YOU NEED TO COMPLETE THE IN STITCHES QUEST BEFORE YOU CAN BEGIN THIS QUEST
Completing this quest unlocks automatic ageing so your sims can age and die as well as the ability to give your sims personalities and earn orbs to build new places; the pet park, arcade, beach and carnival. If you complete this quest in the 5 day time limit you will unlock the singing salmon which makes your sims inspired! You can still complete this quest once the time limit is up but you won’t get the singing salmon
How long does this quest take to complete?
Right now you can reverse your sims back to the beginning of their life stage for FREE so they don’t have to die if you don’t want them to!
Times may vary depending on the star rating an item has.
- Call a friend on a phone- 4 minutes
- Send invitations on a computer- 4 minutes
- Send 5 sims to snow park
- Tend the bar in the snow park (stay tending the bar for the next task)
- Order a cocktail at cabin (snow park)- 32 seconds (you can only do this task when someone is tending the bar)
- Ask Osiris about new inventions- 6 minutes 12 seconds
- Open the age controller (see steps 1 and 2 in the image below)
- Advance an adult sims age
- Send a sim to the park
- Examine the glowing orb- 1 day 20 minutes (can be found on the pier in the park)
- Give the orb to a senior (that sim will pass away during this quest)
- Open the life dreams menu (see image below)
- Choose a life dream
- Fulfil a life dream- you could get any one of these life dreams, I have included how to complete them (times may vary):
- I want to read Sci Fi books from a preteen bookshelf- 4 hours (Select Sci Fi from preteen bookshelf)
- I want to debunk theories of relativity while drinking tea- 13 hours 20 minutes (Select debunk theory of relativity on teapot)
- I want to write letters to sci fi celebrities on the computer- 7 hours 12 minutes (Letters to celebs option on computer)
- I want to get all Dr Whoozits memorabillia via the internet and send it to a museum- 11 hours 42 minutes (Select the option on a computer)
- I want to talk to tech support about computer systems on the phone- 4 hours 30 minutes (Select the option on the phone)
- I want to create an edible board game army by baking gingerbread sims- 6 hours (Bake Gingerbread on a stove)
- I want to read encyclopedias from bookshelfs- 3 hours (Select encyclopedia on a bookshelf)
- I want to argue with park statue constantly about the virtues of Dr Whoozits- 8 hours 20 minutes (Click on the thinking man statue in the park)
- I want to have many scientific breakthroughs in the bath- 9 minutes (Select the option on a bath)
- I want to strategize chess on a chessboard as often as possible-6 hours (Select the option on a chess board)
- I want to have marathon movie sessions on a TV- 8 hours (Select Movie Marathon on a TV)
- I want to tell a lot of sims all about Ms Vampire Slayer- 10 hours (requires another sim, select option)
- Have a senior ask Osiris for help- 5 minutes
- Tap on the beach, carnival, arcade or pet park on island
- Have a senior ask Osiris for help- 20 seconds
- Fulfil a life dream- (the same as you did before)
- Have a scientific breakthrough in the bath- 9 minutes
- Debunk theory of relativity while drinking tea- 10 hours 30 minutes
- Tend to garden- 1 hour (plant)
- Prepare family dinner- 6 hours (stove)
- Complete a cycle of life (goodbye senior sim!)
- Have 4 sims in one house
- Be nice to a sim- 1 minute
- Have a baby- 1 day (can be started early) (having a baby through the pregnancy event will complete this)

Hey, I was wondering if ageing is now free and if creating a new baby still cost lp?

I have had the Life Dreams and Legacies quest available to start for over a month now but don’t want to complete it because I don’t really care for it and what it does to the characters. I’ve played the game 2 times before, and I always had a hard time earning the orbs, and the quest made me honestly hate playing the game. Other than the pet park, beach, etc., am I missing out?
No, apart from the beach, arcade, pet park and carnival you aren’t missing out on anything else in the game.
how often do sims have their birthdays??
Baby- 5 days
Toddler- 7 days
Preteen- 8 days
Teen- 12 days
Adult- 24 days
Senior- 9 day
Does it mean that after 5 days the baby will grow into a toddler,
and so on?

I completed the quest.. now everyone is getting older. Can I undo something? I dont have orbs to pause their age but besides restarting the game how can I stop this?
Unfortunately now they are ageing you will be unable to stop it without orbs, sorry about that!
If I don’t think I can’t get enough platinum orbs, and my sims died can I still remake the sim all over again after they die? Or I can’t remake any sims? Just wondering because I basically love ALL my sims. I really don’t want to lose any of them or make them old. And I don’t think I can get enough platinum orbs. BTW, I love your blog!!!!! You can remake your sims as many times as you need to while you are earning the platinum orbs you need to pause them.

