The Sims Freeplay- Competition Center

The competition center is a good way to earn extra LP or simoleons, if you haven’t built it yet you can find out where it is in simtown from the town map 
The higher level you are in a career or hobby the more chance you have of winning first prize at the competition center.

When you click on the competition center (as shown in the picture below) it will appear with a competition (I had the archery hobby) it tells you how much you will get for each placing (which is always the same, regardless of the competition you get):

  • 1st place- 3LP
  • 2nd place- 1LP
  • 3rd place- S1000 and 1000XPs
  • 4th place- S500 and 500XPs

Then you can select a sim- always go for the sim with the highest level in that hobby/career (it will tell you what level your sims are at)

For example: Zack is level 6 in archery so I would definitely use him over Hayley who has never done archery before (level 0/6)

NOTE: your sim must not be busy for them to partake in a competition, they will appear greyed out if they are busy.

Once you have selected your sim they will be busy competing for 24 hours, once the time is up you will need to go back to the competition center to see where they were placed.

If your sim is level 6 then they should come first but they don’t always!

At 9am everyday a new competition becomes available if your sim isn’t partaking in one already so keep checking back until you find one that you want to do!

NOTE: If you changed a sims career or hobby, for example if they did cooking and then you changed them to fishing their skill level for cooking will now be 0 so entering a cooking competition will earn them fourth place.

Is it worth it? I rarely use the competition center if I am being completely honest, it is a good way to make a few extra LP but it does mean your sim cannot do anything else for a whole day.

  2. On the competition center, I have so many sims to take care of now (26) that sending one there for the entire day is kind of a relief! xD It is also a good way to give seniors something to do if they are highly skilled in their hobby and it pops up.

  5. Hi!!!!
    What if I don’t select any sim? Will I still earn a prize like automatically? You see, I got 4th place’s prize a few times already when I didn’t even select any sim to join the competition! Another one is, it’s about hobby right? For example, it’s come to science competition, if I select a sim that work as a scientist (mad scientist), that still mean nothing since he never practice anything?

    • No you won’t, you probably just forgot to check when a sim finished once so the next time you went back you saw where you were placed in that last competition
      No, there are careers too, so science competition is the science career (the higher the promotion you have in that career the higher you will be placed in the competition)

  6. I Accidentally did the time glitch thing and now my competition says 300000 Hours and 22min . Is there anyway to reset this?

  7. Hi! So first, thank you so much for doing all of this! It’s amazing work and your dedication is really appreciated. I was wondering which hobbies pop up at the competition center? I like to have one sin at the maximum for each hobby so I can use them, but I’ve noticed the pet hobbies or horse riding hobbies never seem to show up. I wantes to use those sims for the time limited hobby prizes and I was wondering if there’s any chance I might need them for the competition center.

    • You’re welcome! I have just updated this post with all the hobbies I have seen so far but this is still an incomplete list- however I have also noticed that none of the pet or horse hobbies appear.

  9. I noticed Salsa Dancing isn’t on your list, I just got that in the competition center today. FYI! And it only made me choose one sim instead of two, so that was nice, since the actual hobby requires two sims.

  11. I’m sorry to ask such a dumb question but how cpdo practice archery, ghost hunting,chocolatier, quilting, survivalist , skill tester, bird feeding, catwalk modelling ,broomstick flying ?

  17. I love the Competition Center! It’s my no.1 resource for LPs besides repeating the ghost hunting and playhouse hobby, keeps them rolling in.
    I try to have one maximum-level Sim of every hobby, then I’ll send them for competition after work.

    Sometimes I get a glitch where I didn’t send in any Sims for competition and get a 3rd/4th prize.

  20. Hey, what if I haven’t unlocked a hobby yet? Will I still get a competition from that hobby? For example, if I haven’t unlocked the archery hobby will I still have to compete in the archery competition?

  21. The above isn’t true. You definitely get competitions for hobbies and careers you haven’t unlocked yet. I got karate today, which only teens can enter, not adult sims. I only have a baby so can’t enter. Will just have to wait for it to reset and give me a new competition.

  23. Class Clown appears in the Competition Center, too! The description is “Can your Sim outclown the competition?”. Too bad I forgot to get a screenshot as proof, but I guarantee you the Class Clown hobby does have a competition associated with it!
