THE SIMS FREEPLAY
©THEGIRLWHOGAMES.BLOG

Hi! First, I would like to say thank you so much for these posts, they’re really thorough and helpful. Second, when you click on the pet park/other things do you have to buy them, too?
You’re welcome!
Yes they cost orbs: https://thegirlwhogames.wordpress.com/2015/02/05/the-sims-freeplay-how-many-orbs-are-required/
When the time comes of death for my sims do i have to kill them or can i just let them hang around?
when their timer is up they will have to die or you have to use LPs to reverse them but until then they don’t have to die
Can your new Sims have the same name as Sims who have died? Thanks in advance!
Yes they can
Is there a way to delay the start of the quest other than not finishing the one before?
Thank you for your diligence with this blog. You are the first and, so far, the last place I go for information.
No that is the only way unfortunately.
You’re welcome, and thank you!
Sorry for the previous comment. I haven’t started the quest yet, but I wanted to know what happens after a sim dies, does it just disappear completely or is the a grave? Or a graveyard?
Also I wanted to know if you think that i’ll get another chance to unlock the Latin Villa since i didn’t collect all the trophies in time.
They just disappear unfortunately
Probably not, but they may bring it back as a gift at some point though, they do that sometimes
How many sims did you have when you started the quest? Was it hard losing your sims? I’ve had mine for years, I don’t know if I can watch them die. I’m writing EA a letter
probably about 30, at first yes but you get used to it, if you don’t want to do this quest just stay on the previous one
Hello~ Is there way to ask a sim to move out? Because I had Sim 1 and Sim 2 living together, but then I wanted Sim 2 to move in with Sim 3 in another house, so I had Sim 3 ask Sim 2 to move in with her, but instead Sim 3 moved in with Sim 1 and 2. I have three people in one house, and though I know you can have like 4 sims living together, I’m planning on pairing them up to get married so I’d like each couple to live in their own house.
Yes, you need to have an empty house and then when you click on it you will get the options as shown in this post: https://thegirlwhogames.wordpress.com/2015/03/09/the-sims-freeplay-empty-house-options/ you need to select relocate existing sim then you can move out sim 3 and then get sim 2 to move in with them
Is there a way you can change your seniors life dream?
Not really without losing all the progress they have already earned towards that orb
Hey, does the new baby cost some LP:s?? Sorry about my bad english!
It should be free if you wait until you get the goal to have a baby
If I don’t complete any of the goals in the quest, will my sims still age and die?
As soon as you get the first goal your sims will start to age
When it was time to add a new adult sims to a house I started one with a platinum orb. It even said – I have the best orb of all. Now the hallo is red and there is a birthday cake above the sims head. When I click on the birthday cake I’m asked if I want to age them or keep them status quo for 12 LP’s. What happened? What did I do wrong? I’ve given new sims a platinum orb before and they’ve stayed status quo. I don’t want to lose the platinum orb but fear I will. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
BTW, I’ve found your blogs/site/postings to be very, very informative and useful.
I don’t know what you did wrong sorry! Did you pause the sim in the way shown in this post: https://thegirlwhogames.wordpress.com/2015/10/02/the-sims-freeplay-pausing-a-sims-life/ if you did you may want to contact EA to see what went wrong
Thanks!
Is there a way my sim won’t have to pass away
Yes you need to get a platinum orb (this involves a sim completing their life dreams to get a bronze, then giving that bronze to another sim to get it to a silver, then that silver to another sim to make it gold then gold to platinum) so 4 sims have to complete life dreams and pass on to save one sim
I don’t really want my sims to die, but I do want to open up the beach and pet places which I need the orbs to do so, so I guess il have to get used to them died to. But it all sounds very complicated I can can’t get my head around the orbs and passing orbs on
Do you have any advice to help me understand them?
Fabulous site by the way it’s helped me get so many prizes, so thank you xx

Thanks, glad it helps!
Hi I’m on the bird feeding quest at the moment. And I just wanted to know weather or not I should finish this quest. I love my sims sooooooooo much. I can’t even think about them dying! It makes me really sad. And also death in sims freeplay sounds more like a burden than anything. What has your expirience been with the automatic ageing? Is it worth it? Thanks!
I don’t have a problem with the dying anymore, I have got used to it but if you really don’t want your sims to die then just stay on the bird feeding quest for a while, you can always complete it and do the life dreams quest if you ever decide you want them to die.
Is it worth it to give a personality/life dream to a sim that is already an adult when you completed the quest? I’m guessing they wont have time to complete enough to gain an orb.
yes, I usually give it to an adult, they have plenty of time
If I unlock the quest but don’t do any of the tasks, do my Sims still age?
yes, as soon as the quest unlocks your sims will start to age
Is there any way of stopping the quest from starting?
the only way is to stay on the previous quest
How long does a silver orb pause ageing? And is it worth pausing or should I wait until I have a platinum orb?