The quest asks me to have a baby, how do i do it?
You had to have a baby in the two and a half sims quest, its the same for this quest. Place a crib in the house of a married couple, click to add a baby and wait for the baby to arrive, click again when it arrives to customise the baby and complete the goal.
I cant have a baby at the end of dreams and legacies quest . i already place the crib in my married sims house. What should i do ?
You need to place the crib in a house of a married couple that doesn’t already have two children as you can only have 4 sims living in a house at one time. If you are at your sim count limit for that level you will also not be able to add another sim until you level up.
I finished the quest (thanks to this) and now I can’t add new sims because the add sim button is grey!
You are at your sim count, you need to wait until you level up to be able to add another sim.
I finished my toddlers life dream but the advance to next age button is not there and it says complete your sims life dreams. The only way for my toddler to age up if for me to wait or use 2 lps.
You can’t have completed that toddlers life dream then.
Hi… If I avoid doing this quest will my game also avoid the ageing process… hence I can just keep my sims as I want? Is it such a bad idea not to do this quest? I sometimes wish there was a break in having to do quests and discoveries so I can simply take a few days to do what I want instead of having to do something specific, or go crazy trying to make deadlines etc.

Yes, your sims will only start ageing when this quest begins so if you do not start this quest your sims will not age.
It’s really up to you, it’s not a bad idea if you don’t want your sims to age.

I already have the singing bass, what happens if I don’t finish the quest in time?
You don’t unlock the singing salon to buy for each of your houses.
I read somewhere the automatic aging happens at a particular step during the dreams and legacies quest, not when it automatically begins upon completion of In Stitches. Is this true? I’d like to complete the previous quest and avoid the aging. Do I need to avoid completing the In Stitches quest and thus not get the quilt making hobby? So confused!

It depends, they often change it when they update the game, sometimes it starts when you begin the quest, other times it begins when you reach the advance an adult sim stage so I always recommend not finishing the previous quest because even if it does happen at the moment when you reach a certain goal in that quest you cannot guarantee that it will stay like that, they may put it back to ageing starting when you begin the quest so your sims will start to age.

I think I’ll make the jump down the line when I complete all the discovery quests and have all my buildings built…maybe. lol… I’m level 38 and I still have the salsa and basement ones to do, and buildings to build. This is my first time playing this far into the game and I really wish Id never started this quest! I have an entire headcannon built around my town and every house was built specifically for the family and each simple has a well thought out story and personality in my head! And now they’re all gonna die! I was so excited to not have any more quests in my queue but I should’ve read about this quest before I started it. 😦
That’s a shame 😦 you can earn platinum orbs and recreate all those sims again though and they will be paused forever, it will take a long time but at least you can get them back!

You will need to get a platinum orb for each of your sims to pause their life.
Will My Sims Still Age If I Don’t play the game for a month ?? I mean How Odd it will Be To Just Create a Baby sim and just leave the game idle for a couple of months and when you return,he’s dead !! How do I have a baby? I already have a crib it doesn’t show me the add baby blurb. I don’t know if its because my Sims already have two teenagers or because of something else,
You cannot add another baby to that house as you already have 4 sims living in that house, you will need to get another couple married and add the baby to that house.
I think I am gonna complete all the discovery quests first and expand my town before I start this quest. I imagine community events are gonna be a bit more of a pain after completing this quest. Since you’d have to do all the tasks for that for that in the sim aging time limit.

Hi, how does the aging work with the professional workplaces? It’s taken me forever to try and upgrade them. If my sims age automatically will I still be able to get the items needed to keep upgrading the workplaces? Or will I have to have new sims start at the very beginning?
I would recommend earning some platinum orbs to pause your sims so they can reach the highest levels in the profession careers otherwise you aren’t going to get anywhere as they will have to keep restarting unless you use loads of LPs to reverse them!

I was counting how many times you need to do an action in order to get an orb
I found that make fan made movies I had to do 17 times before it asks me to age to senior when I am going for a bronze but I had to do the action 34 times before it asked when going for a platinum. Is this normal? Why is it making me do the action more and more?

It takes longer to upgrade to a platinum orb than it does a bronze so you have to do the life dream more.

