THIS IS A PREVIOUS UPDATE, THE SIMS MOBILE HAS BEEN UPDATED SINCE THIS POST WAS WRITTEN
The latest Sims Mobile update (coming out 3rd February) is bringing day and night to our sims houses!
Day and Night Cycle
We can now set to always day, always night or day/night cycle in settings
This is just available on home lots for now so places like downtown or parkside won’t change
Lights Are Now Functional
We can now tap on lights to turn them on and off as well as turning on and off all lights from one light. Lights can also be set to automatic so they change with the day/night cycle
Transparent Windows
Transparent windows are now available to make the most of day and night
New Premium House Lot
1 Landgraab Avenue is now available to build in Briny Heights from level 18 for S500,000 with a 7 day wait to build (or build for 1,000 SimCash without having to wait) The cost amount doesn’t change.
The lot is 50×30 (regular lots are only 30×30)
This lot comes with two fountains, one is permanent and cannot be moved but the other can be stored and placed on another house lot if you wanted:
Sweet Treat Showdown Changes
You can now watch adverts using the knife block on the sweet treat bench:
Watching adverts can:
Give you extra rewards in your prize basket
Give you an extra chance in that round
You can only watch one advert per round but they seem to appear every round
The Sweet Treat Pro Ticket can be purchased with real money during a Sweet Treat Event for an advantage:
Comes with access to the Pro Mixer which has ‘better actions’ but only on rounds 1,3,5,7,9,10 (so you can earn more % and tokens than the normal actions)
You will get 6 extra sugar cubes for each challenge (so 36 in total)- if you purchase mid challenge you will get an automatic refill
Stores up to 6 attempts (so you can complete 6 challenges in a row)- if you purchase mid challenge you will get an automatic refill
Get 25 Royal Treat Tokens and 1,200 Sweet Treat Tokens extra
This only lasts for one Sweet Treat Event so if you wanted these perks every time you would have to purchase it each time a new event becomes available. This is a complete money grab in my opinion- just make it easy for all of us instead of making us pay!
I wasn’t really that bothered that we didn’t have day and night cycles to begin with so having a whole update for something so small is a bit of a disappointment!
In this post I share with you my top 5 wishes for The Sims Mobile in 2020, these are either things I would like to see added to the game or changed for a better gaming experience, (if you would rather watch my video version of this you can find it here) these are in no particular order:
Multi Story Houses
I see this requested all the time so I felt like this had to be included on this list, we don’t have the biggest house lots on The Sims Mobile but at least we have more than one now! I just think that building upwards would be a great way to build bigger houses once we have run out of expansions. Once we have multi stories we could get new building features such as balconies!
Subcategories in Categories
This was also in my Sims Freeplay list, the more prizes they add to the game the more cluttered it becomes when trying to build. Firemonkeys made great progress by clearing up the storage, I think they need to go a step further now and add subcategories, for example, in lighting they could have table lamps, floor lamps, ceiling lights etc. They don’t have as many items as they do in The Sims Freeplay yet but it would be great if they could sort this before it became an issue and it could be a bigger issue than Freeplay as nothing is really in order (lamps, ceiling lights and wall lights are grouped together is Freeplay but this isn’t the case with Mobile)
Screenshot/Camera Mode
You may have already seen this on our Sims Mobile GameChangers collaboration list of our top improvements and features we would like to see this year, mine was Screenshot/Camera Mode: We can create amazing builds or stories in The Sims Mobile but at the moment we can’t create amazing screenshots! It is so hard to share the content you’re proud of with the rest of the community without everything on the screen getting in the way. A camera/screenshot mode would mean we can spend less time cropping out the UI or trying to get the perfect clutter free angle and give us more time to create, share and inspire.
Up/Down Walls Button
I have forgotten what most of my interior walls look like in my sims houses- it would be great if we could see them! This would also improve screenshots as we will be able to photograph one room at a time rather than the whole house.
