The Sims Freeplay- Hobbies: Fishing

FISHING ROD – ADULT AND SENIOR SIMS – PRIZES: FISHERSIM OUTFIT, WALLPAPER, POSTERS AND LP

Adults and seniors can fish using the fishing rod at the park (and at the campgrounds and beach when you build those places)

Only 1 sim can fish at a time using each fishing rod so if you only have the park then only one sim can fish, if you have the park and campgrounds built then 2 sims can fish.

Once you have brought your sim to the park/ campgrounds/ beach, click on the fishing rod and select one of the options:

  • Go Fishing- 10 minutes
  • Unwind- 1 hour
  • Settle In- 9 hours
  • 24 Hour Fishathon- 1 day

After the time has passed come back and click the exclamation mark above your sims head, your sim will either catch a fish or will be caught by a giant fish- you will need to click on the exclamation mark 3 times when the fish jumps to be spat out:

If you don’t manage to click 3 times the fish will still spit out your sim and disappear but you will not earn a fish for the collection.

TIP: senior sims will not be caught by the giant fish

If your sim just catches a fish or you save them from the giant fish you will earn a fish collectible. Every time you complete one of the 4 fishing options above your fishing hobby skill level up percentage will increase, once you reach 100% you will level up, there are 8 levels. You need to reach level 8 to be able to unlock all of the fish collectibles, once unlocked you will be able to find them.

The table below shows the level up percentage for each option:

This may change in future updates

 LEVEL  10 minutes 1 hour 9 hours 1 day
1-2 3% 20% 180% 480%
2-3 1% 12% 108% 288%
3-4 1% 10% 90% 240%
4-5 1% 8% 72% 192%
5-6 4% 36% 96%
6-7 3% 32% 86%
7-8 3% 27% 72%

For example you could do the day option once, the 9 hour option once and then the 1 hour option to reach level 8 from level 7

NOTE: it says 240% but you will start from 0% at level 4

The next table shows you for each level what fish collectibles you unlock (so you can then find those ones too) and also the level up reward that a second and future sims will receive when they level up in this hobby:

LEVEL  TITLE 1st TIME LEVEL UP UNLOCKS 2nd+ TIMES LEVEL UP REWARD
1 Fish Bait Brown Trout, Pink Cichlid and Carp are unlocked in the hobby collection
2 Amateur Brown Mukluk is now unlocked in the hobby collection 250XP
3 Intermediate Spotted Koi and Salmon are now unlocked in the hobby collection 500XP
4 Master Baiter Blue Cichlid and Elmer Wand are now unlocked in the hobby collection S750
5 Fishing Pro Golden Koi and Rainbow Trout are now unlocked in the hobby collection 10,000 Town Value
6 Fish Whisperer Jewel Cichlid and Crab de Can are now unlocked in the hobby collection. 1LP
7 Mutant Wrangler Polo Perch, Aaron Pinkskin and Blue Saulmon are now unlocked in the hobby collection 2LP
8 The Fish Master Gustavo Finn, Hank Scharker and Hi-Sim-Berg are now unlocked in the hobby collection

You can now complete the collection!

3LP

NOTE: only the first sim completing this hobby needs to get to level 8 to unlock all the collectibles, future sims will be able to find any collectible even if they are only on level 1 in this hobby (and they can do the shortest option to try and find the collectibles quicker!)

You won’t find a new collectible each time, you will get repeats, if this happens just keep going, you will find them eventually! If it is still taking too long you can use the lucky spin on the row where you cannot find the item, this will cost LPs, when you click on the LP button it will clear the row and give you a random collectible on that row so you aren’t guaranteed a new item (you will get back any other collectibles you already had in that row) Need to earn some LPs to use the lucky spin?

The completed fishing collection is shown below, once you complete the collection you need to click ‘start a new collection’ at the top of the hobby collection screen, this clears the board so you can complete the collection again to earn more rewards (you will only get the option to restart the hobby collection when you have completed the collection):

You will earn XPs when you complete a row in the hobby but to complete the collection you need to find all 18 of the collectibles

The rewards for completing this collection are fishersim outfit, wallpaper, posters and 3LP:

  • The first time you complete the collection you unlock the fishersim outfit which can be found in the wardrobe once you have built the costume and swim store

  • The second time you unlock fish wallpaper and posters

  • From the third time onwards each time you complete the collection you will earn 3LP

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS QUEST

please read before asking

I have missed this quest! Why can’t I start it yet?
You cannot miss main quests they have to be completed in order. You need to complete all previous quests (list can be found here) and reach level 10 before you can start this quest

Can I complete this quest even though I have passed level 10?
Yes, you just need to complete all previous quests then this quest will start automatically

How do I download bridge schematics on a computer?
Buy a computer in the game and select the option

Why do blue footprints appear when I try to use an item?
Blue footprints appear when your sim cannot access an item you want them to use, you need to either rotate the item or move an item that has been placed in front of it so they can use it

What do you mean when you say a goal can be started early?
Any goal that you can normally do can be started early because you will have access to it and any goal that you can’t normally do you will have to wait until you get the goal to be able to complete it
The tip with this method is to put the sim doing that action early in a different house that you cannot go to until you get that goal or it will not work

I can’t afford the mysterious bridge, how can I earn more simoleons?
This post may help

Can I build the bridge early?
No, you cannot build the bridge until you get the goal in this quest

What do I get if I complete this quest in the time limit?
The sentinel replica

What happens if I don’t complete in the time limit, can I still finish this quest?
Yes you have to finish it to unlock the mysterious island before you can move onto the next quest

