objects if you use social points to quick complete you can find more
- For tasks that require you to spend money you can buy items and then store them, this still counts TIP: I would save building rooms/ basements etc and placing flooring and wallpaper for when you need to spend money
- For tasks that require you to place a certain number of items, if you store one of those items already in the house you will need to buy or replace it. For example, if you need to buy 6 windows and there are 3 there already but you store them all you will need to buy 6 windows rather than buying 3 more
- Investment tasks are like mastery classes in SimChase, the more you spend, the less time it takes to complete TIP: check how much it would cost to skip with SP it may be cheaper or the same cost as the investment without the wait time
- The lower the star rating, the longer a task will take to complete, I have included this in the tables below
- You are aiming to complete the daily tasks within 24 hours, if you take too long you will have to pay to move on
- For tasks that require more than 10 sims to complete at once you can spread them out throughout the houses you have unlocked in Sandy Suburbs, for example at Dusty Dwelling you need to Eat 15 Handfuls of Comfort Food from a fridge so you can have 10 sims in Dusty Dwelling and the other 5 in Tumbleweed Terrace

If you complete day’s 8, 9 and 10 (each within 24 hours) you will unlock the Extra Zesty Prizes which contains 2 tops for male adults sims and 1 Mystery Key:

Once you have completed the whole 10 day event you will unlock the Tumbleweed Terrace House Template which can be placed in Simtown or Sim Springs. You don’t have to complete this event in the time limit to unlock this house. This house template is available on a standard and a premium residence under the driveway homes tab (if you build it on the Tumbleweed Terrace lot in Sim Springs you will be building the standard as that lot is 18×18) the first one is free, after this it will cost simoleons depending on how many houses you have already built:

The only difference between the standard and the premium residence is the pool on the premium:

I personally think after the amount of money spent during the event you probably have already created a house that is much better than this one but you will unlock this house template even if you don’t complete in the time limit so it is probably designed more for players who don’t like building.
Watch my house tour of Tumbleweed Terrace here
Do I have to use the House Templates given during the event? No, you can keep the house you have been creating during the event but there is always the option to demolish that house and replace it with the template
You also unlock:
Kitchen Section: Oak (S127,000) and Ash (16LP) Vintage Fridges
Living Room Section: Green (S155,000) and Purple (15SP) Box Ottomans and Oak (S135,000) and Walnut (13LP) Round Book Display

Decorations Section: Black (S84,000) and Cream (8LP) Laundry Baskets
Electronics Section: White (S245,000) and Oak (25LP) Stacked Washers
Once you have completed the whole 10 day event you will unlock the Arid Apartments House Template which can be placed in Simtown or Sim Springs. You don’t have to complete this event in the time limit to unlock this house. This house template is available on a standard and a premium residence under the driveway homes tab (if you build it on the Arid Apartments lot in Sim Springs you will be building the standard as that lot is 18×18) the first one is free, after this it will cost simoleons depending on how many houses you have already built:

The only difference between the standard and the premium is the back of the lot, the premium has a coffee shop and a road layout:

I really like this house template, the ground floor is a bookshop with a separate door for residences to access their apartments on the second, third and fourth floors. There is also a basement with washers so they can do their laundry:

Watch my house tour of Arid Apartments here
Do I have to use the House Templates given during the event? No, you can keep the house you have been creating during the event but there is always the option to demolish that house and replace it with the template
You also unlock:
Living Room Section: Oak (S100,000) and Walnut (10LP) Book Pillars, Tall Oak (S115,000) and Walnut (11SP) Book Pillars
Living Room and Decorations Section: White Oak (S140,000) and Blue Walnut Rounded Receptions
Preteen Sections: Orange (S3,400) and Brown (2P) Beanbags
Decorations Section: Black (S64,000) and White (6LP) Gold Shelves
Trees, Plants and Flowers Section: Tan (S68,500) and Gray (7LP) Calatheas

