I have missed this quest! Why can’t I start it yet?
You cannot miss main quests they have to be completed in order. You need to complete all previous quests (list can be found here) and reach level 14 before you can start this quest
Can I complete this quest even though I have passed level 14?
Yes, you just need to complete all previous quests then this quest will start automatically
What do you mean when you say a goal can be started early?
Any goal that you can normally do can be started early because you will have access to it and any goal that you can’t normally do you will have to wait until you get the goal to be able to complete it.
The tip with this method is to put the sim doing that action early in a different house that you cannot go to until you get that goal or it will not work.
Which is the unicorn jumping gate?
This is the arena at the stables that is not next to the other two gates
How do I bake rocky road?
Click on a stove and select baking and find rocky road
Does it matter if the rocky road burns?
No it will still complete the goal
My game says there is something under construction when I try to repair the gate, what do I do?
Firstly you need to read the pop up as it tells you exactly what is under construction, once you have go there and click on it to finish building, then you will be able to repair the gate (it will be something you have built previously but probably just haven’t clicked to finish building yet!)
Can I fix the showjumping gate early?
No, you cannot fix the gate until you get the goal in this quest

Yes you have to finish it to unlock the showjumping hobby before you can move onto the next quest

I find that the easiest way to get LPs is to have each sim specialize in something different to the max and throw one in the competition each day. Also, keep a teen idol around just filling the hobby collection. Each will give you 3LPs every other day or so (as the competition seems rigged lately). Also, if you are bored and have senior Sims that have already done the life goals and have life left… have them grow garlic and level up for LP bonus. And there’s always the weekly tasks. All of these can be done with minimal effort while doing other stuff with the majority of your Sims.
i hate it when the daily quests are for preteens when i dont even have a preteen! cause then i have to skip over it 😦

In the Hidden Unicorn quest, there is a task to “Laugh with Sim”. I don’t see that option when I click on them to interact. I see “Be Funny”, but that doesn’t work.
Are you on the goal yet? You need to have the goal to do this option, for me it was on the top right hand side of the interaction options
I figured out that it has to be an adult doing the action. It cannot be a senior. I have been using a senior who is totally done with his life dreams to do the tasks for this quest. I have “retired” seniors doing most tasks unless it specifically asks for a certain age sim to do something.
It is possible for teenagers. I couldn’t laugh with other age sims.
Doesn’t work for me either… That’s the goal that it says I need to complete, however I cannot get that option to come up… Tried with all of my sims too… Any help?

You can’t fix the show jumping gate until you have done this quest, you may have fixed another gate, the show jumping gate is the one to the right of the screen, in line with the stables

Yes you can
The horses are sold separately, you need to build the stables then you can add a horse, it’s a bit like buying a crib for a baby then adding the baby

Hi. Thanks for all the information in your blog. I have found it very useful. Just noticed something interesting. I just reached “Search for unicorns on the internet” and found that if I use a 1 star computer it takes 9 hours to complete but if I use a 3 star computer it takes 12 hours! Either a bug or some programmer wanting to mix things up for fun! Anyway I will be checking before starting long tasks in future!

Something odd I noticed, when I looked for unicorns on the internet, it was only 9 hours on my one star computer, compared to 12 on the three star, and 12 1/2 on the two star. Didn’t think they’d ever let me save time by using a one star object lol

Can you have all 6 horses plus the unicorn or do you have to choose between which 5 horses to own and 1 unicorn?

My sim is a few hours from finishing Read Poopin Rainbows. If I start a sim Baking Rocky Road and finish up in the appropriate order, that will save time, I believe. Likewise, if a sim starts Deep Sleep after midway through Baking Rocky Road, that will be overlapping the times and save time. Please correct me if I’m wrong. Thanks for your blog!
Yeah you can bake rocky road while reading but I wouldn’t deep sleep then, deep sleep during the time you are waiting for the unicorn as that takes a day 🙂

Is thıs really true? I mean i first saw this in your blog. I mean can we make the 2 goals at the same time with 2 diffrent sims? How could this be possible?
Well basically it is possible to do 2 goals at once if you know what goals are next and the next goal you want to do is a general task such as bake gingerbread, you can’t do a task early that isn’t usually avaliable such as read pooping rainbows has to be done when you get the goal
But if you start the task read pooping rainbows in house 1 you can then put on the rocky road in house 2 but you can’t go to that house again before the goal to bake rocky road appears or it won’t count

So I need help I just finished bakin rocky road called sim to stable and now it tells me to place rocky road at jumping gate. The problem I have is I finished the jumping gate when I first finished the stables so there is no glazing icon. Any suggestions on what I should do ?
There should be one gate that is still greyed out (if you have built the other two) that is the one you need to click on, you can’t build the show jumping gate until you have done this quest, the other two are the horse tricks and vaulting
I can’t complete the last task to build the show jumping gate. It says another building is in progress but there isn’t. Any advice on this? Thanks
Are you sure nothing else is building? Such as a house or another horse gate?