Different Events
This was also on my Sims Freeplay list. Firemonkeys are very good at repeating the same style of events to make it convenient for them but boring for the players.
Wumples Wishlists might be okay if they shortened them or made it worthwhile, right now the amount of prizes for how much work it takes really isn’t worth it. It would be better if we got a prize for each chapter we complete then if you don’t manage to complete it you can still feel like you got something out of it rather than wasting 5 days to get nothing. Sweet Treat Showdowns have great prizes and I love that you no longer get duplicates but they require too many resources, at least add an option to watch an advert to get more sugar cubes.
This is only my top 5- I know there are many more things we need (get rid of Surprising Choices and LlamaZoom for a start!) but great progress has been made since Firemonkeys took over from Maxis so let’s hope it continues this year.
What are your wishes for The Sims Mobile this year?
Everything has got so expensive recently! When was the last time we could buy a live event prize for less than S10,000? We could when they were first added (French Romance Live Event) but recently the prices have skyrocketed! We do get one for free but that doesn’t mean we should then have to spend silly amounts to get another.
I know their logic behind this is if they bump up the prices then we will have to buy simoleons with real money- the problem is, it doesn’t work as it angers most players so we end up spending less money or even nothing on the game.
More Clutter Items
If you’ve watched some of my house tour videos on YouTube you know I love those kinds of items, they make a house look like a home- like someone actually lives there. They have started adding these types of items in live events which is great but we need more and they need to be available for everyone without completing events or quests and back to my first wish- they need to be affordable.
Subcategories in Categories
It is great that we have had loads of new events with lots of prizes but it has caused buy mode to become a bit of a mess! I spend more time scrolling through the catalogue rather than building. If we had subcategories, for example, in living room section we could have sofa, bookcases and coffee table tabs, we could easily find the item we wanted to use. Decorations is by far the worst tab, I’m not sure where every item would fit so we would probably need a miscellaneous tab too but we could have subcategories like paintings, mirrors, plants and table decorations to make building more enjoyable- spending 5 minutes scrolling to the end of a section to find a certain item really takes the fun out of it!
New Easier Events
I am so over live events, you know I have never really liked them, I put up with them because most of the prizes are gorgeous but I can never complete them on time! I used to set timers every 2 hours 30 minutes even when I slept but I gave up with that and stick to daytime now- it is meant to be a game after all, it is not much fun if you lose sleep over it! Even if they just reduced the amount of glassware needed or give us another glassware station that would really help.
As a long time player it is so boring having the same types of events constantly repeating. It may be easy for the developers to program live events and the dreaded SimChase but they aren’t interesting for the players to complete- collecting arts and craft items for 10 days straight every update and still not completing in time is really disheartening, no wonder lots of people have stopped playing!
We need new events and quests but they need to make them possible to complete in time- the makers should be testing these events themselves before they release them to make sure they are doable and then they would see that it’s impossible to complete events that require us to have more than 24 hours in a day!
When I saw the downtown developer event I was really excited to see something different but then I started it and my heart sank because again it is impossible! The glitches really don’t help but even without them they seem to have forgotten the golden rule again- there are only 24 hours in a day Firemonkeys!!
They just want us to buy social points to complete these and in my opinion that is wrong- for starters it’s wrong that we now have to skip so much with SP, probably because it is so easy to make LP by completing the cooking hobby but it’s harder to make SP so people are more likely to buy them. I have no problem with players spending money on the game, of course they need to make money and I buy items myself from the online store but most players spend money when they are enjoying the game- not when they are feeling pressured to do so. Money grabs don’t work- you don’t get players to spend money by making everything impossible to complete, it drives them away.
I think we need to go back to good old fashion quests, not the ones where you have to wait between days though like back to the wall!
Sell Multiples Button
We currently can sell one item at a time but it would save a lot of time if we could ‘sell all’ or select the amount we want to sell in case we wanted to keep a few and sell the rest.
