THIS EVENT HAS ENDED

The Grand Garages Live Event is back for 10 days from the 20th November to unlock garage themed items! The aim is to collect enough arts and crafts items from the arts and crafts stations (found in the event tab of buy mode) to unlock all the items in this event.

Want to add a car to a garage? Complete the Cars In Lots Feature Quest, the post can be found here

Check out my Guide to Completing Live Events (including tips!) HERE!

NOTE: if you did another Live Event then you will find your arts and crafts stations in your inventory (or in the house you left them at) you will only be able to use the candle ones until you unlock the other stations in this event

Can’t find your arts and crafts stations? Click on the craft station in your event tab to get the option to find your station, it will take you to the house where your stations can be found!

Want to skip the tasks list? Click here to head straight to the prizes!

Place a crafting station (find the candle station in the events tab of buy mode (or your inventory)- you can only buy 4)

Make some arts and crafts items (click on the candle station to make)- 23 seconds

This takes you to the prize progress tab (you can get to it by clicking on the garage button in the corner of the screen)

Here you will see you have collected enough items to unlock the Dappled Brick Wall pack! When you unlock each pack, before the items are available in your home store you need to purchase them with the arts and crafts items you make- this goal is coming up!

Restock a crafting station (when the stock runs out you will have to restock before you can make anymore arts and crafts items)- You can restock instantly for 18 uses for 10SPs or restock for 2 uses which will take 10 seconds this time

Buy the Dappled Brick Wall pack (click on the garage event button, scroll down and click purchase- this will cost you 50 candles)

Use a coin flower patch (buy the coin flower patch from the event tab and select the spin plant option)

Check the daily goals (click on the drinks event button and find the daily goals tab- claim the ones you can!)

Remember to claim your rewards each day!

Collect bonuses (while collecting after a certain amount of time you will see the arts and crafts item appear above that sims head, click to collect the bonus item!)

Continue collecting arts and crafts items- this is the last step but the event is not over, keep collecting the arts and crafts to unlock everything!

If you want to speed up a collecting arts and crafts action it will cost you SP, you will get the bonus gems as well if you speed it up!

  • Additional Space Two: S750,000
  • Additional Space Three: S1,500,000

Once you purchase an additional space you will be able to add another car but you need to have more than one adult/senior sim living in this house to add more than one car otherwise it will just switch their car to the new one you have just brought. For example if you wanted 3 cars in this house you need 3 adult or senior sims living in this house.

The only difference between this house on a standard and a premium residence is the garden:

You also unlock the Grey Concrete Paving and Dappled Grey Brick exterior wall with this house template:

Watch my tour of this house here:

Want to add a car to a garage? Complete the Cars In Lots Feature Quest, the post can be found here

I created a house using the items from this live event, watch the tour here:

Constructor Coins

You earn constructor coins by:

Personal Progress prizes

Completing Daily Goals

Coin Plant Patches

Earning Constructor Coins? Previously on these events I used social points on the Mega Spin Plant to win constructor points. I earn social points by completing the cooking hobby and earning LPs, I can then turn the LPs into SPs using the social point plant on a normal garden patch- this was when it cost 5LP- the social point plant now costs 20LP so you may want to try the option below first instead:

Or you can use 450 candles for the Spin Plant (a good way to use up any spare candles) which will also earn you constructor coins but the amounts are less than they are from the Mega Spin Plant

What is the minimum and maximum amount of coins you can earn on the mega spin plant? The minimum is 10 and the maximum is 500

Now on the coin flower patch you can see the chances of getting the different combinations on each spin plant, click on the green i button to see:

Laura Craft? You may have noticed at the front of one of your houses there is a board with a bubble of a person holding arts and crafts items above it, this is Laura Craft, you can buy her for real money to help you complete the event. When you buy her, you select the item you want her to make from the options: 200 candles,  300 pottery, 450 jewelry or 500 glassware (the amounts seem to differ for most of you and I have no idea why that is!) (you will unlock all the options once you have unlocked all the stations) and you will be able to collect them after 2 hours.

Do I think she is worth it? They have improved Laura Craft a lot since the first event (although it would be great if she made constructor coins) she used to be able to collect every 8 hours, they have now changed this to 2 hours so she is more useful now so if you are struggling then you may want to splash out and give her a try but remember you will only get her for this event, you will have to buy her again to use her for a live event in the future. I personally don’t ever buy her, if I don’t manage to earn enough items or coins in the time limit I just wait until the next time the event is available!

If I brought Laura Craft in the last event do I get her for free or do I have to buy her again? You have to buy her again for this event.

Check out my Guide to Completing Live Events (including tips!) HERE!

If I don’t complete this event this time will I have to start from the beginning when it returns? No, you will start from where you got to this time!

