You can now add up to 5 floors to your house- a second floor costs 300,000, a third floor costs 500,000, a fourth floor costs 800,000 and a fifth floor costs 1,000,000!

Is the prize worth it? Yes, there are some really nice elevators and escalators available but you do have to buy them, it also is quite tricky to complete the quest within the time limit especially if it takes you ages to save up and build the community center.

The game says I have to complete the multi story renovations quest to be able to build the community center, what is the problem?
There is no problem, you have to start the multi story quest and the first goal is to build the community center so you cannot build it until you get that first goal in the quest
How do I send my sim to the community center?
Go to the community center and click on the whistle next to a sim who isn’t busy on the simtracker, this post explains more about the simtracker
I don’t understand what you mean when you say you can do both call the home store/ hotline goals at once to save time?
This goal appears twice so it is like being able to start a goal early that you have access to (read the question below if you don’t understand this) to do this you need two sims and two different houses:
1- When you get the goal to call home store you can set sim 1 to do the task
2- In a different house which you need to stay away from until you get the second goal you can have sim 2 also do the task
3- When sim 1 is done you complete the goal the first time
4- Wait until you get the goal again to call home store and you can go to sim 2 to complete it straight away!
What do you mean when you say a goal can be started early?
Any goal that you can normally do can be started early because you will have access to it and any goal that you can’t normally do you will have to wait until you get the goal to be able to complete it
The tip with this method is to put the sim doing that action early in a different house that you cannot go to until you get that goal or it will not work
Does it matter if the banana bread burns? Will the goal still complete?
The goal will still complete even if it causes a fire
I crafted the 1st set of woodworking items before I got the task to, my game now won’t complete the goal, what should I do?
You will need to find the next 3 items in the second row to complete this goal

Can I start baking the banana bread even when I’m just building the community center because mine will take 42 hrs to build! 😦
I wouldn’t start then because you won’t be able to go to that house until you get that goal and thats quite far down the goal list, I would start when you call the home store
Help I’m stuck! The task states craft the first set of woodworking items, but I did this prior to the task, I got another sim to try and collect the first set again but the task still shows as incomplete help. 🙂
That’s strange, it worked when I did it early, sometimes it does take a while to realise, keep doing it and hopefully it will catch up

I found with this that if you have already finished the first set by the time you get to the part of the quest where it wants you to do it, it will trigger when you complete the next full set. For me, by the time I had checked the email, I had already completed the 2nd set, but when I finished the 3rd, it said “task complete”.

When my sim reached level 3 (wood working) and got sammy splinters (item), I was able to finish the task.. The sad thing is, I was not able to do all task on time because I used the 9 hours .. 😦

I’ve also had the first row completed for a while and it still won’t recognize that it’s done. Is there anything else I can to do make it pass this task?!
Sorry there is nothing I can suggest apart from trying to do it again, when the next update comes out you could update and it may realise you have done it
Mine isn’t clearing either and I had the first two sets complete before the task. Any idea how I can contact the company? I hope I won’t have to clear the entire hobby first and then reclear the first set. That would be frustrating. I would’ve cleared in time too but now there is no hope 😦

Hi, my game crashed while I was on this quest and now I have about 21hrs left to finish in time. Are the escalators pretty cool and how much are they in the home store? I really want them and I’m thinking of using lps to finish in time.
They are cool, they mostly cost LPs I think. I know if you don’t complete in time they cost like $10 from the store but they still aren’t free, and not worth spending real money on.
Please reply ASAP, I don’t want to find that I’ve wasted my precious lps.