Wellspring Library
Once you complete Arid Apartments you will get a few more tutorial tasks to explain this community lot:
- Ask about the Lot- 30 seconds (send a sim to Wellspring Library to talk to Johnny Zest)
- View the Council Contribution Category- click on buy mode
This final lot is a community lot so your sims cannot live here but they can visit, building works the same as a normal lot but one category in buy mode will be FREE, at Wellspring Library this is the living room section

You can see the living room section while at the library is flashing yellow and says FREE
- Place a Council Contributed Object (place any item from the living room section while at the library)
FREE objects are community owned so they cannot be stored or moved to another house, if you have an item in your inventory you would like to use in this build you can place it but if you go to a different house the version you purchased will still be in your inventory
- Start a renovation plan task (you can now start the 14 day timer for Wellspring Library or wait the 7 days for it to start automatically:

The timer for Wellspring Library is 14 days rather than 10 days like the other 3 lots

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get to Sim Springs? You can find the bus stop near the Science Lab, click on this to get to Sim Springs:

Why can’t I start this event? You need to be at level 20 or above to be able to begin this. This event is very expensive so it is best to start it when you have completed everything else in the game so you can afford it.
Do I have to start it straight away? No, there is no rush to begin but once you do complete the tutorial the 10 day time limit will begin.
What is the difference between house lots and community lots? Sims cannot live in community lots. You will also be able to place all items from one section of buy mode in the community lot for free, in Sandy Suburbs this is the living room section.
What happens if I don’t complete in time? You can still complete this event even if you don’t complete in the 10 day time limit to get the Grand Prize house template, you just won’t get the Zesty Prizes and you may have to pay ‘deadline extensions’ if you fall behind.
I don’t understand the Zest Zone? Day 8, 9 and 10 are the Zest Zone and you will earn an extra prize at the end of the event if you manage to complete day’s 8, 9 and 10 in 24 hours each (you don’t have to complete all 3 days in 24 hours, you have 24 hours for day 8, then 24 hours for day 9 etc)
What are Mystery Keys? Mystery Keys are usually earned from completing weekly tasks, they can then be spent in the Mystery Box Shop to unlock prizes, read this post for more information
How do I go back to Simtown? You can use the bus stop in Sim Springs or use the buttons at the bottom like you normally would to navigate around town.
Do I have to use the House Templates given during the event? No, you can keep the house you have been creating during the event but there is always the option to demolish that house and replace it with the template
I’ve completed everything, why hasn’t my Sim Springs Happiness level increased? This is the happiness level for the whole of Sim Springs, completing just the first neighbourhood (Sandy Suburbs) will not complete any happiness milestone, you will need to wait for future Sim Springs event to unlock these
Guide to Sim Springs: Sandy Suburbs:
GLITCH: there are so many glitches in this update including the game crashing when you try to visit another Sandy Suburbs lot, most players are having this issue and the makers are working on a fix.
Presented by EA GameChangers
wow, i’m so excited for this update!
Sorry I’m replying on your comment, I didn’t know how else to comment. Okay so idk why my sandy springs didn’t have the same gameplay as the guide shows. Idk what went wrong. Can someone please tell me?
How does yours differ?
Do we have to finish all the tasks at the sim springs or we can do it also at simtown?
All daily tasks must be completed in sim springs
Do you know whether all the daily tasks must be done in the Tumbleweed Terrace house? I know tasks like cleaning up pizza boxes or garbage bags would, but, for example, the task of getting 9 second opinions by phone, could that be done at one of our existing houses that already has 10 3-star phones?
All daily tasks must be completed at one of the four lots in Sim Springs.
Thanks so much for clarifying. I just love your website, so helpful. We appreciate all the hard work you put into it for our benefit.
You’re welcome!
How do I add the area from a tree on the tumbleweed terrace part
Place a tree on this house lot to complete this task.
