The Sims Freeplay- Items Needed To Create The Best Social Tasks House!

Do you often visit a neighbours town and you cannot find the items you need to complete social tasks in one place? This post will stop you being that neighbour and instead be able to create a house full of all the social items needed so you can become the best neighbour in simtown!

find my list of Social Tasks here

The house ideally needs to be at least 2 storys so you can add a firepole

Garden Items:

  • A pool with an inflatable pool toy and a diving board
  • A pool for your neighbours to clean (doesn’t have to be a dirty pool)

TIP: I think its best to have 2 pools, one clean and one dirty so if your neighbour is looking to swim they don’t have to clean the pool first

  • Poolside Recliner
  • Sleeping Bag
  • Garden Patch to plant:

TIP: again you could have two garden patches, one that they can use to plant and the other one with a sim eating plant that they can negotiate with it (grow lettuce until it turns into a sim eating plant)

Pets:

  • A Cat
  • A Dog and a Frisbee

Main Career and Hobby Items (these can be brought from the promotions r us store once they have been unlocked):

  • Auction Podium
  • Guitar
  • Easel
  • Telescope
  • Camera
  • Soccer Ball
  • Fashion Studio
  • Fire Hydrant
  • Mirror
  • Woodworking Bench

I’m not sure exactly how many of the hobbies appear in social tasks so I’ve only listed the most commonly asked for hobby items here but I would recommend you have all the hobby items you can in this one house. My house below is still a working progress, each time I unlock a new hobby I add that item to the house, some may not be needed to complete tasks but they will be helpful for neighbours completing time limited hobby events!

  •  Haunted Items– for the ghost hunting hobby (these can be found in buy mode, look for the red ghost symbol!)

Other Important Items:

  • Car
  • Teen Study Desk
  • Preteen Bookshelf
  • MP3 Player
  • Magazines
  • BBQ
  • Foosball Table (although there is one in Another Simtown!)
  • Trampoline
  • Phone
  • TV
  • Stereo
  • Computer
  • Toddler Building Blocks
  • Bookcase
  • Toilet
  • Sink
  • Shower
  • Bed
  • Wardrobe
  • Sofa
  • Chair
  • Bath
  • Coffee Machine
  • Teapot
  • Fridge
  • Oven:

TIP: It is best to have 2 ovens, a normal one so your neighbours can bake items and the other one that is on fire (cook brownies until they cause a fire so your neighbours can extinguish it)

Also its great if you have some places in your town such as The Mall, Community CenterCampgrounds and Snow Park built!

What about a pet farm? When it was possible to have more than 2 pets in a house some players created pet farms which neighbours like to visit to find treasure from these pets quickly, it isn’t possible to make one anymore.

Once you have finished editing your house you will need to Save to the Cloud so your neighbours can see the changes you have made.

The Sims Freeplay- The Cloud: Saving the Game

Connecting to the cloud is how you save your game so if you ever have a problem with your device or want to change devices knowing how to connect to the cloud will stop you from losing your game, for example, if you wanted to change your device you would be able to get your game onto that new device within 7 days and you won’t have to start all over again- it is a good idea to do it everyday just as a back up in case! (it does automatically do it if you connect to the party boat but it is always useful to know how to do it yourself)

Connecting to the Cloud

To connect to the cloud you need to firstly be connected to Facebook, Apple, Game Center or Google Play Games (how to connect to Facebook and Game Center are covered in my Adding Neighbours post as both these can be used to add neighbours)

Sign in with Apple is a new option for Apple products so you can sign in with your Apple ID (on the settings screen- see under ‘uploading’ in this post- click on the key button (bottom right) to sign in with your Apple ID:

Sorry I no longer have an Android so I cannot show you how to connect your game to Google Play Games (this is where you download your games from)

Uploading

Once connected go into settings in the game (click on the green button with 3 white dots on it) you will then see these options:

Click on the cloud button and you will see this window appear:

Click upload save data and your game will be saved

Click here to watch my video on how to save to the cloud

Help! My neighbours can’t see an item in my town, why is that? They can’t see it because they aren’t seeing the most up to date version of your game, you need to connect to the cloud for them to see this version of your game.

Downloading

If you are transferring to a different device you can select on that device from in the game ‘download save data’ and you will have your game back as long as you are connected to the same account that you saved your game from on your other device:

NOTE: if you are planning to go from an Android to an Apple or the other way around and you want to keep your game, make sure you save to Facebook as this is the only option to save available on both devices.

Unable to connect to the cloud?

