Once you complete the mysterious island quest this quest will begin, this quest will show you how to complete monuments on the island. If you complete this in the 2 day time limit you will receive a treasure chest full of Artifacts, LP, XP and more! You can still complete this quest once the time limit is up but you won’t get the treasure chest prize

Times may vary depending on the star rating the item has.
- Go to the mysterious island (click on the bridge)
- Tap on a monument (symbols are rock, water, air and fire)
- Read big book of stuff- 21 hours 30 minutes (can be started goal early)
- Leftovers from a fridge- 18 seconds
- Search for artifacts in the garbage- 8 minutes 30 seconds (you need to kick over the garbage first to get this option)
- Find the third artifact (you get them at random by baking, gardening and using objects, you can see if you get one because a material will appear above your sims head) TIP: just plant peppers until you find it! or have a shower- you just need to do something quick!
- Upgrade the riches of terra to level 1 (first monument-rock, click on it and click upgrade now)
QUEST IS COMPLETE!

I have missed this quest! Why can’t I start it yet?
You cannot miss main quests they have to be completed in order. You need to complete all previous quests (list can be found here) including the mysterious island quest and reach level 10 before you can start this quest
Can I complete this quest even though I have passed level 10?
Yes, you just need to complete all previous quests then this quest will start automatically
How do I visit the island?
Click on the mysterious island bridge, this will take you to the island
What do you mean when you say a goal can be started early?
Any goal that you can normally do can be started early because you will have access to it and any goal that you can’t normally do you will have to wait until you get the goal to be able to complete it
The tip with this method is to put the sim doing that action early in a different house that you cannot go to until you get that goal or it will not work
Why do blue footprints appear when I try to use an item?
Blue footprints appear when your sim cannot access an item you want them to use, you need to either rotate the item or move an item that has been placed in front of it so they can use it
I cannot find the third artifact, where do you find them?
You get them randomly by baking, gardening and using objects, I cannot tell you where to find them as any action can give you one. Try planting peppers or any other action that takes seconds to try and get it quickly
How long does it take to upgrade the riches of terra?
Go to the island and click on it and select upgrade and it will complete straightaway
What do I get if I complete this quest in the time limit?
A treasure chest
What happens if I don’t complete in the time limit, can I still finish this quest?
Yes you have to finish it before you can move onto the next quest

No, you cannot redo quests

Once you reach level 10 your game needs to download additional content, this link explains what it is but it doesn’t say how to do it, I’m guessing your game should do it automatically. If you still can’t progress you may need to contact the makers to see if they can fix this for you

Hey I was wondering what special thing do you get if you finish this quest and what happens if you don’t finish it in time
It says in the first line of the post what you get
If you don’t finish in time you just don’t get the prize, you can still complete the quest once the time is up.
The time it takes to read the big book of stuff depends how many stars your bookcase has. At first I tried with a bookcase with only 1 star rating and it needs to take one day, so you won’t be able to get the treasure chest because in the quest time limit is 1 day. But I bought a bookcase with 3 stars and it only takes 16 hours.
Yes I know, this is based on a two star bookcase because you still have plenty of time to do the other actions and it isn’t that expensive.
I see! Just wanted to put that out there for other readers coz I couldn’t find out why the quest seemed impossible haha.

Do you happen to know how to complete the Weekly task Slap A Sim? I slapped a nemesis Sim in a neighbors neighborhood but it doesn’t work. I don’t want to make my own Sims nemesis of each other
Thanks 🙂 You need to do it in your own town, just make them both a nemesis- it doesn’t matter! You can always make them friends afterwards
I have finished this quest in ‘record time” according to the quest finished statement, my question is where to you find the treasure chest?
Go to the island and you will find it in the water, it will have a treasure chest picture above it

Ok so how do I find the third artifact
You find them randomly by baking, gardening or doing an action- just grow peppers until you find one, it won’t take too long
How long does it take to get the third artifact?
If you just plant peppers for 30 seconds you will find it quite quickly but it’s random so I couldn’t give you an exact time
I know you’ve probably started the next quest, the toddler one, and I was wondering if you can give me any tips on task/tasks that I can start early. I wish I would’ve started reading “the big book of stuff” early for this quest, but for some reason , even though i looked over this a couple times, i didn’t see that it was 20 hours, so I have to get up at midnight and finish THIS quest in the middle of the night PLUS start the toddler quest in order to get it done in time! 😛

It is random, it could take one go or it could take a hundred, I just said peppers because you won’t be too disappointed after waiting 30 seconds and not getting an artifact but you would be quite annoyed after waiting an hour and not getting one.
You can get it from any action, maybe try using the globe, a lot of people said that works

