To begin this discovery quest you need to click on the salsa dancers in the park next to the thinking man statue. If you complete this quest in the time limit you will unlock rugs. You can still complete this quest once the time is up to unlock the salsa dancing and breakdancing hobbies but you will not get the rugs
You cannot complete this quest at the same time as any other discovery quest
HOW LONG DOES THIS QUEST TAKE TO COMPLETE?
Times may vary depending on the star rating an item has.
- Watch the dancing couple- 2 minutes
- Enthuse to a sim about dancers- 12 seconds
- Talk to the dancers- 15 minutes
- Drive from the park to the villa (using the red car that appears)
- Have 5 sims at the villa (use whistles on the simtracker)
- Eat Hors D’oeures- 10 minutes (on the table in the villa)
- Have 5 sims cheer on the fantasias- 2 minutes (Can’t cheer on? Send your sim home from the villa and back to the park then use the car again to get back to the villa, the dancers should appear and you should be able to complete this task)
- Have 2 pairs of sims chatting- 10 hours 30 minutes (2 pairs=4 sims)
- Thank the fantasias- 1 minute (select interaction with one of them)
- Have all sims leave the villa (click on the car to drive home or use the simtracker)
- Have a sim hibernate- 19 hours (can be started early)
- Salsa dance to a stereo- 16 seconds
- Read spicy salsa from a bookshelf- 7 hours 30 minutes
- Place an ad on a computer- 12 minutes
- Watch dance lessons on TV- 22 hours
- Check email- 36 seconds (on a computer)
- Send a sim to the park
- Wait excitedly on a bench in the park- 8 hours 30 minutes
- Assess dancers- you need to access 3 dancers in turn:
- Dancer 1- 5 seconds
- Dancer 2- 10 seconds
- Dancer 3- 12 seconds
- Have 2 sims at the park
- Be hilarious to another sim- 4 hours 30 minutes (select interaction between two sims)
- Dance with another sim- 3 seconds (interaction again)
- Have 2 sims watch a movie marathon- 8 hours (can be started early)
- Have 2 sims play a long chess game- 2 hours 30 minutes (click on chess board in park)
- Have 2 sims eat a meal- 10 minutes (select cooking on the stove to cook cheese on toast- 1 minute then select call to meal)
- Have 2 sims dance to a stereo- 2 minutes 42 seconds
- Practice dancing together- 1 hour 30 minutes (practice salsa interaction between two sims)
- Have a sim hibernate- 19 hours (can be started early)
- Send a sim to the park
- Investigate meowing – 5 minutes (under bridge in park)
- Rescue cat from under the bridge- 10 hours 30 minutes (what a way to waste time!)
- Have 2 sims at the villa- using the car at the park
- Apologise for being late- 8 seconds (click on one of the fantasias)
- Dance at the villa- 4 hours 30 minutes (sim one clicks on jukebox and selects wait for sim, sim two clicks on jukebox and selects dance with partner)
- Have all sims leave the villa (use the simtracker)
QUEST IS COMPLETE!
You can now complete the Salsa Dancing Hobby! You need to buy the jukebox from the promotions r us store for S5,000 to start this hobby. The time limit for the hobby begins as soon as you complete this quest

Where can I find them? In the rugs section of the home store
- Costs 5 social points each: Break Dancing Mat, Latin Orange 4×1, Latin White 4×1, Latin Ballroom Rug and Bathroom Rug
- Costs 6 social points each: Latin Orange 3×2 and Latin White 3×2
- Costs 7 social points each: Latin Orange 4×2 and Latin White 4×2

