The Sims Mobile Moves to Firemonkeys

Yesterday it was announced on Twitter that The Sims Mobile will be moving from Maxis (the makers of The Sims 4) to Firemonkeys (the makers of The Sims Freeplay). The statement said:

“To our mobile Simmers, we have some updates on the future of The Sims Mobile. The Maxis studio has made the decision to move development of The Sims Mobile to the Firemonkeys studio. The Firemonkeys have extensive and longstanding experience with The Sims having developed The Sims Freeplay for nearly a decade. Maxis and The Firemonkeys have worked closely to make this transition as smooth as possible and we’re all very excited about the future of The Sims Mobile. We continue to value and appreciate all the passion and enthusiasm you bring into this game! Maxis will continue to invest in The Sims on PC and Console and the Firemonkeys team will continue to expand The Sims universe through The Sims Freeplay and The Sims Mobile.

Moving forward, you will continue to be able to play The Sims Mobile as you do now. Given this transition, content updates will be delayed so please be patient as the Firemonkeys team ramps up and embraces The Sims Mobile.”

So what does this mean for both games? Well at the moment we don’t really know, all I know is there aren’t any plans to get rid of The Sims Freeplay right now and updates for The Sims Mobile may be delayed also most of the team who were working on The Sims Mobile are moving to The Sims 4 (as Firemonkeys is based in Australia not the USA)

Personally I’m not sure what to make of this news, I don’t want The Sims Freeplay to die because they are spending all their time on The Sims Mobile however at the same time I think they might be able to save The Sims Mobile because right now it needs a lot of work but we will have to wait and see!

The Sims Freeplay- French Romance Live Event

THIS EVENT IS OVER

The french romance live event is back for 12 days, if you manage to complete in the time limit you will unlock the french chateau! If you completed this event last time it was available you will not get it again, if you started it last time but didn’t complete it you will start from where you got to last time, for example if you only had one prize pack left to buy you will only have to collect enough resources to buy that prize pack to complete the event. If you didn’t start this event last time you will start from the beginning.

Live Events are very similar to a community event but you don’t need help from everyone who plays the sims freeplay to unlock the prizes, there are only personal prizes! If you haven’t already you need to update your game to the refined romance update to get this event again

Check out my Guide to Completing Live Events (including tips!) HERE!

This event is only here for 12 days and the aim of it is to collect enough arts and crafts items from the arts and crafts stations (found in the event tab of buy mode) to unlock all the items in this event

Want to skip the tasks list? Click here to head straight to the prizes!

NOTE: if you did another Live Event then you will find your arts and crafts stations in your inventory (or in the house you left them at) you will only be able to use the candle ones until you unlock the other stations in this event

Can’t find your arts and crafts stations? Click on the craft station in your event tab to get the option to find your station, it will take you to the house where your stations can be found!

IF YOU UNLOCKED ALL THE STATIONS LAST TIME THE FRENCH ROMANCE EVENT WAS AVAILABLE YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO UNLOCK THEM AGAIN THIS TIME, YOU CAN USE THEM STRAIGHT AWAY (if you cannot use them you will need to contact the makers to see if they can fix this for you)

Even if you did this event last time you will still get most of these goals:

Place a crafting station (find the candle station in the events tab of buy mode (or your inventory)- you can only buy 4)

Make some arts and crafts items (click on the candle station to make)- 23 seconds

This takes you to the prize progress tab (you can get to it by clicking on the french romance heart event button in the corner of the screen)

Here you will see you have collected enough items to unlock the mood lighting! (unless you unlocked this last time) You will still need to buy the pack with the items before they will be available in your home store- which is one of the goals coming up! (keep reading for information on all prizes!)

Restock a crafting station (when the stock runs out you will have to restock before you can make anymore arts and crafts items)- You can restock instantly for 18 uses for 10SPs or restock for 2 uses which will take 10 seconds this time

Buy the mood lighting pack (click on the french romance event button, scroll down and click purchase- this will cost you 50 candles) NOTE: you will not get this goal if you completed it in this event last time

Use a coin flower patch (buy the coin flower patch from the event tab and select the spin plant option)

Check the daily goals (click on the french romance event button and find the daily goals tab- claim the ones you can!)

Remember to claim your rewards each day!

Collect bonuses (while collecting after a certain amount of time you will see the arts and crafts item appear above that sims head, click to collect the bonus item!)

Continue collecting arts and crafts items- this is the last step but the event is not over, keep collecting the arts and crafts to unlock everything!

If you want to speed up a collecting arts and crafts action it will cost you SPs, you will get the bonus items as well if you speed it up!

Constructor Coins

You earn constructor coins by:

Personal Progress prizes

Completing Daily Goals

Coin Plant Patches

Earning Constructor Coins? Previously on these events I used social points on the Mega Spin Plant to win constructor points. I earn social points by completing the cooking hobby and earning LPs, I can then turn the LPs into SPs using the social point plant on a normal garden patch- this was when it cost 5LPs- the social point plant now costs 20LPs so you may want to try the option below first instead:

Or you can use 450 candles for the Spin Plant (a good way to use up any spare candles) which will also earn you constructor coins but the amounts are less than they are from the Mega Spin Plant

What is the minimum and maximum amount of coins you can earn on the mega spin plant? The minimum is 10 and the maximum is 500

Now on the coin flower patch you can see the chances of getting the different combinations on each spin plant, click on the green i button to see:

Laura Craft? You may have noticed at the front of one of your houses there is a board with a bubble of a person holding arts and crafts items above it, this is Laura Craft, you can buy her for real money to help you complete the event. When you buy her, you select the item you want her to make from the options: 200 candles,  300 pottery, 450 jewelry or 500 glassware (the amounts seem to differ for most of you and I have no idea why that is!) (you will unlock all the options once you have unlocked all the stations) and you will be able to collect them after 2 hours.

Do I think she is worth it? They have improved Laura Craft a lot since the first event (although it would be great if she made constructor coins) she used to be able to collect every 8 hours, they have now changed this to 2 hours so she is more useful now so if you are struggling then you may want to splash out and give her a try but remember you will only get her for this event, you will have to buy her again to use her for a live event in the future.

If I brought Laura Craft in the last event do I get her for free or do I have to buy her again? You have to buy her again for this event.

Watch my step by step video of this quest here:

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS QUEST

please read before asking

How do I start this discovery quest?
Once you have completed the basement quest you need to wait 24 hours then you can find Bree (the woman in the hard hat) in the park to start this quest

Why can’t I do this discovery quest yet?
You cannot do more than one discovery quest at the same time, if you are currently on another one (the list can be found here) you will not be able to do this one until that one is completed

Can I do discovery quests at the same time as a main quest?
Yes you can

Do I have to do this quest?
If you don’t start the quest you don’t have to do it at all but if you have already started it you need to complete it before you can move on to the next quest

I haven’t started this quest yet, will it still be available when I want to do it?
Yes it will be, you can choose to start it whenever you like

How do I phone a cab to the mezzanine house?
Using a phone

What are the hazards?
The tiles are the hazards

How much does it cost to build a mezzanine?
The cheapest is S4,800 for 2×1

I had all sims leave the mezzanine house but it didn’t complete the goal, why?
Try and have all your sims not doing any action, this sometimes makes the game recognise you have completed that goal

What do I get if I complete this quest in the time limit?
The mezzanine house

What happens if I don’t complete in the time limit, can I still finish this quest?
Yes you have to finish it to unlock the ability to build mezzanines before you can move onto the next quest

I didn’t complete in the time limit, can I restart the quest?
No, you cannot redo quests

Can I still get the prize if I don’t complete in the time limit?
No, the only way to get the limited time prizes is by completing the quest in the time limit

I don’t like this quest! Can I just skip it?
No, you have to complete this quest before you can move onto the next one now that you have started it, if you don’t start it you don’t have to do it

Some times are slightly different on my game, why is this?
Times may vary depending on the star rating of the item you are using, as the higher star rating an item has the quicker you will complete a goal

Some times are really off/ different goals show for me, why is this?
This will be because the quest has been updated recently, I try my best to keep these posts up to date but it is difficult as I cannot redo every quest each time the game is updated. If you notice any changes please let me know so I can update the post
