To begin this quest you need to build the mall, you can find it on the right hand side in simtown. If you complete this quest in the time limit you will unlock the burger bar. You can still complete this quest once the time limit is up to unlock the mall but you won’t get the burger bar
You cannot complete this quest at the same time as any other discovery quest
HOW LONG DOES THIS QUEST TAKE TO COMPLETE?
Times may vary depending on the star rating an item has.
- Send a sim to the mall
- Buy something from the mall store (click on the store icon in the entrance)
- Send a sim home
- Invite a date to the new mall- 8 minutes (click the interaction between two sims)
- Summon courage on a couch- 12 hours 30 minutes
- Invite a date to the new mall- 5 minutes
- Send 2 sims to the mall
- Investigate strange noise- 10 hours 30 minutes
- Introduce your sim to the robot- 10 minutes
- Leave the mall
- Have 2 sims watch the news- 4 minutes
- Ask another sim to return to the mall- 2 hours 30 minutes (select interaction between two sims)
- Remind sim about shopping- 3 hours 30 minutes (select interaction between two sims)
- Watch self defence on TV- 11 hours
- Send 2 sims to the park
- Have a sim go running- 9 hours 12 minutes (click on thinking man statue)
- Send 2 sims to the mall
- Clear boxes- 2 hours 30 minutes
- Talk to robot- 25 minutes
- Suggest a prop- 2 hours 40 minutes (select any option)
- Suggest an animal- 5 hours 30 minutes (select any option)
- Perform an act- 7 hours 31 minutes
- Talk to a sim- 15 minutes (the sim is standing outside the mall)
- Shut down the lasers (switch off red button on wall- 1 minute)
- Distract the robot, you need to do two things to complete this goal:

- The correct object is Wind up dog– 5 hours 30 minutes
- Then once that task is done you need to click on the lasers again (switch off- 2 seconds)
- Investigate the robot- 15 minutes
Oh and he is a toddler– that wasn’t obvious at all!
- Investigate the robot head- 10 minutes
- Build a new store- 1 hour S1,000
- Browse new store (click on store icon in entrance)
- Cheer with another sim- 1 minute (interaction)
QUEST IS COMPLETE!
The entrance to the mall now needs to be cleared before you can unlock the next areas (including the Catwalk Model Hobby) My Guide to the Mall shows you what needs cleaning in the mall, how much the stores cost and what clothes you unlock in each store!
Prize: Burger Bar
Is the prize worth it? Yes, I think it is- otherwise you have an empty space on this level of the mall!
The burger bar is located on the middle level of the mall above the ground floor you have already opened.
NOTE: you need to click on the upstairs button at the mall to get the option to build the burger bar. If you can’t see the button you need to have a sim go to the mall. Click on a bench on the left side upstairs as if you want that sim to “rest from shopping.” The icon should appear now.
What can you do with the bar?
Adults can have burgers (wait for burger- 1 hour) have a sim serve at the bar (10 hours) so that sim can have a burger- 10 minutes
Teens can have burgers but also milkshakes at the bar (wait for milkshake- 10 minutes) if you want them to have a milkshake you again need a sim serving and then 2 sims sitting at one table as they share the milkshake.

You cannot do more than one discovery quest at the same time, if you are currently on another one (the list can be found here) you will not be able to do this one until that one is completed
Can I do discovery quests at the same time as a main quest?
Yes you can
Do I have to do this quest?
If you don’t start building the mall you don’t have to do this quest at all but if you have already started building or started this quest you need to complete it before you can move on to the next quest
I haven’t started this quest yet, will it still be available when I want to do it?
Yes it will be, you can choose to start it whenever you like
How do I distract the robot?
Click on the wind up dog then once that task is complete click on the lasers
My game will not recognise I have completed the leave the mall goal, what should I do?
Try and have all your sims not doing any action, this sometimes makes the game recognise you have completed that goal
What do I get if I complete this quest in the time limit?

I can’t complete construction on the burger bar, why?
You need to click on the upstairs floor button at the side of the screen to see the next floor at the mall
What happens if I don’t complete in the time limit, can I still finish this quest?
Yes you have to finish it to unlock the mall before you can move onto the next quest

No, you cannot redo quests
Can I still get the prize if I don’t complete in the time limit?
No, the only way to get the limited time prizes is by completing the quest in the time limit
I don’t like this quest! Can I just skip it?
No, you have to complete this quest before you can move onto the next one now that you have started it, if you don’t start building the mall you don’t have to do this quest but once it is built the quest will begin
Some times are slightly different on my game, why is this?
Times may vary depending on the star rating of the item you are using, as the higher star rating an item has the quicker you will complete a goal

have you tried restarting your device and trying again?
I was confused for a bit, then realized when I click on a piece of clothing a big green BUY button shows up, right on the bottom of that piece of clothing…just click that, and follow the simple directions. Hope that helps, if it’s not an issue with your device.

no, you need to finish it before you move on, it won’t disappear until you finish it.

