time and price varies depending on how many businesses you have already but these are the requirements I had
  • Send a sim to the community center
  • Talk to wumples- 2 minutes (at community center)
  • Press look upstairs button while at the community center (pulsing button in top right hand corner)

image

  • See wumples for psychoanalysis- 7 minutes

image

  • Share ideas with wumples- 3 minutes 30 seconds

image

  • Call home store hotline using phone: call hotline- 9 hours (this goal appears twice in this quest so if you make two sims do this option at different houses and leave one of them at that house until you get this goal for the second time you can save yourself 9 hours as it will complete the goal as soon as you go to that house)

image

  • Browse the Internet- 4 minutes (on a computer)
  • Search for bananas- 20 hours [inspired: 15 hours 10 minutes] (fridge)
  • Check email- 48 seconds (on a computer)
  • Creative chat with a sim- 2 minutes 48 seconds

image

  • Call home store on phone- 9 hours
  • Talk to wumples- 2 minutes
  • See wumples for psychoanalysis- 7 minutes
  • Have 3 sims dancing to stereo (task completes straight away)

QUEST IS COMPLETE!

You can now add up to 5 floors to your house- a second floor costs 300,000, a third floor costs 500,000, a fourth floor costs 800,000 and a fifth floor costs 1,000,000!

You will also be able to complete the Woodworking hobby using the benches at the community center
You unlock stairs and firepoles even if you don’t finish the quest in time

Once you complete the patio, balcony and basement quests you will unlock 4 more stairs:

Time Limited Prize: Elevators and Escalators

Is the prize worth it? Yes, there are some really nice elevators and escalators available but you do have to buy them, it also is quite tricky to complete the quest within the time limit especially if it takes you ages to  save up and build the community center.

Where can I find them? In the stairs section of the home store.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS QUEST

please read before asking

I have missed this quest! Why can’t I start it yet?
You cannot miss main quests they have to be completed in order. You need to complete all previous quests (list can be found here) and reach level 17 before you can start this quest

Can I complete this quest even though I have passed level 17?
Yes, you just need to complete all previous quests then this quest will start automatically

I can’t afford the community center, how can I earn more simoleons?
This post may help

The game says I have to complete the multi story renovations quest to be able to build the community center, what is the problem?
There is no problem,  you have to start the multi story quest and the first goal is to build the community center so you cannot build it until you get that first goal in the quest

How do I send my sim to the community center?
Go to the community center and click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker, this post explains more about the simtracker

I don’t understand what you mean when you say you can do both call the home store/ hotline goals at once to save time?
This goal appears twice so it is like being able to start a goal early that you have access to (read the question below if you don’t understand this) to do this you need two sims and two different houses:
1- When you get the goal to call home store you can set sim 1 to do the task
2- In a different house which you need to stay away from until you get the second goal you can have sim 2 also do the task
3- When sim 1 is done you complete the goal the first time
4- Wait until you get the goal again to call home store and you can go to sim 2 to complete it straight away!

What do you mean when you say a goal can be started early?
Any goal that you can normally do can be started early because you will have access to it and any goal that you can’t normally do you will have to wait until you get the goal to be able to complete it
The tip with this method is to put the sim doing that action early in a different house that you cannot go to until you get that goal or it will not work

Does it matter if the banana bread burns? Will the goal still complete?
The goal will still complete even if it causes a fire

I crafted the 1st set of woodworking items before I got the task to, my game now won’t complete the goal, what should I do?
You will need to find the next 3 items in the second row to complete this goal

What do I get if I complete this quest in the time limit?
Elevators and escalators

What happens if I don’t complete in the time limit, can I still finish this quest?
Yes you have to finish it to unlock the ability to add up to 5 floors to your houses as well as unlocking stairs and firepoles before you can move onto the next quest

I didn’t complete in the time limit, can I restart the quest?
No, you cannot redo quests

Can I still get the prize if I don’t complete in the time limit?
No, the only way to get the limited time prizes is by completing the quest in the time limit

I don’t like this quest! Can I just skip it?
No, you have to complete this quest before you can move onto the next one

I completed the quest but I cannot place stairs, why?
Firstly make sure you have rooms upstairs and also give this post a read, it explains how to add stairs to a house

Some times are slightly different on my game, why is this?
Times may vary depending on the star rating of the item you are using, as the higher star rating an item has the quicker you will complete a goal

Some times are really off/ different goals show for me, why is this?
This will be because the quest has been updated recently, I try my best to keep these posts up to date but it is difficult as I cannot redo every quest each time the game is updated. If you notice any changes please let me know so I can update the post

The next quest is Teenagers so you can age your preteens to teenagers!

  1. Thanks for writing this up! This blog is really detailed.
so..if i dont complete this on time, does it mean i still get to build stairs and elevators, but just not those in the pack?

  2. This website is really helpful. I looked on this website to see what came during and after the Alien Concept quest. I didn’t “Dance to Electronica” until I had enough money to buy the community center. Thanks again.

