To begin this discovery quest you need to find the nanny in the park once you have a baby sim in your town. If you complete this quest in the time limit you will unlock overalls for your infant sims, you can still complete this quest once the time is up to unlock the musical expressions hobby and new baby interactions but you won’t get the overalls
You cannot complete this quest at the same time as any other discovery quest
HOW LONG DOES THIS QUEST TAKE TO COMPLETE?
Note: you need a baby to complete this quest
Times may vary depending on the star rating an item has.
- Meet the Nanny- 1 minute (in park)
- Rant to Nanny Williams- 15 minutes
- Send a sim to an infants home
- Pick up an infant (adult click on infant in crib)
- Relax with an infant on the couch- 15 hours (click on couch)
- Let an infant crawl- 3 seconds (click on the baby while the adult sim is holding them)
- Make an infant crawl (tap anywhere on the ground when controlling the baby)
- Follow obsessively- 6 hours 30 minutes (click on baby)
- Clean infant mess- 12 hours 30 minutes (trashcan)
- Wash garbage off hands- 3 hours 10 minutes (using a sink)
- Ask Nanny for help- 5 hours 30 minutes
- Cry to be picked up (select cry for sim on adult sim)
- Rock to sleep- 1 Day (click on crib)
- Check simbook- 2 hours (using a computer)
- Pick up infant- 9 seconds
- Buy a highchair (infant section of home store)
- Place infant in highchair- 5 seconds (click on highchair) (if you can’t place the baby in the highchair try putting the highchair in the middle of the room with nothing around it)
- Search for soft food in the fridge- 8 hours 30 minutes
- Play with food- 9 hours 30 minutes (baby) (can be started early just start after previous task and you need to go back on the game to complete the previous tasks before this one finishes or it won’t work)
You need to control the baby to do this task so it may be easier to have all other sims in the house busy so the plumbob is over the babies head and you can select the option
- Ask the Nanny where she went- 15 minutes
- Feed soft food- 2 hours 30 minutes (adult needs to click on baby)
- Post photos on simbook- 13 hours (using a computer)
- Ask Nanny Williams to help a friend- 3 hours 30 minutes
- Hug the Nanny goodbye- 3 hours 30 minutes
QUEST IS COMPLETE!
Completing this quest unlocks new baby interactions, these can be found in my Guide to Babies
You also unlock the the Musical Expressions hobby for baby sims which requires a xylophone from the promotions r us store to complete. The time limit for the hobby begins as soon as you complete this quest. The option is 3 hours 10 minutes so I would definitely earn some LPs to try and complete in time

No it won’t as you don’t need to age a baby in the toddler quest
Why can’t I do this discovery quest yet?
You cannot do more than one discovery quest at the same time, if you are currently on another one (the list can be found here) you will not be able to do this one until that one is completed
Do I have to do this quest?
If you don’t start the quest you don’t have to do it at all but if you have already started it you need to complete it before you can move on to the next quest
I haven’t started this quest yet, will it still be available when I want to do it?
Yes it will be, you can choose to start it whenever you like
Do I need a baby for this quest?
Yes you do
I accidentally cleaned up the trash instead of cleaning the infants mess, how do I fix this?
Knock the trashcan over again and select the clean infants mess option
I can’t find any highchairs in buy mode, why?
You need to reach the goal to buy one before you unlock them
I can’t place my infant in a highchair, why?
The back of the highchair needs to be away from a wall or free from objects in the way so they can place the baby in the highchair from behind
What do you mean when you say a goal can be started early?
Any goal that you can normally do can be started early because you will have access to it and any goal that you can’t normally do you will have to wait until you get the goal to be able to complete it
The tip with this method is to put the sim doing that action early in a different house that you cannot go to until you get that goal or it will not work
I can’t get my baby to play with food, why?
The plumbob needs to be over that babies head and you need to click on the baby
Does the nanny stay once the quest is over?
No, she will leave
Why can’t I add a baby?
A crib needs to be placed in the house of a married couple, only married couples can have babies
How many babies can a couple have?
They can have 2 children as only 4 sims can live in a house at one time
How do babies go to the toilet?
They will go in their diaper when they are ready, then you change their diaper to increase their hygiene
What do I get if I complete this quest in the time limit?

What happens if I don’t complete in the time limit, can I still finish this quest?
Yes you have to finish it to unlock the musical expressions hobby before you can move onto the next quest

This quest unlocks the musical expressions hobby, does the time limit start straight away once I have completed this quest?
Yes, the time limit for the hobby starts straight away once this quest is complete, you can click no when the hobby pop up appears but this does not stop the timer going down
Blue footprints appear when my baby tries to use the xylophone, why?
Blue footprints appear when your sim cannot access an item you want them to use, you need to either rotate the item or move an item that has been placed in front of it so they can use it

Ugh I updated the game the day after you did, and today I got the Search for soft food goal and have 30 hours left. Then I decided to check if the post about this quest was up, and seeing the amount of time it would take to complete everything else, realized I wouldn’t get the overalls. Oh well, at least I can comfort myself saying that my three babies will become toddlers soon so that they can talk to their big siblings
Yay! I used my lp’s and went to the game at the correct time so I got the overalls! Totally worth it… and I’m pretty sure I’ll get the baby bouncer too! 😄
Do you think this quest is easy to complete in the time limit without LPs?
Not easy but it is possible
What is the prize for ME hobby? And is it normal hobby like all adults’ hobbies and clubhouse hobby or like preteens’ karate and ballet hobby when you unlock stuff by leveling up?