If you can’t connect click on the Facebook icon in the settings and it will probably say unknown user so log out and log in again and it should work! If it still isn’t working you may want to contact the makers to see if there is anything they can do to fix this for you, this post explains how to contact them if you are unsure.

The Sims Freeplay- Adding Neighbours

Only have access to Another Sim Town? Find out what it contains here!

If you are playing on an Apple product you have the choice between Game Center and/or Facebook to add neighbours (although they have now made the Game Center option difficult) and if you are on an Android you will have the option of Facebook only as Google+ is no longer available.

Apple and Androids: Connecting The Sims Freeplay to Facebook

To add a neighbour using Facebook you need to have your game connected to your account, to do this log into the Facebook app then go to settings in the Sims Freeplay (the green button with 3 white dots in it) and you will see these options appear:

Click on the key button (bottom right) and it will say not signed in, press the green log in button and it will go to Facebook then come back to the game and you should see this (check that it is the right account):

NOTE: my Facebook account has been suspended so I am unable to add anymore players, sorry!

Facebook Adding

Once connected, when you add a friend on Facebook, if they play The Sims Freeplay and have connected their game they will be added to your party boat automatically.

Apple: Game Center Adding

NOTE: as of iOS 10 the Game Center app has been removed you can still add neighbours but they have made it a lot harder to do, you now have to iMessage the person you want to add or you can also allow nearby people to add you from Settings > Game Center > Allow nearby people to add you through WiFi or Bluetooth. If you don’t have iOS 10 or above the steps below should still work but you may find players on iOS 10 or above are unable to accept your requests.

Game Center is an app on your Apple product, it should already be on your device.
Open it up and you will see 5 tabs at the bottom of the screen

Me, Friends, Games, Challenges and Turns

  • In the me tab you can set your username, this is what people use to add you, you can also change your photo here.
  • In the friends tab you will see all of your friends you already have and any friend requests you have
  • In the games tab you will see all the games you play and all of your achievements

To add a player you need to know their username or email address, once you do go to the friends tab and in the top right hand corner there is a +

This will open up a new window, in the ‘to’ box write the players username or email and in the big box below you can add a message to that person.

Once they have accepted your request if they have the game they will appear in your party boat.

You can have 500 friends on Game Center but only 100 appear in your party boat.

Androids: Google Play Games Adding

Google+ has been removed so you can no longer add players this way on an Android (Facebook is your only option) but you can still save your game with Google Play Games

Deleting a Neighbour

To delete a neighbour you just need to delete them from Facebook and/or Game Center

Help! My neighbours can’t see an item in my town, why is that?

They can’t see it because they aren’t seeing the most up to date version of your game, you need to connect to the cloud for them to see this version of your game.

Please note it can take a while for neighbours to appear in your party boat after adding so be patient!

Bakery and Restaurant Story- Bossy Neighbours

I’m a very busy person, I take only a few minutes out of my day for a break to play these 2 games- this is when I have food that is ready to serve, I have to plan the food to be ready at a time that suits me.

It really annoys me when the small minority of my neighbours are bossy- they create rules about how they expect me to tip them every single day, and to write on their wall once I have tipped them! I don’t have the time. Then they leave an angry note on my wall saying they have deleted me (Why the rules? It ruins the game for everyone) If I did this I would waste hours of my life on both these games as I have so many neighbours. I think it is much more important that if a neighbour asks me to send them something they have requested I do so.

Having to rely on other people is a thing that really bugs me about games-  With these games you have to ask people to send you things so you can build new ovens or if you need to receive something so you can complete a goal so that is why I have soo many neighbours, so I know that if a few stop playing for a while I can still complete the tasks.

If you would like to add me on either bakery story or restaurant story my ID is charlyisgr8

If you expect people to send you gifts and tip you everyday then don’t add me, I don’t care if you don’t tip me everyday and don’t write on my wall to tell me (if you go to news you can see who has tipped you anyway!) and I don’t keep count of those who haven’t tipped me in a while because it is a waste of time and I know that not everyone has the time- its only a game after all!

I welcome anyone who will just accept my requests when I ask for them to send me something- that is all 🙂

My new way of tipping:

  • I will now tip you at least once a week (twice if I can) but only if your shop isn’t full (oh and that reminds me- you don’t need to write on my wall to say my shop is full- I will see when I come back on!) and the same with gifts.
  • I will then post on my own wall to say that I have tipped and gifted everyone I could (so if you really need to know that it was me you can find out there)

What do you think about bossy neighbours? Or are you one of them?
