This is going to be a very quick post as there isn’t much to say about the pet salon but I have been asked about it.

If you don’t know where to find it it is near the competition center (the location can be found on my town map post)

What can you find in the pet salon?

If you complete the A Puppy Odyssey quest in the time limit you unlock outfits for your kittens and puppies that can be brought from the pet salon

The main reason for it though is to buy collars for your adult cats and dogs so they can go to the Pet Park (which can be built once you complete the life dreams and legacies quest) to complete the Cat Show, Dog Agility and Dog Obedience hobbies!

You can also buy Christmas antlers and hats for your adult cats and dogs!

How do you buy items?

The pet salon works the same way as the sims salon, you select the pet you want then you can choose the collar, hat, headwear or outfit for them to wear and click the green tick in the corner to buy

Dog– collars, hats and headwear

Cat– collars, hats and headwear

Puppy– outfits (if you complete the A Puppy Odyssey quest in the time limit)

Kitten– outfits (if you complete the A Puppy Odyssey quest in the time limit)

How do I remove an item? Click the back arrow which is the first box on the options

If I replace an item with another one, would the first be stored? No, you would have to buy it again

How do I send a pet to the pet park once they are wearing a collar? Click on the pet and select, send to pet park

This post is about pets; it will explain about dogs, puppies, cats, kittens and rabbits, what accessories you can get and how they interact with your sims. If you want to know how to buy a pet please read the Pet Store post.

REMEMBER: you can only have two pets brought from the pet store living in a house

How can I get my pet to use the accessories? Most items you click on the item and select call over, most of the time if they aren’t busy they will use it but they sometimes use items without being prompted.

NOTE: food and water bowls need to be filled up once a dog has emptied them, you can either get a sim to click on the bowl and select fill or you can store the bowl in your inventory and get it out again and it will refill.

Do you need to buy accessories? Not if you don’t want to, no. They do use them sometimes but they are mainly for decoration. It doesn’t increase their happiness if they have these items.

How do I play frisbee with a dog? To complete this task you need to buy a frisbee and place it on the ground at a house where the dog lives, a sim can then click on the frisbee and play with the dog.

Dog Hobbies

Once you complete the life dreams and legacies quest and build the pet park your dogs can partake in Dog Agility and Dog Obedience hobbies (to take a dog to the pet park they need to be wearing a collar from the Pet Salon)

Collecting Treasure

Once you have brought the pet they will wander around the house and garden and collect treasure.

Collecting treasure using dogs

A dog will run off and a shovel bubble will appear above their head, click on it and they will dig up simoleons or LPs.

Collecting treasure using cats

A cat will run off and a exclamation mark bubble will appear above their head, click on it and they will pounce on simoleons or LPs.

NOTE: The higher the star rating of a cat or dog the more LPs and simoleons they should find

Puppies and Kittens cannot find treasure

Ageing Puppies and Kittens

To do this you need to bake a birthday biscuit on a stove (which cost 15LP and take a day to cook) then click on a puppy or kitten and select the option to Age to Adult:

You only need to bake one birthday biscuit for each pet you would like to age

Renaming a Pet

Click on the pet, select rename and you can then choose a new name for your pet

Relocating a Pet

Click on the pet, select relocate and select a sim from the list that appears, that pet will then move to that sims house

Happiness Bar

The happiness bar indicates how happy your pet is, the more unhappy they are the slower they walk and the less treasure they will find.

To make a pet happy you need a sim to click on the pet and select an option with a smiley face, for example on a dog you can shake hands or praise to increase their happiness:

Deleting a Pet

Click on the pet, select relocate and the first option is put up for adoption which will remove the pet from your game

RABBITS

can be found in buy mode under pets

What rabbits can you buy?

1 Star Rabbits cost:

S15,000
12LP

2 Star Rabbit cost:

20LP

3 Star Rabbit cost:

30LP

Rabbit Interactions with Sims

NOTE: the time the interactions take depends on the star rating of the pet

Adult, Teen and Preteen Options:

Senior Option:

Babies and Toddlers cannot interact with a rabbit

That is all you can do with rabbits, they do not find simoleons or LPs like dogs and cats

Can pets die?

No! Your pets don’t die, even when they are unhappy

There are a few other pets that you may have in your pet store but these are not mentioned in this post as not everyone has access to them as they were limited timed prizes

The Sims Freeplay- Getting Divorced

If you have two married sims that you no longer want to be together you can get them divorced.

To do this you need to get them to either be rude or complain to each other
There will then be an option to Divorce for 12 seconds:

They will now no longer be together but they will still have the same last name and will be living in the same house.

To move one of them out you can either:

Move them into a new empty house by selecting the relocate existing sim option:

Or move them in with another sim, either as good friends or romantically (moving in with another sim will change their last name to the sims they are going to be living with)

If they have children you will have to decide who they are going to live with:

If the children are babies, toddlers or preteens they cannot move out with the parent who moves out so they will have to live with the parent who is staying at that house (once the parent who is leaving has moved out you can select relocate family on an empty house to move the remaining family to a different house if you want to)
If the children are teenagers they can move out with the parent who moves out (when the parent moves out they can become good friends with them if they aren’t already and select move in with sim)

What relation are the children to the parents and their new partners if they have one?

Their parents will still be their parents so it will say mom or dad when they want to interact with them
Their parents new partners will have no relation to the children

If they have children with a new partner the children will all be siblings

Who gets which last name?

If the sim who moves out moves in with someone else they will get their last name, for example if John Smith moved in with Jane Hill he will become John Hill
If the sim moves into an empty house they will keep their own last name

Can I change my sims last name?

Yes, if you click on that sim and select Ultimate Makeover you will be able to change their surname but it will cost you 12LP

If the mother wants to move out with a new partner will the children be able to come too?

No, the children will remain in the other house, you need the partner to move in with the mother to keep the family together

Do you get the ring back to use again? No, you will have to buy a new ring to marry future sims

The Sims Freeplay- Hobbies: Internet Kitten

A PUPPY ODYSSEY QUEST – KITTEN AND KITTEN PLAY BOX – TEEN AND ADULT SIMS – PRIZES: PERSIAN CAT BREED, RUGS AND 3LP

Once you complete the A Puppy Odyssey Quest you can buy a kitten from the pet store and a kitten play box from the promotions r us store, then your teen and adult sims can complete this hobby

NOTE: you cannot complete this hobby without having a kitten in the same house that you place the play box

I cannot find it in my home store to place it? You need to look in your inventory under the hobby and career items section

I cannot place the play box, it says its locked/ limited item, what do I do? You will have this problem if you try and place it from the new items tab, look in your inventory instead to be able to place the play box in one of your sims houses.

Once placed tap on it and select one of the options:

Kitten Snippet- 1 hour 15 minutes
Kitten Series- 6 hours 30 minutes
Kitten Compilation- 12 hours 30 minutes

3 sims and 3 kittens can complete this hobby at the same time (you will need 3 kitten play boxes)

After the time has passed come back and click the exclamation mark above your sims head to find one of the internet kitten collectibles. Every time your sims complete one of the options above their internet kitten hobby skill level up percentage will increase, once they reach 100% they will level up, there are 6 levels. You need to reach level 6 to be able to unlock all of the internet kitten collectibles, once unlocked you will be able to find them.

The table below shows the level up percentage for each option:

NOTE: only the first sim completing this hobby needs to get to level 6 to unlock all the collectibles, future sims will be able to find any collectible even if they are only on level 1 in this hobby (and they can do the shortest option to try and find the collectibles quicker!)

You won’t find a new collectible each time, you will get repeats, if this happens just keep going, you will find them eventually! If it is still taking too long you can use the lucky spin on the row where you cannot find the item, this will cost LPs, when you click on the LP button it will clear the row and give you a random collectible on that row so you aren’t guaranteed a new item (you will get back any other collectibles you already had in that row) Need to earn some LPs to use the lucky spin?

The completed internet kitten collection is shown below, once you complete the collection you need to click ‘reset the collection’ at the top of the hobby collection screen, this clears the board so you can complete the collection again to earn more rewards (you will only get the option to restart the hobby collection when you have completed the collection):

You will earn XPs when you complete a row in the hobby but to complete the collection you need to find all 12 of the collectibles

The rewards for completing this collection are the Persian cat breed, rugs and 3LP:

The first time you complete this collection you unlock the Persian cat breed, you can find them in the pet store. The Persian cats are very expensive but they are both three stars, the kitten costs 68LP and the adult costs 82LP!

The second to the sixth time you complete this collection you will unlock rugs (you will receive one of the following at random each time you complete the hobby)

NOTE: The first picture shows you all the shapes each rug comes in, after that the other pictures just show you one rug so you can see the design and the prices for each

From the seventh time onwards each time you complete the collection you will earn 3LP

TIME LIMITED HOBBY – TIME: 7 DAYS – TIME LIMITED PRIZE: POODLE DOG BREED

Once you complete the A Puppy Odyssey Quest the 7 day time limit to unlock the poodle dog breed in this hobby will begin straight away:

You need to buy a puppy from the pet store and a puppy play mat from the promotions r us store, then your teen and adult sims can complete this hobby

NOTE: you cannot complete this hobby without having a puppy in the same house that you place the play mat