The Sims Mobile- Sweet Treat Showdown Event

Presented by EA GameChangers

NOTE: THIS POST EXPLAINS HOW SWEET TREAT EVENTS WORK, PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR THE DIFFERENT PRIZE INFORMATION FOR EACH EVENT

A new reality TV show has come to The Sims Mobile, The Sweet Treat Showdown! This post explains how these events work

How does it work? The host of the show Patty Cakes will guide your sims through the event which you can start if one is available from the ‘activities’ tab in the event button in the top right of the screen or by clicking on the baking station in Parkside:

Your sim will bake over several rounds against their opponent, a professional chef, the more skilled the opponent the more rounds there are in a challenge. Your sim needs to click the ‘Bake it!’ option on the baking station in Parkside, when they do this they will either succeed or fail (similar to risky actions) For each round they win they will add rewards to their prize basket.

If they succeed, the rewards from that round are added to their prize basket and the challenge continues or you can choose to collect the content of their prize basket and end their run (earning you the prizes)

TIP: You don’t always have to try and make it to the end of a challenge, you can play it safe and end their run to get the content of the prize basket rather than losing it on your next attempt

If they fail, they get the option to either take a consolation prize or ask for Patty’s help to fix their dessert (which costs simcash, the amount varies depending on which round you fail on) If Patty fixes the dessert your sim can continue the challenge.

Can I see if they are likely to succeed or not? Yes, at the bottom of your screen while completing the challenge you will see your success chance, you will also see this when you click Bake it!:

How often can I do the Sweet Treat Challenge? You can store up 3 attempts which means you can do 3 challenges in a row (if you succeed on a round you continue, if you fail this counts as an attempt so if you failed 3 times in a row you will need to wait) and then you will have to wait 8 hours for another attempt.

How can I improve my chances of winning a round? Your sims can complete prep actions around the bakery location, these will show how much they will boost your chance of success, you can complete these actions until you are confident to attempt the ‘Bake it!’ option.

Other prep actions give rewards such as Sweet Treat Tokens, Royal Treat Tokens, Fashion Gems, Life Tickets or Simoleons- these rewards can’t be claimed right away though, these will go into your prize basket so you have to win a challenge or claim them after a round.

What are sugar cubes for? Sugar cubes are like energy, these are required for the prep actions. Your sim gets a full bar of sugar cubes at the beginning of each challenge but it doesn’t refill over time or at the start of a round. You can purchase more sugar cubes for simcash and some prep actions award sugar cubes.

How do I collect the rewards from my prize basket? The contents of your prize basket can be claimed by winning a round and select ‘collect and quit’ or you will automatically claim the prize basket if you win the final round of a challenge.

What do I spend my prize basket tokens on? You can buy prize boxes with these, there are two prizes boxes the Sweet Treat Box or Royal Treat Box, you can find these in the rewards tab of the event button:

How do I open the prize boxes in the Sweet Treat Showdown? There are two prize boxes the Sweet Treat Box which can be opened with Sweet Treat Tokens and there are a certain amount of prizes to collect and the Royal Treat Box which can be opened with Royal Treat Tokens, there are a certain amount prizes to collect from that box (the amount of tokens needed to open the boxes and amount of prizes available varies depending on each event):

PRIZES ARE DIFFERENT FOR EVERY EVENT, CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THE PRIZES AVAILABLE

Can I get duplicates from the prize boxes? No these boxes don’t give duplicates (yay!) so once you have a prize you won’t get it again- you can also buy multiples from buy mode once unlocked

How do I earn Sweet Treat Tokens and Royal Treat Tokens? You can earn these by completing the Sweet Treat Challenge or other events in the ‘activities’ tab of the Sweet Treat Showdown screen (button in the top right)

How do I earn the grand prize? You can earn the grand prize once you have earned all the prizes within the Sweet Treat and Royal Treat Boxes (you can see your progress on the Sweet Treat Showdown screen)

PRIZES ARE DIFFERENT FOR EVERY EVENT, CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THE PRIZES AVAILABLE

I don’t want to finish a Sweet Treat Challenge how do I stop it? If you click on the ‘view’ button next to your sims picture you will see the option to forfeit so you will earn the consolation prize. I would suggest you just click ‘Bake it!’ as you might win and be able to collect your prize basket but if you fail you still get the consolation prize:

Recent Changes:

  • You can now purchase the Pro Ticket for real money every time there is a new Sweet Treat Event:

    • Comes with access to the Pro Mixer which has ‘better actions’ but only on rounds 1,3,5,7,9,10 (so you can earn more % and tokens than the normal actions)
    • You will get 6 extra sugar cubes for each challenge (so 36 in total)- if you purchase mid challenge you will get an automatic refill
    • Stores up to 6 attempts (so you can complete 6 challenges in a row)- if you purchase mid challenge you will get an automatic refill
    • Get 25 Royal Treat Tokens and 1,200 Sweet Treat Tokens extra

This only lasts for one Sweet Treat Event so if you wanted these perks every time you would have to purchase it each time a new event becomes available.