Hello weightlessmagic ^^ Thank you for putting me on the “Neighbours needed” – list. Your blog is amazing and really helpfull. Thank you very much again for all your effort. Still I have some questions. I hope it’s okey to ask you (and please ignore my bad grammar – english is not my mother tongue).
1.) I was wondering about your statement “When you buy a new item it is then available in your wardrobe for as many sims as you want (who are of the same gender and life stage) to use at the same time, instead of having to buy the item for each sim like you previously had to”. What If I buy something for a Sim (from the Mall, Costume & Swim Store, Salon etc.) and then this Sim dies. Can an other (or new) Sim still use the things that I bought for the Sim which died? I just don’t want to spend so much Simoleons and time for nothing.
2.) I need your advice in this one. At the moment I’m at level 19 and pausing on the preteens quest gahtering Simoleons, LP’s and SP’s for further quests. What would you do? Continue with the quests (as soon as I have enough resources), or should I make advantage of this “No time limit” – quest and build all the business, industry and community lots as well all the premium & standart house lots which are possible and not bonded to a quest?

1. It can still be used for all other sims of that age and gender, as it will be in your store, more than one sim can wear an item at the same time too!
2. I would definitely make the most of the no time limit and continue to save up, I wouldn’t build everything right now though because you will need money for future quests

Finished catwalk hobby & cleaned up…still no bowling alley:( help!
Have you built enough shops?
I’ve built all my shops except for the last two that require bowling lines, and have finished all the catwalk poses several times, still says I need the catwalk grand prize.
I think the problem is because the latest quest required the catwalk hobby it didn’t recognise it as completing to unlock the bowling alley if that makes sense, this issue will probably be fixed in the next update.

no, you have to use the dog as it is a toddler.
Hey! I have a question! But first let me thank you for alllll of your posts because they are super helpful and you give great advice. I would not be where I am in sims freeplay if it wasn’t for you! (I have 139 LPs because of you! Lol) You’re awesome. I normally don’t have questions because I read your entire posts and most comments but this is just random. My question is, do you happen to remember how many sims you had in your town when it cost you $1000 and 1 hour to build the store? If you don’t remember that’s fine. I just wanna kinda get a time frame to be sure I can finish this quest on time, or early if I’m lucky lol. Thanks!

You probably can’t clean it up, maybe have one sim serve at the burger bar and see if the other sim can clean it up.

No you can’t because you can’t usually do those goals, you can only start tasks early if you can usually do them, like planting or baking.

In the sunset mall quest i can’t go running because they are to sims dancing!!!! What do i do?
Don’t click on the sims dancing, click on the thinking man statue behind them

I had a similar problem at the park, my sim wet them self and I couldn’t clean it up because it just tried to make me do the fishing hobby, I just left it and when I got the next update the pee disappeared, so maybe when the next update comes out it will fix this issue for you.

Hi, I completed this quest in time and got the burger bar, but I didn’t build it right away. I went to build it now and I can’t access it anymore. There’s no icon there anymore. Is this a glitch? There’s no icon for the juice bar either, it’s like it’s not even there.

Hello, I’m having a similar problem as some of the comments above. It says I cannot build anything until pickle sauce is finished building, but the icon has disappeared. There is not lock to click on, and shows no sign of it building. Help?

For SPs you just have to complete social tasks or use the social point plant on a garden plot which costs LPs to use
why can’t I build my stores? I didn’t finish the quest I’m time I guess but now i have unbuilt stores, but have the catwalk. I am ticked since I spent so much time and lp on trying to finish. I thought I did but when I woke up, my sims was updated and now it is stuck!!
have you finished the catwalk hobby? you need to complete that to unlock most of the stores, then once you have built a certain amount in one selection you can unlock the next part, clean up and build more stores and so on
I completed the sunset mall quest with 3 days to spare but didn’t get the burger bar, there is an empty space where it should be 😦 I am not happy as I used a fair amount of LPs to make sure I completed it in time to get the bar 😦 there isn’t even a lock symbol up there to give me the option of building it, any ideas on how to solve this problem please.

Hello, it has been wellover 14 hours and pickle sauce should be done but I am not seeing any sign if it anymore , when I try to build another shop in the mall it says I can’t because pickle sauce is still under construction , but I can’t see the flashing green button to indicate construction being finished or that pickle sauce even exist .

Is anyone else having problems with the Pickle Sauce cafe not appearing? I completed the quest, started construction, paid the money to build it, but a construction icon never appeared. What’s worse is that I can’t continue to open stores in the mall or any other challenge for that matter because it says “pickle sauce is under construction!” Someone please help, so frustrated! I need help… I completed the quest on time and I have built the Burger Bar. My problem is the escalators located by the Burger shop…they won’t run. They have yellow cones around them and seem to be broken. Do you have any idea of how to get them to run? Thank you!