You cannot do more than one discovery quest at the same time, if you are currently on another one (the list can be found here) you will not be able to do this one until that one is completed
Can I do discovery quests at the same time as a main quest?
Yes you can
Do I have to do this quest?
If you don’t start the quest you don’t have to do it at all but if you have already started it you need to complete it before you can move on to the next quest
I haven’t started this quest yet, will it still be available when I want to do it?
Yes it will be, you can choose to start it whenever you like
Help! I used the wrong aged sim to watch the dancing couple, now I can’t enthuse, what should I do?
Try using two adult sims to enthuse, if you still don’t get the option you may need to contact the makers
I left the villa, how do I get back?
Use the car at the park
I explored the villa but the roof is still on, how do I eat hors d’oeures?
You will need to contact the makers to see if they can fix this for you as I am unable to fix technical issues
My sims won’t cheer on the fantasias, why?
If they are still in the park you won’t be able to complete this goal. Have all sims leave the villa and go back to the park, restart your device and hopefully the dancers should have left the park. Go back to the villa using the car to cheer them on.
The task have two pairs of sims chatting won’t complete, why?
Are you sure you used 2 pairs of sims? (4 sims)
What do you mean when you say a goal can be started early?
Any goal that you can normally do can be started early because you will have access to it and any goal that you can’t normally do you will have to wait until you get the goal to be able to complete it
The tip with this method is to put the sim doing that action early in a different house that you cannot go to until you get that goal or it will not work
Do you get to keep the cat you rescue?
No, you never see the cat
All sims left the villa but it didn’t complete the task, what should I do?
Try and have all your sims not doing any action, this sometimes makes the game recognise you have completed that goal
What do I get if I complete this quest in the time limit?
Rugs
What happens if I don’t complete in the time limit, can I still finish this quest?
Yes you have to finish it to unlock the salsa dancing hobby before you can move onto the next quest
I didn’t complete in the time limit, can I restart the quest?
No, you cannot redo quests
Can I still get the prize if I don’t complete in the time limit?
No, the only way to get the limited time prizes is by completing the quest in the time limit

No, you have to complete this quest before you can move onto the next one now that you have started it, if you don’t start it you don’t have to do it

Yes, the time limit for the hobby starts straight away once this quest is complete, you can click no when the hobby pop up appears but this does not stop the timer going down

When you finish the quest your supposed to unlock the villa but, I don’t know how to access it again. Also I didn’t get ANY of the rugs, just one LP.
You don’t unlock the villa on this quest, you unlock the villa if you complete the salsa dancing hobby in the time limit
Did you finish the quest on time? If not you won’t unlock the rugs.

No you don’t, maybe try talking to them again?

Mine game is now saying that I need this to unlock sunset mall is this a glitch or if I don’t comete it (which I won’t as running out of time) does this mean that I won’t be able to get the mall
No it isn’t a glitch, they are both discovery quests so you can’t do them at the same time, you have to complete the dance to remember before you can build the mall, you don’t have to complete it in the time limit though, the time limit is only for the rug prize.
Can you still get the villa even if you don’t finish the quest in time?
the villa isn’t a reward for completing the quest in time, the villa is rewarded if you complete the salsa dancing hobby in time but if you don’t complete in time you can’t get the villa, sorry!

You are meant to do that task with another of your sims.

It should be in the living room section of your inventory, unless you sold it by mistake? but for this quest you just have to use the one that is in the park

Are the fantasias at the villa? If not, send all sims home and go back to the park with only one sim, click on the car to go to the villa and hopefully they will be there this time, if not restart your device and try again.
This may be a silly question, but does anyone know if a baby sim can hibernate for that task? I’ve got one already sleeping, and not sure if I need to have an adult sim do it too… Thanks!

Im at the part where im supposed to “wait excitedly on a park bench” but no matter which bench i select, there isnt the option to wait excitedly. Please help, anyone else havint this problem?

What the heck happened to the cat i rescued? Do I not get to keep that thing?
no you don’t get to keep it, you don’t even see the cat.
I’ve spent the last 45 minutes talking to the dancers— the task is 15 minutes long— but it’s not progressing to the next task? I’ve used 2 different sims to speak to BOTH dancers.
Has anyone else had this issue? How were you able to progress to the next task?
A lot of people have had this issue, but they haven’t told me how they fixed it. The only things I can suggest are staying at the park while they do this task for the full 15 minutes and see if that helps, speed up with an LP and if they don’t work you might have to contact EA
The car is not in the park anymore and so are the dancers…i cant find the villa..what should i do?should i reset the game or restart the app or my iPad?only have 2 days left
If you aren’t on a goal to go to the villa then you can’t get there but if you are then I would suggest restarting your iPad and seeing if that helps, if not you may want to contact EA to see if they can fix this issue for you.