Different Shaped Rooms
We can add door frames already to make it looks like it’s one room but it would be better if we could just build any shaped room. This seems to be one feature The Sims Mobile has already but strangely lacking from Freeplay.
I had no idea what to call this but I would like to be able to place items where I want and this isn’t always possible, some items can’t be placed on a wall if there is something on the floor in front of that wall and vice versa. They have improved this so we can now have doors next to walls but I think there is still a way to go, we still can’t place most items on walls directly next to doors but we can place the same item on top of some pictures which doesn’t make a lot of sense!
Remove SimChase
I couldn’t create a wishlist without this, SimChase is the worst addition to the game ever in my opinion. I’ve given the makers feedback about this but they just don’t seem to care. The fact that you are completing against a computer is the biggest issue for me, if we were playing against another player who also sleeps and has a life outside of the game it would be less one sided, the hours also don’t always add up (over 24 hours again!) and the paying tasks are too expensive.
Unfortunately the makers aren’t listening, they won’t even make significant changes to it so they need to just get rid of it. I don’t even bother trying to complete them, I know I won’t be able to so what is the point? I’m not the only one who feels this way, we would rather not complete something than waste money on something that they have purposely made impossible so how exactly does this method make them money?
I could probably go on forever with this list but I think I will stop there! My biggest hope is that they will start listening to us again, they used to be so good at changing things based on our feedback but it is like they don’t care anymore, since The Sims Mobile has come along it is like they have got themselves a shiny new toy and Freeplay has been left to gather dust, forgotten about. As long as they are taking our money they don’t care what we think and if they keep going like this they won’t be here in 2021.
What are your wishes for The Sims Freeplay this year?

This takes you to the prize progress tab (you can get to it by clicking on the button in the corner of the screen)
Here you will see you have collected enough items to unlock the Varnished Walnut Floor pack! When you unlock each pack, before the items are available in your home store you need to purchase them with the arts and crafts items you make- this goal is coming up!
Restock a crafting station (when the stock runs out you will have to restock before you can make anymore arts and crafts items)- You can restock instantly for 18 uses for 10SP or restock for 2 uses which will take 10 seconds this time
Buy the Varnished Walnut Floor pack (click on the event button, scroll down and click purchase- this will cost you 50 candles)

Continue collecting arts and crafts items- this is the last step but the event is not over, keep collecting the arts and crafts to unlock everything!
If you want to speed up a collecting arts and crafts action it will cost you SPs, you will get the bonus arts and craft items as well if you speed it up!

This house can be found under the driveway homes tab and built on a standard or premium residence, the first one is free then they cost simoleons depending on how many houses you have already built. There are already 3 sports cars on the driveway (but you can still purchase the final car parking space for S1,500,000 to add 4 cars to this house)
Once you purchase the final space you will be able to add another car but you need to have 4 adult/senior sims living in this house to add the fourth car otherwise it will just switch their car to the new one you have just brought.
This house is very different on a standard and a premium residence! As you can see below the premium is double the size of the standard (the standard is sort of the premium split in half):
I’m not a fan of this house, if I managed to complete this event in the time limit I don’t think I am going to waste a spot building it. I do prefer how it looks on the premium to the standard (the standard looks a lot like a museum with all the displays!)