No it won’t disappear
It doesn’t really matter what you do but I would probably set all adults to plant for a day and have all other sims hibernate
After searching the fridge for soft food, I noticed I don’t have the option to let the infant play with food. When I click on the infant in the high chair it only has the cry for sim and be fed options. My quest seems to be stuck, though I’ve followed all other steps in orders. Any advice? Is there a way to use points to skip a quest’s steps if it glitches like this?

Hey! I know this was 8 years ago but i cant get rid of the highchair? How do i get rid of it after the quest is done? Im trying to build a house!
You will be able to store the highchair like any other item, you won’t be able to store it if the baby is in it so make sure an adult sim picks them up first.

Does the new hobby count down start the moment you finish the quest? ‘Cause I’m almost done with the nanny knows best quest but I’m on hols next week so can’t finish the hobby in time then…. Would you recommend finishing the quest for the new baby clothes or is the reward for the musical expressions hobby price better?
Yes the hobby timer will start as soon as you complete the quest
It depends really, would you prefer the new clothes or a baby bouncer?
If you skip the task follow obsessively. You will have to exit the game come back to kick your trash can in order to complete the next task of cleaning up after infant. It took me a hot minute to figure this out. I hope this helps anybody else who likes to skip parts like I do.

Hi, long time follower, first time poster. Love your site. ^_^ I was just wondering if anyone else was having this same issue since the recent update of Nanny Knows Best. Whenever I choose certain actions such as gardening or sleeping the actions do not get completed. For instance, if I have a Sim plant watermelons which would take an hour the Sim would abandon the plant mid plant. There would be nothing to collect because the Sim did not complete the action. There would be a lovely patch of leaves, no watermelon. Once, one third of the planter was used. Should I report this to EA or wait until they fix their bugs?

I just started the baby music hobby and I’m feeling like this is gonna be impossible without lots of LPs. I wish they would of allowed for more then one per town or made the time less then 6 hours! I love this game but sometimes they don’t consider people having lives outside of the games….

Will this quest dissapear ? I’m still not quite finished with the Salsa Dancing Hobby quest , I still need to finish that one. and also when I checked my park an hour ago there were 2 sims in there. First, the one is the nanny and then the other one with the construction suit ? Will this 2 quest dissapear ?
No, don’t worry the quests will be there until you get around to completing them
The music hobby task takes forever. I’ve used a LOT of LP’s so far. Also, I created a baby for the quest because I didn’t have one. Got through the quest, but one day into the hobby his life timer went red. I used an orb to pause him so I can finish. So, if you don’t have a permament baby in your town start another towards the end of the quest or you’ll have to use an orb to complete the hobby. It would have been nice if EA had expanded lifespan on infants for this one.
This quest is ridiculous. Not enough time to complete.
Has anybody else had issues with the game since this update on Android? I’ll set my Sims to different tasks & exit the game, & come back to find all my Sims doing absolutely nothing. It’s made it nearly impossible to finish quests, especially when certain tasks take long periods of time to complete. I’ve made complaints to the Google app market page for the game, & they had another update but it didn’t fix this problem at all. Is anybody else having this issue?

I accidentally picked the infant up when I was supposed to pick to let him move around on the floor now I can’t get my Sim to put the infant on the floor again
you click on the adult holding the infant and select let them crawl
My nanny disappeared to! I only have one house with one baby. Dad is searching fridge for soft food and I tried the suggestion you gave to also have baby play with food at the same time. That is when I noticed that my Nanny disappeared. ?? Gonna try to restart.

What do mean when you say the “option” is 6 hours and 30 minutes?
the option to complete the hobby is 6 hours 30 minutes.
Since the update I’ve been having massive problems with the game. Every now and then when I go back into the game all of my sims have reset and haven’t done the task I left them to do. Thanks to this bug I won’t be completing the quest in time as some of the longer tasks I left sims to do over night reset. Also the bug where sims start wearing their work clothes is back again. I installed the new update released the other day and thought this bug was gone and I’d be able to complete the quest but my sim posting photos reset so no luck and I have no LP to skip tasks. Very annoyed.

Hey i just wanna say thank you for this blog this really helps me to complete all the quest. But recently Sims Freeplay are having problem my sims just dont do any task and be idle. Update on my missing Nanny – I restarted the game, I relocated the family to a new house and I made a new FB account. None of it mattered. I don’t know what to do now. I wish I could pay LP to skip the tasks that she’s in but you have to start the task first, which I can’t without her. 😦 (Also, in case anyone’s curious, when I came back to the dad finishing searching the fridge for soft food, the baby still had to play with food even though I had started them at the same time.)

When I heard about the nanny quest, I thought you would be able to call her on the phone to take care of your babies and toddlers while their parents are at work…should’ve known we’ll never have babysitters/nannies/daycare centres/kindergartens. My Sim won’t put the child in the highchair. It just refuses to go there, and a pictur of some footprints appear above his head. Any advice on how to deal with it? Does is matter where you place the highchair in your house?
Have you tried moving the highchair, footprints appear when they can’t access the item
I tried having the baby play with food right after I had the sim look for soft food in the fridge and starting the task early didn’t work…is there something else I’m supposed to do to make the tasks that can be started early work?
You need to select the baby and click on yourself (the baby) to get this option, you can start this one early because it is a normal task that you could do even without the quest
There is an update in the app store, so I download updates hope that the problem has been fixed. but after downloading the update nothing has changed,my sims still stop doing their activity when I’m log out of the game. please give me a solutions, what should I do?
