Once you complete the An Alien Concept: Weather Machine quest you are able to build the snow park, the location of the snow park can be found on the town map on this post.

This is a birds eye view of the snow park:

Snowballs

There are two snowball walls at the snow park so your preteen, teen, adult and senior sims can have a snowball fight for 2 hours

NOTE: you need two sims to be able to do this action

image

Ice Hockey Rink

At the ice hockey rink your sims can play hockey or go ice skating

Hockey Net- click on the hockey net and your preteens, teens and adults can play hockey

NOTE: this is not a hobby and only one sim can use a hockey net at one time

image

Figure Skating- click on the dark grey circles on the rink to do the figure skating hobby to unlock the ski lift key

Preteens, teens and adults can partake in this hobby and 4 sims can do it at one time at the snow park

image

Ski Lift

Once you complete the figure skating hobby for the first time you will be able to access the ski lift to toboggan and snowboard

image

Toboggan- preteens, teens and adults can use:

image

Snowboards: preteens, teens and adults can use:

image

Log Cabin

In the log cabin there is a bar, kitchen, toilets and areas to relax as well as a barbecue outside

image

Bar- to use the bar you need one sim to tend and another sim can then order a cocktail for S2500, this cocktail will make them inspired

image

image

Do you have to buy all the areas at the Snow Park?

No, they are all unlocked apart from the Ski Lift which is still free but unlocks when you complete the Figure Skating hobby

You need the Snow Park to complete a goal in the Seniors Quest so make sure you have it built before then!

The Sims Freeplay- Competition Center

The competition center is a good way to earn extra LP or simoleons, if you haven’t built it yet you can find out where it is in simtown from the town map
The higher level you are in a career or hobby the more chance you have of winning first prize at the competition center.

When you click on the competition center (as shown in the picture below) it will appear with a competition (I had the archery hobby) it tells you how much you will get for each placing (which is always the same, regardless of the competition you get):

  • 1st place- 3LP
  • 2nd place- 1LP
  • 3rd place- S1000 and 1000XPs
  • 4th place- S500 and 500XPs

Then you can select a sim- always go for the sim with the highest level in that hobby/career (it will tell you what level your sims are at)

For example: Zack is level 6 in archery so I would definitely use him over Hayley who has never done archery before (level 0/6)

NOTE: your sim must not be busy for them to partake in a competition, they will appear greyed out if they are busy.

Once you have selected your sim they will be busy competing for 24 hours, once the time is up you will need to go back to the competition center to see where they were placed.

If your sim is level 6 then they should come first but they don’t always!

image

At 9am everyday a new competition becomes available if your sim isn’t partaking in one already so keep checking back until you find one that you want to do!

NOTE: If you changed a sims career or hobby, for example if they did cooking and then you changed them to fishing their skill level for cooking will now be 0 so entering a cooking competition will earn them fourth place.

Is it worth it? I rarely use the competition center if I am being completely honest, it is a good way to make a few extra LP but it does mean your sim cannot do anything else for a whole day.

Which careers appear at the competition center?

  • Art (Artist Career)
  • Acting (Filmmaker Career)
  • Athletics (Athlete Career)
  • Firefighting (Firefighter Career)
  • High School Student (teen required)
  • Music (Musician Career)
  • Politics (Politician Career)
  • Real Estate (Real Estate Agent Career)
  • Science (Scientist Career)
  • Student (preteen required)
  • Teaching (Teacher Career)

Which hobbies appear at the competition center?

  • Aerobics
  • Arcade Gamer
  • Archery
  • Ballet
  • Bird Feeding
  • Bowling
  • Breakdancing Battle (Breakdancing Hobby)
  • Broomstick Flying
  • Catwalk Modelling (Catwalk Model Hobby)
  • Chocolatier
  • Class Clown
  • Cooking
  • Diving
  • Fashion (Fashion Designer Hobby)
  • Fashion Hunter
  • Figure Skating
  • Finger Painting
  • Fishing
  • Ghost Hunting
  • Juggling
  • Karate
  • Musical Expression
  • Pinballer (Pinball Enthusiast Hobby)
  • Potion Brewing
  • Quilting
  • Salsa Dancing
  • Sculpture
  • Sim Nation Teen Idol (Teen Idol Hobby)
  • Skill Tester
  • Spell Casting
  • Storytelling (Storyteller Hobby)
  • Survivalist
  • Toddler Playhouse
  • Woodworking

These are all the ones I have seen so far but I am still updating this post, if you have seen others please comment and I will add them to this post

NOTE: you may get competitions for hobbies and careers you have not yet unlocked

The Sims Freeplay- The Beach

This is a guide to the beach, once you complete the Life Dreams and Legacies Quest you will have the ability to unlock the beach.

20150724-164206.jpg

Building the beach requires orbs, 2 bronze and 2 silver sporty orbs.

This post explains how you earn orbs

Once you unlock the beach you unlock the Seashell Collecting hobby that toddlers and preteens can partake in.

There are two other hobbies at the beach, Surfing and Snorkelling, these both require orbs to build the kiosks to start these hobbies:

20150724-164155.jpg

There is also a swimming kiosk which also requires orbs to build, it is basically a swimming pool in the sea, so you use it the same as you would at the swim center or a pool at home, it also has a diving board.

Other things at the beach include:

  • Sandcastles
  • BBQs
  • Lifeguard chairs

  • Beach towels

20150830-160423.jpg

  • Poolside recliners

20150830-160402.jpg

  • Picnic Table
  • Park Benches
  • Stereo

20150830-160430.jpg

  • Toilets

20150830-160442.jpg

  • Shower
  • A pier
  • Fishing rod (at end of pier to do the Fishing hobby)

20150830-160456.jpg

I think that is about everything, I really like the beach, I definitely think its worth the amount of time it takes to earn all the orbs! If you want detailed information on any of the hobbies please click on the links above!
