YOU NEED TO COMPLETE THE IN STITCHES QUEST BEFORE YOU CAN BEGIN THIS QUEST
Completing this quest unlocks automatic ageing so your sims can age and die as well as the ability to give your sims personalities and earn orbs to build new places; the pet park, arcade, beach and carnival. If you complete this quest in the 5 day time limit you will unlock the singing salmon which makes your sims inspired! You can still complete this quest once the time limit is up but you won’t get the singing salmon
How long does this quest take to complete?
Right now you can reverse your sims back to the beginning of their life stage for FREE so they don’t have to die if you don’t want them to!
Times may vary depending on the star rating an item has.
- Call a friend on a phone- 4 minutes
- Send invitations on a computer- 4 minutes
- Send 5 sims to snow park
- Tend the bar in the snow park (stay tending the bar for the next task)
- Order a cocktail at cabin (snow park)- 32 seconds (you can only do this task when someone is tending the bar)
- Ask Osiris about new inventions- 6 minutes 12 seconds
- Open the age controller (see steps 1 and 2 in the image below)
- Advance an adult sims age
- Send a sim to the park
- Examine the glowing orb- 1 day 20 minutes (can be found on the pier in the park)
- Give the orb to a senior (that sim will pass away during this quest)
- Open the life dreams menu (see image below)
- Choose a life dream
- Fulfil a life dream- you could get any one of these life dreams, I have included how to complete them (times may vary):
- I want to read Sci Fi books from a preteen bookshelf- 4 hours (Select Sci Fi from preteen bookshelf)
- I want to debunk theories of relativity while drinking tea- 13 hours 20 minutes (Select debunk theory of relativity on teapot)
- I want to write letters to sci fi celebrities on the computer- 7 hours 12 minutes (Letters to celebs option on computer)
- I want to get all Dr Whoozits memorabillia via the internet and send it to a museum- 11 hours 42 minutes (Select the option on a computer)
- I want to talk to tech support about computer systems on the phone- 4 hours 30 minutes (Select the option on the phone)
- I want to create an edible board game army by baking gingerbread sims- 6 hours (Bake Gingerbread on a stove)
- I want to read encyclopedias from bookshelfs- 3 hours (Select encyclopedia on a bookshelf)
- I want to argue with park statue constantly about the virtues of Dr Whoozits- 8 hours 20 minutes (Click on the thinking man statue in the park)
- I want to have many scientific breakthroughs in the bath- 9 minutes (Select the option on a bath)
- I want to strategize chess on a chessboard as often as possible-6 hours (Select the option on a chess board)
- I want to have marathon movie sessions on a TV- 8 hours (Select Movie Marathon on a TV)
- I want to tell a lot of sims all about Ms Vampire Slayer- 10 hours (requires another sim, select option)
- Have a senior ask Osiris for help- 5 minutes
- Tap on the beach, carnival, arcade or pet park on island
- Have a senior ask Osiris for help- 20 seconds
- Fulfil a life dream- (the same as you did before)
- Have a scientific breakthrough in the bath- 9 minutes
- Debunk theory of relativity while drinking tea- 10 hours 30 minutes
- Tend to garden- 1 hour (plant)
- Prepare family dinner- 6 hours (stove)
- Complete a cycle of life (goodbye senior sim!)
- Have 4 sims in one house
- Be nice to a sim- 1 minute
- Have a baby- 1 day (can be started early) (having a baby through the pregnancy event will complete this)

Watermelons only take an hour so you wouldn’t need to start it a day early -it is definitely pumpkins.
I am stuck at 48% on the life quest! I need to fulfill a life dream but none show under the tab! I have gone to every wardrobe to see if there is a personality tab! which I can not find… 4 sims have passed on I don’t know where the original orb from the park is as it disappeared when I tried to assign it, I understand you are not a tech but I have looked every where for answers hoping you may have heard of a fix for these issues.. I had a singing salmon from a while back so not finishing that part of the quest doesn’t bother me, I just can’t move forward with the others with no life dreams! Please help!
Yeah this is a glitch, you are going to have to wait until they fix this glitch hopefully in the next update to be able to continue the quest

I have the same Exact problem. The orb was never given, there are no legacy quests and I’m stuck at 48% also. I hope that EA will give back the time we waste waiting for the corrections.
Yes, that is what I am hoping too, I have slowed my actions on the sims to keep them from getting older and dying, 4 sims have died, none held the orb, who knows when this will be fixed! Funny though they are quick to take your money, but no so much on fixing something that is wrong with their game…
I have always tried to start tasks early but everytime the task comes up it doesnt say that i have completed it. When exactly should i start a task so it is completed when it comes up?
I will give you an example: if you are on a task to have a movie marathon that will take you eight hours, put that task on in house 1, if the next task is to bake gingerbread for 6 hours you can start that at the same time in house 2 BUT make sure you do not go to that house before you have completed the movie marathon task. You need to complete that task then you will get the goal to bake gingerbread at this point you can then go to house 2 and you will have completed that task.
Some tasks can’t be completed early though. Hope this helps!

