The Sims Mobile- Sims NObile?

The latest update of The Sims Mobile has caused uproar in the community but why and is it justified?

Previously when you brought an item or wallpaper etc in the game you got many different colour swatches of that item once you buy it so you could change between colours as much as you liked for free but for some reason The Sims Mobile team decided to change this for the Winter update. Now when you buy a new item you have to buy the different colour swatches individually:

You’d think that buying the colour entitled you to that item but no, you have to then buy the item once you have paid to unlock the colour!! (with the exception of create a sim items, buying the colour buys that item- but only in that colour) It looks like you get to keep all the ones you already had but for future items you will have to buy the different colours separately for either simoleons or simcash. It looks like they have attempted to reduce the prices but some disgruntled players have said this isn’t the case with all items, for example, one of the fridges now costs 425 simcash!!

This is the last straw for a lot of players and quite frankly I don’t blame them. The issues from the last update also haven’t been fixed for everyone which has added to the anger. I am an EA GameChanger for The Sims Mobile so I like to give a lot of feedback to the team on how the game could be improved but the majority of feedback is ignored which really makes me think that they don’t really care about the players just how much money they can make. I find it really disappointing as I’ve seen some really great suggestions that if they took onboard could make this game a whole lot better.

I’ve played a lot of mobile games and generally if I feel that you cannot play the game without spending money I stop playing, I am not against making in app purchases, every now and then when I see something I like in The Sims Freeplay I buy it because they listen to their customers and I don’t feel like I am being forced to spend money. The Sims Mobile on the other hand have been making quests and events longer to the point that they are now impossible to complete in the time limit, the packs they want us to buy are extremely overpriced and now they have done this to make us spend even more money, if things do not change I will be walking away because in it’s current state it is in app purchases with repetitive tasks to complete in between.

The Sims Mobile- Harvestfest Event

THIS EVENT IS OVER

A new time limited event has started in The Sims Mobile! The aim of this event is to earn enough pie slices to buy the bags of plenty to unlock all the Harvestfest themed items in the 6 day time limit! There is also a quest to complete that unlocks a new relationship story and pie baking!

How do you earn pie slices?

  • You can earn them randomly by completing any event
  • Each time you complete all the LlamaZoom tasks you get 250 Pie Slices
  • Completing the Cosy Cheers at the Cafe Event (click on a fridge at home)- available again after 6 hours
  • Completing the Happy Feasting at Home Event (click on a fridge at home)- available again after 9 hours
  • Complete the Harvest Cooking at the Restaurant Event (click on a fridge at home)- available again after 6 hours
  • Collect them from your Horn of Plenty once placed in part 2 of the quest
  • Complete the Recipe Research Quest, there are 29 parts to complete:

1.No idea what this goal was, it was already complete for me! Reward: 50 Pie Slices and Horn of Plenty

2.Collect Pie Slices from the Horn of Plenty (you can find the Horn in the storage section, place it in your house and click on it to collect the Pie Slices) Reward: 125 Pie Slices

3.Tap on a couch to look at photos of Harvestfest food- 5 seconds, cost 3 energy Reward: 125 Pie Slices

4.Tap on the fridge to reorganize its content- 5 seconds, cost 4 energy Reward: 80 Pie Slices

5.Tap on bookshelves or couches 3 times to look for the recipe- 5 seconds, cost 2 energy each time Reward: 80 Pie Slices

6.Complete an event Reward: 50 Pie Slices

7.Change your appearance Reward: 50 Pie Slices

8.Complete the ‘Cozy Cheers at the Cafe’ event- click on the fridge to start this event Reward: 40 Pie Slices

9.Tap on the fridge to write down what you remember about the recipe- 5 seconds, cost 5 energy Reward: 25 Pie Slices

10.Tap on a counter and try following the recipe- 5 seconds, cost 3 energy Reward: 25 Pie Slices

11.Spend Pie Slices on a Bag of Plenty (buy one bag for 250 Pie Slices) Reward: 25 Pie Slices

12.Complete all LlamaZoom tasks and collect rewards Reward: 25 Pie Slices

13.Complete the ‘Harvest Cooking at the Restaurant’ Event- click on the fridge to start this event Reward: 25 Pie Slices

QUEST IS COMPLETE!

If you complete this quest you unlock the Harvestfest Pie Rack to be able to bake pies and the Pumpkin Spice Storybook to unlock a new relationship story

Buying Bags of Plenty and Bountiful Gift Boxes

You can either buy a bag of plenty for 250 pie slices or a bountiful gift box for 75 simcash. You will get an item at random each time, most of the items for this event are clothes or harvest themed decorations so if you get one that you have already won before the second time that prize will be converted into something else for example simoleons.

Each item pictured has a ribbon next to it which shows you the rarity of that item, this shows you how likely it is you will earn that item. You are more likely to earn rare items by buying the bountiful gift box with simcash:

Once you have unlocked an item there will be a tick on that item, the aim is to unlock all the items before the time limit is up!

The Sims Mobile- Countdown to Halloween 2018 Quest

Get ready for Halloween with the Countdown to Halloween Quest, complete all 19 parts of this quest in the time limit (6 days) to unlock 3 Halloween decorations which when placed in your house allow you to get a head start in the Halloween Haunt Event which is coming next week!

I am assuming that it means you can complete events quicker as the bar will partly fill before you start so it is worth completing in the time limit if you want to complete the Halloween Haunt Event quickly!

1.Complete browse for costumes at a dresser- costs 2 energy (select the blue option on the dresser) Reward: 25 coins

2.Start a friendly story (select the begin a friendship on a sim and then choose the story once asked at the end of the event) Reward: 25 coins

3.Earn 3 stars at a party (go to a party and complete actions until you earn 3 stars) Reward: 25 coins

4.Ask 3 sims about costume ideas- 5 seconds, costs 2 energy each time (select the interaction on another sim, can only be completed every 2 minutes with the same sim, use different sims to complete this quicker) Reward: 25 coins

5.Complete the Home for Halloween event (click on a sofa to begin) Reward: Pumpkin Helper (place in your house to get a head start in Halloween 2018 events)

6.Earn 650 simoleons Reward: 25 coins

7.Complete the Costume Construction event (click on a sofa to begin) Reward: 25 coins

8.Complete all LlamaZoom tasks and collect rewards Reward: 25 coins

9.Ask 3 sims about Halloween treats- 5 seconds, costs 2 energy each time (select the interaction on another sim, can only be completed every 2 minutes with the same sim, use different sims to complete this quicker) Reward: 25 coins

10.Complete the Home for Halloween event (click on a sofa to begin) Reward: 25 coins

11.Complete all LlamaZoom tasks and collect rewards Reward: Worthy Pumpkin Tree (place in your house to get a head start in Halloween 2018 events)

12.Tap on a sim to begin a relationship 3 times (select begin a friendship event with 3 sims) Reward: 25 coins

13.Give 4 stickers (click on a sim with a blue plumbob to get the option to give them a sticker) Reward: 25 coins

14.Earn 650 simoleons Reward: 25 coins

The Sims Mobile- Back to School Event

A new time limited event has started in The Sims Mobile! The aim of this event is to earn enough apples to buy the lunch bags to unlock all the back to school items in the 7 day time limit! There is also a quest to complete that unlocks new relationship stories!

How do you earn apples?

  • Completing the Homeschool Event (click on a sofa at home)- every 14 hours
  • Completing the Study at the Cafe Event (at the cafe)- every 14 hours
  • Complete the Marine Biology Field Trip (at the science center)
  • Complete the Going Study Crazy Quest, there are 29 parts to complete:

1.Complete any career, hobby or relationship event Reward: 50 apples

2.Ask 5 others about local universities- 5 seconds, costs 3 energy each time (select the interaction on another sim, can only be completed every 5 minutes with the same sim, use different sims to complete this quicker) Reward: 175 apples and 100 simoleons 

3.Ask 5 others ‘are you a teacher?’- 5 seconds, costs 3 energy each time (select the interaction on another sim, can only be completed every 5 minutes with the same sim, use different sims to complete this quicker) Reward: 175 apples

4.Look up online education from a sofa- 5 seconds, costs 3 energy (click on a sofa) Reward: 115 apples

5.Complete Homeschool event at home. Tap on the pink book bubble on a sofa at home to start this event. You can complete this event every 14 hours Reward: 112 apples

6.Spend 250 Apples on Lunch Bags (click on the stack of books picture in the top right corner of the screen to be able to spend your apples on lunch bags, each bag costs 250 apples) Reward: 70 apples

7.Search in 5 Plants for missing school supplies- 5 seconds, costs 3 energy each time (can only be completed every 5 minutes with the same plant, have multiple plants to complete this quicker) Reward: 70 apples

8.Complete study at the Cafe event. Tap on a pink book bubble at the cafe to start this event. You can complete this event every 14 hours Reward: 55 apples

9.Ask around for a study buddy 5 times- 5 seconds, costs 3 energy each time (select the interaction on another sim, can only be completed every 5 minutes with the same sim, use different sims to complete this quicker) Reward: 35 apples and Besties Study Stack (heirloom)

Place the Besties Study Stack to unlock the Study Buddies Relationship Story (be friendly to get this option)

10.Spend 250 Apples on Lunch Bags Reward: 35 apples

11.Ask 3 others about Educational conspiracy theories- 5 seconds, costs 3 energy each time (select the interaction on another sim, can only be completed every 5 minutes with the same sim, use different sims to complete this quicker) Reward: 35 apples

12.Complete Marine Biology Field Trip. Tap on a pink book bubble on a fridge at home to start this event. You can complete this event every 14 hours Reward: 35 apples

13.Ask 3 others about alien abductions- 5 seconds, costs 3 energy each time (select the interaction on another sim, can only be completed every 5 minutes with the same sim, use different sims to complete this quicker) Reward: 35 apples

14.Complete all LlamaZoom tasks and collect rewards Reward: 45 apples

15.Spend Apples on Lunch Bags Reward: 45 apples

16.Use a chair or sofa to slack off from studying- 5 seconds, costs 3 energy (click on a sofa) Reward: 45 apples

17.Complete Homeschool event at home. Tap on the pink book bubble on a sofa at home to start this event. You can complete this event every 14 hours Reward: 45 apples

18.Ask 6 others about UFOs- 5 seconds, costs 3 energy each time (select the interaction on another sim, can only be completed every 5 minutes with the same sim, use different sims to complete this quicker) Reward: 70 apples

19.Complete all LlamaZoom tasks and collect rewards Reward: 45 apples and Rival Debaters Binders (heirloom)

Place the Rival Debaters Binders to unlock the Debasing Debaters Relationship Story (be confrontational to get this option)!

20.Spend Apples on Lunch Bags Reward: 70 apples

21.Debate the existence of aliens with 4 another sim- 5 seconds, costs 3 energy each time (select the interaction on another sim, can only be completed every 5 minutes with the same sim, use different sims to complete this quicker) Reward: 70 apples

22.Complete study at the Cafe event. Tap on a pink book bubble at the cafe to start this event. You can complete this event every 14 hours Reward: 70 apples

23.Complete all LlamaZoom tasks and collect rewards Reward: 70 apples

24.Spend Apples on Lunch Bags Reward: 70 apples

25.Complete Marine Biology Field Trip. Tap on a pink book bubble on a fridge at home to start this event. You can complete this event every 14 hours Reward: 70 apples

26.Complete all LlamaZoom tasks and collect rewards Reward: 70 apples

27.Ask 5 others about Landgraab Inc. Learning Annex- 5 seconds, costs 3 energy each time (select the interaction on another sim, can only be completed every 5 minutes with the same sim, use different sims to complete this quicker) Reward: 70 apples

28.Spend Apples on Lunch Bags Reward: 70 apples

29.Complete Homeschool event at home. Tap on the pink book bubble on a sofa at home to start this event. You can complete this event every 14 hours Reward: 70 apples

Completing this final part unlocks the Romance Book Collection heirloom, place this to unlock the Romancing the Tomes Relationship Story (be flirty to get this option)

QUEST IS COMPLETE!

Buying Lunch Bags and Boxes

You can either buy a lunch bag for 250 apples or a collector’s lunch box for 75 simcash. I am so glad they have removed all the different kinds of tickets so they are no longer a common prize we get in these events- I ended up with more of those tickets than anything else in the past so I am really hoping I will be able to get more of the prizes this time! I do find it odd that this is called ‘Back to School’ when you can’t even play as a child or teen in this game!

The Sims Mobile- What Do You Want To See In Future Updates?

I’ve had a few comments with suggestions for The Sims Mobile so I have added them to this post, if you have any suggestions please comment on this post and I will add them

  • Expand the friends list to 100
  • If you reach the max level in a career you shouldn’t have to pay to switch to a new career
  • Why isn’t there a bathtub that doesn’t require simcash?
  • The storage section is a mess! We need categories to easily find items
  • Being able to sell items from storage is a must
  • Should be cheaper to unlock new buildings
  • Add more free things to the game rather than new things we have to buy
  • It would be nice to see who has looked at your house and maybe have a message board (like party chat but just for that player to see)
  • Now the daily to do list has been replaced it is impossible to earn fashion gems- there is no incentive to give other players stickers anymore so we hardly earn any gems in the sticker contest
  • Land expansions are too expensive
  • It takes too long to unlock new rooms
  • Make 3rd and 4th player unlock based on level, having to buy those with simcash is unfair
  • A surprising choice is too expensive- actually most things in the game are too expensive!
  • More than one house as we get a lot of duplicates- who needs 5 BBQs on one lot?
  • More display shelves for heirlooms
  • Movable mailbox
  • Camera button to take pictures without UI in the way
  • Walls button to see the walls up as well as down and cut through
  • Family tree
  • A better way to request players to join your household
  • Be able to interact with your friends sims when you visit their house
  • Add teenagers to the game! Even if they aren’t playable
  • Toddlers and children autonomously use the items designed for them (toy boxes, activity desk, potty etc)
  • When a sim grows up and becomes playable their past relationships don’t vanish (they shouldn’t have to be introduced to their mother after they age)
  • Ability to see who’s given your sim stickers
  • Pregnancy
  • A better way to earn cupcakes now we don’t have the daily to do list
  • More quests! Less LlamaZoom!
  • Be able to place items outside instead of being restricted to inside placement
  • More story chapters
  • Easier ways to earn simcash, cupcakes and gems
  • Get rid of all the tickets and just have simoleons and simcash
  • Get rid of LlamaZoom and stop making us do endless LlamaZoom tasks in quests!
  • More career, hobby and relationship stories
  • More levels added to the game
  • Multi story houses!