I didn’t complete in the time limit, can I restart the quest?
No, you cannot redo quests

Can I still get the prize if I don’t complete in the time limit?
No, the only way to get the limited time prizes is by completing the quest in the time limit

I don’t like this quest! Can I just skip it?
No, you have to complete this quest before you can move onto the next one

Some times are slightly different on my game, why is this?
Times may vary depending on the star rating of the item you are using, as the higher star rating an item has the quicker you will complete a goal

Some times are really off/ different goals show for me, why is this?
This will be because the quest has been updated recently, I try my best to keep these posts up to date but it is difficult as I cannot redo every quest each time the game is updated. If you notice any changes please let me know so I can update the post

Have you posted about the monuments yet?
Yes, it took me a long time but I have finally finished my monuments post, click here to read it

My game is stuck on level 10, why is this?
Once you reach level 10 your game needs to download additional content, this link explains what it is but it doesn’t say how to do it, I’m guessing your game should do it automatically. If you still can’t progress you may need to contact the makers to see if they can fix this for you.

The next quest is Raiders of the Lost Artifacts which explains all about monuments and the mysterious island

The Sims Freeplay- House Guide (Part Two)

There are lots of premade houses to buy on The Sims Freeplay, in this guide I will rate each house and give my opinion so you can see if it is worth buying!

The price and time it takes to build a house increases with every house you build
In this part I will be covering the following houses, click the links below to head straight to that part of this post:

s= can be built on a standard plot
p= can be built on a premium plot

Standard or Premium?

Once you complete the ocean view estate quest you can build houses on premium plots which are bigger.

  • Standard= 18×18
  • Premium= 36×18

NOTE: Some of the houses may have been slightly modified

Japanese Retreat- 3/5

This Japanese themed house is 1 story, I don’t really like the layout of this house and the kitchen is very thin and narrow but I like the decor as almost everything matches and the garden feature is unusual.

Cost: Simoleons, depends on how many other houses you have built so far
Floors: One
Car: No
Premium Residence: Garden decorations

Sci Fi Shuttle- 3.5/5

The Sci-Fi Shuttle is a one story house and if you love the whole futuristic, floating chairs thing you will love this! For a property that costs LP I think it is definitely worth it because most of the items in this house cost LP so it would cost you a lot more if you were to buy them separately. But I would have liked to have seen more from this house, it’s a boring shape and only consists of 3 rooms so if you were to build this you might want to add a few more rooms.

Cost: Standard 35LP, Premium 40LP
Floors: One
Car: No
Premium Residence: Trees

Neo Tokyo- 4/5

This is the perfect 1 story house for manga/anime fans! I love the cute touches in the house such as the counters with eyes and the unusual sofa, it is definitely worth spending simoleons on this house just for some of the cool stuff that is in it! I like the unusual shape to the house but I don’t like where the front door is, I would prefer it to be coming in through the kitchen.

Cost: Simoleons, depends on how many other houses you have built so far
Floors: One
Car: No
Premium Residence: Trees

Geek Heaven- 1/5

I was disappointed with this house seeing as it costs LP I was really expecting more, all the beds are the cheap ones and some of the computers are only 1 star! It’s definitely not a heaven! I’m not really sure what the point of this house is, if you want to use a computer you might as well just buy one to put into your own house. I will at least give it one star because there is potential to turn this into a nice little 1 story house.

Cost: Standard 18LP, Premium 28LP
Floors: One
Car: No
Premium Residence: Trees

Sim Cinema- 2/5

This is a small 1 story cinema to get all your sims together! It is a good size but I don’t think it needs to take up a house spot. You could turn this one into a multi screen/ floored cinema! Or you could always spend less money and just build a mini cinema into one of your houses like my one below instead of spending LP for this building!

mycinemaroom

Cost: Standard 20LP, Premium 27LP
Floors: One
Car: No
Premium Residence: Trees

Hallway House- 3/5

Despite the name there is only one hallway in this house but saying that, it is a nice house for the update (making rooms smaller than 3×3) with a small bathroom and walk in wardrobes- as I am going to call them. I really like the open plan living room and kitchen too.
Not much effort has gone into the garden on the premium residence though, it’s just garden decorations.
I think it would be better to either extend the house a bit and add a patio and maybe a swimming pool to make use of the space.

Check out my edited hallway house tour here:

Cost: Simoleons, depends on how many other houses you have built so far
Floors: One
Car: No
Premium Residence: Garden decorations

Two Story Mansion- 4/5

I really like this 2 story mansion, my favourite part is the open living room area that leads out to the pool, it’s a good sized house, perfect for a family. It can only be built on a premium residence so you have space for the pool. This house definitely feels more like a mansion, compared to the 1 story mansion! You also get a Pee Cleaner in this house (it would cost you S777,777 if you were to buy it in the store) not only does it clean up when your sims pee but it also cleans up vomit.

Cost: Simoleons, depends on how many other houses you have built so far
Floors: Two
Car: No

Note: can only be built once the multi story renovations quest has been completed

Scandinavian House- 3/5

Seeing as this house costs hundreds of SP I was really expecting more from it, I thought it would be at least a 2 story house but it’s only one, however saying that I really do like the whole layout and design of the house. I like the wooden style furniture that is throughout the house but I think they should have created some kitchen counters to match the wood colour from the rest of the house because it doesn’t go but that can be changed to something lighter. I don’t think it is worth the 250SP, I think 50-100SP would be a better price, but I would pay more if it had a second floor.

Cost: Standard 225SP, Premium 250SP
Floors: One
Car: No
Premium Residence: Comes with a long narrow pool with nice paving. A few sun loungers and trees.