  • You can now watch adverts using the knife block on the sweet treat bench:

Watching adverts can:

    • Give you extra rewards in your prize basket
    • Give you an extra chance in that round

You can only watch one advert per round but they seem to appear every round

The Sims Freeplay- SimChase

Early Access to Beta Provided by EA/ Firemonkeys (Presented by EA GameChangers)

SimChase is a TV game show styled event where over the course of 7 days your sim is tasked with completing a set of daily challenges to reach a checkpoint and win a checkpoint prize but be quick as you are competing against a rival sim and if they reach the checkpoint before you they will win the checkpoint prize. Find out if it is possible to complete a SimChase here

Want to skip to the prizes for each season? Click here

When a SimChase event begins a pop up will appear:

You will then need to check in at the nightclub with the SimChase host Kam Ham (click on the SimChase symbol that appears above his head):

Go to SimChase menu- from the active tasks tab you will find the SimChase goal, click on this to open the goal and then click on the blue SimChase symbol that appears next to the goal to get to the SimChase menu:

Here you will see a bar at the top with your sim and the rival sims progress and it also shows you the prizes for each episode (there are 7 episodes to complete, one episode a day):

Scroll down and you will see the challenges you need to complete for that episode:

I’m not going to post about the challenges as they may be different for you and they will be different for each season but if you are stuck look for the SimChase symbol on objects around your sims house:

Complete all the challenges on the list in a day, remember:

  • You can complete them in any order but you have to complete one at a time, once you start a SimChase challenge you need to complete it before you can start another one
  • If more than one sim is required to complete a challenge make sure you use as many as possible to complete it as quickly as possible
  • If you want to speed up with SP check the SimChase menu first and see how much it will cost you to skip a challenge or the whole episode as it may be cheaper than speeding up the task (you can only skip a challenge once you have started it)

  • All the Mastery tasks require you to send a sim to the park and click on the sim with the SimChase symbol above their head- these tasks cost simoleons or SP to begin (waste of money if you ask me!!)

TIP: if you are planning on using SP for the Mastery task, leave it until last and then check how much it will cost to skip from the menu as it may be cheaper than the SP cost in the park!

  • If you want to get the prize you need to complete all the challenges in an episode before the rival sim (the rival sim doesn’t appear to be a real player so it is going to be very difficult to complete before them as they don’t need to go to work/school or sleep!)
  • If you manage to complete an episode you either win a prize or a chase token:

Watch me completing a SimChase season here:

Chase tokens are used on the second tab in the SimChase menu to spin for roadblocks so you can progress faster or you can throw obstacles in the way of your rival sim to slow them down:

These roadblocks cannot be used against you, they can only be used on the rival sim

The third tab explains what all the different symbols mean:

SimChase Frequently Asked Questions:

How do I start SimChase? SimChase will start automatically and is only available for a limited amount of time so there won’t always be one available in the game

Where is the SimChase event menu? The SimChase menu is accessed via the active tasks. Tap the blue SimChase icon next to the SimChase task to open the menu

What is the bar at the top of the SimChase menu? That is the progress bar and it shows your sim and your rival’s progress through the SimChase event, completing challenges makes you progress on the bar

Who is the other sim at the top of the progress bar? That is the rival who your sim is competing against. They aren’t a real player but if they reach the checkpoint first they will earn the prize not you and you will need to try and catch up to win the next prize, obviously because they aren’t real they make regular progress whereas we have real life to deal with too!

What does the circle next to the rival’s portrait mean? The circle is a timer that displays how close they are to finishing their current challenge. The grey part on the progress bar shows how much they will progress when they finish that challenge

What prizes do I earn if I win? Chase tokens are always a prize for completing some episodes but the main prizes will vary by Season, you can see on the progress bar the prize you will win for reaching each checkpoint but remember you will have to reach the checkpoint before the rival otherwise they will get the prize instead of you (see below for more information on the prizes)

If I lose an episode do I have to complete the rest of the challenges that day or do I go straight onto the next day? You will have to complete all the challenges on the previous day before you can move onto the next day so really you have no chance of completing this without hundreds of SP if you are behind

If I don’t use up all my chase tokens before the event is over can I use them next time? No, the next time a SimChase Season begins you will start with zero chase tokens again

What happens when a simchase event returns, do I have to start again? If you started it before but didn’t finish it you will start from the beginning, if you unlocked any of the prizes before you will earn a free one of each in buy mode or if it is a create a sim item you will earn a social point replacement (as they are already free)

Where is the map in the park? The map is on the toilet in the park:

I found it incredibly difficult to write this post as I do not like the idea of SimChase events at all, they are just a complete money grab in my opinion. I completed this on the early access version and I am not even going to try and complete it on my actual game because it is just set up to make us fail unless we spend hundreds of SP! I added up the times for completing episode 7 and it would have taken me 23 hours without SP which is alright for the rival as they don’t need to sleep!! The mastery tasks are what annoys me the most, why should I pay thousands of simoleons or SP to be allowed to complete a challenge? I know they need to make money but they are becoming as bad as The Sims Mobile with their money grabbing actions, being forced to spend money does not make anyone want to spend money!
