- Buy a stack of magazines- these can be found in the living room section of buy mode (costs S600)
- Make a teenager read teen celebrity magazine- 4 minutes 33 seconds (click on the stack of magazines and choose the teen celebrity option- only a teen can read this!) [click blue skip button to complete instantly]
- Make a teenager watch funny cat videos- 1 hour 40 minutes (on the computer)
- Send a teenager to the park
- Create a plan to become famous- 6 hours 10 minutes [inspired: 5 hrs 52 mins] (using the blackboard in the park on the pier)

- Buy a keyboard from the home store (in the hobby and career items section) (cheapest costs S650)
The next goals have you completing the Teen Idol Hobby, each time you use one of the instruments you unlock in this quest you will write a piece of music, once you find all pieces of music you will have completed the hobby collection.
- Write music (using the keyboard to find notes- cheapest keyboard takes 1 hour) [inspired: 57 mins]
- Write 3 pieces of music (you have to find a new note to be counted as a piece of music using the keyboard so you need to find 2 more new pieces of music, when you have found all 3 you will unlock the next instrument)
YOU HAVE NOW UNLOCKED BASS GUITARS:
You unlock different instruments with each line of notes you find, the higher star rating the instruments have, the faster your sim will write music
Once you’ve found all the keyboard notes you will unlock the bass guitar which you can buy from the hobby and career items section of buy mode (cheapest costs S650) (cheapest takes 2 hours [inspired: 1 hr 54 mins] to make music) then when you have found all the bass guitar notes you unlock the drum kit and so on..
- Write 6 pieces of music (you need to use the bass guitar to find the next 3 pieces)

You can buy a drum kit from the hobby and career items section of buy mode (cheapest costs S650)
- Write 9 pieces of music (you need to use the drum kit to find the next 3) (cheapest takes 3 hours [inspired: 2 hrs 51 mins] to make music)

You can buy an electric guitar from the hobby and career items section of buy mode (cheapest costs S650)

Once you complete this quest you unlock the Sim Sign
You will find the sim town sign near the premium residences by the estate agency- you need to upgrade it to get the chance to earn a bonus in revenue. When you upgrade it to level 3 you unlock the teen idol mansion- the first one is free! To upgrade the sim sign you need to collect the resources, to find these resources you can redo the collection and when you finish a line you get a resource or you can find them randomly when you do an action!

Time Limited Prize: Premium Instruments
Is the prize worth it? they are 3 star instruments so you can complete a collection quicker without buying the 3 star instruments that cost LP (but there is no difference between premium and 3 star instruments apart from the cost)

You cannot miss main quests they have to be completed in order. You need to complete all previous quests (list can be found here) and reach level 20 before you can start this quest

Yes, you just need to complete all previous quests then this quest will start automatically
I can’t place the magazines in my house, why?
You need to put them on a table or counter, you cannot place them on the floor
My sims won’t read the magazine, help!

Why do blue footprints appear when I try to use an item?
Blue footprints appear when your sim cannot access an item you want them to use, you need to either rotate the item or move an item that has been placed in front of it so they can use it
Help, all items are greyed out apart from the magazines! What should I do?
Buy the magazines again, this should allow you to access the rest of buy mode
Do I need a teen for this quest?
Yes, in this quest you complete the teen idol hobby for the first time so a teen is required to complete all the goals
Can I have more than one teen doing this at once?
No, only one teen can be the teen idol and complete this hobby at one time
I have done the task write 3 pieces of music but it will not complete, why?
You need to write 3 different pieces, you cannot just do the task 3 times
Why can’t I buy the microphone yet?
You need to find all 3 pieces of music on the keyboard, then all 3 on the bass guitar, then all 3 on the drum kit, then all 3 on the guitar and then you will be able to buy the microphone
I cannot find one of the pieces, what should I do?
Some take longer to get than others to find so just keep going, you will find them eventually!
What do I get if I complete this quest in the time limit?

Just wondering. I have completed the road to fame quest and the teens to adults. But if I take the teen idol and age her upto an adult will that make it so I need another teen idol when the mansion opens?. Do I need the teen idol for anything else in the game later on?
If you have unlocked the teen mansion you no longer need a teen idol but you can make another sim teen idol when the teen idol becomes an adult.

I’m in the middle of the quest. I have done more than six notes on the piano and the bass guitar. Does it have to be six straight notes using the same instrument or I have to use just the guitar. Because I’ve been stuck on this quest for a day and the piano only takes an hour and the guitar only takes two.
you need to find all 3 notes using the keyboard once you have done that stop with the keyboard and move to the bass you then need to find all 3 different notes on the bass, as it is 3 notes for each instrument ,it doesn’t count if you find the same one twice.

I love this game…but I am beginning to lose interest. I was completing the teen idol quest as I said before. I was 83 percent complete with 3 days left and needed the electric guitar to continue. But the electric guitar never appeared. I contacted ea and they took a very long time to contact me. In the mean time I tried to complete the quest using lp points which was such a waste because the notes are random. I was also skeptical in using any more lp points because the microphone would probably not appear after buying the notes for the electric guitar. I continued to contact ea which after much messages…they basically did not believe me about what I did. First they told me that I am not updated..which I was..then they told me that I do have the electric guitar in the screen shot which I did not. It’s been a month now and I am still unable to complete the quest.