I’m not going to do this quest and I am attached to all of my sims. Am I allowed to do that if so can you cancel a quest with out getting the end prize
You cannot cancel a quest but you can leave it unfinished, I would recommend you stay on the quest before this one though just to make sure your sims do not start ageing.
How do i avoid this quest?
The only way is to stay on the quest before this one, otherwise your sims will age.

An idea I had is to make a graveyard-like lot and fill it with the life orbs from dead sims. If you completed the Ghost Hunters quest in time, I’d suggest building it on that lot, since it has a graveyard at the back.
If I have multi singing salmons and only use one of them to inspire, do I have to wait for (the) singing salmon to recharge alone or do I have to wait for all of them to recharge?
You have only got to wait for that one to recharge so you could buy one for every sim and then you won’t need to wait 30 minutes for the one you have just used to recharge!

So just so I understand correctly now that I’ve started my sims will start to age? Also how long does the LP keep them from aging? And last can you buy the orbs with real money to stop them from aging I worked to hard and yes put ALOT of real money into this game to just let it all go. Yes your sims will start to age automatically now (sometimes they start to age at the beginning of this quest, sometimes they only start when you reach the advance an adult sim goal but this changes a lot!)

Yeah, it’s just not there on my game. I’ve looked everywhere else on my map as well.
Its not on your map, it will either be in with your simtracker or in the menu that contains all your career, hobby and relationship information depending on the device you are playing on.
Is it true that now we can stop ageing to next phase of life without using lp? I didn’t complete in stitches quest to avoid ageing and death.. if now we can stop ageing for free I can carry on with my quests 🙂

I used a platinum life orb to pause a preteen, do I have to use another one after if I decide to advance her to a teen with the age controller or use a birthday cake on her?
If you advance her she will still be paused so you won’t have to use another orb.

Yes, when sims die your sim count will go down so you can add a new sim in their place, exactly the same sim if you want to!
If you don’t fulfil their life dreams then you will not earn an orb when they die, they will still die.

What happens if just before you complete the cycle of sim(in the task) you reset that sim’s age back to the start point? Does that mean you have to fill up the hours again to finish that task?
Yes, you will have to fill up the circle again but you don’t need to restart them back to the beginning of that life stage if you don’t want to. Okay everytime i complete a quest the next just automatically starts…but i don’t want to do the life and legacy quest because they will die…so if it starts automatically after completing the sticthing quest will they beginning to age die even if im not doing the quest
Yes they will, you will need to stay on the in stiches quest and not complete it so your sims don’t age.
how early can i start having a baby? can i do it at the very start, but wait until i reach that quest to add baby sim ?
You can start it at any point during this quest but you have to stay away from that house until you get the goal to add a baby then you can go to the house and click on the crib to add the baby to the town.

Hi there, sorry if this has already posted, don’t get how to work this site, two things
A) if a child is left without parents (i started the add baby process to the sims family that will die) will another sim be able to adopt it e.g. a sims older sibling who’s in the adult stage.
B) are you still able to refresh the progress, and is there a limit as to how many of these you can do before it starts costing
Welcome! Yes, once the parents pass on your baby sim can be adopted by another couple, if their older sibling lives in the same house they won’t need to adopt them as they will already be living together.

As of the latest update this is still free. I don’t mind the life dreams, when it first came out I didn’t want my sims to die but you get used to the new feature and can recreate sims using platinum orbs and pause them forever or just reversing them for free which does help!

If you haven’t started this quest yet then you will not be able to complete this task yet, once you reach the goal in this quest you will be able to do this.

Are you using the sim that you gave the life dream to? You will only find the option on the tea pot with that sim.

You have to age an adult to a senior during this quest but you don’t need one to start this quest.
Hi I just reached the part where I have to presss the button to start the machine, but I can’t find any button anywhere! Came on this blog-go to place for sims btw- and I’ve realised what completing this quest entails! I’m glad I read before I finished the “age a sim” part. Though I’d still like to know why I can’t see the button. Hope there’s no update and my sims don’t age.

I apologize if this has been answered, I tried to look. I had to age another sim for this quest which made him a senior. I do not see the option to change him back to an adult. Is that possible to do? I already had a senior sim from the seniors quest, I didn’t want to age this one yet. I thought we could change them back since it just wanted us to see how it was done.

I had a baby already at the time it asked me to have a baby. Since it didn’t automatically accept it I turned that baby to toddler and then tried to have a new baby with a different couple. But no go. Help
Have you already reached your sim count for that level? If so you will need to delete a sim you already have so you can add the baby or wait until you level up. Also make sure the couple you are trying to add the baby to are married and there isn’t already 4 sims living in that house.