Have 2 sims watch a movie marathon didn’t complete straight away for me. I wonder if this is a glitch or an update.
I’ve had the DTR quest on for a while now, but I am unable to eat Hors d’ Oeuvres, because I never got the chance to explore the villa. It’s really annoying me, especially because I can’t build some things like Tower of Sorcery or the castle in the new update until I finish the DRR quest! Urgh!

Hi! I’ve read the comments and found out that some people have the same issue as mine. When it comes to the task “Talk to the dancers”, the task seems never successful no matter how many times I order a sim to do that. There isn’t any xp, either. Moreover, there’s a big problem to my sims town. Before I’m off the game, I usually order sims to do some actions, such as cooking, gardening or going to work… but when I play the game again, the sims weren’t doing anything. For sims who were supposed to be at work were wandering around the house wearing their working clothes and couldn’t be sent to work again although it hadn’t passed 2 hours since their work started. I don’t know what to do :-ss
have you tried skipping with LPs?
Do you save to the cloud before you close your game? That usually stops this from happening on my game
Yeah I did but it keeps happening. I read the instructions on their website. I did everything they advise but nothing worked. And now, when the sims stop working, I have to uninstall the game, download the game and download the saved data =_=
you may need to contact EA then to get them to fix this issue for you

About completing this quest, im trying to figure out if it’s worth using LPs to complete on time.
So completing on time unlocks the villa (?). Where does the villa appear? Do I need to build/buy it? How much does it cost?
Completing it on time also unlocks rugs which can only be bought with SPs?
And merely completing it (after the time limit) unlocks the hobby. That’s all?

No completing the quest in time does not unlock the villa, you need to complete the salsa dancing hobby in 7 days to unlock the villa: https://thegirlwhogames.wordpress.com/2015/01/07/the-sims-freeplay-hobbies-salsa-dancing/ you need to click on an empty house plot to build the villa, it costs 125SPs on a standard plot and 175SPs on a premium plot
Completing in time will only unlock the rugs which all cost SPs
And yes just completing after the time limit unlocks the hobby

Just to share: my Baby Sim hibernated but it didn’t work on the “Have A Sim Hibernate” portion. Perhaps with the royalty update, this quest can no longer be complete with a Baby Sim?
Now I am stuck on this (an adult Sim is now hibernating) and the glitch with “Send 3 Sims to Deep Sleep” quest (tried this a few times, just didn’t work). Bummer.

There is a problem with this goal at the moment, it doesn’t recognise when you complete it, try sending 4 sims to deep sleep instead and see if that works, if not you might have to skip with LPs

Hi 🙂 I can confirm that none of the actions complete immediately (watch movie marathon, play long chess game, eat a meal together) complete immediately. It seems EA thought this was a problem 😦 I’ll be on the lookout to see if this applies to every quest.
I would love to add the times to the quest but I don’t know how long it takes to play the chess game

You need to complete this quest to unlock the salsa dancing hobby but you can still complete the quest once the time limit is up
You will need to do this quest before you can do any other discovery quest (book of spells, royal lineage or mall) and you will need to complete the salsa dancing hobby to unlock the breakdancing hobby

Hi there. I dont see the salsa dancers by the thinking man statue in the park. And i can never connect to the party boat so i only have 6 SPs which means i Cqnt ourchase the villa. I live in Jamaica, West Indies and had never accessed the online store or buy the LP plant until the device i play on was in the USA for a week. I had connected to the party boat once or twice before though.
Have you updated your game recently, if you have an older version of the game you won’t find the salsa dancers in the park
Maybe you can’t connect to the online store in Jamaica, some places you just aren’t able to, sorry!
How do I “watch the dancers” (first action)? There’s no option to select and if i just tap on them and watch them, nothing happens.