All you can really do is check that nothing else is actually building such as a stable
If you’re wondering where this quest fits in the overall progression, I was put on this quest this morning after finishing It’s Going Swimmingly, which I had already been on before this quest became available. I’m well past level 14. My guess is that once you’re level 14 and have opened up the second horse ring, it will insert this quest into your normal quest line, right after your current quest. I suspect the original horse quest may work the same way.

It turns out that my theory about this quest being inserted after your current quest was more complicated than what it really is. The Hidden Unicorn is between It’s All Going Swimmingly and Preparing for Preteens in the main quest sequence.

I think seniors can do it too
When I had to do ‘deep sleep’ the baby woke up and the goal was completed. I just had put the baby on 4 hours of sleep, so it definitely saves time.
I’m not sure why this would work, it says deep sleep not have a sleep but okay 😛
But you can save even more time anyway by deep sleeping early anyway 🙂
How do you pass on an orb from the inventory to a sim?
Just take a sim to the wardrobe who doesn’t have a life dream and there you will be able to give them a personality, it should say on one of the options that there is an orb avaliable- if you read the life dreams and legacies tips post you would have found this without needing to comment 🙂

I’m at the quest part where I need to hide and wait for the unicorn behind the tree….but which one is it??? I have clicked on all of them at the park but can’t find it 😦

How can we add the unicorn in the stables when all the stables are occupied? There are already 6 kinds of horses and just 6 stables are available. Do we have to delete a horse to have the unicorn?
No, you will need to delete a horse to add a unicorn to the stable
I don’t think you have to delete a horse. I unlocked the 6 horses and after I completed the unicorn quest, a 7th spot opened at the rear door of the barn. I’ll know for sure once I complete the Showjumping hobby.

Gosh… After completed the quest not only I had to remove rocks or take off grass now I have to fix the broken fences at the show jumping gate for 1 day each?! My god how hard could that be??? ;'( Oh by the way I love your blog your amazing!!! :’)

I’ve just completed this quest. The “look for Unicorns” on a computer task is now 13.5 hours on all computers, unfortunately. The last task is 9 hours now instead of 10.
well that is weird because I have just done the computer task and it is still 9 hours on a 1 star computer 🙂

I just started this quest, it seems to be one of the easier ones. Unlike all going swimmingly, it took me for forever to get the first set of diving medals, then running fake errands for 24 hrs. This quest seems like a little break.
I have a swimming pool, and I haven’t even started this quest! Lol

Hi, I just started to play The Sims FP in the beginning of August. I’m using the xbox version on my Windows Phone. Do you know why I don’t get the Breadwinner, Need for Steed, and this Unicorn quests? Right after I completed the swimming quest, I go straight to the preteens one.

I need some advice, please. I’m currently doing the read pooping rainbows task on this Hidden Unicorn quest (16 hours left on it). I’m aware the next quest In Da Clubhouse requires a toddler. I have only babies at the moment. I know baking the birthday cake takes 1 day but I still can’t figure out when to bake it – I’m not that great with math and overlapping times etc. I’ve just barely figured out when to bake the rocky road for this quest, lol. I’m also a bit unclear if the age up process is instant or if that also takes another day? Do I bake to completion first then click have birthday or click have birthday first then bake/wait for the cake? Does ageing up interfere with build tasks at all (does the game see it as building a baby or toddler)? Thanks for making this blog – it has already been extremely helpful to me so far. I guess that’s why I’m asking you for advice – you obviously know what you’re doing – me … not so much! 😀
Right I would start baking the cake asap because it will take a day to bake, then after it has been made you can either age the baby straight away as it is instant (click have birthday on the baby after the cake has been made) or wait until you need the toddler as it will store the cake.
Ageing doesn’t interfere with building tasks.

I’m currently doing this quest and realised that for the task “Look for unicorns on the internet”, the glitch has been fixed and the time needed has been reduced: it now takes 7 hours for a 3-star computer, 8 hours for 2-star computer, and 9 hours for 3-star computer. Hope this is of help to you! FYI: I’m playing on an IPhone (:

It appears from the new update you can buy the unicorn rocking horse for the same price as the red rocking horse? And I can’t buy the dress up chest in the online store….? Missed it for free as didn’t complete within time limit but it’s not an option to purchase? I have the automatic pee cleaner and Adidas clothing to buy and dolphin pool toy pack but no dress up chest??…..

I was unable to finish the hidden unicorn quest in 6 days so it wouldn’t let me unlock the show jumping hobby. Is there any way I could still unlock the hobby even if there aren’t any quests left for it?
You just need to complete the quest to unlock the hobby, you don’t have to complete it in time.
I really appreciate the work you have done to create these quest list. I just started to fix the jumping gate and with some pre-planning (like the rocky-road and deep sleep) I was able to get this far with 77 hours left.
Some of the times I got were shorter than your list, not sure if it was from the last update, or something else with my game.
Here are the different times I got:
Investigate horse – 4 min
Check horn – 4 hrs
Call a friend – 5 min (only one different and longer, by 2 min)
Look up unicorns on internet – 7 hrs on 3 star computer (they may have fixed the ‘glitch’), it was still 9 hrs for a 3 star computer
Read pooping rainbows – 19 hrs