I’ve been playing since i think 2012? where you can have this teleporter, herbicide and fire extinguisher quest (before that quest, i’m not playing sims yet so idk what i’ve missed) and then i found out on youtube how to cheat lol sorry got tempted (coz my first game got messed up with time cheats that gives $10k that’s why i started over with cheats) 😦 .. and then i restarted my game mid october 2013 and finally got the haunted elevator/stairs.. i rushed my game a bit too fast that time coz i really wanted to have those flower box i use for decorating houses BUT i didn’t have those quest like the multi story and haunted quest where you’ll get a rewards for completing it on time like fish tank, haunted house i really like that lot so idk why? have i skipped those quest with too much leveling?? and then i lost my game save for xmas and new year items like fireworks coz my iphone broke and i didn’t get to save them on cloud so i’ve just downloaded my save from before the xmas update 😦 then started playing again in january and i’m now level 50.. can i still have those quest or i can’t anymore?
if i wanted to get the items i want like the haunted house and elevators/escalators.. do have to start over again without cheats? it says there’s a certain level to unlock those quest. i don’t have $ to pay 9.99.. so that’s my problem. don’t mind restarting the game withouts cheats now but just wanted to know if i’ll have those quest if i do start over. tY
Firstly this is a great example of how cheating just ruins the game 😛
I have been playing for a long time, I never got most of these quests or prizes when I first started the game, i never had the option to get the haunted house or complete the toddlers quest to get the chest, so I started a new game to create posts for the quests I missed, if you want to complete these quests you will need to start a completely new game without cheating
i see, yeah i really messed up my game with those cheats 😦 i’ll start a new game then but before that i’ll take a snapshot with those houses i built so i could build them again. Is everyone still not able to add sims ( sim limit reached problem) as I need 13 sims to be able to build community centre I only need one more, but am obviously not going to be able to complete quest in time until ea sort the problem out!!! So annoying!!!
I have sorted it, the game still let me add another sim, but don’t think I’m going to complete in time as my community centre is going to take 53 hours to complete 😦 great blog by the way !

You can still add another sim even though it says sim limit reached only added as many sims as I should have at my level haven’t gone over that amount as may cause more problems! Hope that helps? 🙂

My best guess is to keep the Sims population at the same number as the level you’re on. Is that right?
You need to keep the sim count below or the same as the sim limit for that level
Sorry, how do we know what the Sim limit we should stay at if it is saying sim limit reached (and not changing as we level up)
Click on the picture of the sim in the blue circle at the top of your screen, there you will see a sim limit of something like 20/22 you shouldn’t go over 22, as you level up the limit will increase.

It does say in the post if you don’t do it in the time limit you won’t get the elevators and escalators prize.
But you can buy them from the store with real money (someone said they cost $10 and you only got one of each free so not really worth it! they may be cheaper now though!)
You get some stairs when its completed even if its not in the limit (otherwise you wouldn’t be able to build an extra floor)
I’ve already built the community center, but the game isn’t recognizing it. Even when I click into it, and send a sim to compete, it won’t let me move on to the next step of the quest. 😦
Send a sim to compete? You have built the competition center, not the community center, the community center is found near the bridge to the mysterious island 🙂
When it comes to woodcraving task, can I crave two things of the first set first and crave the last thing for the first set after the task starts? I just find it takes 2 days to finish the community center and I want the elevator so much.
Yep that will work 🙂 just don’t find them all before the goal appears or it probably won’t recognise you have done it
I was wondering since it is on there twice for the objective for Call home store on phone- 14 hours 6 minutes can you start it early for the second one at like 1 hour before the first one ends would it count for the second one? I already have my banana bread cooking it will be done 10 minutes after the first Call home store on phone task and that will still give enough time for the task Creative chat with a sim- 12 hours 30 minutes right?

This is a really annoying glitch, apparently you have to find the second set of collectibles and it should complete the goal, so just keep woodworking!

I am currently on the quest previous to this one and I have saved up a lot of money ahead of time so that I could complete this quest before time is up. When I try to build the community center, it says that I first need to complete the renovations quest. I guess what I am asking is – does the community center unlock to build once the quest is started or have I missed something that I need to do before this? Thanks again for all your help! You cannot miss a quest, it will be in your queue waiting until a previous quest has been completed.
When I read through this quest I noticed it said “carve magnum opus” and I study the language of Latin and I recognized that as a Latin phrase and it means “great work”.

