To begin this quest you need to build the mall, you can find it on the right hand side in simtown. If you complete this quest in the time limit you will unlock the burger bar. You can still complete this quest once the time limit is up to unlock the mall but you won’t get the burger bar
You cannot complete this quest at the same time as any other discovery quest
HOW LONG DOES THIS QUEST TAKE TO COMPLETE?
Times may vary depending on the star rating an item has.
- Send a sim to the mall
- Buy something from the mall store (click on the store icon in the entrance)
- Send a sim home
- Invite a date to the new mall- 8 minutes (click the interaction between two sims)
- Summon courage on a couch- 12 hours 30 minutes
- Invite a date to the new mall- 5 minutes
- Send 2 sims to the mall
- Investigate strange noise- 10 hours 30 minutes
- Introduce your sim to the robot- 10 minutes
- Leave the mall
- Have 2 sims watch the news- 4 minutes
- Ask another sim to return to the mall- 2 hours 30 minutes (select interaction between two sims)
- Remind sim about shopping- 3 hours 30 minutes (select interaction between two sims)
- Watch self defence on TV- 11 hours
- Send 2 sims to the park
- Have a sim go running- 9 hours 12 minutes (click on thinking man statue)
- Send 2 sims to the mall
- Clear boxes- 2 hours 30 minutes
- Talk to robot- 25 minutes
- Suggest a prop- 2 hours 40 minutes (select any option)
- Suggest an animal- 5 hours 30 minutes (select any option)
- Perform an act- 7 hours 31 minutes
- Talk to a sim- 15 minutes (the sim is standing outside the mall)
- Shut down the lasers (switch off red button on wall- 1 minute)
- Distract the robot, you need to do two things to complete this goal:

- The correct object is Wind up dog– 5 hours 30 minutes
- Then once that task is done you need to click on the lasers again (switch off- 2 seconds)
- Investigate the robot- 15 minutes
Oh and he is a toddler– that wasn’t obvious at all!
- Investigate the robot head- 10 minutes
- Build a new store- 1 hour S1,000
- Browse new store (click on store icon in entrance)
- Cheer with another sim- 1 minute (interaction)
QUEST IS COMPLETE!
The entrance to the mall now needs to be cleared before you can unlock the next areas (including the Catwalk Model Hobby) My Guide to the Mall shows you what needs cleaning in the mall, how much the stores cost and what clothes you unlock in each store!
Prize: Burger Bar
Is the prize worth it? Yes, I think it is- otherwise you have an empty space on this level of the mall!
The burger bar is located on the middle level of the mall above the ground floor you have already opened.
NOTE: you need to click on the upstairs button at the mall to get the option to build the burger bar. If you can’t see the button you need to have a sim go to the mall. Click on a bench on the left side upstairs as if you want that sim to “rest from shopping.” The icon should appear now.
What can you do with the bar?
Adults can have burgers (wait for burger- 1 hour) have a sim serve at the bar (10 hours) so that sim can have a burger- 10 minutes
Teens can have burgers but also milkshakes at the bar (wait for milkshake- 10 minutes) if you want them to have a milkshake you again need a sim serving and then 2 sims sitting at one table as they share the milkshake.

Click on the wind up dog then once that task is complete click on the lasers
My game will not recognise I have completed the leave the mall goal, what should I do?
Try and have all your sims not doing any action, this sometimes makes the game recognise you have completed that goal
What do I get if I complete this quest in the time limit?

I can’t complete construction on the burger bar, why?
You need to click on the upstairs floor button at the side of the screen to see the next floor at the mall
What happens if I don’t complete in the time limit, can I still finish this quest?
Yes you have to finish it to unlock the mall before you can move onto the next quest

No, you cannot redo quests

No, the only way to get the limited time prizes is by completing the quest in the time limit

I have heard that there are a few hobbies that are unlocked after you finish building the mall (besides the catwalk hobby). Correct or wrong?
Do any of the new hobbies require you to have any non-adults (read = babies, toddlers, preteens, or seniors)?
Is there a time limit to START this quest (if you want to unlock the “Burger bar”), or is there only a time limit to COMPLETE this quest if you want to unlock the “Burger bar”?
There are two hobbies, catwalk and bowling, bowling hasn’t unlocked yet so I can’t tell you who can do it yet but catwalk can be done by an adult or teen
There is no time limit to start this quest, you can build the mall and start it whenever you want to, the only time limit is when you have started the quest you need to complete it in 7 days to unlock the burger bar, yes.
I think you missed a task: Investigate the robot head, 10 minutes, and after Investigate the robot.
My game must have glitched and skipped this goal because it didn’t appear for me but I have added it now.
Does it matter if you use a married couple to do the quest? It says to ask your sims crush but my sims are all married!

Anyone else unable to open their game after this update? I’m on a Dell tablet, less than 6 mos old, and since it updated this morning my game doesn’t open at all.
you should contact EA about this issue, they might be able to help
Darla, I’ve also had problems since this update on my Kindle. I have to go into my settings, bring up a list of running apps, and “force stop” it. Otherwise, it sometimes just hangs on a black screen or gets caught in a loading loop. Try forcing it to stop and/or rebooting your tablet.
I used to have the same issue every update, but I fixed it by uploading my save to the cloud, uninstalling the game from my Kindle, reinstalling it from the store, and uploading my saved data through my Facebook profile info. It takes a few hours to upload your saved data, but once you do it’ll work fine.

We all have different opinions but I like it, you get more clothes if you build it
I have a question. I’m on perform an act. It skipped the previous 2 tasks but every time I click on the robot and select an act (no matter what act it is, I’ve tried all 3) my Sim walks away and quits the task. I’ve tried using LP to get through and just wasted 7 LP. I’ve switched to different sims. I’m not sure what’s going on. Have you heard of this happening to anyone else? Thank you. I can’t go any further in the mall now.
Loads of people have had this problem and I heard that this issue was fixed but if it still isn’t working you should contact EA

I have about 50LPs right now and I don’t buy them, I complete the cooking hobby to earn them 🙂

Do we need to complete the book of spells quest first to do this discovery quest? Or can we just straight away come to this?
if you are on the book of spells you need to complete it first, if you haven’t started it yet then you don’t have to do that one before this quest.
After investigating the robot, and before building the first store is step. It’s investigating the robot head which takes 10 mins. Didn’t know if you wanted to throw that in there.

also another question, I did not like auto aging and death, so I skipped all those aging family quest, and got angry so unliked the sims freeplay page, so I didn’t get any news form them for a while …also could not do any new quest fora while until the wizard quest I think….so anyhow I am just wondering did the death ever get removed or is still there? only way to avoid it is t skip the quest like I did?

The modeling hobbie starts with only one option, it lasts 10h30 and only one sim can do it at a time. Annoying.

Seriously? Who does modelling for 10 hours a day as a HOBBY anyway? Are there collectibles and stuff? The prizes should better be worth it..
the catwalk hobby unlocks the stores in the mall and the bowling hobby
Yes the modelling hobby is very annoying. Taking one sim 10.5 hours, they do the same four outfits and she trips every time in the same place. At this rate, trying to collect all the medals to open the Bowling Hobby will take 126 hours. That is IF no doubles — big whoop. So far, the mall update is mediocre and I’m sorry I bothered to build it. The XPs earned for tasks like clearing rubbish or doing the modelling is really not worth it. MHO, of course. Can’t build any of the other stores before “Line One of Poses” is complete. I assume that is part of the modelling hobby that has to be done first.
yes you need to find the first row in the catwalk hobby to unlock two stores, and the second row to unlock the two other stores in that area

Most windows phones are no longer compatible with the game, if you don’t have an update in the app store then unfortunately you can’t get it, sorry!

This isn’t related to the sunset mall quest, but with the new update. How can I remove the umbrella? I tried clicking on the mannequin with no umbrella, but when my sims goes outside she still has the umbrella. Help plz.
are you clicking on the tick at the top instead of the door? the tick saves it.

click the tick, not the door, the door cancels your changes.
I dont know if anyone else has aksed or has had this problem but after have two sims at a park it tells me to click on the statue and go running but it doesnt come up on the statue as an option
what aged sim are you using? try using an adult.
I hadnt completed the pirate treasure quest and the option to search the statue for a clue was there. Once I did it the go running appeared. Thanks anyway
It wouldn’t let me send a preteen running but did allow me to complete the task with a teenager.

it is right next to the bench, I don’t know how I can be more specific than that! The globe and weather machine aren’t near the bench, just zoom in and look for it.

no you can’t restart and no you can’t get the prize if you don’t complete in time.
Is anyone else having trouble trying to “Service the Burger Bar”? I have tried it twice now, with 2 different Sims. The first time it seemed to be fine as it started counting down time- then apparently just stopped after about 4 seconds. I believe the task is around 10 hours, & I didn’t notice it wasn’t counting until about 8 hours into it! I cancelled the action instead of wasting 9 LP’s to finish it. Then I waited about 12 hrs & tried again & the same thing happened! This time I noticed right away though and just cancelled the action again. Any suggestions??
Strange, I haven’t had this issue but I haven’t left someone serving for 10hours as there doesn’t seem much point, I only have someone serving while someone is there to eat

Yes but you don’t accept the quest it just starts as soon as you click on the built mall

I have built the store and the next action is to browse the store. But I have done it six times and bought items and it won’t move on to the next action. Did you experience this?
No I didn’t, this sounds like a glitch, you may need to contact Ea to see if they can fix it.
Do you know if there’s another way (that’s free) to get SP points Besides completing tasks in another sim town?

I got 18 SPs out of my mystery box. It cost 10 keys (10 weekly task completions) and also had some objects and furniture and LPs and some monument ingredients.
Since it’s so easy to get life points with the cooking hobby, I use some to speed up social tasks so I can get more done. Also, I have got SP from the fortune boxes for completing weekly tasks, just save up your keys until you have 10.