7 days
I would wait until you have a platinum
Your posts have all been amazing! I was just wondering what the process is in regards to the ageing. I assume all sims age from baby upwards so my question is; How often do they age?
And to others reading this, I personally don’t have a problem with my sims dying as I guess I can always “reinvent” them.
Thanks!
Sims don’t have to age from babies, if they start as an adult they will become a senior when they are ready, this is how long each stage is:
Baby- 24 hours
Toddler- 3 days
Preteen- 5 days
Teenager- 7 days
Adult- 18 days
Senior- 10 days
Do you know if the time has changed for how long your sim will stay a baby? It’s going to be hard to complete the Musical Expression hobby if the baby ages into a toddler after 24 hours.
Unfortunately they haven’t changed it, its still only a day
Do you have any suggestions for when people go on vacation? I am going camping for 2 weeks and will not have cell reception. Will all my sims die?
I would suggest just putting them on the longer actions such as gardening for a day or hibernating, they won’t die when you are away
I will be out of cell reception for two weeks. So I will try what you suggested and hope they will not die
they won’t die, I promise you!
I have 34 sims at level 44 I adopted quite a few and am worried about last task having a baby. Any suggestions?
Unfortantely you will have to delete a sim to be able to add a baby sim to your town for this goal
Hi…I just like to thank you. Ever since I found out your blog I got to finish every quest on time and win the prizes. Currently I’m doing the “In stiches” quest and I decide not to finish it yet cause I dont want my sims to die yet. The tip that you gave to earn LP’s by doing cooking hobby helps me alot. Thank you again 🙂
Once you start the quest will all your sims start aging? Or just the one..and if so how long is the average life span of a sim?
Yes they will all start ageing
Baby- 24 hours
Toddler- 3 days
Preteen- 5 days
Teenager- 7 days
Adult- 18 days
Senior- 10 days
What happens if I change the personality of my sim who I previous gave a life orb to? Do I lose that life orb or does it go to my inventory?
you won’t lose the orb, you will find it laying on the ground next to the sim whos personality you changed
Thank you so very much as I have been so worried! I love your blog and come here daily. I tell all my friends who play sims to come here for information as you are the most informative and the best!
You’re welcome!Thanks 🙂
When I get to the “have a baby” part which needs a day to accomplish, what if I’m on level 36 and another sim would be unlocked on level 38 and we all know it would take forever for me to get to level 38, chances are I wouldn’t get the prize anymore, right? Unless I use up like 70 LPs? Help please.
Yes or you could delete a sim who is already in your town so you can add the baby
When you finish this quest, is the wedding rings free or still expensive?
still expensive
Hi! My adult’s orb is saying something like “upgrade to a golden orb”. I know there are gold orbs, but any idea what a golden one is? Thanks!
golden orbs are the same as gold orbs
Would you advise doing this quest? I don’t want my Sims to age but I want the pet park and the beach!
if you want the pet park and the beach then you are going to have to do this quest, its not that bad really
How long is the life-span of a sim? (From birth to death.)
Baby- 24 hours
Toddler- 3 days
Preteen- 5 days
Teenager- 7 days
Adult- 18 days
Senior- 10 days
hey I was wondering if u had to bake a birthday cake, or can u just age them up?
you don’t need birthday cakes anymore, you can age a sim for free once they have completed their life dream for that stage, or use LPs to age them early
Do you think it is best to give a personality right from birth? When I completed the quest it only took my senior two times doing the life dream to get a bronze orb, but now I have a toddler who has been doing the life dream for ages now and she is only at 7%! Or was it just quicker for the senior during the quest?
Thanks so much for your blog, it is so helpful!
Its a lot quicker when you complete the quest
I usually just add adults to complete life dreams, I try to pick a life dream that sends them to work so I can still earn money
Hi. I wanted to say I really like your posts. They tell me what tasks are ahead. I know you say you aren’t good with words but I think you’re amazing. Plus you include whether if you think a prize is or isn’t worth it. Thank you for these posts and I hope you put up some more soon! Thanks for helping me and other simmers!😀
Thank you very much 🙂
Hoping you can help me…I’m doing the Life Dreams and Legacies quest and have gotten to the “complete a life cycle” task. The problem is that my senior Sim didn’t have the exclamation point show up over her head and the grim reaper is not at her house. Is there something else I need to do? I’ve googled it and can’t find any info about this problem. Thanks in advance for any tips!
All I can suggest is try restarting your device, hopefully that will make the exclamation mark appear
Hi when you finish all the quests what happens
nothing happens, you just continue the game
if you are holding the platinum orb……will it stop the holder from ageing
you need to give it to them using the method in this post to stop them from ageing: https://thegirlwhogames.wordpress.com/2015/10/02/the-sims-freeplay-pausing-a-sims-life/
2 questions:
1. How does the points or something count? E.g. When I complete Animal Fanatic Life Dream to be around horses by doing one 3 hour train horse option (still trying to complete that hobby) I get 112 points. Is 100 points equal to 1% in the menu or something?