Its not a machine, its a button, you need to open the menu on the right hand side, where you previously found your sims jobs, hobbies and relationships, the button you need to open will pulse

It’s the massive green mat which costs LPs, you can find it in the 2 story mansion and the player designed house if you don’t want to buy it

You need to use the sim that you gave the geeky orb to, it won’t work with any other sim

There isn’t really anyway to get there fast, you just need to get XPs by baking, gardening, going to work and doing hobbies

You need to buy a toddler bookshelf that can be found in the toddler section, then you need to make sure there is an adult free, get the toddler to click on the book they want to read and the adult will come and read it to them

How do I open the age controller
Its in the menu on the right that has the jobs, hobbies and relationships in it and the age controller is the new tab
With this automatic aging, can it be adjusted or tuned off? I kinda do not want that. I have pretees, teens, adults and seniors and I want them to stay as is.
it can’t be turned off yet but you can pause it if you just leave yours sims not doing anything or if you haven’t done the quest yet they won’t age
I just started the goal and I’m on call a friend. I’m going to be away so I won’t be able to do the quests. Will my sims age and die while im gone or does that only happen once you finish the goal?

I have a preteen who appears to be in mourning, but I don’t have an option to reminisce or grieve. He is also fully inspired. Any ideas?
Has anyone died recently? If not then he isn’t mourning, is anyone else mourning, if so try and get them to grieve with each other.
Other people started mourning at the same time as him, but they all had options to grieve or reminisce. He’s the only one who didn’t and still doesn’t. No one else is in mourning at the moment though. He’s really starting to get on my nerves now. I may have to kill him off!!

I have the same problem. He won’t grieve with anyone. This is the 2nd time and now he & his sister have been orphaned. It takes him about 24 hours to work it out on his own.

What quest is AFTER the life dreams and legacies quest because I completed it a while ago and I’m starting to miss doing quests

Some people like to start tasks early to save time, if you decided to have a baby early it will cost you 3LPs but if you wait until the goal appears it will be free
Which sim gets the baby? My married couples have two kids each.
You can add the baby house, using a crib.
I currently have the glitch that would allow me to make unlimited sims… however my LPs all disappeared when I made one. I was able to reload my version saved in the cloud and got my LPs back, but I’m worried that when I have to have a baby they’ll get eaten by the glitch again. Anyone know if that’s the case?
I have no idea, EA know about the unlimited sims issue (not sure about the LPs disappearing!) so hopefully they will fix it soon!
What if you don’t want to your sims to die automatically? can you just not do this quest? Ive worked hard on their jobs/hobbies I don’t want to start over on new sims.
Yeah you could just not do the quest but you won’t be able to do future quests
First of all I want to say that this is a fantastic game, considering it’s free. Really appreciate the work that EA has done on this game.
I have one small piece of advice for newer users: be sure to consider what kind of game user you are before completing this quest. If you enjoy slower, imaginative play that involves things like building “relationships” or making creative new home designs, in addition to some goals, then it may be best not to complete the update. If you like running your Sims in work-camps all day and night to achieve quests and LP and orbs, then by all means update.
My view: I had played the same sims for about a year and a half before this update and created whole worlds around each Sim. I even spent time working on homes that “fit” them. Now that I have completed it, they are all aging and dying and being replaced by Sims with short life spans in which to complete goals and to develop skills. They have little time to develop the relationships necessary to churn out more kids for the next generation. You can keep them at the same stage, but it costs a lot of LP. A lot of LP that you may not have since adding new Sims suddenly costs LP too and since your lower skill set in Sims makes it harder to win competitions. You can use the orb to keep them at their age, but you lose it permanently!
It’s cool to have the sames aging, but the fact that preventing their aging is not easy (unless you stop your Sims’ from completing actions) is a bit frustrating, especially since they don’t age symmetrically (one of my Sims’ children is now about to reach grampy-hood before her parents). Had I known what the new update would contain, I probably wouldn’t have bothered to finish the quest.