I completed the 4 different lots but I can’t complete or skip the neighborhood tasks. Has this happened to anyone else?
Neighbourhood tasks cannot be skipped. Can you explain how it won’t let you complete them? You will need to complete one at a time so if you have started one already that needs to be completed before you can move onto the next one.
I didn’t click ‘start’ on the New Location and Event pop up, but I did click on the bus stop to go and have a look.
In the Active Tasks list it now says ‘visit the Sim Springs home lot’ and the first house is pulsing, I haven’t clicked on this.
Is it too late to leave it for now as I’m not ready to start this yet, or have I activated the tutorial which I now have to finish and then the countdown begins?
Thanks for your help and all your hard work with this website.
The timer starts when you complete the ‘start the renovation plan’ in the tutorial so just leave it for now until you are ready to start.
Do all of the daily tasks have to be completed in order or any order that works for us? Thanks for your extra hard work this update, it’s massive and we really appreciate it!
You can complete them in any order.
I’m level 38 and I don’t have the bus stop. I managed to watch the trailer through the game but just can’t see it?
You need to update the game to the latest update to be able to access the bus stop.
How do you recycle the pizza boxes because when I keep tapping them they say only Jonny zest can make the sims?
Have you started the tasks yet? You can only do this task when you start day 1 and you cannot complete it at the same time as another task in Sim Springs.
You mentioned that the first house template isn’t as nice as what you’ve probably built during the event. When I complete the event, do I get the house I renovated, or are all of those simoleons wasted and I get the basic version??
You keep the house you have created but you can demolish it and replace it with the template if you would rather use that
You can use the premium residence once you have built the standard but you can only build the premium residence in Simtown, you cannot build the premium in Sandy Suburbs.
This may be stupid, but I can’t seem to complete the “consider sim springs’ potential from a couch” task. There isn’t a couch in tumbleweed terrace and I can’t do it from a home in sim town, it doesn’t give me the option. Am I doing something wrong?
You will need to buy a couch at Tumbleweed Terrace to complete this task.
Of course I do! How did I not think of that?! Thank you 🙂
Hey! I accidentally started it and I’m onto the tasks now. I’m on level 32 and I have lots of money but I don’t want to spend it. Do you think it’s a good idea to continue? Is there a way to pause it? Also, I was wondering if you have to start the sim chase at a certain time so it doesn’t go away? Like could I start it when the first sim springs home renovation is over? Thank you so much! :))
You can just leave it for a while until you are ready but it will cost you more as you have to pay a deadline extension so you can progress.
The SimChase events are only available for a certain amount of days so if you don’t start it during that time it will end and you will have to wait for it to return in the future.
Howw am i supposed to look for photos
Click on household objects such as computers, bookshelves and chairs to get the option, make sure you use the number of sims it tells you to use.
I might be wrong about this but for the tasks that require you to spend simoleons on doing up the house, I *think* if you have items in your inventory you can place them in the house and it will count the value of that item as money spent, and they can be removed again after.
It happened to me yesterday, I had spent a little bit already and was trying out a door I already owned worth 2 lp or so, and suddenly the task completed without me spending anything else. I don’t have the task currently to check but it might be worth trying before you spend.
I tried this on the early access version and it didn’t seem to work for me, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t as they do change things before releasing it so hopefully this is the case!
Yes, I’ve done this too. Saves me spending money.
If you haven’t already placed a prize item in your home before then it works. Check new items. The ones worth LP help a lot. Try not to place any new items until the task where it requires you to spend money. 🙂
Yes, you can use items you already own, but you have to access them from the build mode.
For me it has worked to place ‘free’ items that haven’t already been placed. So when you get prizes in other events, they go into your inventory as ‘free’. When you place the free item in Sandy Suburbs, the game thinks you’ve spent the amount of money that the free item is worth.