Got shocked when have seen that it ll take 53 hours to build my centre for quest, that is 3d quest I am going to complete quickly! I am playing without cheats or top ups or any, so idea about starting early very suits to me ))) thanks to the blog btw!
Knowing how quest is going to be like and what tasks you ll have to complete within knowing time isn’t hard to count when you better start to make needed task, especially if that takes pretty much long time
So, here is a plan:start the task with wumples while Carve magnum, then make your sim call home store when task with wumples is 8h 50m left, make another sim bake banana bread when task with wumples is 15h 30m left. Start creative chat with a sim, call home store and task with see wumples for… at the same time when completing 1st set of Craft.
Similar plan has worked for me with previous quests and helped to finish them within 1-2 days only 🙂
Unfortunately that plan won’t work as many of the goals can only be completed once you get the goal, for example you can’t start creative chat with sim before you get the goal as the option isn’t avaliable
Well, that was me being naive ))) you were right, but some things you can complete starting at the same time, absolutely definitely to start bake when share ideas with wumples or even earlier and also make your sims do sets of wooden hobby ! Having last 3 steps awaiting to be done now and 3 days ahead woo hoo 🙂
I’d like to complete the quest as soon as possible. I was wondering, have you ever tried completing actions in a neighbour’s town? For example, when my Community Center still has 9 hours to build, I’m going to start carving a Magnum Opus in a neighbour’s Community Center to save time. Have you ever seen something like that work?
Completing goals in a neighbours town doesn’t work, really the only thing you can do early is baking banana bread

I completed the quest in the proper amount of time but I can’t seem to build a second floor. There was a set of directions after I finished the quest but I deleted the message too quickly. Could you tell me how to pit the stairs in the house?

Go to the home section of the buy mode and there will be a tab for building new floors, click on that and it will take you to the outside of your house and you can then buy a new floor, then you will need to build rooms upstairs and only then you can add stairs downstairs 🙂
I have a 2 story house with an elevator and a 3 story one with stairs. I wanted to switch them to make my sims reach the 3rd floor quicker, but the elevator doesn’t appear on the 3rd floor. I have the LP elevator. Do all the elevators stop at the 2nd floor?

And I have done the woodworking First set already,but it doesn’t show next part of the quest and it seems it hasn’t realized that I have done it already,so it hasn’t shown me the next part of quest and I get stuck there.

The only way you can get social points is by visiting neighbours
Thank you for the tips I employed all my 13 sims as musicians and send them to work every evening and I use the free Toyota guitar to promote them during the day, along with my daily mail bonus I get around 20, 000 money a day thankyou so much and I now have enough social points to build the night club thanks for your help

Yes times changed because they updated the game, i will be updating this quests times tomorrow.
I won’t be expanding that one as im saving up to build a bigger one at a later stage and i know that you can already joyride on the inflatable in my pool as i tested it out 🙂

You don’t get the elevators and escalators but you still get the stairs once you complete the quest whenever you finish it

No you have to complete the multi story renovations quest first
Stupid question time.. I just purchased the two story mansion and relocated a family. I expected the baby to go into the empty crib but it didn’t. It went into its original crib but in the hallway on the bottom floor. How do I get it into the crib on the second floor? Thanks 🙂
It won’t be able to go in that crib but what you can do is store the crib upstairs and put the crib that the baby is in in its place 🙂

I’m not so concerned about these, though they’d be nice to have. What I want to know is if STAIRS themselves are cheaper if we complete it in time? Or are stairs unlocked at a steady price no matter how long the quest takes?

No that’s not quite right, if you complete in time you get elevators and escalators, if you don’t complete in time, you just don’t get them. Stairs cost the same for everyone and they start from 30,000.

Once you complete the quest you unlock the two story mansion and the ability to add new floors anyway but if you don’t complete in time you don’t get the elevators or escalators, you can still complete once the time is up

No, they aren’t more expensive.
Sadly I will not be completing this quest in time. It took me 24 hours intobthe quest just to raise enough money to start building and 54 hours to complete. I even held out completing “an alien concept” which I had complete with 2 days left, just to save money. If I were to do it again I would not have spent so much money on repairing and cleaning the resturant. I had over 400,000 before I stared the resturant. Just an FYI to others….good luck and save a ton of money the community center cost me 275,000…WOW!