No, you need to do this quest first, then at level 11 or when you complete this you can do the toddler quest, it will appear when it’s avaliable
I finished the Raiders of the Lost Artifacts Quest in plenty of time, and clicked on the Treasure Chest for my reward, but now I can’t find it in my inventory, and I have no idea how to access it – can anyone help? Thank you so much!
It’s not in your inventory, the chest is on the island in the sea
Yes, I got the chest from the island, but it’s supposed to give me XP’s and LP’s and Artifacts? Did it give me those? Does that only happen once and then the chest is gone?
Yep, the XPs and LPs get added to the bar at the top of the screen as soon as you open it and the artifacts can be seen when you click on the monuments on the island, and yes it only happens once then the chest disappears
I really need someone to answer this question: If I do a task early like for example I just started the quest and immediately read the bigbook of stuff but I’m not on that task yet will it be checked/done when the task comes up??
And also I have this weekly quest that says build a dating relationship and I already done that to like 2 pairs of sims and it’s still not finished, why? Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong
does it say they are dating or is their relationship higher? try with another 2 sims, if it still doesn’t work then its probably a glitch
no, you need to make sure you don’t go near the house where the person is reading the big book until you receive that quest or it won’t complete it

Can you add anymore sims? If you can add 2 sims you can get them both to a dating relationship 🙂 if not you may have to wait until you level up to unlock more sims.

Why does everything take so long!😩😱
This quest shouldn’t take too long, what are you having trouble with?
I’m on the mysterious island quest waiting for my bridge to get finished. Checking the list formthis quest I see that starting on read a book of stuff in advance can be a good idea. I already have one of my sims reading that book in a neighbours town as a social task. She will finish reading before the brigde. Is it possible to wait with getting the xp’s from this sim until I come to the task in the raiders of the lost artifacts quest and then have it count for both tasks?
You probably won’t complete the task using the one in a neighbours town, you usually have to do these goals in your own town
How long does it take to “build ruins” after you find the artifacts?
It should do it straight away
1 pick. 2 gold bricks. 1 rock. 5 LP. 17,500 simoleans. 5,000 XP. Is what the chest gave me.

You can start the task early but do it in a different house and don’t go to that house before you get the read the big book of stuff goal or it won’t count

You can’t make an alien, the alien appears when you do certain quests 🙂
You need to complete the quest for toddlers to unlock the pet shop, the clothing store and music studio can be unlocked when you have enough sims and money, click on the images to see how many sims you need

I’m really sorry but I don’t quite understand your question, could you try and explain it again in a different way?
In the finding the third artifact, will it be quicker if, say, I let 4 sims plant peppers at the same time? I have 4 plots on one of my houses and I’m thinking of getting a lot of peppers from the supermarket since it’s free there and just do a pepper planting event lol..

Hello! I’ve been stuck on this quest for three days now looking for the third artifact. I have 9 sims and have had them plant peppers almost religiously during my freetime and other, longer plants when I’ve gone to bed with no luck. Do you have any suggestions? I have no clue what to do? Also, I still haven’t gotten the quest for toddlers yet and I’m on level 13.
Really? You haven’t found it yet? It should be found super quick with the peppers
but you can do any action to find it, its random so I can’t tell you how and when it will appear

Watch the news, drink herbal tea and bake croissants, any of the tasks you can usually do can be done early 🙂

Hi again! So I have finished this quest and I’ve started on the horse one. But I notice I still find artifacts occasionally from gardening. I do realize this is to upgrade the earth thing on the island. However, sometimes as I’m clicking on the veggies, instead of the little axe, gold, or rock, this other symbol appears. It looks like the little earth symbol from the island. What does it do? I can’t find anything like it in my inventory. And my quantity of axes, gold, and rocks has not increased. Can you shed some light on this for me please? I’ve tried googling the symbols for this game and can’t find anything.
there are four different island momnuments so it is probably an artifact for one of the other ones 🙂
I am on level 11, and I have upgraded the first monument to level 1 after finding the first 3 items, and I received that statue as a reward which should’ve also given me the treasure chest right? But the timer is still going and the quest is still telling to look for the third item even though I already found it and used it. It’s pretty frustrating, could this be a bug in the game?
You get the statue on the mysterious island quest and the treasure chest on the raiders quest, are you sure you have done all of the raiders quest and didn’t just finish the mysterious island one and start finding items for the monument before you got the goal to?
Not sure if I can word this understandably(?). I am waiting for the Mysterious Island Bridge to finish (9 hrs to go); & I had started the Read book of big stuff for the next quest. Sim is done reading so I am not touching her house yet. (Thanks for advice) Does the ‘upgrade the riches of terra’ part take any “build” time? I ask because I want to start early on the next quest Need for Stead, & i need to get the car dealership built & need to wait until Bridge is done. It will probably take more than 24 hrs, since my Bridge was scheduled for 1 day. (I am on level 12 & have 4 quests in my queue; I think I’ve been leveling too quickly, having Sims fulfill their ‘needs’ too often?). So, if there is any ‘build’ stuff in Raiders quest, I don’t want it to be held up waiting for my Car Dealership to finish.

