Completing this quest unlocks the third sim slot to add another playable sim for free, the time limit for this quest is 5 days, if you don’t manage to complete this quest in the time limit you will be able to start it again.

How do I start this quest? Select the ‘discuss new housemate hunt’ interaction between your two sims then you will be able to start from your quests tab
If you fail to complete in the time limit you will see this option again after 12 days to start this quest again from the beginning
This quest has Chapters, you have a chapter to complete each day, if you complete a chapter within 24 hours you will need to wait for the next day for the next chapter to begin. Chapters will continue to unlock even if you haven’t finished the previous one so once you have completed the previous chapter the next one will begin straight away.
Can I complete this quest if I already have the third sim slot? No, this quest won’t appear for you

Hi I don’t understand the 3rd playable character quest thing can you explain further ? Is it to have 5 people in a house hold ? How do u assess it ?
Do you already have 3 sims you can play as in your household? Previously you had to buy the 3rd sim slot for simcash to play with 3 sims but now you can complete this quest to unlock that third slot instead.
Hi, for the scan ants for plants part how many times do you have to do it? I’ve done it once and the quest thing says two, but the option to scan won’t come up when I click any houseplant.

I waited till the 2 hour timer ran out…. I am still unable to perform the second search. I bought different house plants to try to generate the pop up, but nothing. Help?

You can complete 2 standard hobby, career or relationship events to complete this task so click on your sims hobby station, another sim or their workplace to get the option.
Hi! If you use this quest to unlock the 3rd slot, how much does the fourth slot cost?
I’ve just completed the quest and it is going to cost 515 simcash to unlock the fourth slot
Has this new quest blocked the ability to unlock the 3rd slot with sim cash? It shows that it takes $175 in sim cash to unlock the 3rd slot, but the color is greyed out and will not do anything when I touch it although I have $203 in sim cash.
I don’t think so, have you tried completing the quest to unlock it for free instead?

I’m having the same exact problem. I have 298 in SimCash and I am unable to unlock a third sim. Like you said it does look a bit grayed out (like a darker green) when I click it, nothing happens at all. I don’t know why this is happening! Have you figured it out? Were you able to fix it?

I went ahead and completed the Roommate Race since that seemed to be my only option. I was never able to buy the 3rd slot even though I had the Sim cash to do so.
@weightlessmagic sorry for some reason I can’t see the option to reply to your comment directly. I have submitted a bug report, but I’m not getting any help whatsoever. At least not yet. I posted a topic on their technical issues forum first, and no one helped either, then I submitted the bug report hoping someone would notice. I don’t know what else to do.
Have you tried completing the quest? Surely completing the quest is better than buying the slot with simcash
When I try so hard to grind and I’m on the final chapter but it has bloody 17 things to do and I have two hours left. Welp, now I know when to quit.
I believe it’s impossible to complete any of the time limited quests in sims mobile, unlike sims freeplay which is far more doable and fun. Except for graphics, nothing really fun in Sims Mobile.

I wouldn’t start that one too right now, if you don’t start that one it will come back again but if you do start it and you don’t complete it in time you won’t unlock the hobby so just leave it for now until this quest is complete.
I’ve been trying to do the chore wheel and I’ve tapped on every table in the house, I even bought new ones for it but it’s not showing up, what do I do?
Do you have a dining chair next to the table? The sim won’t be able to complete this if they can’t sit down.