  3. When I click on my phone none of my options are 19 hours. Do I have to wait for that task to come up the first time in order to do it?

  4. i love your site, it helps a lot when i am trying to plan ahead.
i just wanted to share my frustration about this quest. at this point in the game, having built so many buildings, building the community center took 2.5 days. the time frame of the entire quest being 6 days is impossible without spending a ton of LP. i am left with 3.5 days to accomplish the tasks that take 5 days if i was so on top of the game i could do things right after the other. the prizes cost so much too, i am debating if it is really worth it. i think i can finish with minimal LP spending by doing some of the big tasks ahead of time, but it still sucks that i have 1 day and 21 hours and i am on the first phone call 😦

  5. If the banana bread burns, you can’t complete the task 😦 Just found out the hard way. Now I can’t get the prize D:

  6. I’m on level 25, but I never built the community center. Is there a way to complete that quest and build now? Thanks

  7. At level 29 this quest just came up in my queue. I’ve really been pushing to get all quests done ASAP but I think I started pushing like that too late, around level 20. It was then that I noticed that some quests are available at specific levels – for example this quest is available at 17 but I just got it at 29.

So this one comes up right after Alien Concept which takes a lot of Simoleons to complete. I was broke and needed to cough up 275k. It took 3 days to get that cash, sending sims to work by night and constantly growing 1 hour vegetables by day. Now I have 2.5 days to complete the quest and just the first building takes that long to complete. So I came to this wonderful site to see what else needs to be done, and yes, it really does take about 6 days to complete.

As much as I’d like to get the special bonuses, I’m not going to spend all my LP to do it. That’s just my personal choice.

I hope at some point EA offers special incentives which allow us to complete new quests to get the bonuses we missed in prior quests. I’ll suggest that to them – or add my vote if others have made the same suggestion, and I suspect they’ve heard this before. I’ll also suggest that they add a way to take a break between quests. These quests start back-to-back and we don’t get a break to recover or for real life. The only way to save up a ton of cash/LP between quests is to miss the time limit on one of them as I’m doing now – I think this is the first one I’m not completing in time. So I’m going to take this opportunity to stock up a huge amount of cash so that I don’t get stuck like this in the next quests.

Thanks for taking the time to help document this game for others, and for responding to all comments. Cheers from the USA.

  8. Hi i have a question in the multi story a task says I have to complete the first row for woodhammer but before the task came o did it already what should I do. Please answer quick.

  9. Im confused by the calling the hotline trick to save 19 hrs. I made 2 sims do it in different houses but nothing happens, hopefully you can help.

    • Sim 1 in house 1 call the hotline then put sim 2 in house 2 call the hotline, the first sim will complete the first goal when they have finished the task, the second sim will stay on that task until you get the second call hotline goal then you can go to house 2 and complete that goal.

      • I’m doing this one right now. Rather than occupying that second sim over the time of a few of these activities, I’m starting one on a phone call and another baking bread. I expect the phone call will finish and then the bread will finish an hour later. THAT will save some time. I’m also going to start woodworking, chat and the second call at the same time. Each one should finish before the other, but doing them in parallel they’ll finish much faster than doing them in series. I’ll let you know how this goes.

      • I noticed that. The call/bread thing worked fine. I wasn’t understanding what was happening with the Pine Oakio thing from woodworking but figured it out quickly. I’m in psychoanalysis now. 🙂 I’ve taken extra time to accumulate a lot of cash for upcoming quests, and will continue to do so before doing the final dance. Thanks for your feedback.

    • Ooooh nvm i get it now. There is a second part of the quest were you call the home hotline thing. Thats what you meant by a second time. Thanks anyways, your site is very helpful. Cheers!

  10. I just found your blog because something weird is happening with my sims. I’m on the multistory renovations one and I need to do the carving magnum opus but whenever I try to make my sim go upstairs, he goes up, but right away he walks back down and he just does that over and over again. I was wondering if you know what I could do! And it’s fine if you don’t know cuz it’s a strange thing lol thx!

  11. im now at the wood working part and my sims keep on getting back the same items for past 2 days, hence i cant complete the row, any suggestions?

  12. This is difficult to finish in time as it is. Now to call home store takes 21 hours and if you make 2 do it at the same time the second call takes 23,5 hours!!

  13. Hey when ever there is a new quest how do u finish it so fast. Cause u always have a post even when it just came out I am so confused

  14. It’s impossible for me to complete this in the 6 day time limit. Just building the community center alone was over 2 days…plus I’m seeing all these 19 and 20 hr tasks. Anyone else having a problem completing in time?

  15. U really don’t need to worry that much about this quest because if u don’t have as much as 400k and at least 100 lp, I’m not going to lie, your probably not going to finish the quest in time. For example: my community center was 300k, and i only had 100k so it took me such a long time to just do that, let alone the whole thing together. But as soon as my time limit for the quest ran out and I hadn’t finished it yet, I actually was not that disappointed because I kn the elevators and stairs that you could get if you finished the quest in time that you had to buy them, and they were SUPER expensive so it’s not the biggest loss, and It gives you time to finish your other quests like weekly or social or even the Christmas mishap, so if your disappointed that u didn’t finish the quest, don’t be because it’s not so bad.

