To begin this quest you need to build the mall, you can find it on the right hand side in simtown. If you complete this quest in the time limit you will unlock the burger bar. You can still complete this quest once the time limit is up to unlock the mall but you won’t get the burger bar
You cannot complete this quest at the same time as any other discovery quest
HOW LONG DOES THIS QUEST TAKE TO COMPLETE?
Times may vary depending on the star rating an item has.
- Send a sim to the mall
- Buy something from the mall store (click on the store icon in the entrance)
- Send a sim home
- Invite a date to the new mall- 8 minutes (click the interaction between two sims)
- Summon courage on a couch- 12 hours 30 minutes
- Invite a date to the new mall- 5 minutes
- Send 2 sims to the mall
- Investigate strange noise- 10 hours 30 minutes
- Introduce your sim to the robot- 10 minutes
- Leave the mall
- Have 2 sims watch the news- 4 minutes
- Ask another sim to return to the mall- 2 hours 30 minutes (select interaction between two sims)
- Remind sim about shopping- 3 hours 30 minutes (select interaction between two sims)
- Watch self defence on TV- 11 hours
- Send 2 sims to the park
- Have a sim go running- 9 hours 12 minutes (click on thinking man statue)
- Send 2 sims to the mall
- Clear boxes- 2 hours 30 minutes
- Talk to robot- 25 minutes
- Suggest a prop- 2 hours 40 minutes (select any option)
- Suggest an animal- 5 hours 30 minutes (select any option)
- Perform an act- 7 hours 31 minutes
- Talk to a sim- 15 minutes (the sim is standing outside the mall)
- Shut down the lasers (switch off red button on wall- 1 minute)
- Distract the robot, you need to do two things to complete this goal:

- The correct object is Wind up dog– 5 hours 30 minutes
- Then once that task is done you need to click on the lasers again (switch off- 2 seconds)
- Investigate the robot- 15 minutes
Oh and he is a toddler– that wasn’t obvious at all!
- Investigate the robot head- 10 minutes
- Build a new store- 1 hour S1,000
- Browse new store (click on store icon in entrance)
- Cheer with another sim- 1 minute (interaction)
QUEST IS COMPLETE!
The entrance to the mall now needs to be cleared before you can unlock the next areas (including the Catwalk Model Hobby) My Guide to the Mall shows you what needs cleaning in the mall, how much the stores cost and what clothes you unlock in each store!
Prize: Burger Bar
Is the prize worth it? Yes, I think it is- otherwise you have an empty space on this level of the mall!
The burger bar is located on the middle level of the mall above the ground floor you have already opened.
NOTE: you need to click on the upstairs button at the mall to get the option to build the burger bar. If you can’t see the button you need to have a sim go to the mall. Click on a bench on the left side upstairs as if you want that sim to “rest from shopping.” The icon should appear now.
What can you do with the bar?
Adults can have burgers (wait for burger- 1 hour) have a sim serve at the bar (10 hours) so that sim can have a burger- 10 minutes
Teens can have burgers but also milkshakes at the bar (wait for milkshake- 10 minutes) if you want them to have a milkshake you again need a sim serving and then 2 sims sitting at one table as they share the milkshake.

You cannot do more than one discovery quest at the same time, if you are currently on another one (the list can be found here) you will not be able to do this one until that one is completed
Can I do discovery quests at the same time as a main quest?
Yes you can
Do I have to do this quest?
If you don’t start building the mall you don’t have to do this quest at all but if you have already started building or started this quest you need to complete it before you can move on to the next quest
I haven’t started this quest yet, will it still be available when I want to do it?
Yes it will be, you can choose to start it whenever you like
How do I distract the robot?
Click on the wind up dog then once that task is complete click on the lasers
My game will not recognise I have completed the leave the mall goal, what should I do?
Try and have all your sims not doing any action, this sometimes makes the game recognise you have completed that goal
What do I get if I complete this quest in the time limit?
The burger bar at the mall
I can’t complete construction on the burger bar, why?
You need to click on the upstairs floor button at the side of the screen to see the next floor at the mall
What happens if I don’t complete in the time limit, can I still finish this quest?
Yes you have to finish it to unlock the mall before you can move onto the next quest
I didn’t complete in the time limit, can I restart the quest?
No, you cannot redo quests
Can I still get the prize if I don’t complete in the time limit?
No, the only way to get the limited time prizes is by completing the quest in the time limit

No, you have to complete this quest before you can move onto the next one now that you have started it, if you don’t start building the mall you don’t have to do this quest but once it is built the quest will begin
Some times are slightly different on my game, why is this?
Times may vary depending on the star rating of the item you are using, as the higher star rating an item has the quicker you will complete a goal

You explain everything in easy to understand steps and in an organized manner. Compared to you I am an ancient adult who would never have been able to do what you do at your age. How to get orb?
you need to complete the life dreams and legacies quest, then your sims need to complete life dreams to get orbs.
Anyone else have the issue that whenever they tap on the Burger place the game crashes? Any suggestions other than contact EA? Thank u!