I saved up lots of event prizes and was able to do all of Sandy Suburbs and the Neighborhood tasks with free items that require you to spend money. A good tip if you don’t have lots of cash to splash!
I noticed the same thing, so I tested it. It looks like it only works for items that usually cost LP or SP, but are something you won or bought before.
erm, do we have to buy all the furniture needed? can we put things (from simtown) in our inventory and then simply place/use it in the sandy suburb plots rather than buy them for each task? thanks a lot
Yes you can move items from other houses into Sandy Suburbs.
How do I assess the area from a tree?
Buy a tree and then select the option on it.
If I missed the deadline for tasks and am asked to pay the fee to move on, what happens if i don’t pay…does that stop all further development of the whole springs area?
If you don’t pay you won’t be able to continue the event.
Hi! I can’t manage to find this, which ones are they?? Thanks for your help!
Place 3 Bookshelves at Tumbleweed Terrace
Buy any 3 bookshelves from the living room section.
What happens if you don’t complete the daily task? Do you have to start the task all over again or does it reset back to day 1? Like for example do I have start over again or do I get start from where I left?
You don’t have to start again, they will become leftover tasks that need to be completed before you can move on passed a deadline point so all tasks for days 1 and 2 need to be completed before you can start on day 3.
Hey! I have another quick question! I want to finish off the first house tasks to earn all the prizes and the prebuilt house but I don’t want to move on afterwards to the other 3 houses. How do I stop without losing the day 10 prizes and the house??
You can take a break for 7 days and then the timer will begin, if you don’t start it after this time you will need to pay simoleons to move on once you have completed all tasks for days 1 and 2, once you pay you can move on to day 3.
Is it worth it? – is it worth paying 159,000simelon to continue beyond day 2 to buy an extension because my progress is blocked?
I can’t really tell you that, only you can decide if it is worth it. All I can say is if you can’t afford it right now then I would suggest you leave it and come back to it later when you have the money to spend on it.
Woww, so now we can renovate the whole neighborhood
If I complete all of the Sandy Suburbs in Sim Springs, would I get the chance to keep Sim Springs forever?
You can keep Sim Springs even if you don’t complete it all, this area isn’t going anywhere.
If I don’t want to use the house template for now and the event is over, do I still have the house template? Sorry for bad english
You don’t have to use the house template, you can keep the house you have made.
I am wondering if anyone else has their game crash on iPhone when trying to complete Find 45 Suburban Blueprints (15 sims)(quick complete to find extra) I went to the first house, dusty and got 34/45, then when I tapped on someone at the tumbleweed house to collect remaining items, the game crashed and I had to start over. To get the remaining 11 blueprints.
How frustrating, a lot of players have been reporting the game crashing more since starting Sim Springs, hopefully this is something that can be fixed for the next update but for now you might just have to make sure all other apps are closed while you play the game and restart your device if it happens again.
I had the exact thing happen to me on that task, and when I restarted the game, all my sims everywhere had stopped what they were doing, too, which ended up with me also losing stock for my live event also. Very frustrating.
Hi, I’ve been adding multiples all my most expensive items to the first house for 3 star tasks (ie posh sinks with mirrors). I see the grand prize is a smarter version of the starter house. Should I remove all the items I added before the end so I don’t lose them with the new house that win? Not sure if it gets replaced or just added as an available template. My current house design is just to fit multiple fridges, dining tables, chairs and mirrors, so no real plan to it! I’d assumed you didn’t get to keep the starter home as there was an upgraded one at the end as a prize.
The house won’t be replaced, it will be available as a template if you wanted to demolish the existing house and build it. If you did want to build the template house I would recommend deleting all the rooms in your existing house first so it will save the items as if you just click demolish the items in the house will all be deleted too.
