Completing this quest unlocks the snow park and the ability to change the weather in your sims town! If you complete in the time limit you will unlock snow outfits for all your sims. You can still complete this quest to unlock the snow park and weather machine once the time is up but you won’t get the snow outfits

- Search for UFOs in the park- 1 minute 30 seconds (using the telescope)
- Be nice to an alien- 1 minute
- Become friends with an alien (to bring him to your house, use the simtracker and click the whistle)
- Go to park
- End is nigh on soapbox- 9 hours 30 minutes (in park) (can be started early)
- Become best friends with an alien
- Browse internet- 4 minutes
- Be nice to Osiris (the alien)- 1 minute
- Spend 16,000 on electronics
YOU NEED TO BUY FROM THE ELECTRONICS SECTION OF THE HOME STORE TO COMPLETE THIS GOAL
- Negotiate with a sim eating plant- 3 minutes
Grow lettuce until it turns into a sim eating plant, this part can be done early, click on the sim eating plant to negotiate with it.
- Read fine literature- 12 hours (can be started early)
- Be rude to Osiris- 10 seconds
- Woohoo- 5 minutes
- Deep sleep- 6 hours 30 minutes (can be started early)
- Be funny to Osiris- 10 seconds
- Play electronica on stereo- 2 minutes 42 seconds
QUEST IS COMPLETE!
You can now build the Snow Park and begin the Figure Skating Hobby you also unlock the weather machine, keep reading for how to use it!
NOTE: the Snow Park is needed for the Seniors quest so build it before then
Using the Weather Machine- firstly the weather machine can be found in the electronics section for S70,000, you can have one per household
Once placed at a house you can:
- Make it day all the time, or night all the time regardless of the time of day
- You can make the weather random
- You can make it rain (so you can use umbrellas!) (your sims can also get struck by lightning which makes them inspired!)
- You can make it snow (so you can freeze pools and complete the ice skating hobby on them)
To get the weather back to normal you can resume day/night cycle or select blue skies
Time Limited Prize: Snow outfits
Is the prize worth it? Yes I think so, the snow outfits are free and they include snowboard suits and other items like woolly hats and earmuffs! Perfect to wear at the snow park!
Where can I find them? Outfits, hats and earmuffs (hair section) are in the wardrobe.

What do you mean when you say a goal can be started early?
Any goal that you can normally do can be started early because you will have access to it and any goal that you can’t normally do you will have to wait until you get the goal to be able to complete it
The tip with this method is to put the sim doing that action early in a different house that you cannot go to until you get that goal or it will not work

Very sad that after i spent 16,000 on electronics my next step was to hibernate in bed. I know that this quest was posted a bit ago but I wish I had an idea but I started the quest. I followed the walk through and had everything started early that I could.
sorry but complain to EA for constantly changing the quests not to me because they change something in most quest with every update, like you I just play the game, I don’t know when they change something and I can’t reset my game every update to update every post.

Starting tasks early only works if you stay away from that house where the task is taking place until you get the goal or you will unfortunately have to restart it

Has anyone had the problem with becoming Best Friends with the alien? I’ve got two sims who are now, but it appears to be stuck!
I’ve not heard of anyone having this problem before, one sim should just be able to be nice to the alien until they become best friends so I don’t know why its not working, you may want to contact EA if this continues
Can you let me know when the alien will go away. He is becoming annoying. 😩

I’ve spent over 16,000 and it wont finish. Does it all have to be at the same time? The only reason I can think of is that I spent like 10,000 then made all my sims go to work and then I spent like 10,000 more. If so that’s very stupid

I bout 1600 electronics twice and it wouldn’t move forward
You need to buy 16,000 not 1,600 just from the electronics section e.g computers, tvs and phones

What if I didn’t completed the quest, is there a shop or anything where I can buy the snow outfits?
No, you have to complete in the time limit to get the outfits.
Mine was the first version it said it was 7 days but then i was still on the 1st or 2nd day playing the quest then it suddenly changed and became 2 days which gives me lesser time to complete it. I thinkmit suddenly updated it to the new version which is the 2 day time limit. But thanks for your posts it helps me alot

Hi, I love you’re blog! I’m on level 27 right now, and I never got the weather machine quest. When I click the snow park, it is used to say I have to unlock it by completing the weather machine quest. Now I can unlock it, and I haven’t completed the quest. I checked the electronics section of the home store, and the weather machine wasn’t there. Did they stop doing this quest?
You need to complete previous main quests before you can do this one as they have to be completed in order.
These are so helpful. I could have finished this one in under an hour because you can start all the long ones early but I’m leaving the last one for a bit because I need to save up some more for the community center. Which I also know thanks to these guides.

Hello beautiful! you can now use a baby for having a deep sleep in this mission with the 4 hour option instead of adults for 6hr 30 min option you can save for up to 1 and a half hour! 😉

I apologize if this is a stupid question or already been answered somewhere, but how will I know when I’ve spent 16,000 on electronics when it doesn’t seem to be adding it up? I’ve just been buying a few items here and there since I didn’t finish the quest in time anyway, but I have no way of knowing how much I’ve already spent or how much more I have to buy to get to 16,000. Do you know if the game is keeping track of the total or if I have to spend a total of 16,000 all at once? Btw, thanks for all you do, you’re a tremendous help to everyone!
It doesn’t tell you how much you have left, but it will complete the goal when you have spend enough. Remember you can only buy items from the electronics tab to complete this goal, other items will not count towards this.

I had my toddler deep sleep in a bed early and then I left her alone. When I went back to her house when it was time to complete the deep sleep task it didn’t complete. Doe it only work if you do in an adult bed?
You probably needed to use an adult to complete this task.
Every time I enter the game it keeps saying cannot connect to server but I have wifi I am scared to delete it and I have signed in on Game Center do you have any suggestions? By the way love the blog!
Have you tried restarting your device? If that doesn’t work you may need to contact EA to see if they can fix this issue for you, sorry about that!

This may already have been answered, but is there any significance at all to the different weather patterns in terms of planting? Only I’ve noticed that I seem to have better luck getting the monument bonus for additional simoleons a lot more when I have the thunder storm, for example, and less chances for it if I have it snowing on my house lot. Has anyone else noticed this? Also, whenever Sims are working in a storm and get hit by lightning, it charges their stats, or inspires them. I thought that was pretty cool and now I almost always use the storm pattern whenever my Sims are working outside. 🙂
I’ve never noticed any difference in gardening when the weather machine is in use, has anyone else?
So I’m working on my next task, my sim just chillin’ on a bench outside, and the weather machine is on “storm,” when I looked down and there’s this message:
“Wow! Your Sim was struck by lightning! The zap has left them feeling charged!”
Huh. Well, I guess that’s one to get a free cupcake. It was completely random by the way, and my sim was idle, meaning he wasn’t assigned to any task at the moment, and he wasn’t selected. I now feel like an old-school mental hospital doctor and want to electrocute all my sims.

Didn’t know if that was an updated thing or not but just a heads up for anyone about to start the quest, you may have to do this. Not sure if I’ll make it in the 2 days but that’s ok. 🙂

You don’t really need it right now, buy the snow park first as that is required for future quests!
When i placed my weather station it said some incompatable items were sent to my inventory? What is incompatable with the weather ststion? Thanks
Sometimes it says this even if you don’t have anything incompatible but it means things like inflatables in the pool will be moved to your inventory when you make it snow as the pool turns to ice.

It doesn’t need to be exactly S16,000 but I would suggest you buy things like TVs, computers and phones as the outdoor cinema was only recently added to the game so it probably doesn’t recognise it as completing this goal.