Building stores in the mall takes a VERY long time. You have to fill up rows on the modeling hobby in order to even have the option to build them. You have to model to fill rows, only one person can do it, and it takes 10 and a half hours each time! I have been using a lot of LPs to speed things along so thanks so much for your cooking hobby suggestion. I am spending a lot of simoleons too. Spent 900,000 building the mall and the shops inside run about 25,000-125,000 each. It’s crazy. Only break I get is that I always make WORK my life goal for every sim where it’s an option so not only do they bring in $$ but they have time to do other things like plant or cook. I spend so much of my real life thinking about if my sims have finished doing this or that so I can start them on something else lol. It’s exhausting but fun! Thank you so much for all the help you give. You’ve quickly become a dependable go-to person for me.
I’m in need of money for my Sims. I don’t want to buy cabuse I could finish my real money. Everyday I send my Sims to work and I make them plant, I earn about 10, 000 a day for them. Is there a way to speed things up?.
P.s. same goes for the L.P but I don’t have any means of getting them except for competitions.

Does the mall unlock new hairstyles? Or only new clothes?
I believe it is just clothes but I haven’t built all the stores yet.
I haven’t unlocked the pickle bar; so when I click on the unlocked pickle bar, it says I can unlock it if I get the grand prize for bowling or something :O maybe that’s the other way to get a pickle bar (maybe someone has said this already :))
that isn’t the pickle bar, that is the juice bar.
I have a question. I’m on perform an act. It skipped the previous 2 tasks but every time I click on the robot and select an act (no matter what act it is, I’ve tried all 3) my Sim walks away and quits the task. I’ve tried using LP to get through and just wasted 7 LP. I’ve switched to different sims. I’m not sure what’s going on. Have you heard of this happening to anyone else? Thank you. I can’t go any further in the mall now. I’ve contacted EA 4 days ago and have not gotten a reply.
Have you tried putting the task on and quickly going to a different place on the game? that may keep the task going but EA did do a push update to fix this issue so I don’t know why you are still having problems
I did. It just now let me do it. If it hadn’t glitched I could have gotten my burger bar because I had 4 days left with only 5 tasks, mostly short. Do you know if they ever credit you the missed prize because of a glitch? Thank you so much for your help. I’m sorry to have bugged you again.

If you don’t complete in time you won’t get the burger bar but you can still unlock the rest of the mall content once the quest has been completed

Hi, might be a silly question but I’ve finishe clearing my cat walk area but I don’t have the options to build the casual clothing, wumple zone, etc. Is there a specific reason?
click on the stores, it tells you what it requires, you need to complete the catwalk hobby to unlock stores.
Have you noticed since this update that when a couple move in together they don’t share the same last name any more? I thought they might when they get married, but nope – still keep their original last names, I haven’t found out if they have a baby, what their last name will be.

you need to complete rows of the catwalk hobby to build the shops, if you click on them it does say what line you need.

You need to build each store at the mall to unlock the different clothes, you unlock the stores by completing the catwalk hobby.
Hi, love your posts they are very helpful. I just wanted to ask you a few general questions about how you play your game. How many active sims do you play with? Do you raise your sims from a baby or add from an empty house? As I have grown my town and was able to build a few big houses, I have a few empty ones, should I demolish them? It cost me a million to build my mall…yikes. The stores inside are expensive to build as well. Thanks so much and would appreciate any advise in these matters. Have a great day!

At the moment I have 27 sims on my second game, most sims I add from an empty house as adults.
If you want to demolish them, demolish them but it won’t decrease the amount it costs to build another house

Figured out you can have one more sim do catwalk modeling at a neighbors mall. Obviously you can’t do your quests for neighbors at the same time but I only have the 2 rare poses from line 3 and 4 left to get and I’ve only been working at it for 4 days.

You need to update your game to get the mall on your town map.

Take the sim you want to remove the items from into the wardrobe and if you want to remove tattoos click on tattoos and makeup, if you want to remove glasses click on accessories. It is the same for both, you will see the green tick is on the tattoo or glasses that sim has on, the first box is a mannequins head, click on that and it will remove all or you can click on a different tattoo or glasses to change them

Hi. the task is go home and ask someone to the mall. I’ve tried everybody and it won’t give me an option. Is it a specific person (adult, teen, etc) do hey have to be a friend, good friend, married etc. I don’t know what else to do. Hope you can help. Cheers
these are two separate goals, if you haven’t sent the sim home from the mall yet you won’t get the goal to ask someone to the mall

I tried to watch the video for the free like point and when I clicked it, it closed out the game, and stopped all my Sims from doing that they were doing. Now, it won’t let me send them all to work and school. Have you had this problem? If so, what do I do? Thank you. Your posts help a lot.
There seems to be issues with the free LP button, I haven’t been able to use it yet as it closes down the game everytime I try. It also comes and goes, I think we will have to just wait and see if EA sort out the problems in the next update! For now I would just avoid using it.

The most annoying thing happened to me! See, I got a message saying that I could build the mall and get the quest. So I looked at it and it was 20,000 dollars, so I could afford it. However, I just happened to be on the need for steed quest and it wanted me to build the stables, so I just decided that I would do it afterwards. Once I came back, it cost 100,000 dollars!!! Why?
this is because the price increased every time you build a new building, which is why the price varies for everyone

I’m having a strange problem at my salsa dancing hobby. At the first time the bar was filled at 47%, so i choose 7 hours action to fill the rest of the bar. When my sims were dancing the bar reached 87% but when the action were finished it sent back to 47% like nothing had changed?
Have you got the latest update? If not then that fixes this issue, its just a glitch where the % bar isn’t correct but it does not stop you from levelling up.
Yes i have the latest update (mall). The problem happened again when i opened my game 25 minutes ago. i notticed that my sim’s dance partner had leveled up (from 4 to 5). But the other one still stucked at 47%.
only the dancer who picks the dance levels up, you need to swap them over to get the other one to level up.

preteens can’t do much at the mall, they can buy clothes and sit around but they can’t do any hobby