You also unlock:
Decorations Section: Gold (S135,000) and White (15LP) Wall Displays and Black (S625,000) and White (65LP)Jewelry Displays
Doors Section: Villa White Bifold Double (S95,000)
The 3 sports cars at the Glam Mansion can also be brought from the Car Dealership:
Pearl Purple Sports- 225LP
Luxury Black Sedan- S875,000
Red Convertible- S1,250,000
If you haven’t built the dealership yet these cars will be available once built
Watch my Glam Mansion Tour here:
Constructor Coins
You earn constructor coins by:
Personal Progress prizes
Completing Daily Goals
Coin Plant Patches
Earning Constructor Coins? Previously on these events I used social points on the Mega Spin Plant to win constructor points. I earn social points by completing the cooking hobby and earning LP, I can then turn the LP into SP using the social point plant on a normal garden patch- this was when it cost 5LP- the social point plant now costs 20LP so you may want to try the option below first instead:
Or you can use 450 candles for the Spin Plant (a good way to use up any spare candles) which will also earn you constructor coins but the amounts are less than they are from the Mega Spin Plant
What is the minimum and maximum amount of coins you can earn on the mega spin plant? The minimum is 10 and the maximum is 500
Now on the coin flower patch you can see the chances of getting the different combinations on each spin plant, click on the green i button to see:
Laura Craft? You may have noticed at the front of one of your houses there is a board with a bubble of a person holding arts and crafts items above it, this is Laura Craft, you can buy her for real money to help you complete the event. When you buy her, you select the item you want her to make from the options: 200 candles, 300 pottery, 450 jewelry or 500 glassware (the amounts seem to differ for most of you and I have no idea why that is!) (you will unlock all the options once you have unlocked all the stations) and you will be able to collect them after 2 hours.
Do I think she is worth it? They have improved Laura Craft a lot since the first event (although it would be great if she made constructor coins) she used to be able to collect every 8 hours, they have now changed this to 2 hours so she is more useful now so if you are struggling then you may want to splash out and give her a try but remember you will only get her for this event, you will have to buy her again to use her for a live event in the future. I personally don’t ever buy her, if I don’t manage to earn enough items or coins in the time limit I just wait until the next time the event is available!
If I brought Laura Craft in the last event do I get her for free or do I have to buy her again? You have to buy her again for this event.
THIS IS A PREVIOUS UPDATE, THE SIMS MOBILE HAS BEEN UPDATED SINCE THIS POST WAS WRITTEN
The latest Sims Mobile update (coming out 26th November) is adding 3 new house lots to the game, perfect for players who love to build and decorate houses but hate demolishing them (like me!)
New Town Map
The map looks slightly different, there is no longer the house location, instead there is a house button in the right corner to take you to all the house lots:
Building A New House Lot
Once you reach level 18 you will unlock the 3 new house lots in Briny Heights, the price to build each lot varies (it increases each time you build one):
2nd lot- costs S40,000 and takes 8 hours to build (but can spend 250 simcash to build instantly instead)
3rd lot- costs S100,000 and takes 2 days to build (but can spend 500 simcash to build instantly instead)
4th lot- costs S250,000 and takes 7 days to build (but can spend 750 simcash to build instantly instead)
You will be able to add 12 sims to each house but you still can only have 4 playable sims in total, I really think they should make it possible to change who your playable sim is without having to delete current playable sims from the game
Moving Sims
In Briny Heights when you click on a house you can see all the sims who live there, click go there to visit the house or click on a sim and then on a different house to move them to that house- you can even move out children to live on their own!
Family Portrait
You can now buy more family portraits in the wall decorations section to place in each house. When you click on the portrait you will see each household, click on the arrow to scroll through the households (playable sims will have the plumbob above their head)
You will see previous generations via a button in the corner of this screen but this isn’t separate for each household so you will see all your previous sims here
You can also see the family portrait by clicking on the house name in Briny Heights
Parties
Parties can only be hosted in the original house so make sure you have any party items you want your friends to use in this house
What else is new?
There is no longer the move out option when sims are retired, it is now just delete to avoid confusion
There is no longer a limit/count on objects in build and buy
Energy boosting items don’t need to be in every house, placing in one still gets the benefits in all houses!
I am so glad we can now build more than one house in the game! I haven’t changed my original house for so long as I don’t want to delete it but now I don’t have to! I would have liked to see more than 4 playable sims but I can see why it would be difficult to change that, hopefully in the future there will be an option to at least change which of our sims are playable and I would love to see more neighbourhoods with different themes and new themed items to go with them.