This is REALLY helpful! Thanks! I haven’t reached this goal yet (but should soon), but I’ve been wondering why I would want my Sims to die. Isn’t it all about having the Sims do hobbies, living in their houses, wearing certain clothes, going to work, talking to other Sims, etc.? I don’t understand the benefit of this quest.
The only reason is that it keeps the game new and refreshing, I do like that you have new sims appear all the time but I know it is annoying having to redo hobbies, relationships, careers and doing up houses perfect for them!
What will happen if I never complete the task as I had already completed saddle up and hidden unicorn so now this task has started but what will happen if I dont complete it
Do you want to complete it? If you dont complete it your sims won’t age but you won’t be able to complete future quests
My toddler has a life dream for a book to be read to her. However, when I click on the toddler reading center to do so it says action has failed because I must have an adult to complete the action. There is an available adult in the house with her, but she won’t read to her! What to do?!?!?
Do you have anyone other than the adult and toddler in the house? If so make sure they are busy and try again
My social task is: Practise making films in neighbour’s city .
How to do this ?
You need to use a video camera, if your neighbour doesn’t have one you can’t do it

I am on the last part of the teenager quest, and None of my sims have personalities. Also i just added a new sim and still the personality icon didnt show still. And also I was wondering after ageing a preteen to a teenager do the teenagers age to adults by themselves? Or does the little ring by them show and age them automatically, Im just a little confused about this update.
You aren’t at the life dreams and legacies quest yet so you cannot automatically age your sims yet or give them personalities

How to fulfill a life dream?
Look in the life dreams menu, you will see a life dream, you need to do that life dream to fulfill it
I’m almost done with this quest and this has helped me so much! Thank you for this site. I think it should be noted that the times are off (as they do with updates of updates – especially when there is a glitch) and a senior now has to grow the pumpkins. That’s where I at now and had another sim growing pumpkins …didn’t work.

Continued-am and 12pm which I have done before and is probably one of the easiest tasks but it won’t say I’ve done it when I have. I have repeated this task lots of times using different fridges and even making a meal with a microwave (just in case though I know its with as fridge) but it still won’t work!!! What am I doing wrong!?!?:-\
using a fridge select the option to eat a meal between the hours of 6am and 12pm (so as long as you are doing it in the morning it should complete the goal!)

I’d just like to thank you for all of your help with The Sims Freeplay. I have referred to your blog countless times. I have chosen not to do the Life Dreams & Legacies quest because I don’t want to kill off my Sims. (I don’t feel like that’s the point of the game.) I would not have been able to make that decision without first consulting your blog to know what was coming. I realize this means I will not be able to complete any future quests, such as the cooking ones that were released today. This will be a real bummer when holiday quests are released, but I’d rather not kill off my Sims. (Here’s to hoping that one day EA will let people skip that quest!) I’m sure I’ll continue to refer to your blog, but it looks like my quest journey ends here, so I wanted to say thank you.

Do you remember when you downloaded the game? You need to go into the app store on your device and find the game, it should say update avaliable and you can then update it 🙂
mine is on kindle and i got it through amazon..i went to the app and it doesnt say update available.. should i redownlowd?? i hate feeling this stupid loll
i found it duh the most simply things always stump me loll and btw hating this building things with the life orbs, took so much effort finally got my arcade built now i need impossible amounts of the same to build things inside ughh i try to do all life dream stuff then i am not earning money. wow just a thought maybe to pass on to the game folks. thanks again for all your help!!

I completed the life dreams quest and now I’m in the process of completing my toddler’s life dreams. Her life dream is to ride on the swings. I have unoccupied adults in the house as I attempt to complete this quest, but it keeps saying I need an adult to supervise even though there are many available. What should i do? It won’t let me complete the quest.
You need an adult sim in that house and they will come and push the toddler on the swing
I’m not sure what you’ve posted mean… Does that mean that if I couldn’t finish the quest on time, I could still buy a singing salmon in the decoration section? Or Will the singing salmon appear in the decoration section before I start to do the quest? I’ m considering not finish the quest because every sim I’ve created is my favorite. I don’t quite understand the rules of the life dream orbs. Would you recommend me to finish the quest do the life dream legacy task since I will be quite busy at work? I will seldom check my sims during working hours. Once a sim finish a task, does the life time will count if I don’t tap it?
If you don’t complete on time you won’t be able to buy the singing salmon in the decoration section, you will only be able to buy it with real money from the online store.
Once you start this quest your sims start to age, whatever action they do it adds to their timer, so day tasks fill up the timer quicker. If you don’t want your sims to die then you don’t have to do this quest but you won’t be able to do new quests in future
when doing life dreams, does it still count if you are sporty for example, doing anything sporty?? not just the the one you picked?? hope this makes sense, loll thanks again