Nope, no building is needed, you can get the raiders quest done in a few hours if you have already finished the reading task! But yes it’s a good idea to get the dealership built ASAP to complete the need for steed in time!

Thank you for the info & quick response. ☺️ I just re-read your posting & realized that you said a mansion or one bedroom house comes with a car. I could do one of those, they take way less time than the dealership. Although they do cost more. I just need to make sure I choose the correct house. (Kicking myself that I haven’t bought one of those, yet. I’ve been a cheap sake & buying the cheap houses…😦) The small pictures in the game don’t show much (as we all know). I see one listed as “mansion,” is this the “one story mansion” who mention in article? Thank you again 😄

Hey I just wanted to ask how to you get the third artifact . It’s driving me crazy because I’m running out of time!! Please help me .
Just do any task, I can’t tell you how to find it, it is random- I found one by growing peppers or by having a shower- just do loads of different short tasks and you will soon get it!
I’m now doubly confused – I posted a question but now I don’t see it in the comments, so perhaps it disappeared into the nether-regions of cyberspace by accident. Maybe I’m being really dumb here, but I can’t figure out how to build any of the other monuments. Do I need to complete additional quests, upgrade Riches of Terra to a certain level, or is this some kind of bug? The only requirement to construct any of them is game level, and I’m above any of the levels listed. Riches of Terra is the only one I’ve been able to build even though I’m at level 41. Thanks to anyone who can help!

There are no other quests to unlock the others- The flames of wisdom unlocks at level 16, the tempest of bliss unlocks at level 24 and the springs of fortune unlocks at level 33.
If you haven’t got them by now then there must be a glitch! This is a technical issue so you should contact EA so they can look into the problem and see if they can fix it.
Thank you so much! I thought I was losing my mind. I wonder if I screwed them up by taking a break for a couple years and coming back at such a high level after so many updates. I will contact them and hope for the best. Is their customer support for a free mobile app pretty good?
Well I talk to one of their people via Facebook and he is very helpful so if you have Facebook I would write on the sims freeplay page, I’m not sure how helpful they are through other methods though or how quick they will get back to you but if they don’t reply within a few days message them again 🙂 I hope they can help!
I’m having the same problem! I finished the Riches of Terra quest on time and have been leveling up on the first monument (I think I’m on level 6 or 7), but even though I’m on level 33 I can’t start work on any of the other monuments! I often get flames for doing things, and I’m hoping that they are being “banked” for when The other monuments start building. I wrote a detailed support request to Firemonkeys last week, but so far I have only received a form letter letting me know they got it. It’s so frustrating! At least I was able to start work on the SimTown (Hollywood) sign. I wonder if it is because I was already well into the 20’s levels when I started the Mystery Island quests? Do you remember what level you were at when you started with the monuments? I had quit playing for 8 or 9 months, after a lot of intense play that leveled me up before many of the updates. For people who level up to the required level for a monument, does it automatically start building or do you have to go to it and click something? When I click the other monuments, I just get a dialog that says the requirement is Level X (whichever level for that monument) and the box is checked (meaning I have fulfilled the requirement), but there is no where to click to start building. I’d love to see a screenshot of how it looks when it’s working….. Thank you so much for this blog! You have done a great job and a real service to the community! 🙂

I’m having the exact same issue. I competed the Riches of Terra quest around the time the update came out. It never opened up another monument to build. I stopped paying for almost a year. Now I’m back, and the monuments still aren’t open. I will try to contact EA and get them to fix this bug. It’s nice having confirmation from someone else that I didn’t miss anything – it’s the game that’s messing up.

Gold bars are a rare item so take longer to get, there isn’t a lot you can do to speed this up apart from spending LPs

I can’t tell you how to get gold, you get it at random, gold is the hardest one to find as its rare

This is because they have recently changed when items are unlocked so unfortunately there are now only one star bookcases avaliable to do this task so you have to start this task early to get it done in the time limit, thanks for reminding me to update the post!

The only way to complete the Big Book of Stuff task is if it is finished once the quest has started. I finished the Big Book of Stuff yesterday, started the quest today and it is making me read it again.
No that is incorrect, you can start it early but you must stay away from the house that the task is being done in until you get the goal or it will not count.