I’m on day 10 of the Tumbleweed Terrace. I got another question. Even if I unlock the template or don’t the template, can I still move on to the next area? Like do I need to unlock the previous template before moving on or it will just unlock next area straight away?
You unlock the template once you complete the event, you do not need to use the template to start the next event.
I think my 10 days are over now for the first Tumbleweed Terrace quest. I only managed to get to day 7 and I think I have about 13 leftover tasks. I am trying to finish the tasks and I have 2 leftover tasks that I have started already, but it’s not letting me finish them for some reason? Like the option does not show up when I click on the mirrors, objects, etc. Is it because the quest is over? I also have enough Simoleons to buy the extension, but it doesn’t let me do that either as the box remains gray.
Are you at Tumbleweed Terrace? These tasks can only be completed there.
Will we be getting extra home lots or just this 3? I have a stack of house templates earned in live events and nowhere to build them😱
They are planning to build more neighbourhoods in the future so there should be more house lots coming.
I wish they would allow us to work on more than 1 task at a time; it’d make progressing easier.
How to unlock premium buildings? is there any special trick?
Once you complete the event you will find the house lots on the premium residence like when you complete a live event.
does johnny zest ever leave? I’m no longer doing the sim springs quests so I don’t want it to show up anymore? any ideas? :))))
He doesn’t seem to leave unfortunately.
How do you add a pool in sims spring? There is no grass so having a hard time figuring out how to do this.
You add a pool like you normally would to any house lot, as long as it is big enough and you are in the grid area you can add a pool.
Oh wow, this was a beast of a post! Thanks for compiling it all together! You’re a unicorn!
Thank you, I hope it helps!
Hello
I really appreciate Your efford to document all those quests, it helps alot to organize the work, thank You!
As You can imagine, I’m on house number 2 right now, and I’ve noticed that from certain stage it says that there are +10 sims required to complete a task. Does it mean that You need to do it in 2 turns? In that case some of those days are impossible to accomplish in 24h without speeding up with SP. Is that true?
You’re very welcome! No you don’t need to do it in two turns, you can have 10 sims at Dusty Dwelling and the other 5 at Tumbleweed Terrace.
I have only got 46 points towards ‘Content’ level after doing all the neighbourhood tasks. I need 55. Where are the other tasks I need to level up?
Sandy suburbs is the only neighbourhood currently available, when they have added more you will be able to complete more neighbourhood tasks to increase this.
For 15 sims mission, we also can do the mission in other house of Sandy Suburbs? Or we need to do the mission only for the current house? I can’t try it because I’m building the house and delete the Tumbleweed Terrace house.
Yes you can have 10 sims at Dusty Dwelling and the other 5 at Tumbleweed Terrace.
So I bought the boost which cuts the number of things in half, BUT for the clean up tasks, it didn’t make all of the garbage disappear after the task was done, and now the remaining trash can’t be cleaned. Is this a glitch? 😦
A few other players have mentioned this issue, I have let the makers know so hopefully they will be able to fix it.
Thank you!
Thankyou for your posts i love them!
I was so upset as app kept bombing during searching for blueprints day 5 dusty dwelling, i did this 3 times and bombed each time at end of task then ended up paying to move onto day 6😢
How frustrating, a lot of players have been reporting the game crashing more since starting Sim Springs, hopefully this is something that can be fixed for the next update but for now you might just have to make sure all other apps are closed while you play the game and restart your device if it happens again.
I keep getting the game crash and reset when completing the ‘Find surburban blueprints’ at Dusty dwellings, day 5. I’ve tried the 3 hour task twice now and both times crashed as soon as first sim finished task. It said up to 15 sims allowed, so I had 10 in dusty dwellings and 5 in tumbleweed terrace. The crashes happened at Tumbleweed terrace. Really annoying as it reset all sims to doing nothing, including those working on Captivating Coast tasks, so now I am way behind on both and unable to complete within time limits. No point carrying on with it if the tasks don’t register as done. I’ve notified tech support but wondered if this was just me or happening to others too.
That is annoying, a lot of players have been reporting the game crashing more since starting Sim Springs, hopefully this is something that can be fixed for the next update but for now you might just have to make sure all other apps are closed while you play the game and restart your device if it happens again.
hello!
This may help other users! I had the same issue in Dusty Dwelling day 5: the game crashed when I was doing the Footprints task. 10 sims were finding in Dusty Dwelling + 3 sims (I’m on lvl52) in Tumbleweed Terrace. Once I wanted to open Tumbleweed Terrace it crashed. I’ve lost a crafting progress, had to redo it, it crashed again. Eventually I had to use SP to skip the remaining footprints.
On day 9 with the mirrors task, I started 10 sims in Dusty Dwelling and then few minutes later remaining ones in Tumbleweed Terrace. Once the 10 finished I went to the Tumbleweed Terrace and waited there till Sims finished their tasks and it did not crashed!
So the solution is – You need to be in the TT at the time when sims are finishing, and it will not crash then
Mine did the exact same. I was in the middle of crafting too. Lost my craft items and had to start the blueprints again. I updated the game. Did yours sort itself out?
I’m on Dusty Dwelling day 5 and it says to use 15 sims to eat food or find blueprints, but after bringing 10 sims to the house it says ‘the place is too crowded, you can’t add more sims until one leaves’.
The other 5 sims will have to be at Tumbleweed Terrace to complete this.
Thanks so much! That works.
I’m glad it worked!
Yes thanks for that, I did it twice, good to know!
I love your website and find it so helpful. I wonder if you can explain why certain tasks say they take 3 hours and you can use multiple sims (15) but you can only have 10 sims on a lot so in reality the task takes 6 hours not 3 as you can’t possibly complete it in one go.
The other 5 sims can complete the task in another house in sim springs such as Tumbleweed Terrace.
Well for goodness sake, why didn’t I think of that 🙄 Thank you so much. I knew the tasks didn’t work on regular lots but I just didn’t think about the Sims Springs lot I had just unlocked!!
Hi thought this might be helpful but I found that leftover tasks can be completed alongside the current days tasks. I spent so long trying to complete the leftover tasks one by one first, and then trying to complete the current days tasks. Really ended up speeding up the process and allowing me to catch up and not have another deadline debt added.
Hi! Thx for you post it really help. I want to ask you about zest zone price. I’m in arid apartment, if in day 5 i can’t finish the task on time, can i still get the price for zest zone (if i can finish the zest zone task on time in 24 hours each day at day 6,7,8,9,10)?
Yes you can
Can multiple households/individual Sims move into Arid Apartments? Thanks for a very helpful blog, BTW
4 sims can live here like a normal house.
So does that mean that I can create 4 random sims and add them?
Because after building the only options available are to add a sim, relocate a sim or a household….
Can’t I just add people or move them in without changing their surnames because they became “roommates?”
And why is it that only 4 people can move in when there are about 5 or 6 apartments?
What’s up with that? 🙄
You can have 4 sims living in this like a normal house so they will all still have the same last name.
i really wish that wasn’t the case but anyhow, thanks for responding; and thank you for all your help with this blog. Hope you feel better…
cheers❤❤❤
Just a tip, for the spend simoleons task at any Sandy Suburbs stage:
If you’ve unlocked new items from a previous challenge or event (eg. Simchase), it will count as simoleons spent when placed.
In the Arid Apartments can individual sims live in the apartments separately or only one sim.
4 sims can live here like any house.
I’m on the wellspring library lot, day 1 tasks. The task requiring a tree is a bit misleading. It says 9 hours but that would only work with a 3 star tree, which don’t fit in the one square width outside space on the lot. I could only fit tiny 1 star trees, so taking 11 hours, even though they said it was 9 hours. Something to be wary of if you are having to fit these tight timings in to avoid the fines.
You can place the tree at any of the sandy surburb lots to complete this it doesn’t have to be at the library lot.
Hi – Amazing post as usual. One thing I couldn’t find mention of, is the timers above the houses where all the tasks have been completed. For example, I’m currently on Day 5 of building the Arid Apartments, and when I view Sim Springs, there are countdown timers above Tumbleweed Terrace with 1hr and 39 minutes left, and above Dusty Dwelling with 55 hours and 55 minutes left.
I know I must’ve completed all the tasks for them because I was able to move on. But I have no idea what is going to happen to Tumbleweed Terrace in 1hr and now 38 minutes. Do you have any info on that? I read through the comments on this post but didn’t see mention of it.
Thanks again for all you do!!
These timers will give you an xp or simoleon reward, if you go to simtown you will see timers on all those houses too and once it reaches 0 you get your reward.
Tip for some of the tasks: The ones that say spend $x amount of money at the house, you can place furniture where the first copy is free and it will count. So when you unlock something new it typically says 1x free. These items you can place because they are in the store and not your inventory. This can save a lot of simpletons because it’ll only take a few of the free items to reach the amount, especially if you use the 3 star ones.
Because of all the bugs I kept getting (some Sims stopped doing tasks out of the blue for example), I didn’t manage to get the 2nd Zesty Prize. I find the money required for investments a bit high.. I had to use social points to skip the investments in the 4th part, but I at least got the Zesty Prize this time. Overall, I love the new neighborhood, but doing the tasks on time was very difficult on some days (+ the bugs!). I contacted the support about my issue, but only got an automated reply.
I’m understanding that I can build Wellspring Library outside of Sim Springs and have my sims live there, but am I correct in assuming that if I were to build it in Simtown, I wouldn’t be able to make use of the council contributions (free living room category) as it would no longer be considered a community lot?
That is correct, it is only a community lot in Sandy Suburbs.
Hello, thank you for your hard work in making this available for us! I have a question too about this, if I were to build other type of house in Sim Springs on Wellspring Library lot (I have demolished previous pre-built house), can I make use of free living room category? Or is it only applicable if the “Wellspring Library” template that is built there, not ordinary house?
You can demolish the library and build anything there to make use of the free living room items but a sim won’t be able to live here as it isn’t a house lot
If you don’t complete all tasks in the 24hrs but it’s not a deadline day is their any effects at all? Or do you just finish them the next day like nothing happened?
Also if you start the last task and it would finish before the end of the 24hrs but you don’t log into the game until the day is over does it still count as the task was completed before the end?
Thankyou your posts are soooo helpful!
You can just finish them the next day if it isn’t a deadline day but you will have more tasks to complete the next day making it more difficult to complete in time. It should recognise the goal is complete when you open the game so you shouldn’t have to pay to move on.
I am currently on dazzling, working toward ultimate but my Sims aren’t doing anything autonomously. I thought they’d work on computers but I put computers &Sims in library and in houses and they aren’t. What’s the dealeo?
I found that it wasn’t as great as advertised, they did sometimes use the items but it wasn’t a lot.
How do I get a sim to wash sand off a plant in Sandy Suburbs?
You will need to place a plant from the trees, plants and flowers section of buy mode. I used the barrelled flowers which cost S500.
how do you demolish the existing house and place the one you won at the tumbleweed place?
If no sims are living in the house click on it and select demolish: https://thegirlwhogames.blog/2015/03/09/the-sims-freeplay-empty-house-options/
Hi, I have two questions. Once you finish Sandy Suburbs and you want to demolish the lots and build the houses that you won on them, are these lots automatically going to be the premium lots with the premium house or will they be the smaller kind? Also, I finished SS and all the neighborhood tasks and the next tab down under the golf flag on the right says ” Palm Promenade, construction site. Permission permits are pending, there could be something here to see later. ” Does that mean this even hasn’t started yet and keep checking back? Thank you so much!!
Those lots will be the standard lots as the grid size is only 18×18 in Sandy Suburbs, you will need to build in simtown to build the premium versions.
Palm Promenade isn’t available yet, Sandy Suburbs is the only neighbourhood available so far, I will let you know in my update post when the next neighbourhood is available.