I’m on the teen idol quest. My teen has been practicing on the microphone for over a week now but it won’t unlock anything but the vocal melody. Do I need to buy a more expensive microphone? I didn’t have this problem on any of the other levels.
you just have to keep trying, there is no trick to getting them, the more expensive microphone will just be a shorter time, it won’t necessarily find them faster.

you can still get it once the quest is complete, you just don’t get the premium instruments.

You need to use the bass guitar to find the next three songs, which unlocks the drumkit to find the next 3, then the guitar and then the microphone.
Do you think I should buy a more expensive set of instruments because I can save up and I don’t like my teen busy all the time. Because I can save my lp for more instruments. Thanks
If you want to you can, but there isn’t a lot of difference between the times though

It should be in the teen section and promotions r is with the other instruments, if not you will need to contact EA to see if they can fix this issue for you

Hopefully you are not making the same mistake I made…the cheap guitar, standard guitar, and expensive guitar are all electric guitars.

I spent all of my 27lps now I have 0 lps😭. also I have 5 days but I cannot finish the last row to get the Lightning I also don’t have more Lps and I don’t buy what can I do !!!!

If you have 5 days to get the last row you should be able to do that quite easily, buy a microphone and just keep doing it until you find all 3

I did use loads of LPs to build the sim sign, I think I used over 100 but I didn’t count 😛 it takes forever to complete if you don’t use LPs.
this is just what I did, but what I found out is that it is much faster to just keep having Your teen idol help swooning fan , take pictures, or sign autographs To another teen sim in order to get the resources to build the sign. it only takes a few seconds at a time and I just kept doing that to collect the resources. I got more resources in half the time it takes to play the instruments. And I didn’t need to use lp to speed up actions or for the random Spin. If playing The instruments is taking. To long here’s a faster way without Having To use as many lp. (:

My question is, once I do that, (i will have completed the quest, upgraded my teen sim to level 6 in the teen idol hobby, upgraded the sign to level 3, and recieved the mansion,) will I be able to have more than one teen sim play the instruments now? Or is that always just for the teen idol? I sure hope not, because I would really like to make a band with my four teen sims.

a teen can’t live there alone unless you have an adult live there then ask the teen to move in and move the adult out

You need to complete this quest to unlock the sim sign then get that to level 3 to unlock the teen mansion

There isn’t really any tricks to completing it faster, alot of hobbies just take a long time, all you can really do is keep going or use LPs to speed things along a bit if you have any to spare!

the more expensive keyboards complete the task quicker but it doesn’t mean you are likely to find the pieces any faster

1. It doesn’t cost anything, you have to complete the hobby several times to unlock the pieces you need to build it, but it will cost if you decide to use LPs to speed things up
2. It takes forever! You only get one of each piece each time you complete the collection and you need several for each level
3. The first one is free, after that they costs simoleons (price varies depending on how many houses you have already built)
4. Its like any other house, 4 people can live in it at once, the only way you can have all teens living there is if you move in an adult and have teens be nice to the adult until they have the move in option, then you can move out/delete the adult

What’s the difference between the premium & the 3 star instruments? Colors only? Or is it any faster than the 3 star?. I just started the quest yesterday & now onto playing the bass guitar for the 6 pc of music. I bought the 3 star music board & bass guitar, thinking that they might speed up things a bit with its shorter (?) length of time to do a task.
There is no difference in time, the only difference apart from colour is the 3 star cost LPs and the premium cost simoleons

You cannot buy the premium instruments if you do not complete this quest in time, but all other instruments can still be purchased from promotions r us.

Why would we need the premium instruments? I mean, once you finish the quest, what’s the point? If you want to do the collection again you could just use the instruments you have. Not much of a prize if you have to buy them. Seems like a waste of simoleons. Weren’t they free before? I had the game last year but deleted it after the death thing. I’m pretty sure they were free when I did the idol thing then.
You need to complete the collection several more times to complete the sim sign, the premium instruments would complete the option quicker so you would hopefully complete the sim sign quicker without buying instruments that cost LPs.

I’ve wanted to spend time completing hobbies and things before I reach the the Life Dreams quest, so I’ve been moving through the Higher Education really slowly since it’s the last untimed one. It’s getting boring to not work on main quests, though, so I’m thinking of treating Road to Fame as one without a time limit when I get there, if the prize isn’t that important?

did you want to know how much 1 star and 2 star ones cost too? 1 star: all 650 each and 2 star: all 5LPs each
The only reason really to complete this one in time is so you can complete the actions quicker with the 3 star simoleon instruments, if you complete the actions quicker you should be able to complete the sim sign quicker but it still takes a very long time so I just used LPs to finish my sim sign

Are you definitely using the teen? If you are try storing the keyboard, restarting your device then placing it and trying again

I am doing both the Afulthood quest and the teen idol one at the same time. I have unlock the sim sign for the first time, can anyone work on getting the generated action items when they do anything such as gardening?or do they need to be a teen? Kind of like collecting the items for upgrading the statues.
I know only teens can use the instruments. Oh, I finished the basement quest on time, so after I built my basement for one of the houses I got the free one! I couldn’t pass that one up since houses are expensive..which is why I haven’t built any new houses. Yes anyone in your simtown can find the materials to build the sim sign by completing any action (the same way you find the monument resources) but only teens can find them by completing the teen idol hobby
