Do you want to add different wallpaper to each of your walls in your sims houses? Now you can! Once you complete this quest you will be able to add feature walls! To start this quest find Summer in the park (see the picture below to see what she looks like) If you complete this quest in the time limit you will unlock wallpaper and flooring, you can still complete this quest once the time limit is up to unlock the feature walls option but you won’t get the wallpaper or flooring
You cannot complete this quest at the same time as any other discovery quest

- Talk to Summer Feels- 30 minutes
- Send sim home (use the house with the arrow button on the simtracker to send your sim home)
- Panic about competition- 1 hour 15 minutes (click on x at front of house lot)
- Read inferior designs magazine- 2 hours 15 minutes (stack of magazines)
- Browse new trends- 2 hours 40 minutes (using a computer)
- Add new flooring
- Get another sim’s opinion- 4 hours 5 minutes (select interaction between two sims)
- Contemplate design- 3 hours 40 minutes (on a couch)
- Call Summer Feels- 48 seconds (on a phone)
- Wait for Summer to be free- If you take less than 24 hours to complete this set then you then have to wait the rest of the 24 hours until you can move onto the next set, for example if the first set takes you 20 hours to complete the wait time will be 4 hours but if you take longer than 24 hours to complete the first set you won’t get the goal to wait it will go straight onto the second set (so the exact time varies depending on how long it takes you to complete the previous tasks in this quest) OR click on the orange fast forward button to use 10 LP to skip the waiting time and move straight onto the next task
- Ask for advice from Summer- 1 hour 15 minutes (you will find her in the park)
- Eavesdrop on Summer- 2 hours 15 minutes (click on x)
- Apologise to Summer- 1 hour 35 minutes
- Draw up unique concepts- 1 hour 16 minutes (click on a dining chair)
- Discuss feature room designs 4 times- 2 hours 15 minutes each (you need to complete this 4 times so 4 pairs of sims can complete this at once)
- Research designs- 2 hours 20 minutes (on a computer)
- Have a tantrum- 45 minutes (click on trashcan at front of house lot)
- Clean up rubbish- 2 hours 35 minutes
- Phone Bree- 2 hours 40 minutes
- Wait until Bree is available- if you take less than 24 hours to complete this set (if you skipped the other waiting task you will have to wait up to 2 days this time) then you then have to wait the rest of the 24 hours until you can move onto the next set, for example if this set takes you 20 hours to complete the wait time will be 4 hours but if you take longer than 24 hours to complete the second set you won’t get the goal to wait it will go straight onto the third set (so the exact time varies depending on how long it takes you to complete the previous tasks in this quest) OR click on the orange fast forward button to use 10 LP to skip the waiting time and move straight onto the next task
- Watch DIY Homes 6 times- 2 hours 40 minutes each (using a TV, you need to do this 6 times so use 6 sims to complete at once)
- Look for Bree’s email- 1 hour 15 minutes (stack of magazines)
- Call 7 sims about DIY Homes magazine- 2 hours 50 minutes (using a phone, you need to do this 7 times so use 7 sims to complete this at once)
- Look for Bree’s email- 1 hour 8 minutes (using a computer)
- Take photo of design- 4 hours 55 minutes (click on sim with plumbob above their head to find this option)
- Email Bree the photo- 5 hours 30 minutes (using a computer)
- Wait for Bree’s reply- if you take less than 24 hours to complete this set (if you skipped the other two waiting task you will have to wait up to 3 days this time) then you then have to wait the rest of the 24 hours until you can move onto the next set, for example if this set takes you 20 hours to complete the wait time will be 4 hours but if you take longer than 24 hours to complete the third set you won’t get the goal to wait it will go straight onto the forth set (so the exact time varies depending on how long it takes you to complete the previous tasks in this quest) OR click on the orange fast forward button to use 10 LP to skip the waiting time and move straight onto the next task
- Check mail for Bree’s letter- 1 hour 35 minutes
- Go to the park (send your sim back to the park)
- Inspect a thoughtful man- 2 hours (click on thinking man statue)
- Inspect a cartographer’s conundrum- 1 hour 48 minutes (click on the park toilet)
- Inspect something fishy- 1 hour 40 minutes (click on x by the fishing rod on the pier)
- Find and inspect a griller in the mist- 2 hours 15 minutes (click on the barbecue in the park)
- Inspect a box of soap- 2 hours (click on a soapbox)
- Mark letter K on chessboard- 4 hours 55 minutes

- Place a ‘beach coffee table’- costs S400 and can be found in the living room section
- Place an ‘elegant dining table’- costs S600 and can be found in the dining room section
- Place a ‘sleep around the clock bed’- costs S3,000 and can be found in the bedroom section
- Go to the park (send your sim back to the park)
- Try to wake Kewl Tones- 7 hours 15 minutes
- Wait for Kewl Tones to wake up- if you take less than 24 hours to complete this set (if you skipped the other four waiting task you will have to wait up to 5 days this time) then you then have to wait the rest of the 24 hours until you can move onto the next set, for example if this set takes you 20 hours to complete the wait time will be 4 hours but if you take longer than 24 hours to complete the fifth set you won’t get the goal to wait it will go straight onto the sixth set (so the exact time varies depending on how long it takes you to complete the previous tasks in this quest) OR click on the orange fast forward button to use 10 LP to skip the waiting time and move straight onto the next task

- Have two sims decipher the list- 7 hours 15 minutes (select the interaction between two sims)
- Place ‘beige carpet’ in a room- can be found in the floors section
- Place some new wallpaper- buying any wallpaper from the walls section will complete this task
- Place some more wallpaper
- Discuss multiple wallpapers- 4 hours 55 minutes (select the interaction between two sims)
- Ask Kewl about multiple wallpapers- 6 hours 8 minutes
- Create a feature wall (need more help? Check out my video here!)
Now when you select wallpaper 4 yellow boxes will appear, one next to each wall (this represents the wall next to it)
The wallpaper will be placed on all the walls with the green shading in the yellow lines. If you don’t want the wallpaper on a wall click on the green shading and it will go white, this means the wallpaper isn’t being applied to that wall (the wall will remain unchanged)
The green shading needs to be on all the walls that you want that new wallpaper on, once you select or deselect the walls click the green tick to place the paper:

- Thank Bree- 36 minutes (using a phone)

- Debrief Kewl about interior design- 1 hour 45 minutes
- Take selfie with Kewl- 1 hour 15 minutes
- Speak to Summer Feels- 2 hours 55 minutes
- Have interview with Summer- 3 hours 10 minutes
- Thank Kewl Tones- 4 hours 55 minutes
- Say goodbye to Kewl Tones- 8 hours 16 minutes

Can I do discovery quests at the same time as a main quest?
Yes you can
Why can’t I do this discovery quest yet?
You cannot do more than one discovery quest at the same time, if you are currently on another one (the list can be found here) you will not be able to do this one until that one is completed
Do I have to do this quest?
If you don’t start the quest you don’t have to do it at all but if you have already started it you need to complete it before you can move on to the next quest
I haven’t started this quest yet, will it still be available when I want to do it?
Yes it will be, you can choose to start it whenever you like
Is it possible to complete this quest in the time limit?
Yes it is
Why do blue footprints appear when I try to use an item?
Blue footprints appear when your sim cannot access an item you want them to use, you need to either rotate the item or move an item that has been placed in front of it so they can use it.
I don’t understand the waiting tasks, can you explain?
The waiting tasks will only appear if you are ahead of where you need to be at that time so it means you are on track for finishing this quest on time. The time you need to wait for varies for everyone depending on how far ahead you are, if you are only an hour ahead then you will need to wait an hour, if you sped up a lot of tasks then you will have to wait longer. Once the waiting time is up the task will complete and you will continue with the quest. If you don’t get the goal to wait or it completes straight away this means you are behind in the quest but not having to wait allows you the chance to catch up!
How do I send my sim to the park?
Go to the park and click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker, this post explains more about the simtracker
What do I get if I complete this quest in the time limit?
New wallpaper and flooring
What happens if I don’t complete in the time limit, can I still finish this quest?
Yes you have to finish it to unlock the feature wall option before you can move onto the next quest
I didn’t complete in the time limit, can I restart the quest?
No, you cannot redo quests
Can I still get the prize if I don’t complete in the time limit?
No, the only way to get the limited time prizes is by completing the quest in the time limit
I don’t like this quest! Can I just skip it?
No, you have to complete this quest before you can move onto the next one now that you have started it, if you don’t start it you don’t have to do it

Kinda off topic, but since we’re talking about updates, have cats always been able to play with each other? As soon as I added a second cat to a family, they started to kiss and paw at each other! I didn’t know they could do that!

No, you cannot complete this quest again if you didn’t get the wallpaper, sometimes these prize packs can be found in mystery boxes or simtown market events but there isn’t a guarantee that you will be able to unlock them if you didn’t complete the quest in the time limit.
Is this quest able to be completed in time? It seems that it adds up to more than 7 days.
Not including the waiting time the rest of the tasks add up to just 4 days
Yeah why is it so long?
It actually only takes 5 days 14 hours 23 minutes and 48 seconds in total.
really miscalculated there because I’ve just gone done the lost and counted 6 “24 hour waiting periods”
This seems extream is there two different tutorials on this page if so that’s not clear because I triple check3d it, how complicated this quest I should has really stressed me out

It isn’t a rug, it is the beige carpet in the floors section.

You’re welcome! You won’t be able to get the floors or wallpaper if you don’t complete this quest in the time limit.
I’m looking forward to this quest, it’s going to open up new design possibilities. Another wall I wish they would design are glass blocks, I love those walls oh and while I’m at it, interior windows. I would love to build something similar to the house in the movie 13 GHOSTS, obviously without magic spells all over the glass LOL but then that would be kind of a cool option for Halloween?

Yes this quest will be available from the 1st August, you don’t have to start it straight away though if you don’t want to as it is a discovery quest so it will be available until you want to start it

At first when I read your page I thought that we had to legit wait 24H everytime. but the 1st 24h is really you have to wait until Day 1 is done. and so on. from what I say from day 1.

This is really off-topic, but how many simoleons does it cost to have a baby after the Life Dreams and Legacies quest? And do you remember if it costs simoleons to have a baby after the quest is complete, or in time for the last step of the quest (have a baby). I.E. if I start making the baby early it costs LP, but if I start making the baby when I get the goal does it cost Simoleons?

The amount of simoleons it costs varies depending on how many sims you already have in your town, the more sims you have the higher the price will be. I believe it costs simoleons once you complete the quest so it will still cost 3LP to have the baby in the final goal and if you start it early.

I’m on the phone 7 friends task, but it’s not registering that it’s complete, even though I have 7 Sims doing it at once. Am I doing something wrong?
When you click on the quest goal in the active tasks tab you can see how many times you have completed this task so far, what does it say?
I figured it out. Turns out I was having them call a friend instead of calling about the diy magazine. My bad lol.

I’m on the last part of the quest for the day, try to wake kewl at the park and my sim is not losing any time. It just keeps going back to 7 hours and fifteen minutes. Has anyone else encountered this issue. I want to finish quest but not excited to spend 7 lp on a glitch. 😑

That is correct, you only get the wallpaper and flooring if you complete in the time limit, you cannot get them if you don’t
I was going along fine until I got to wake up Kewl which is 7 hours. I had my Sim doing it all day and it would not register. I cancelled the action and started over and still it would not register that time was passing. I finally had to spend the LP to move on to the next task. All that wasted time kills me!!!!! I was wondering if anyone else had that glitch.

Trying to complete this quest but can’t get a Sim to photograph the house. When I click on the X I get the “I can’t move there” signal and when I click on the plum bob I only get Makeover or Birthday. Help?

Will you still be able to unlock buildings if you don’t finish the quest within the time limit?
You don’t unlock buildings in this quest. You won’t get the wallpaper or flooring if you don’t complete in the time limit but you will still be able to add the feature walls once the quest is complete.

I have counted to a total of 257 hour to spend on this Quest that means tah you have to spend 10.7 days and you only ahve 7 days to spend. You also have to be awak for approximately 5 of the 10 days. Is this correct or not?

I am having trouble placing the elegant coffee table. I have tried placing it in a few different houses but it doesn’t complete the quest item so I can’t move on to the next item…any thoughts?

Unfortunately no, you will have needed to complete in the time limit to unlock those walls and floors.
Hi I really need help with this quest as I am stuck at the part where the sim is required to have a tantrum and then clean up the garbage. My sim can’t clean up the garbage, it basically just stands there and nothing happens. There is nothing blocking my sim from cleaning it up but nothing happens. I have been playing this game for 5 years and have saved up my LP so that I was ready to finish this quest but I can’t because of this glitch. This occurred after the 2018 holiday update. Pls help

I dont understand how to “take picture of design”, it says tap on the sims with a plumbob, but none of mine has that
The sim you are controlling will have the plumbob above their head, click on this sim and select the option on them
Can the same pair of sims ‘discuss designs’ twice or does it have to be a different pair???
You can use the same sims but to complete it quickly I would suggest using 4 pairs of sims otherwise you will be taking 9 hours to complete this rather than 2 hours 15 minutes

Thanks for letting me know, they have updated the star ratings of most of the items in the park so a lot of park items timings are slightly shorter now and I’ve updated these times on all my quest posts
The back to the wall quest I feel is a con cause is really impossible to complete this quest. Why put in wait time if it’s not going to be part of the time. Geared so you won’t complete quest in time!!

It may already be stated (and I am super late), but I just finished the quest and didn’t unlock any new wallpapers or flooring 😦 Did I have to do something to unlock them after finishing the quest or during it? I can’t remember if there was a time limit or not, but if their was to unlock them, is there any way I can unlock them if I didn’t make in in the time frame?
If you didn’t complete in the time limit you don’t unlock the wallpaper or flooring and unfortunately completing this quest is the only way to get them.
Hi! Your blogs are super helpful for the people that are stuck on some parts in a quest. But when I looked for “Beach Coffee Table” I can’t find it in the “Living Room” section of the home store, can you give a better explanation of where it is please?
When I was on this quest it appeared at the beginning of the living room section so it was easy to find, you could try filtering the living room section to show just coffee tables with no star rating, that might help you find it.
