The Sims Freeplay: How do I have so many LPs?

I constantly get asked this question, “how do you have so many LPs? I don’t have any!”

The one word answer: Cooking!

The cooking hobby is the best way I have found of making a lot of LPs very quickly, some people seem confused about how this works so I will be explaining exactly what I do in this post.

Firstly you need to complete the Bread Winner Quest to unlock the cooking hobby

Then you need:

  1. Sims– as many as possible, you can have 1-10 in one house, obviously the more you have the quicker you are going to complete the collection
  2. Oven, Toaster and Counter for each sim– if you have 6 sims, you will need 6 ovens, 6 toasters and 6 counters (TIP: if you have a toaster on a corner counter and it cannot be accessed by any sim you only need one toaster in the house for all sims to use)
  3. Space– I use an empty house with all sims in one room, they are spaced out in their own workspaces with an oven and toaster on the counter, just so another sim doesn’t get in their way and cause them to cook a meal without getting a collectible- this can happen if they are squashed together. NOTE: you don’t need all your sims in one house, I just do because it is easier

image

Next you need to start cooking!

The one minute option, cheese and tomato on toast is the one you want to select

So click on the oven, click cooking and then on cheese and tomato on toast, it costs S5 each time but you get a lot more simoleons back when you find a new item.

image

Every time you make a dish a plate is left on the floor,  I clean each one up after each dish is made, otherwise the house will be full of dishes and it really slows down the game.

TIP: If you have no sinks in the house, they will take the plates to the trashcan. A quick way to get rid of the plates is that if you kick over the trashcan the plates will just disappear OR if you store all the doors and remove all sinks from the room then the plates should disappear!

20140911_162359Black circle under plates– if a black circle appears under your plate this means you have so many plates in one pile so when you clean up it will take you several goes at cleaning (as you have so many plates to clean up) before the black circle will gradually decrease and the plates will disappear.

TIP: to save time click clean up, then cancel the action when they bend down to pick it up, the dish will disappear and you save some time!
image

Once you have completed the whole collection you will get 5LPs (you need to complete this hobby once to unlock chopping boards before you start earning LPs when you complete it) with lots of sims you can complete this collection in under an hour!

Make sure you then click restart collection before another sim finishes making the dish

This video shows me completing the cooking hobby very quickly:

You also earn simoleons!

Each time you find a new collectible:

Spatula
Bronze= S25
Silver= S60
Gold= S150
Grater
Bronze= S25
Silver= S80
Gold= S250
Chefs Knife
Bronze= S50
Silver= S100
Gold= S275
Whisk
Bronze= S75
Silver= S200
Gold= S500
Rolling Pin
Bronze= S500
Silver= S500
Gold= S500
Measuring Spoon
Bronze= S500
Silver= S500
Gold= S500

And XPs!

Each row you complete you get an XP reward:
image

  • 1st- 750XPs
  • 2nd- 1000XPs
  • 3rd- 1500XPs
  • 4th- 2000XPs
  • 5th- 3000XPs
  • 6th- 5000XPs

And a reward for each time you level up:

Level 2 Hot Mess Maker= 250XPs
Level 3 Ready Meal Maestro= 500XPs
Level 4 Home Cooking Hero= S750
Level 5 Flavor Savior= 10,000 town value
Level 6 Hail to the Chef= 1LP

Once your sim gets to level 6 cooking it is a good idea to put them onto a different hobby for one go at that, I use the ghost hunters hobby as it is quite quick too, then I go back to cooking to start from level 1 again.
image

This means you will get more money, XPs, town value and an LP for levelling up to level 6 again.

Don’t worry- going back to level 1 doesn’t mean they will just find level 1 items as you have unlocked them all now!

Hope this helps!

The Sims Freeplay- Starting Goals Early

For some quests you really need to be good with time management but sometimes that still isn’t enough, if you want to complete a quest in time you can use the posts on this site to see what goal will be coming next. Another great way to be able to complete these quests on time is by starting certain goals earlier than required which I will be explaining in this post.