(P.S:freind me on Game Center if you have a painting easel for social tasks. I have a soccer thing, painting set, teaching board, fashion designing thing, and much more in my sims town, my Game Center name is Jessica Nichole.🇺🇸🇬🇧

  16. I’m having trouble with completing the quest within 6 days, it’s basically an impossible task. Do you have any ideas on how to complete it within the time besides buying money?

  17. Hey I’ve passed lvl 17 and I’m currently on lvl 22 and I still don’t see the stair sign or floor sign, I didn’t complete the quest, does that mean I do not get stairs either

  18. Hey! So I’ve been on this question for a few weeks now and I’m getting really frustrated!!! I’m on the task where I need to complete the first set. I have created every object all except for one item in the first set!!! Every day I get my sim to do woodwork to get this object but nothing yet! It’s just taking so long and I want to go onto the next quests what should I do????

  19. I messed up… I completed row 1 & 2 before the row 1 challenge. I just read what you said about it and think I’m screwed now. I’ve been wordworking a ton since I got the challenge and haven’t got anything new or moved past it. I have no idea what to do now.

  20. I didn’t understand when you said in the description how to save yourself from 19 hours!! Please explain step by step to save myself from 19 hours

    • When you get the goal to call the hotline
      1. Put a sim in one house, click on the phone and select the option
      2. Put sim 2 in another house, click on the phone and select the option
Stay away from the other house until you get the goal to call the hotline for the second time

  21. If I didn’t complete the quest within time do i still get multistory renovations and just miss out on the elavators? Or do i not get the option anymore after not finishing in time? Thanks 🙂

  22. I have a question I built a second floor but I can’t place any escalator but I have enough space to put it there so I don’t know what to do now and the second floor costs me 300.000 simdollars

  23. Can you start “See wumples for psychoanalysis” Early or no? I have a feeling you can’t. I just don’t want to so it again lol.

  24. The build will take over 3 days and the rest another 4,7 days so there is no way I can make it in 6 days wihout buying my way through it ..that suuucks. Does anyone know if you can start all the longer tasks in advance (not workbench until build is finished I get that) and just not visit those houses untill its time??

    • no you can’t start all the longer tasks early
You can put the call hotline task on twice in two separate houses so one is ready for the second time you need it and you can bake banana bread early but all the other things have to be done when the task to do them appears.

  25. Omg this is crazy, my hotline option requires 23hours 30minutes!!! Two more days to go, how am I ever gonna finish this quest in time without using lotsa LP:(

  26. Please help!! I’m on the ‘craft 1st set of woodwork’ goal, but I have carved magnum opus about 20 times, do I just need to continue doing this?

  27. Thank you for telling me what I was in for. Rather ticked, as others mentioned. It’s taken me 4pm days of constant play, just to start building. Quest will be over before I’m even finished. Guess I should be happy with my snowsuits. Grrr!

  28. I completed this quest and yet I can´t have second floor.. I have no idea how to put stairs or anything in the house.. I tried everything and it´s red.. So annoying! Why? 😦

  29. I completed this quest and yet I can´t have second floor.. I have no idea how to put stairs or anything in the house.. I tried everything and it´s red.. So annoying! Why? 😦

  30. I’m on my way on this quest and making this blog as a guideline to plan my moves. It works so far and I’m glad that I read this blog. It reall helps a LOT. By the way, in terms of making a tons of simoleons, my methods are pretty simple (for me at least). It’s a ‘japanese retreat house trick’. I’ve built a minimal number of houses and sims first (some buildings other than houses need a required amount of sims, right?). Don’t get too over enthusias or greedy when you build house as the price to build another would rise up. Now, build a japanese retreat on an empty standart lot. Wait until it’s ready, sell everything inside, sell the rooms, and finally demolish the house. Then build a japanese retreat again and repeating the steps again and again until you’ve satisfied with the amount of simoleons that you’ll have. I’m now at level 12 and in the ‘lost raider artifact’ quest and having 700k simoleons. I’m definitely had to do the trick over and over again as the coming quests might involving a huge sums of simoleons in order to build a buildings. Keep in mind that price and time varies depending on how many buildings that you already have. Mine has four houses (simoleons basis), a building to buy crib, a building to buy hobby items, a building to styles sim hair, an estate agent building, and the bridge to the island. So, I had to wait for 2 hours for it to be ready everytime. It sure kinda hassle, but consistency is the key. I probably adding a new sim to meet a new requirement if a building had a new minimal sims required and definitely will add sims in a ‘fire at will’ style once I’ve reach the legacies quest. =P. I thank to this blog as now I can plan my moves in order to finish a quest in a most possible faster way so that I can complete it in the time limit given. I’d also hope that this ‘japanese retreat house’ trick would help you earn the number of simoleans that you’ve desired. It’s not mine as I’d also learn that trick from other website. By the way, I’m playing the sims frreplay on android.