2. Does doing tasks with lower star items thus taking longer gives you more LD points? E.g. I have a dream that needs to read books. 3* bookshelf has 19 hours for biggest task while 1* has 24 hours. Will my sim be closer towards completed life dream if I do the 24 hour option over and over or it’s the same progress as 19 hours option?
1. I have no idea, sorry!
2. Lower star rating doesn’t give you more points, you will get the same amount whether you use a 3 star bookcase or 1 star, 1 star will just take longer.
When I finish Life Dream’s quest, can adults die before being a senior?
no they can’t
I am doing the basement quest where I need to play with a pet but I can’t build the pet store without doing Life dreams and legacies quest which I haven’t unlocked yet so I am now stuck.. have you any ideas of how to get a pet without unlocking the life dreams and legacies quest or even how to unlock that quest?
you can build the pet store without that quest, the pet store is next to the salon and promotions r us near the park. I think you may be trying to build the pet salon
Hi! I was wondering what quest I need to finish to unlock this one? I’m at level 34 and is just doing the Nanny Knows Best Quest. Thanks so much!
you need to complete all previous quests that are in your quest queue before you can do this one (it will start automatically when you get to the point where you have finished all the other quests)
Ah. Thanks again! 😀
Do I need a cake to age a sim during the quest? I’m almost done with the In Stitches Quest, just wondering if I need to start baking a cake 😉 Tia
no this quest doesn’t require a cake
Hey there.. I just wanted to ask, if my senior dies and leaves behind an orb, can I pass it on to a toddler instead of a baby so they can rank it up to a higher tier, or will that pause the toddler’s timer instead? Thanks! Love your blog, btw. 🙂
Yes, you can pass the orb onto any sim, it won’t pause their life at all unless you give it to them through the pass button in the age controller
You’re welcome! Thanks 🙂
I’ve looked everywhere and I can find the pulsing remote for aging. Is there a certain place where it should be?
have you looked at the picture in the post, it shows you
From the first photo it looks like there should be a floating blue folder near the fireplace in at the snow park.
photo 1 is also the one underneath that, the top part is where you will find it on a small device and the other part of 1. is where you will find it on other devices such as an iPad.
Hi! I was just gonna say that I don’t know if this is because of the different star ratings, but when I had to send out the invites it told me it would take 7 hours. On your blog though, it says 4 minutes for the 3 star rating on the computer, while mine was 2 stars. If this has changed then I just wanted to let you know, to prevent others with the confusion. Thanks!
No its not because of star ratings, they have updated the quest again and changed the times
Hi…. Was wondering what happens to homes once a sim passes? Can you just add a new sim to an existing home? Does it cost money? Thanks!
it becomes an empty house then you can add a new sim, that doesn’t cost money to add a new sim, it does if you want to relocate an existing sim or a family to that house.
Could someone help me?? I want to finish this quest but they just say that my houses are full and that i cant have a baby? Why is that??
you cannot add a baby to a house that already has 4 sims living in it, you will need to add the baby to a house with another married couple to complete this goal
Hi, i almost complete this life dreams and legacies quest and was wondering is this the last quest for the sims freeplay?
it is the last main quest, yes
Hi! Just a question about platinum life orbs, if I give one to an infant/toddler/preteen to pause their age indefinitely and I want to age them up, will they lose their platinum orb or will it continue into their older age?
If you want them to age up you can age them to a preteen manually but they won’t age automatically
I would just like to say that send invitations is now 6.5 hours and ask about invention is 14.5 hours
Thanks
Thanks, I’ve updated the post
Hi,
I have a question… well its more like an inner debate i could use advise on. From my original sims their children have all aged up to adults and have gotten married and had kids. I have all the babies i need but both the parents and grandparents r the same age. Im not sure if i wanna age up all the granparents to seniors before i start this quest or just start it anyway and all the grandparents and parents die together. I want the grandparents to die 1st tho because I’ve had them longer and their lives are complete. I dont want them to do life quests. Any advice? Also when the timer is up do i have to let them all die then or can i wait? Thank you very much for your blogs. They have helped me thru all of my quests
If you want the grandparents to die first then you probably should age them to seniors before you start the quest but it is completely up to you!
When the timer is up they have to pass on or you can use LPs to reverse them back to the beginning of that life stage
You’re welcome! Glad it helps
I have avoided this quest for months. Have there been any changes with the last few updates?
if by changes you mean can you turn off auto ageing now then the answer is no, sorry!
I am on the ‘In stitches’ quest, i am so excited for this quest!
