The Sims Freeplay- SuperYacht Events

Early Access to Beta Provided by EA/ Firemonkeys (Presented by EA Creator Network) may differ from actual version

SuperYacht 2 available from 29th July 2023

Collect resources to build a Super Yacht in the SuperYacht Events! These events are very similar to a Downtown Developer Event, we are just earning different resources to build a yacht rather than an apartment. You can only complete one SuperYacht Event at a time and you won’t be able to complete this while completing a Downtown Developer Event but there is no rush, these events will be available whenever you are ready to start

The aim of these events is to collect all the Wood, Fiberglass and Metal you need at different locations around Simtown, these resources are then used to build the Super Yacht. You will find the Super Yacht 1 location between the bridge and the private island in Simtown and the Super Yacht 2 location on the mysterious island on the left of the bridge (from 29th July):

If you have completed a Downtown Developer Event you can skip the tutorial

Click on either location to get the option to build berth:

SuperYacht 1- The Bella:

SuperYacht 2- The Fantasea:

You can now get the option to pay real money to build the Super Yachts instantly and get Satsuki to help you find more resources:

Once built the event will begin and the first time limit will start, there are many time limits in this event as there are different time limits for each stage, keep reading for more information on this

You will then get tutorial tasks to complete (unless you skip) these will explain how these events work so make sure you read them:

Most of the screenshots below are from the SuperYacht 1 Event but both SuperYacht events work the same

  • Open superyachts menu- click on the orange symbol next to the superyachts task to get to this menu, the menu is where you can see your progress in this event:

At the top you will see all the stages to complete in this event, then you will see the permit you currently have and below you can see the current stage requirements, right now only wood is required to complete stage 1:

  • View major stage deadlines- if you go back to the menu, on the bar at the top you will see under stage 2 it says ‘3 days’ this means you have 3 days to fill the bar by collecting the resources to reach stage 2 to be on track in this event, if you don’t complete a stage in the time limit you will be forced to spend simoleons to progress in this event (I don’t know how many simoleons it will cost as it varies depending on what level you are on, so if you are on level 55 expect a high cost!)

The time limits for each stage are:

  • Reach stage 2– 3 days
  • Reach stage 4– 6 days
  • Reach stage 6– 6 days
  • Reach stage 9 (final stage)– 15 days

These stages above are major upgrades so the berth will change when you reach these milestones, you will also receive other rewards when you reach each of these stages.

SuperYacht 1 Stages & Rewards:

  • Stage 2– S2,000, 4SP and 1 Fiberglass (which can then be used in the next stage)
  • Stage 4– S5,000, 6SP and 1 Metal (which can then be used in the next stage)
  • Stage 6– S10,000, 10SP and 1 Metal (which can then be used in the next stage)
  • Stage 9/Grand Prize– Empty Super Yacht and S50,000

You also unlock:

  • Stage 4- Brass (S92,000) and Gold (9SP) Potted Monstera (trees, plants and flowers section)
  • Stage 6- Gold (6LP) and Silver (7SP) Halo Lights (lighting section)
  • Stage 9/Grand Prize- Ability to place items such as roof lights under balconies!

SuperYacht 2 Stages & Rewards:

  • Stage 2– S2,000, 4SP and 1 Fiberglass (which can then be used in the next stage)
  • Stage 4– S5,000, 6SP and 1 Metal (which can then be used in the next stage)
  • Stage 6– S10,000, 10SP and 1 Metal (which can then be used in the next stage)
  • Stage 9/Grand Prize– Empty Super Yacht and S50,000

You also unlock:

  • Stage 4- Green (S123,100) and White (10LP) Luxe Sofas (living room section)
  • Stage 6- Green (S100,900) and White (9SP) Luxe Doubles and Green (S111,600) and White (15LP) Luxe Corners (living room section)

  • Go to the resource location- every 24 hours you will receive a new permit to collect a resource at a different location, go back to the menu to find where you need to go and you can click ‘visit’ on the location to go straight there:

The location will be different for you and it will only be places you have already unlocked so if you haven’t built the community center yet you won’t get a permit to go there

  • Assign a sim to an x- once at the location you need to find the 3 x spots (this differs from a DD event as they only have 2 spots) have a sim click on one of these and select Collect Shard- 4 hours (3hrs 48m inspired sim)

Only three sims can collect shards at one time and a shard does not make a full piece, depending on the resource you need to collect different amounts of shards to make one resource:

  • Wood– collect 3 shards to make 1 wood
  • Fiberglass– collect 4 shards to make 1 fiberglass
  • Metal– collect 5 shards to make 1 metal

You need to collect a full piece within 24 hours to be able to use that towards your next permit, if you only collect one shard then you will lose this

Unlike Downtown Developer Events the time taken to collect each resource is different:

  • Wood– 4 hours (inspired sims: 3 hours 48 minutes)
  • Fiberglass– 3 hours (inspired sims: 2 hours 51 minutes)
  • Metal– 2 hours 30 minutes (inspired sims: 2 hours 23 minutes)

You can also buy new permits early for SP

TIP: it seems to be cheaper if you buy from the pop up rather than the superyachts menu:

  • Review resource progress- click on the menu to check your progress, the current requirements show you how many resources you need to complete that stage:

If you want to skip with SP this is the best place to do it as it is more expensive if you skip from the task action itself or the permit section of the menu (unlike with DD events you can skip all to collect all resources for that stage):

How many SP do I need to collect each resource instantly?

  • 1 Wood = 22 Social Points
  • 1 Fiberglass = 54 Social Points
  • 1 Metal = 161 Social Points

The amounts above are roughly correct, it will be one or two SP out as you increase the amount of resources but it gives you some idea of how many you would need

  • Review the major stage timer- here you can see the next stage is locked:

If you miss one stage you can still catch up at the next stage as the time limit for the next stage does not start until you have completed the previous, for example, if you miss out on completing the 4th stage in the 6 day time limit once you have paid your simoleons to move on you will still get the full 6 day time limit to reach the 6th stage

SuperYacht 1: If you complete the final stage in the 15 day time limit you will unlock the Bella Superyacht, you still unlock the super yacht lot if you don’t complete this event in the time limit, once complete you will be able to build the empty Bella Superyacht:

The super yacht works like a normal house, sims can live here

The empty Bella:

The Bella SuperYacht:

The yacht has 3 floors, the ground floor includes a pool, spa, gym, 5 bedrooms and 5 en suites:

The middle floor includes the living room, toilet, kitchen and dining room and the top floor is a relaxing deck:

If you complete the event in the time limit you also unlock:

White (S220,000) and Black (22LP) Luxury Hot Tubs

White (S211,900) and Black (22SP) Spiral Staircase

I’m a little disappointed with the interior of this yacht, it doesn’t feel as luxurious as I was hoping but I really love the yacht template itself and our sims can even swim in the ocean:

Take a tour of the Bella SuperYacht here:

Can I improve the Bella SuperYacht? Check out my redesign here

SuperYacht 2 available from 29th July 2023

SuperYacht 2: If you complete the final stage in the 15 day time limit you will unlock the Fantasea Superyacht, you still unlock the super yacht lot if you don’t complete this event in the time limit, once complete you will be able to build the empty Fantasea Superyacht:

The Empty Fantasea:

The Fantasea SuperYacht:

The yacht has 3 floors, the ground floor includes a kitchen, dining area, living space and gym:

The middle floor has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and the top floor has a helicopter and landing pad:

If you complete the event in the time limit you also unlock:

Decorations: Gold (S59,500) and Gray (6LP) Stylish Terrariums

Outdoor Furniture: Black (S118,400) and Red (14SP) Luxe Bars

Outdoor Decorations: White (S919,100) and Black (118SP) Retreat Helicopters

Take a tour of the Fantasea SuperYacht here:

Watch my walkthrough of the SuperYacht event here:

Remember:

  • You cannot complete these events at the same time as a downtown developer event
  • You can only complete one SuperYacht event at a time
  • These events are available forever so there is no rush to begin them but once you do start the first timer will begin, then it should take 30 days to complete
  • A new permit is issued every 24 hours, if you earn enough resources before the 24 hours is over you can spend social points to get a new permit early
  • The location will be different for you and it will only be places you have already unlocked so you don’t have to build any new locations to find the resources
  • Only three sims can collect shards at once
  • A shard is not a whole resource, if you don’t collect a whole resource in 24 hours you will lose the shards you have collected:
      • 3 Wood Shards= 1 Wood
      • 4 Fiberglass Shards= 1 Fiberglass
      • 5 Metal Shards= 1 Metal
  • The next major timer doesn’t start until the previous major milestone is complete
  • There are 9 stages to complete, completing each stage earns you rewards:
      • Stage 1- 2SP
      • Stage 2- Major upgrade, 2LP, 4SP and 1 Fiberglass (which can then be used in the next stage)
      • Stage 3- 5SP
      • Stage 4- Major upgrade, S5,000, 6SP and 1 Metal (which can then be used in the next stage)
      • Stage 5- 8SP
      • Stage 6- Major upgrade, S10,000, 10SP and 1 Metal (which can then be used in the next stage)
      • Stage 7- S20,000
      • Stage 8- 15SP
      • Stage 9/Final Stage- Empty SuperYacht Lot and S50,000
    • How many resources do I need for each stage?
  •  Below I have listed how many resources you will need for each stage, some stages carry over resources from previous stages and some resources are rewards for reaching certain stages so I have only included how many you will need to make for that stage but I have included the total above those stages, for example stage 1 and 2 requires 6 Wood in total, you make 1 in stage 1 and the other 5 in stage 2:
    • Stages 1 & 2- 6 Wood in total
      • Stage 1- 1 Wood
      • Stage 2- 5 Wood
    • Stages 3 & 4- 12 Wood and 8 Fiberglass
      • Stage 3- 7 Wood and 3 Fiberglass
      • Stage 4- 5 Wood and 4 Fiberglass
    • Stages 5 & 6- 8 Wood, 7 Fiberglass and 6 Metal
      • Stage 5- 3 Wood, 3 Fiberglass and 2 Metal
      • Stage 6- 5 Wood, 4 Fiberglass and 3 Metal
    • Stages 7, 8 & 9- 25 Wood, 20 Fiberglass and 15 Metal
      • Stage 7- 8 Wood, 8 Fiberglass and 6 Metal
      • Stage 8- 9 Wood, 7 Fiberglass and 5 Metal
      • Stage 9/ Final Stage- 8 Wood, 5 Fiberglass and 3 Metal
  • Want to see my walkthrough of this event? Watch my SuperYacht 1 video here

What do I think of this event? It definitely feels like they have learnt from a few mistakes with Downtown Developer Events, for example, changing the timing depending on what resource we are collecting and allowing us to buy permits early but I still am not a fan of this type of event. It is a lot of effort however the super yacht prize is more exciting than an apartment!

The Sims Freeplay- Celebrity Pet Live Event

The Celebrity Pet Live Event is back from 4th January to unlock items for small dogs and puppies and if you complete the whole event in the 10 day time limit you unlock a pug!

Check out my Guide to Completing Live Events (including tips!) HERE!

This event is only here for 10 days and the aim of it is to collect enough arts and crafts items from the arts and crafts stations (found in the event tab of buy mode) to unlock all the items in this event

NOTE: if you did another Live Event then you will find your arts and crafts stations in your inventory (or in the house you left them at) you will only be able to use the candle ones until you unlock the other stations in this event

Can’t find your arts and crafts stations? Click on the craft station in your event tab to get the option to find your station, it will take you to the house where your stations can be found!

Want to skip the tasks list? Click here to head straight to the prizes!

  • Place a crafting station (find the candle station in the events tab of buy mode (or your inventory)- you can only buy 4)

  • Make some arts and crafts items (click on the candle station to make)- 23 seconds

This takes you to the prize progress tab (you can get to it by clicking on the pug event button in the corner of the screen)

Here you will see you have collected enough items to unlock the fetching frisbee! When you unlock each pack, before the items are available in your home store you need to purchase them with the arts and crafts items you make- this goal is coming up!

  • Restock a crafting station (when the stock runs out you will have to restock before you can make anymore arts and crafts items)- You can restock instantly for 18 uses for 10SPs or restock for 2 uses which will take 10 seconds this time

  • Buy the fetching frisbee (click on the pug event button, scroll down and click purchase- this will cost you 50 candles)
  • Use a coin flower patch (buy the coin flower patch from the event tab and select the spin plant option)

  • Check the daily goals (click on the scissor event button and find the daily goals tab- claim the ones you can!)

Remember to claim your rewards each day!

  • Collect bonuses (while collecting after a certain amount of time you will see the arts and crafts item appear above that sims head, click to collect the bonus item!)

  • Continue collecting arts and crafts items- this is the last step but the event is not over, keep collecting the arts and crafts to unlock everything!

If you want to speed up a collecting arts and crafts action it will cost you SP, you will get the bonus arts and craft items as well if you speed it up!

Constructor Coins

You earn constructor coins by:

Personal Progress prizes

Completing Daily Goals

Coin Plant Patches

Earning Constructor Coins? Previously on these events I used social points on the Mega Spin Plant to win constructor points. I earn social points by completing the cooking hobby and earning LP, I can then turn the LP into SP using the social point plant on a normal garden patch- this was when it cost 5LP- the social point plant now costs 20LP so you may want to try the option below first instead:

Or you can use 450 candles for the Spin Plant (a good way to use up any spare candles) which will also earn you constructor coins but the amounts are less than they are from the Mega Spin Plant

What is the minimum and maximum amount of coins you can earn on the mega spin plant? The minimum is 10 and the maximum is 500

Now on the coin flower patch you can see the chances of getting the different combinations on each spin plant, click on the green i button to see:

Laura Craft? You may have noticed at the front of one of your houses there is a board with a bubble of a person holding arts and crafts items above it, this is Laura Craft, you can buy her for real money to help you complete the event. When you buy her, you select the item you want her to make from the options: 200 candles,  300 pottery, 450 jewelry or 500 glassware (the amounts seem to differ for most of you and I have no idea why that is!) (you will unlock all the options once you have unlocked all the stations) and you will be able to collect them after 2 hours.

Do I think she is worth it? They have improved Laura Craft a lot since the first event (although it would be great if she made constructor coins) she used to be able to collect every 8 hours, they have now changed this to 2 hours so she is more useful now so if you are struggling then you may want to splash out and give her a try but remember you will only get her for this event, you will have to buy her again to use her for a live event in the future. I personally don’t ever buy her, if I don’t manage to earn enough items or coins in the time limit I just wait until the next time the event is available!

If I brought Laura Craft in the last event do I get her for free or do I have to buy her again? You have to buy her again for this event.

Check out my Guide to Completing Live Events (including tips!) HERE!

Once the event is over it will convert your unused resources into simoleons, the conversion rate is half the amount of resources, for example, if you have 10,000 candles left over you will earn 5,000 simoleons, if you only have 1 of a resource left over you will only earn 1 simoleon. When a new live event becomes available you start from 0 resources

If I don’t complete this event this time will I have to start from the beginning when it returns? No, you will start from where you got to this time!

The Sims Mobile- Adding Balconies

Presented by EA Creator Network

From the Merrier Together December 2022 update we will be able to add balconies on The Sims Mobile! This post explains how to add balconies.

  • Under the Build tab of the home store you will find the Balconies tab:

  • There are different types of balconies to choose from, some also have roofs:

  • Balconies work similar to rooms so once you choose a balcony you can resize it:

Watch my balcony walkthrough video here

You can even place balconies on the ground floor or floating in mid air without supports!

  • Once you are happy with the size you can decide how many sides will have railings or walls using the wall toggle button:

You can toggle between walls, railings or no railings/walls

  • You can choose to apply this to the whole balcony or just one wall. Click on the side you want to change or if all sides is on it will change all sides of the balcony:

  • Next, in the Build tab next to Balconies you can find the Barrier Styles tab, use this to change how the railings look on your balcony:

The Criss-Crossed Wooden Fence and Gilded Metal Railing unlock by completing Bella’s Balcony Quest

Again you can choose to apply railings to the whole balcony or just one wall so you can have different barrier styles on all sides!

  • Lastly you can change the wall design. As balconies are like walls you change the wall design using the Interior Walls tab:

  • If you want to change the outside of the balcony wall you use the Exterior Walls tab:

You can add support columns under your balcony but these aren’t needed

TIP: if you want to place a room next to a balcony the wall touching the room needs to be a full wall, if it is railings you won’t be able to place the room:
