The Sims Freeplay- Ultimate Makeover

In this post I will explain how the ultimate makeover on The Sims Freeplay works and whether I think it is worth using. When you click on your sim who is not doing anything you will see the purple ultimate makeover option:

The ultimate makeover allows you to change the DNA of your sim, the DNA is the name, gender and skin tone so it basically takes you back into the create a sim menu.

How much does it cost? It will cost you 12LP

Don’t have 12LP for the makeover? Check out my post here on making LP quickly

Once you select the option and click you are sure you want to spend 12LP on this it will take you back to the create a sim menu:

Can you cancel it once you enter the ultimate makeover? Yes, click the back button at the top and it will refund you your 12LP:

This might be quite useful if you accidentally gave your sim the wrong name to begin with but sims age so quickly once the Life Dreams and Legacies Quest is complete you could just recreate the sim again once they pass away but with the correct details this time and save yourself those 12LP!

This video shows how the ultimate makeover works:

  1. Thanks so much for testing this out – I was very curious, but didn’t want to waste LPs. In the pre-aging game I would have welcomed this, but I agree about it being a bit of a waste now.

  2. Yes it’s not any different from when you first created a SIM. They should have at least thrown in some different body types, skin colors, hairstyles. Also the facial features of our Sims are very much alike couldn’t they have offer to change it up some?

I do like some of the new clothes in our wardrobes though.

  3. I also want to say thank you for testing this out. Even though my Sims don’t age and die, I was still skeptical about the ultimate makeover. I won’t be using LPs for this either!

  4. Before I spent 12LP on this I went to see your review thank goodness I had read your review!!! 🙂

  5. Thank you for this. I didn’t know what it did but it turns out I need it because I accidentally made sims move in together and now five sims have the same last name….

  6. It hadn’t worked for me since the update. It only changed the family members’ names not the selected character. This glitch could be useful if you want one member of the family to keep the old name. Waste of 12lp for me though 😦

  7. Legend! Thanks so much. 👏 And yeah boii, I love your blogs sooo much.😻🙊 Their creative and actually make sense and are with pictures! I cannot read a blog without them.🙌🌌 By the way, do you have IG? 📷 Thanks so much again – a great help. I’ll be changing my sims names to ’Pizza’. I HAVE SIMOLEONS TO BURN!! 😂👐 Can’t help it sista. 😝

  8. I was trying to do the makeover and it keeps taking my old first name and making it the surname. Does that always happen or is it a glitch? Figured you were the best to ask! Thanks!

  9. Ok so I need help….2 of my sims both had their own last names originally and when they got married I wanted the girl to get the guys last name but somehow when they got married they got the girl’s last name?? They had a kid and now it has her last name too, but I just found out about the ultimate makeover and spent 12 LPS to change his last name(but it only changed hers and the kids), then tried again on him just to make sure I did it right, then I did an ultimate makeover on her too and changed her to his last name again(because I did have him move into her house after marriage), but it still won’t give him back his original last name!! It just looks weird with the kid and wife having his last name but the husband having his wife’s maiden name haha any ideas how to fix it??

    • For future the sims last name you want is the house your sims need to get married at
I honestly have no idea how to fix this sorry, I am slightly confused to how ultimate makeover won’t change his last name but it isn’t anything to worry about, it might be annoying but you may just have to put up with it, sorry!

  10. Do you know if this changes marital status? I have a married couple that I’d like to change the wife’s name (it was just a randomized one) but I want them to stay married. Thanks for everything!

  11. can i change a preteen’s last name by doing a ultimate makeover?
