I have missed this quest! Why can’t I start it yet?
You cannot miss main quests they have to be completed in order. You need to complete all previous quests (list can be found here) and reach level 9 before you can start this quest
Can I complete this quest even though I have passed level 9?
Yes, you just need to complete all previous quests then this quest will start automatically
I can’t place the magazines in my house, why?
You need to put them on a table or counter, you cannot place them on the floor
I have played the sims on a computer but it doesn’t complete the goal, why?
Are you sure you are playing the sims, not sim city?
Why do blue footprints appear when I try to use an item?
Blue footprints appear when your sim cannot access an item you want them to use, you need to either rotate the item or move an item that has been placed in front of it so they can use it.
How do I send my sim to the park?
Go to the park and click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker,this post explains more about the simtracker

Hey there, just curious. I have just completed the Ocean View Estate Quest… I did it within the time, but are unable to find where to get the house they promise if you do it within the time. Would love a hand if you have any answers?
When you click to build a house, a list of all the houses appears, you should be able to find it towards the end of the list 🙂

I think we have the same problem.
I check the build house near the beachside check the last part of the house selection and I couldn’t find the Beachside Escape for free I could only see the 50sp one.
It’s not free, you have to buy it

You need to go to the far right of the town screen, the smallish red building is the real estate agency, click it and it will show you the requirements needed to build it

What happens if you run out of time? I’m going to miss the deadline by about 12 hours – does this mean I won’t be able to use any of the properties along the beach?
No it just means you won’t unlock the beach house

You can only send a sim to work at the estate agents between 9am and 11am

Try moving it to a place that your sim can get to it, it may need rotating

I’ve already made every step. But then it says “send to work and open gate/door”, so I sent my sim, but nothing happens, how do I open the gate? Do I need anything special?

im on this quest and it is not allowing me to finish because it wont allow for my realtor sims to go to work. idk what to do. i have deleted the game and re-added it. and it still wont allow it. idk what else to do

In the new update (legacy) the last goal is replaced by simply using the stereo. This is great because I am not available at 8-10am to send my sim to work 😀

I just finished it, and the last task was to dance – so they might’ve changed it (just started it over, and I think when I did the first time, I was supposed to send one to work).
Well I wrote this two updates ago so yes they have probably changed it by now
I ended up buying the beach side escape for 3.99 but can’t find it help
If you click on a beachside property you should find it at the end of the list

You can make your own design, the house isn’t really that great but it may contain items that you haven’t unlocked yet but it won’t contain anything that you won’t find in the store
how do you get a preteen sim to practice ballet skills in a neighbors town (level 9)
Do you have a preteen sim yet? If not you will have to complete the preparing for preteens quest first, then send the preteen to a neighbours town to the community center to the ballet section
What happen if my quest is timed-out?

Is the cost of the beachside escape always 50lp even as the value of your town increases? Or does the price increase like neo Tokyo and the other houses that cost Simoleons?

Yes you should
Maybe it changed with one of the updates, but my banana bread went up in flames and not only I got nothing, but starting all over means there’s no way I will make it in time for the prize. Please consider warning people to start it early *with as many sims as possible*.
Well it used to work when things burnt, its not my fault if they decide to change things.
I assure you I’m not saying it is, just that it changed and now people might have to start anew a very time-consuming part of the quest due to bad luck. It would be good to let them know about it just the way you inform us of the duration of tasks.
By the way, I had to uninstall the game, after the update it demanded more space than my tablet has
If only there was a way to undo an update… 
Actually this hasn’t changed, I have started the game again and because the goal completes before you click on the banana bread it burning doesn’t matter as it will burn after you have completed the goal
Hopefully with the next update they will sort out the memory issue!

I’m almost level 11 and the ocean view estate and bridge quest have not appeared for me? I’m new to the game and I’m not sure if I have to do something else in game to trigger these? I do all quests as they come in except the neighbour ones.
What quest are you on at the moment? You need to complete them in order to unlock this quest
Currently I am on: Two and A Half Sims (the stalk is in the process of bringing the baby)
and then weekly tasks I’m on Take a deep sleep in another Sim’s house and then the social one I’m up to is have a sim design fashion in a neighbor’s house.
I don’t know if I levelled quicker than the quests or something? I really only wanted to play cos of the horses – so I’ve been hard at it trying to get to level 12.

I didnt complete oceanview estates on time, so i purchased the beachside retreat..where do i find purchased items? I even checked the all the houses listed and its not there..when i go back to the store and click on beachside house it says purchased already..how do i add the house? help pls!!
If you go into settings and click reset purchases it should appear 🙂
I’m curious about how big is the ocean view estate houses because with the normal properties the land is 18×18. Does anyone know the dimensions for the ocean view houses?

I’m almost done with the Two and a Half Sims quest and I want to wait a little before I start my next quest. Will the time automatically begin counting down, or will it start when I do the the first task? Great blog, it’s really helpful.
The time will count down if you are on the level 9+ already, if you aren’t on level 9 it will only start counting down when you reach level 9

It says I need more Sims in order to build the real estate agency. I already have 11, how many do I need?
I cant remember how many you need sorry, but it definitely isn’t over 11 as I only had 6 or 7 when I built it. Do you have enough money?
I added another Sim since my last post and I can now access the building of the real estate office, so for me the magic number is apparently a dozen. The other little issue I have is getting the infants toilet icon to clear. I’ve tried moving the crib to the bathroom and changing the diaper there like some have suggested but that doesn’t seem to work either. Any thoughts?
Strange, it shouldn’t have required 12!
The babies will go to the toilet when they want to in their diaper, when they have gone their toilet bar will be green and the hygenie will be low so thats when you change their diaper
is there a perk to buying the premade houses on a normal residence property vs the ocean view? like more sims per household?
i see the added town value is the same but it costs more simoleons/lp for the ocean residences ..
the ocean view is on a premium plot which means that it is bigger than a standard plot, that is the only perk 🙂

Its a virtual computer in the game, you dont need to buy a real computer

Right go onto sims freeplay, go to a house and click on the icon at the bottom of the screen of a chair and a lamp, this will open buy mode, you need to spend virtual game money to buy a virtual computer so go to the electronics section and find one, if you have enough money click on it to place in your house, if not save up to buy it. Then you can send a sim to click on it and select the option to do this task.