What goals can be started early?

Any goal that you can normally do can be started early because you will have access to it, for example:

  • Bake rocky road (any baking or gardening)
  • Watch a documentary

Any goal that you can’t normally do you will have to wait until you get the goal to be able to complete it, goals such as:

  • Post bridge schematics
  • Look up locksmith on computer
The tip with this method is to put the sim doing that action early in a different house that you cannot go to until you get that goal or it will not work

I will explain an example with the Raiders of the Lost Artifacts quest, so while on the previous quest (Mysterious Island) I had a quick look at my quest post to see if anything needed to be started during the previous quest. As you only have 2 days to complete this quest it is a good idea to get a head start (I completed this quest within a few minutes because of the early start)

Goals below in bold can be started early:
  1. Go to the mysterious island
  2. Tap on a monument
  3. Read big book of stuff- 19 hours
  4. Leftovers from a fridge- 18 seconds
  5. Search for artifacts in the garbage- 8 minutes 30 seconds
  6. Find the third artifact
  7. Upgrade the riches of terra to level 1

The first 2 goals cannot be done early but they don’t take any time at all.

Goal 3 takes 19 hours to do which is almost half of the time limit.

I started goal 3 while my mysterious bridge was building, but you could start it even earlier! It’s a good idea to do this in a house that no one lives in (or the person doing the goal lives in on their own) so other sims don’t get in your way. Once I finished the tap on the monument goal I then go to the house where the sim is reading the big book of stuff and they should be done by now so it will complete straight away!

Goal 4 can also be started early but it is very short so there isn’t really any point.

The last 3 tasks cannot be started early but they are relatively quick.

The Sims Freeplay- Deleting a Sim & Adopting

In this post I am going to cover both Deleting a Sim and Adoption as they are related, keep reading for more information.

Deleting a sim is really quick and easy, all you need to do is click on the sim you want to delete from the game (when they aren’t completing an action) and you will see a few options. On the right hand side of your sims name you will see their picture and a red circle with a cross through it, this is the delete button:

Click on this and it will ask you if you are sure you want to move this sim out of town (which means you will remove them from the game):

If a sim is working towards upgrading a life orb when you delete them they will leave behind the orb they started with, for example, if you give a sim a bronze life orb to turn into a silver but you delete them before they have a chance to upgrade the orb they will leave behind the bronze life orb. If they were working towards a bronze life orb they won’t leave behind any orb.

Watch my video on Deleting Sims here

Infants, toddlers and preteens can all be adopted if both their parents are deleted from the game. Once both parents have been deleted, the adult or senior sim you want to adopt them needs to be nice (or for an infant cuddle them) until they become good friends, then you will get the adopt option appear.

Once you click adopt the child will be moved to their new home and take the surname of the sim who adopted them so you won’t get the adopt option if there are already 4 sims living in the house you want to move them to.

The Sims Freeplay- Ultimate Makeover

In this post I will explain how the ultimate makeover on The Sims Freeplay works and whether I think it is worth using. When you click on your sim who is not doing anything you will see the purple ultimate makeover option:

The ultimate makeover allows you to change the DNA of your sim, the DNA is the name, gender and skin tone so it basically takes you back into the create a sim menu.

How much does it cost? It will cost you 12LP

Don’t have 12LP for the makeover? Check out my post here on making LP quickly

Once you select the option and click you are sure you want to spend 12LP on this it will take you back to the create a sim menu:

Can you cancel it once you enter the ultimate makeover? Yes, click the back button at the top and it will refund you your 12LP:

This might be quite useful if you accidentally gave your sim the wrong name to begin with but sims age so quickly once the Life Dreams and Legacies Quest is complete you could just recreate the sim again once they pass away but with the correct details this time and save yourself those 12LP!

This video shows how the ultimate makeover works:
