To begin this quest you need to build the mall, you can find it on the right hand side in simtown. If you complete this quest in the time limit you will unlock the burger bar. You can still complete this quest once the time limit is up to unlock the mall but you won’t get the burger bar
You cannot complete this quest at the same time as any other discovery quest
HOW LONG DOES THIS QUEST TAKE TO COMPLETE?
Times may vary depending on the star rating an item has.
- Send a sim to the mall
- Buy something from the mall store (click on the store icon in the entrance)
- Send a sim home
- Invite a date to the new mall- 8 minutes (click the interaction between two sims)
- Summon courage on a couch- 12 hours 30 minutes
- Invite a date to the new mall- 5 minutes
- Send 2 sims to the mall
- Investigate strange noise- 10 hours 30 minutes
- Introduce your sim to the robot- 10 minutes
- Leave the mall
- Have 2 sims watch the news- 4 minutes
- Ask another sim to return to the mall- 2 hours 30 minutes (select interaction between two sims)
- Remind sim about shopping- 3 hours 30 minutes (select interaction between two sims)
- Watch self defence on TV- 11 hours
- Send 2 sims to the park
- Have a sim go running- 9 hours 12 minutes (click on thinking man statue)
- Send 2 sims to the mall
- Clear boxes- 2 hours 30 minutes
- Talk to robot- 25 minutes
- Suggest a prop- 2 hours 40 minutes (select any option)
- Suggest an animal- 5 hours 30 minutes (select any option)
- Perform an act- 7 hours 31 minutes
- Talk to a sim- 15 minutes (the sim is standing outside the mall)
- Shut down the lasers (switch off red button on wall- 1 minute)
- Distract the robot, you need to do two things to complete this goal:

- The correct object is Wind up dog– 5 hours 30 minutes
- Then once that task is done you need to click on the lasers again (switch off- 2 seconds)
- Investigate the robot- 15 minutes
Oh and he is a toddler– that wasn’t obvious at all!
- Investigate the robot head- 10 minutes
- Build a new store- 1 hour S1,000
- Browse new store (click on store icon in entrance)
- Cheer with another sim- 1 minute (interaction)
QUEST IS COMPLETE!
The entrance to the mall now needs to be cleared before you can unlock the next areas (including the Catwalk Model Hobby) My Guide to the Mall shows you what needs cleaning in the mall, how much the stores cost and what clothes you unlock in each store!
Prize: Burger Bar
Is the prize worth it? Yes, I think it is- otherwise you have an empty space on this level of the mall!
The burger bar is located on the middle level of the mall above the ground floor you have already opened.
NOTE: you need to click on the upstairs button at the mall to get the option to build the burger bar. If you can’t see the button you need to have a sim go to the mall. Click on a bench on the left side upstairs as if you want that sim to “rest from shopping.” The icon should appear now.
What can you do with the bar?
Adults can have burgers (wait for burger- 1 hour) have a sim serve at the bar (10 hours) so that sim can have a burger- 10 minutes
Teens can have burgers but also milkshakes at the bar (wait for milkshake- 10 minutes) if you want them to have a milkshake you again need a sim serving and then 2 sims sitting at one table as they share the milkshake.

You cannot do more than one discovery quest at the same time, if you are currently on another one (the list can be found here) you will not be able to do this one until that one is completed
Can I do discovery quests at the same time as a main quest?
Yes you can
Do I have to do this quest?
If you don’t start building the mall you don’t have to do this quest at all but if you have already started building or started this quest you need to complete it before you can move on to the next quest
I haven’t started this quest yet, will it still be available when I want to do it?
Yes it will be, you can choose to start it whenever you like
How do I distract the robot?
Click on the wind up dog then once that task is complete click on the lasers
My game will not recognise I have completed the leave the mall goal, what should I do?
Try and have all your sims not doing any action, this sometimes makes the game recognise you have completed that goal
What do I get if I complete this quest in the time limit?
The burger bar at the mall
I can’t complete construction on the burger bar, why?
You need to click on the upstairs floor button at the side of the screen to see the next floor at the mall
What happens if I don’t complete in the time limit, can I still finish this quest?
Yes you have to finish it to unlock the mall before you can move onto the next quest

No, you cannot redo quests
Can I still get the prize if I don’t complete in the time limit?
No, the only way to get the limited time prizes is by completing the quest in the time limit

No, you have to complete this quest before you can move onto the next one now that you have started it, if you don’t start building the mall you don’t have to do this quest but once it is built the quest will begin
Some times are slightly different on my game, why is this?
Times may vary depending on the star rating of the item you are using, as the higher star rating an item has the quicker you will complete a goal

Just a question , are all the times right on the mall quest? i.e. For the summon courage I had to wait for 15h 30 min and for the store building I had to wait 1h 30 min and I was not charged S1000! Has that got to do with the time we complete other tasks? Love your blog!!!

