THIS EVENT IS OVER
The Backyard Barbecue Event is back on The Sims Mobile from 10am PST on Thursday 4th April (this was previous the Summer Backyard Barbecue Event) The aim of this event is to earn enough lemon slices to buy the barbecue chests to unlock all the barbecue items in the 7 day time limit! There is also a new quest to complete with this event, the Growing Gardens Quest unlocks plants and flowers for your sims gardens.
How do you earn lemon slices?
- Complete the ‘Experiment with Barbecue Recipes’ Event at home
- Complete the ‘Sample Barbecue Drink Specials’ Event at the Cafe
- Complete the ‘Research Barbecue Flavours’ Event at the Waterfront
- Complete the Growing Gardens Quest, there are 26 parts to complete:

EA provided me with the steps for this quest early, if you are stuck on any of the tasks let me know and I will add more information on how to complete them
Spending Lemon Slices- Buying Barbecue Chests
You can either buy a barbecue chest for 125 lemon slices or a gourmet barbecue chest for 50 simcash. You will get an item at random each time, most have different colour swatches which you unlock separately and some items you can unlock more than once, for example you can unlock 5 barbecues but you also have to unlock all 6 colours to be able to change the barbecue to any of the colours available. If you have already unlocked an item it will be converted into something else, usually simoleons.

I’ve only just recently started to play Sims Mobile, so this is my first event. I was just curious what do I do with the lemon slices I earn?
You use the lemon slices to buy the barbecue chests, each chest you buy contains an item at random
Hi, the screenshot of the quest is very helpful but I was quite confused because it says the average duration of collecting 1200 lemon slices should take an hour but it takes me a whole day!
Sorry but I don’t create these quest screens they are provided to me by the makers of the game, I personally ignore when they say the average duration anyway as it always seems to be wrong!