It says in the post times vary depending on the star rating an item has so I used a 3 star couch that is quicker than the one you used.
And building costs vary depending on how many buildings you have already built.

They have just used a sim who looks the same, I wouldn’t worry about it too much.

You can still complete the dance to remember once the time is up, you have to finish that quest before you can start to build the mall.

When you complet all the quests what happens to your sims?
They will age and die and then you can add new sims to earn orbs to unlock the beach, arcade, pet park and carnival.
It built the burger bar but it looks like it takes ten hours, not ten minutes, to cook/serve them. 😦
Sorry I didn’t word that very well, I meant that eating a burger takes 10 minutes
The mall quest never showed up for me but the rainbow unicorn quest did. Does this mean I somehow skipped the mall quest? Or should I keep waiting for it to show up?

Hi, i want to know about 2 shops which are located at the left side of “All Size” shop. What are those shops? Are they part of the “All Size” shop or Strut Avenue? I myself not sure if they’re part of Strut Avenue since it only has 2 shops (classy and dreams). If they’re part of the Strut Avenue it means it has 4 shops, right?
Those two shops are part of the back lot (area 4) They are SIMmer (teen clothes) and sport and skate (teen male shoes)
Hi, I’m trying to open mall area 5, and I’ve opened enough stores to do so but it says I still have to clean mall area 4: back lot…. But I’ve cleaned it! There’s nothing more I can see and there’s no exclamation point bubbles showing any repairs that need done. Is this a glitch or am I missing something? Thanks!

By the way, why is it that they make it so hard to obtain simoleons ? There’s so much things which i want to buy in the game: shops, clothings, places, etc. It’s okay if they put high prices for everything but, at least, they make it easier to earn simoleons! You know, like removing the sim-eating plant or buildings don’t get more expensive each time they’re built. I personally think that it will be a total change if the sim-eating plant was removed in the next update.

So i open my tablet this morning and found a notification like this : “what lies under the mysterious draw bridge? Check out more on…” however the sentences were cut until “more on”, and when i tap the notification it brough me directly to the sims freeplay. So i quickly searched every bridge on town and i did’nt find an exclamation mark or something like that. And then i thought there was a new update, so i open play store and check the game. The sims freeplay was still on its current update (mall). So what is that notification? Do you get the same notification?
That is just letting you know what a new update is coming soon, it is the royalty update
A pop up appears before it comes out so you know that there will be an update soon, I am guessing it will be in the next week or so
Whats the hardest quest?
I don’t think any of them are particularly hard, some are difficult to complete in time, such as the swimming quest and the multi story renovations.
The “ask someone to mall” doesn’t appear on my thing. Each time I click on Someone. I send the sim home, but each interaction doesn’t have the ask to mall button? Did I do something wrong?
try with two adult sims, you need one of the adults to click on the other one to get the interaction.
I didn’t realize that you can’t do both the salsa quest and the sunset mall quest at the same time. I was working on the salsa quest then started the mall. The salsa quest disappeared. Will it come back after I have completed the mall quest? Thanks.
The dance to remember quest shouldn’t have disappeared, you should have had to complete it before you could build the mall
Are you sure you aren’t on the salsa dancing hobby? not the quest, if so you can do that at the same time.

I heard through the grapevines that the royalty update will come out tomorrow (tuesday 17th). Is that true? And, if it does come tomorrow, do you think that it will be out at 12:00 a.m tonight? Because since today was monday and reaching 12 am is considered tuesday.

What swinging red flower? Is it shown in this post?
It is not shown in this post, i saw the flower when i was browsing for sims freeplay pictures in google image. The flower is red in color, and it’s always flagging/dancing. I think it’s a decor from the RED quest?
That was part of the RED quest, it isn’t possible to get those anymore

The castle takes $300.000 for me to build. I’m still collecting simoleons right now by having my every sims go to work. How about you? How many simoleons does the castle cost for you? Have you complete the line age quest? Let me know soon! 🙂
It is costing S1,000,000 and takes two days and 18 hours to build for me, so I haven’t completed the quest yet as you have to build the castle first.
I have not gotten the new update yet for the castle is there something I need to do ??

On the new update I notticed a change on my sim tracker, homestore tab, the options, and my sims’ needs bar. They totally changed in shape. They’re not like when they used to be. The globe/social tab, town tab, homestore tab, and option tab were used to be on the middle of my tablet screen; While career and education tab was on the right corner; and sim tracker along with the needs bar was on the left corner. Now the sim tracker, hobbies, and career&education tabs have been united as one blue folder on the left corner, while homestore, town, social, and option tabs have turned into square in shape and are located on the the right corner of the screen.
I saw few players dont get this change, but why did i?
It does’nt really bother me, but i just prefer the old ones.
PS: i had been updating the game many times, but this this the first time i got this change.
I use lenovo tablet.
It sounds like they have changed it to the smaller device version (that is how it looks on the iPod Touch 5 and the previous way you had was how it looks on the iPad) Not sure why they have done it though, sorry!

click on the pickle sauce bar at the mall to finish building it, then you can repair the stable.
There’s no such option to finish building the pickle sauce. There’s a lock at the pickle sauce as well but I can start serving already.
So you have built the pickle bar but it shows it as still locked? You will need to contact EA then to get them to fix this issue for you.
First this blog is awesome and very helpful, thanks for sharing.. I want to ask that i built mall and unlock the catwalking hobby than complete the medal to unlocking bowling alley. While i didnt build the area 3 and 4, started to build bowling alley. But therr is a problem that it isnt over anyway. When i click the bowling alley contruction, it says you cant build the bowling alley, the bowling alley is already under the construction in sunset mall. What will i do to fix this 😦

I have done 2 task, send sim to mall, and buy something from mall, then suddenly my quest dissapear. U have any idea why those could happen? I have told the EA, about this problem 2weeks ago, but they havent fix that.

you don’t need to send the sim home to get the interaction between two adult sims, get one to click on the other and it should be there
I’m ready to unlock the last mall area (area 5: unlocks bowling alley, teen female clothes, and women’s classy clothes). The requirements to unlock this area are to have opened 8 mall stores (which I did already, that was the same requirement to unlock area 4), and to clear/clean up area 4, which I also did. There wasn’t much to do for this area, so I was able to get it all done in a few hours. However, when I click On the lock for Area five it’s still locked and I’m still missing a check mark for clearing area 4, I have searched all obedience area 4 as well as the rest of the mall, and cannot find anything else for my Sims to do. do you have any hints to fix this or should I just contact EA? If so, can you give me the information to contact them? Thanks in advance for the help (:

I accidentally said yes to the new Sleepwear quest, and the first goal is to build the sunset mall, which I haven’t yet (level 20). But the sunset mall starts a NEW quest, so will I be doing sunset mall, all going swimmingly, and sleepwear at same time?!
Yes, I wouldn’t bother trying to do the sleepwear quest right now, I am sure they will bring it back again one day!

I tried to find a post of yours about the pajamas quest. But I was wondering if it is possible to send another sim to a neighbors mall to do the modeling for the pajamas quest? I already have a sim modeling in my sim town at the mall so I sent one to a neighbors mall and she is modeling with pajamas like the other but I just wanted to make sure it still counts towards the quest.

Hi xp um this is a complicated question so.. Ill try to explain best i can. I was on a quest for the stable to train horses and all, then i had to build the stable, but i chose to build the sunset mall first, now the stable costs like 100,000 and i cant make that much verg quickly each time, i figured maybe i cant do 2 quests at the same time, so i tried to finish the sunset quests as they come hoping maybe if i finish i can continue my regular quests to age my toddler, but the stores costs about 75,000 100,000 and 110,000 to build.. If i cant build them, but i can unlock them, can i even finish the sunset mall completely..? In order to move on with my main quests?
You don’t need to complete the sunset mall quest to do your regular quests, I wouldn’t waste money building all the stores in the mall at such an early stage in the game when making money takes a long time
